Magical Twins
Chapter 6: The train
The compartment door slid open and the red-haired girl named Alice walked in and asked, "Can I sit here?"
Harry hesitated, then said, "Yes, of course."
Alice smiled her lovely smile and sat down opposite him. "I'm Alice Malfoy, the girl you bumped into in that store."
"I know," Harry said quickly. "I heard you talking to your family. Do you really want to get into Slytherin?'
"Actually," Alice hesitated. But the boy, Harry she knew, was very nice to her. Not like her family said. 'No I do not want that. I'd like to get into Gryffindor, because yes... That's the house where Dumbledore used to be.'
The words rolled off Harry's tongue. "Why do you look so familiar?" he blurted. He bit his tongue. He shouldn't have said that.
But Alice thought exactly the same thing. 'Yes! You look familiar. I've seen you before, but where?' Alice thought deeply. So did Harry, but neither of them knew the answer.
Then the compartment door slid open and a red-haired boy entered. 'Can I sit here? Everything is already full.'
"Um, sure," said Harry and Alice. The boy nodded and sat down next to Alice. 'I'm Ron. Ron Weasley. Who are you?' Ron asked. "Harry Potter," said Harry.
Ron looked at him in shock. "Uh, uh," he said.
'What is?' Harry asked.
'Nothing.' Ron turned to Alice.
"I'm Alice Malfoy," she said politely. 'Nice to meet you.'
Ron looked even more shocked. "Mal-Malfoy?"
Alice nodded. Ron stared at her.
"You don't have to be afraid of me or anything. I'm very different from the rest of my family.' Alice seemed hurt.
"Yes," Harry agreed. 'She is very nice.'
Alice smiled at him. Ron looked a little less suspicious, but the frown that played around his eyebrows was still there.
Alice quickly started on another topic. "Did you see that one Quidditch match between Poland and Hungary?"
"Yes," said Ron. 'That was cool. Although, Poland had to win. That was the best team.'
'No, Hungary. They won fairly.'
"Not true," Ron shouted. 'The referee was bribed!'
'Liar!'
'Stop, stop!' Harry intervened. "Don't you think you're behaving childishly?"
They both seemed ashamed.
"Sorry Ron."
"Sorry Alice."
"Say something," said Harry, wanting to break the silence. "What's your favorite Quidditch team?"
He was immediately bombarded by Alice and Ron shouting that the Cambridge Cannons were the best. Harry was surprised that they agreed that Cambridge Cannons were their favorite.
At one o'clock in the afternoon a plump lady came around with a cart and asked: 'Do you want something from the cart?'
"No, I already have," Ron muttered, pulling out a pitiful packet of sandwiches.
Harry and Alice thought the same.
"We'll take it all," they said in unison, each paying half.
They had difficulty carrying their candy to their compartment.
They dropped it on the couch and immediately started eating.
Ron stared at them. "You must be hungry," he said and laughed. Harry and Alice joined in.
"Come on, have a pumpkin pie," Alice offered Ron when they had finished laughing.
"No, I already have them," and with those words he opened the bag and took the two sandwiches apart.
'Mom always forgets that I don't like corned beef. But yes, there are also nine of us.'
Ron suddenly looked sad.
'What is?' Harry asked.
'Just. When you have five older brothers, you only get castoffs, you're not special anymore and all that. You're just one of the nine. Nothing special.'
'That is not true.' Alice looked at Ron.
"That's really not true."
Ron blushed.
There was a moment of silence, but then the door slid open and a boy with a tear-stained face stood before them.
"Is there anything we can do for you?" Harry looked at the boy.
'H-have you seen a p-pad? I-I lost h-him."
'No sorry. What's your name?' Alice asked.
'N-Neville. Neville Longbottom."
'Oh, hello Neville. I'm Alice and this is Ron and Harry.'
Harry and Ron smiled at Neville. Neville gave a watery smile and said, "When-when you see him, you'll tell me?" and he walked away.
"If I had a toad, I'd want to get rid of it as quickly as possible." Ron wrinkled his nose.
"Ron!" Alice was angry.
'Okay okay. I don't have to say much. I only have one stupid rat.'
He took a gray something out of his pocket and said, 'This is Scabbers. This one was originally from Percy, but he got an owl, you know, because he's a prefect and we didn't have enough gel-I mean now I'm stuck with Scabbers.'
Ron seemed a little uncomfortable and stared out the window again.
Harry and Alice looked at each other. They didn't find it strange at all that someone didn't have enough money to buy an animal. After all, one of Alice's friends wasn't exactly rich either.
But Ron apparently didn't mind.
No need, Harry thought.
"I know something," Alice said, smiling rebelliously.
'What then?' She had the boys' attention.
'Let's turn your rat yellow!'
'Can you do that?' Harry and Ron asked.
"No idea," she said nonchalantly, pulling out her wand.
She cleared her throat just as a girl entered.
'Has anyone seen a toad? Neville's lost his.' She had a bossy voice, a lot of curly hair and rather large front teeth. Then she saw the wand. 'Oh, did you want to do magic? Let's see.' She sat down in front of Alice.
Alice didn't seem fazed.
Alice mumbled something and at first nothing happened, but then a light shone from Scabbers. It became brighter and brighter and no one could see again until the light was gone. And scabies was indeed more yellow. Not really true yellow, but a hint of yellow.
They looked in wonder at Alice, who was staring smugly at the rat.
'I did it!' she cheered.
'I'm Hermione Granger. What's your name?' Hermione asked.
'Alice Malfoy. And that's Ron and there's Harry.'
'Harry? Like THE Harry Potter?'
When Harry nodded she became completely excited. 'Are you serious? I know all about you, of course - I got some books just for extra information and you're in *The Rise and Fall of the Dark Art and in Modern Magical History and in Great Magical Events of the Twentieth Century.'
She said all that very quickly.
'Oh yeah?' Harry asked, bewildered.

"Dear God, didn't you even know that? In your case, I had already checked that for a long time," said Hermione and stood up. 'We just have to move on. Bye Alice, see you later', and she left.
"I hope I don't end up in her department," Ron said, shaking his head, and Alice laughed.
The compartment door slid open again and three boys stood there. Harry didn't recognize two, but he did recognize the boy in the middle. It was Alice's brother. The one that was Slytherin-like. Harry immediately didn't like him because he looked around the compartment as if they were all dirty. Then he looked at Alice and said, 'You shouldn't be sitting here with that one. Come on, come sit with us.' "I get to choose what I do, Draco," Alice said sharply. Ron spluttered. Draco's sharp gaze fell on Ron. 'So you think my name is funny. "I don't need to know who you are, my father already said the Weasleys had red hair and freckles and more children than they could afford." "Draco, that's enough." Alice stood up and said sharply, "Stop it now. Go away.' 'No, because I see you still have candy. And ours is gone, right guys?' Draco grinned widely. "Stop being mean!" Harry stood up. 'Ooo, should we be afraid of little Harry Potter? Is he going to stare at us angrily and call his daddy? Oh wait, that's not possible. Because you have no father!' Draco and the boys laughed. Harry flew into a frenzy and approached Draco, but Alice beat him to it; she ran to her brother and hit him hard in the face. Draco groaned in pain. "You can't get away with this," he threatened. "I will tell father this." and he was gone. 'Alice...' "No, my brother got what he deserved." She sat back down and opened a pack of chocolate frogs.
'The train will arrive in five minutes. "I repeat, the train will arrive at Hogsmeade in five minutes," a female voice echoed through the train.
Harry, Ron and Alice stood there for a moment and then jumped up.
'We are almost there!' they shouted, feeling the excitement growing.
