Erik sprang up, seemingly too fast however since his head started spinning and he had to sit back down.
After regaining his composure he tried again. This time he stood up slowly. Next he looked around. The alley was dirty and only had one exit which lead to a sparsely lit street. From time to time a car was passing by Illuminating the alley for a second before it fell back into darkness.
What happened? How did he get here? Wasn't he just in his apartment?
Hundreds of questions entered his mind, to none of which he knew the answer.
Suddenly a blue square entered his vision. Although it was bright it somehow didn't hurt his eyes which were still used to the darkness. Quite the opposite actually even after closing his eyes he was still somehow able to see the screen.
'A system?' He thought?
'That would mean I have probably reincarnated.'
Somehow Erik was able to keep his composure. Did it have something to do with the system? Even more questions with no answers popped into his mind.
Subsequently to the systems appearance a loading bar appeared on the screen. 10...15...30...50...90...99...

It took around 5 minutes for the bar to be fully filled.
"Ding! Welcome to the Pokémon Trainer system. With this System you will be able to summon and train Pokémon and become the strongest Pokémon trainer in the world."
"No way. A Pokémon system? This is sick!"

The blue screen changed from the loading bar to a new window.

Erick Immediately pressed on summon and an 8m long snake like creature made of rocks materialized before him.
He Immediately took out his Pokédex and scanned the Onix.

Only now Erik noticed, that Onix seemed to feel a little uncomfortable in the narrow alley. He apologized and asked Onix to go into the Pokéball. A red light appeared which enveloped the Pokémon and the Onix disappeared from the alley.
Erik then began to check out his identity papers which where pretty much the same as his old ones except him being an American citizen in this world. After he found out where his building was located he made his way there. His house was located in Staten Island next to the water. His house had a giant garden and one was able to access the water directly. It had a small dock and a boathouse. The house itself was three stories tall and built in a modern style. The whole property was surrounded by a 4m wall with anti burglary features.
After entering the house he looked around. The furniture was very fitting creating a very spacious but not empty looking feeling. He then entered the garden took Onix out and told him that this would be his new home. Since it was late he would continue his conversation with him the next day. Onix, seemingly happy directly burrowed into the ground and created himself a small cave. Erik returned to the house and wet to bed.
