Chapter 51: Training Preparation

Phenex Mansion, Lord Phenex Study…

"… sure this is what you desire, my son?" Jonathan asked Riser for the umpteenth time since Riser returned from Kuoh.

"Yes, father. I am very sure." Riser said as he raised his cup to his lips, drinking the wine.

Yubelluna and Zuko stood behind Riser patiently as Jonathan sighed.

"I understand, but this is out of character for you." Jonathan said as he leaned into his chair. "You went on and on about this for years… why the sudden change?"

Riser smiled as he placed his cup down.

"Well," Riser said as he raised his left hand to push some hair out of his eyes, Jonathan catching a glimpse of gold. "I had a change of perspective… and reality."

Zuko covered his mouth as he chuckled while Yubelluna's cheeks turned red.

Jonathan felt pride swell in his chest.

"But, now I gotta convince Zeoticus of this…"

"That is why I challenged her to a Rating Game." Riser interrupted. "To give her a chance."

Kuoh Academy, ORC Clubroom…

"Naruto," She said as she turned to the kitsune, who was using his finger to clean his ear. "Can you…"

"No."

"You didn't even let me fin…"

"No."

Question…" Rias said, starting to get really annoyed with the fox as Ravel left the room, not needing to be there for this conversation.

"No." Naruto said nonchalantly as he continued to lot look at Rias, finger firmly in his ear, cleaning it.

"Naruto," Koneko said as she glared at him. "Let Rias ask the question."

Naruto rolled his eyes, removing his finger from his ear, lazily looking at Rias, giving her his attention.

"Naruto, I would like your help in training my peerage!" Rias asked, bowing to show how serious she was. "I'll even pay you back with ramen…"

"You can't buy…"

"As much as you want, no limit!" Rias added, her turn to interrupt.

Naruto sucked on his teeth.

'Oh, fuck…' He thought, trying to make a decision.

He crossed his arms, closed his eyes, deep in thought.

'Koneko already knows Rokushiki and Kitsunebi-ryu…' He thought, having personally taught them to Koneko. 'Gasper is sealed away…Kiba uses basic swordsmanship and is very fast… Asia is a good healer… Akeno is well rounded, but… with Issei being too unrefined at this moment… is it worth the effort?'

"Can't you unseal Gasper for this?" Naruto asked, opening his eyes. "Surely he is ready?"

Rias, having stood up, shook her head.

"I need permission from my brother for that, Naruto." Rias replied.

'Fuck.' The fox thought as he went back to thinking.

"Hey," Koneko said as she approached her best friend, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't think too hard, just take a breather and go from there."

Naruto exhaled, then inhaled deeply.

"Alright, I can help… BUT," Naruto said as he held up a hand to keep Rias from talking right away. "I need everyone's body measurements."

"Why?" Rias asked, curiously tilting her head.

"Because I had an idea that I might regret giving thought. Also, I am going to be taking you to a very secret Location, so put this blindfold on." Naruto said as he pulled a blindfold out.

"Uh… okay…" Rias said as Naruto sighed as he walked up to Rias.

"Also," Naruto said as Rias took and wrapped her eyes with said blindfold. "How good is your savings?"

Thirty Minutes Later, Kamabakka Queendom, Madam Henley's Tailor Shop…

"Thank you for your patronage." Madam Henley said as Rias and Naruto left, the latter carrying a large cloth bag in his arms.

"My money…" Rias cried, moths flying out of her wallet.

"Don't cry over spilled milk, Princess Peach." Naruto said as they prepared to leave, handing Rias back the blindfold.

Rias's anguish became anger as she accepted it.

"I am NOT Princess Peach!" She stated.

"Oh, really?" Naruto asked with a slight sarcastic high pitch in the end. "The fact that you asked for my help tells me otherwise, Peach."

Rias facepalmed.

"You don't know everything." Rias mumbled as she put her wallet away.

Naruto snorted.

"Koneko told me enough." Naruto replied.

"Like what?" Rias asked, her anger still present, but curiosity egging her on.

"You have a Devil/Fallen who hates her daddy, a church experiment who hates a sword that didn't do anything to him, a Dhampir who is timid and can't control his powers, a nekoshou who hates her sister and her heritage, an excommunicated nun who is to gentle for what is to come, and a pervert who is not even trained at all." Naruto listed off. "Did I miss anyone?"

Rias didn't say anything.

Naruto felt correct in this listing, and didn't hold it over Rias.

"It isn't easy, you know." Rias stated she tied the blindfold on before she grabbed Naruto, using a generic teleporting circle to send both of them back to Kuoh.

"Never said it was, but you as their King should have addressed these issues long before Issei was involved." Naruto said before he blinked and they were back in the ORC clubroom.

"Welcome back." Asia greeted warmly.

"What was so important that you needed our measurements?" Akeno asked Naruto, giggling with the expectation that it was perverted.

"And why didn't you ask for mine?" Koneko asked, pouting slightly.

Naruto put the large cloth bag down, opening it up.

Within the bag were simple throw over kimono/bathrobe outfits, each one perfectly tailored for each of them, including Rias.

"These are made from Fire Rat pelts." Naruto explained as he handed them out. "They are fire resistant and should help with defending yourself during the Rating Game."

"Awesome." Issei said as he put his on.

They were the same.

Deep red with the Gremory Emblem on the chest.

"I see." Koneko said, realizing why Naruto didn't ask for her measurements.

Because he already gave her an outfit made of the material.

"Rias, when do you plan on starting the training? I need to gauge everyone's abilities." Naruto told her.

"Tomorrow, so everyone," She announced, getting everyone's attention. "Pack your bags tonight, we are going on a trip for training."

"Question?" Kiba asked, trying on his robe, liking the texture of it.

"Yes."

"Is Naruto going to train us in… every aspect?" Kiba asked, wanting to know the intention.

"Nope, just combat." Naruto bluntly stated. "If you want magic training… then I have no idea."

"Oh." Asia said as she felt sad, but didn't last long when Akeno put her hand on the Bishop's shoulder.

"Don't worry, I can teach you and Issei magic." Akeno informed.

Issei smiled as he began to look forward to his training.

Ever since the battle at the abandoned church, he wanted to get stronger.

'And maybe, this time, I won't lose anyone.' Issei thought as he looked at his left hand, gripping it in resolve.

"Naruto, Rias." Issei announced, getting the Pawn and King's attention. "I am ready for anything!"

Skip…

"I wasn't ready for this!" Issei yelled.

Rias, Akeno, Kiba, Koneko, and Naruto were ahead of him and Asia.

Why?

Because he was carrying way more than everyone else.

Okay, not everyone, Koneko carried more due to her Rook enhancements.

"Come on, Issei, my cat is faster than you!" Naruto called out as he held Kurotama in one arm, patting her head.

The night before, while packing, Kurotama had thrown a fit and refused to get off Naruto's bag.

Wanting to get a good night sleep, he promised to take her with him.

Issei sweat dropped.

"Why couldn't you allow me to use my Rook Promotion?" he gasped out to Rias.

"This is to help you build your core strength. You won't gain anything using your Promotion, Issei." Rias explained.

"Come on, you are almost here~" Akeno called out encouragingly.

Asia stayed silent as she trudged with Issei.

She could have been up with the others, but chose to stay by his side.

Slowly but surely, the Pawn and Bishop of Gremory caught up with the others, and the group made the last stretch to the Gremory Villa.

"Nice." Naruto said as he and Kurotama looked at the villa. "I like it. Reminds me of home."

"Which home?" Koneko asked sarcastically.

"Home." Naruto replied as he put Kurotama down and put his bag at the entrance. "Anyway, everyone. I wanna get these assessments done ASAP, so put your stuff away and meet me out here."

Naruto walked out of the way, allowing the Gremory Party to enter the Villa, Koneko grabbing Naruto's bag for him because she wanted to.

Naruto smiled as he walked onto the grass, beginning to do some stretches as Kurotama stretched out in the sunlight and began lazing around.

Several minutes passed before the Gremory peerage was standing before Naruto.

"Alright, who wants to spar first?" Naruto asked as he bounced back and forth on the balls of his feet, getting himself pumped.

Koneko started to walk up.

"Not you Koneko."

"Why not?" She pouted.

"You are balanced as you are. Don't need anymore training with me." Naruto explained.

Koneko pouted further, crossing her arms with a loud huff of irritation.

She wanted to show off how strong she was.

"I will." Kiba said as he stepped forward as he drew his sword.

"So, you want me to use my own sword or just bare hand martial arts?" Naruto asked Kiba.

"Whatever you choose." Kiba replied, not minding either way because he was open to learn.

Naruto drew Shigure, taking a loose one-handed stance.

Both devils stood still as a wind blew through the trees.

The wind ended, their blades clashed.

Kiba felt a leg strike his right elbow, loosening his grip and in that second Naruto spun around, taking the broad sword and 'slashed' Kiba, stopping inches from the Knight's torso.

"Again?" Naruto asked playfully as he lowered his arms, handing Kiba back his sword.

"Yes." Kiba said as he accepted his weapon, taking a different stance over the basic Kendo he had used. 'That was speed, now let's try strength.'

Kiba ran full force, swinging with all he had as Naruto didn't move this time.

'Tekkai!'

"NARUTO WATCH OUT!" Asia and Issei shouted in panic.

Kiba's sword struck Naruto, from his shoulder to his upper chest.

Yet, no blood or injury happened as the blade rang in Kiba's hands.

"Good, but not enough force. You don't have much of a technique, so that can be refined over time, but I think you should build up some muscle." Naruto said as he ended his technique, carefully pushing the blade off of his body. "Also, maybe adopting some hand-to-hand skills in case the enemy breaches your defenses or knocks your sword out of your hand."

"Yes, I understand." Kiba stated as he accepted Naruto's critiques.

"Alright, who's next?" Naruto asked as he turned to the rest of the group.

"I accept." Akeno said happily, stepping up as Kiba stepped aside.

Naruto nodded and sheathed Shigure.

Akeno donned her Miko outfit, smiling nonchalantly as she prepared her magic.

"Lightning!" She said as she shot Naruto with her magic.

Naruto was hit… only to puff into a log.

"Huh?"

A fist appeared in Akeno's vision, stopping inches from her face.

"Like with Kiba, you need some Hand-To-Hand skills. But, what makes you worse than Kiba, is that you are a Queen." Naruto said as he pulled his fist back.

"How so?" Akeno asked as she prepared for the second attack.

"You don't…" Naruto started to say before Akeno used her Knight Speed to break the distance. 'Kami-e!'

Naruto avoided and dodged Akeno's attempts at hand combat, before he batted her arm away before grabbing her wrist and shoulder, pivoting himself and throwing her over his shoulder.

"You don't utilize your Queen attributes well. You are basically a glorified Bishop. Not berating, but I feel like you could also learn to accept the fact you are…"

"Shut up!" Akeno suddenly screamed.

Naruto went silent as Akeno looked at him in the eyes.

A fiery hatred emblazed in her amethyst eyes.

"You should." Was all Naruto said before he turned to Rias. "Guess you are next, Peach."

Rias's face flushed red in embarrassment as everyone else was confused.

"Don't call me Peach." She stated.

"Prove me wrong and I will stop." Was ALL Naruto said, smirking of course.

Rias summoned her PoD.

With a battle cry, she hurled it at Naruto.

Naruto… took this seriously.

He crouched with Kami-e, folding under the attack with ease.

The moment the stream of magic ended, Naruto leaped forward, drawing Shigure.

Rias thrust her arms forward, a shield of magic appearing before her hands.

Naruto's blade hit the shield.

Instead of pushing against it, Naruto pulled his blade back, allowing Rias to stumble forward slightly.

Pivoting around the shield, Naruto grabbed Rias's wrist, lifting it up, before pulling it down, Rias following her arm's momentum.

With a twist, Naruto flipped Rias over onto her back.

"FUCK!" Rias yelled as her back hit ground.

"You and Akeno are both Wizard type fighters, so, your weaknesses are the same as hers. One difference? You accept who you are." Naruto said as he helped Rias up.

"Again." Rias stated, not wanting to lose in front of her peerage.

Naruto smirked as he heard Rias's resolve in her tone.

"Alright, but use that 'Genius Mind' of yours and do something you've never done before." Naruto encouraged, smiling on purpose to antagonize Rias.

And antagonize it did.

Taking a running start, Rias lunged at Naruto, PoD channeled in both of her hands.

"Sloppy punch," Naruto said as he used Kami-e to dodge. "But that magic makes it deadly. Learn basic Martial arts and you'll be even deadlier… because…"

Rias began to tire out, and once she threw a punch, Naruto's knee hit her stomach.

But he didn't let her hit the ground, he helped her stand.

"We should probably add stamina training to your regimen too." Naruto said as he continued to help Rias stand.

Rias felt angry… Humiliated... and Motivated.

'He defeated Riser when he was ten years old, all by himself.' Rias thought as she regained her composure, staring at Naruto's back. 'I need to get on his level… or else I will fail.'

"Alright, Asia, your next." Naruto said, gesturing her to come forward.

"I'm actually a noncombatant…" Asia chirped nervously.

Naruto grinned.

"I know, but there is something that you need to learn if you are going to be a good medic." Naruto said with a smile, one much softer and kinder than the sarcastic smirks and grins he had been using. "Tell me, Asia, what is the most important thing for a Field-Medic?"

Asia felt confused.

It was obvious… right?

"To heal peop…"

Naruto made a 'Beeeh' sound while making an X with his fingers.

"You must learn how to dodge." Naruto stated confidently.

"Wait, that doesn't make sense." Issei said in confusion.

"A medic that is out cold can't heal anyone." Naruto explained. "If Asia can't dodge, then she could sustain an injury that could put her down for the fight… or kill her."

"So, what are you going to do?" rias asked. "Throw dodgeballs at her and boost her reflex time?"

"That IS an option, BUT…"

Naruto's body suddenly contorted like paper… for the umpteenth time this morning.

"OOOOh!" Koneko said in surprise. "You're going to teach her Kami-e?"

Naruto nodded.

"Wait, wait, wait…" Akeno said as she approached Naruto. "HOW DO YOU KNOW the mechanics of Field-Medics?"

"My mentor's teammate was a renowned healer." Naruto explained. "And as such, my mentor knew how she thought and worked, and that is one of her teachings."

"Who was this teacher?" Rias asked, genuinely curious.

Naruto's expression lost some of its luster when she asked.

"Jiraiya the Toad Sage." He stated. "Who was teammates with Tsunade, the Slug Princess, Master of Elixar's, and the Worlds Best Healer. Jiraiya once told me some of Tsunade's rhetoric for Healers."

Rias's eyes widened.

THE Jiraiya was Naruto's mentor?

Said Mentor KNEW Tsunade?

'No wonder he is so strong…' Rias thought as Naruto turned to Asia.

"Now, just know… it could hurt the first time you use this technique, so be prepared." Naruto warned.

"Yes, I understand." Asia stated, feeling a rush of excitement.

She wasn't going to learn combat techniques, but an evasion skill.

It was right up her alley.

"And NOW… Issei." Naruto said as he dismissed Asia, turning his attention to the Pawn of Gremory.

"Don't even need to show it or say it…" Issei said in sadness. "I am weak. No training in combat or magic, so we don't need to…"

"There is one thing we should learn." Naruto interrupted.

"What is that?" Issei asked in confusion.

"Rias wants to know your Boost Limit." Naruto said as he pointed to Rias.

"Really?" Issei asked, looking at his King.

"From what Kiba and Koneko told me, you did well against the fallen… only because you took them off guard. With the Ten-Second limitation, you should know the max Limit to your ability."

Issei nodded and raised his left arm as he summoned the Boosted Gear.

"BOOST!" the Gear said when summoned completely.

Naruto waited patiently.

"BOOST!"

…

"BOOST!"

…

"BOOST!"

The Dragon Gauntlet rippled with magic as an unknown seal appeared on the green gem on the back of Issei's hand.

"Huh?" He said in confusion. "Wonder what that means?"

"Probably your max, let's wait." Naruto said as he returned to waiting.

And wait they did.

For nearly a minute.

"Well, seems like four boosts is your current max." Naruto said as he looked at Rias. "I will try to increase that number by three… no, five times."

Issei punched his fist into the gauntlet hand.

"Twenty Boosts, that is my goal." He stated to himself, unable to help himself smile.

The Pawn of Gremory had two goals.

His training goal to learn as much as he could in the ten days granted, which was a broad stroke.

His goal to get Rias out of her arranged marriage.

Afterall… He wanted her breasts to himself.

Chapter 51, DONE!

I had a blast with this chapter.

Naruto had Rias spend… thousands on the Robe of the Fire Rat clothing for her peerage, so she lost a lot of money for a grander goal.

Naruto testing all of the Gremory peerage to see their strengths and weaknesses. Yes, Naruto does state Kiba, Akeno, and Rias should learn basic hand to hand combat, because honestly, it would help them in certain situations… like if they ran out of magic.

Asia learning Kami-e/Paper Art, the Evasion/Dodging skill I feel is a great way to help Asia, since Tsunade in Naruto told Sakura learning to Dodge is more important than healing.
