Dipper anxiously paced across the hospital floor, worry consuming him.

A nurse walked up to Stan, and Dipper turned around instantly.

"Is she okay? She's okay right? Tell me she's okay." Dipper pleaded.

"Mabel's fine, she just sprained her ankle and has a pretty bad bruise on her arm." The nurse smiled sweetly.

Dipper sighed in relief. "Any idea why she's been randomly passing out?"

The nurse shook her head. "No, we have no idea. She's perfectly healthy. In need of slightly more vitamin B, which could cause passing out, but she's not lacking that much of it…"

"Can we see her?" Dipper asked.

"Of course."

The room was small, with a bed near the center, pressed against the wall. His sister was there, peacefully sleeping.

"She still hasn't woken up yet, but she's perfectly fine." The nurse explained.

Dipper breathed slowly, calming himself down.

"Let me know if you need anything." The nurse said, leaving the room.

Mabel slowly opened her eyes. Where was she? She wasn't in the mystery shack anymore.

"Mabel!" Dipper hugged his sister.

"Hey Dipper. What happened?"

It was hard for Mabel to think. The world was so blurry.

"You fell out of a tree. A really, really tall tree."

Mabel could sort of remember being in the tree. She remembered being up high, at least.

Now that she thought about it, she couldn't remember a lot from the past few days. Like hours of her life just…

Didn't exist entirely.

Mabel looked around the room. Her right foot was in immense pain, and her arm was covered in a large bruise.

Mabel reached over with her left hand and touched the large purple spot on her arm. The pain was sort of comforting. It took away from the pain in her leg, at least.

"Wha-Mabel, don't touch that." Dipper winced.

Dipper stared at his sister. She was so quiet.

"Mabel, are you okay?"

Mabel looked at her brother, traces of fear in her eyes.

"...what's been going on the past few days?"

Dipper was a little surprised. This was the most scared he had ever seen his sister without going into sweater town.

The drive back to gravity falls was short, although it seemed to take forever.

Dipper was frantically scribbling in his notebook, trying to figure out what was going on.

Mabel felt dizzy. And tired.

But she couldn't sleep. Not with the knowledge of what would happen if she did.

But how? How was any of this happening?
Wait.

The dream. The weird dream she had a few days ago.

That's when it started.

Mabel began to question whether or not it was truly a dream.

Her mind was racing. Was Bill behind this?

No, he couldn't be. He was gone. Besides, she would know if Bill was doing anything to her.

But then who was that demon? Who tricked her?

Mabel sighed. That was her thing. Getting tricked by otherworldly beings.

Dipper looked at his sister, who had retreated into sweater town.

"Mabel? What's wrong?"

"Mabel's in sweater town." She mumbled.

Dipper frowned in concern. "Mabel, we're going to figure this out. Don't worry."

Mabel left sweater town. "Don't worry? All I can do is worry. I got tricked. Again."

"Wait, what? Mabel, what are you talking about?" Mabel suddenly realized Dipper didn't know about the dream she had.

"I..I had a dream. Some…demon-like-thing made a deal with me. Th-they said we were in danger. I thought it was a dream, but…" She sniffled, tears running down her face. "But it wasn't, was it?"

"Mabel…" Dipper hugged his sister. His seatbelt was in the way, but it didn't matter in the moment.

Dipper smiled softly. "We'll fix this. Me and Ford can figure out how to get rid of the demon. Just try to fight it until then."

Mabell nodded. "Okay."

The car stopped. They were finally back at the mystery shack.

The twins striked up a casual conversation, which quickly turned to giggling.

Stan opened the door to the shack, revealing Soos, who was restocking inventory.

"Oh hey dudes. Mabel, you're back."

"Hey Soos!" Mabel waved excitedly.

Dipper helped his sister over to the man right as the door opened, revealing Wendy.

"Wendy!" Dipper ran up to her, giving her a fist bump.

She smiled."Hey Dip. I heard about what happened. How are you two holding up?" Wendy looked at the little girl, cuddling Waddles.

Dipper thought for a moment. "You know, I'm not actually sure. Mabel's been…kinda all over the place. Both figuratively and literally."

"Ah, fair enough."

Dipper crawled into bed, thinking about all that had happened in the past few days. The past few hours.

Dipper looked at his sister, who had quickly passed out.

Dipper tried to calm himself down.

It was going to be okay. They were going to fix this.

It's all going to be okay.

It's all okay.

Everything's fine.

Mabel found herself in an empty void.

"Mabel, please. Listen. You are in danger-"

"I'm done with your tricks!" Mabel yelled angrily at the demon. "I'm not falling for that again!"

"Mabel, if I could just get a bit more control-"
"No!" She took off running, getting as far away from the demon as possible.

She found herself completely alone in infinite darkness.

She sat down, fear taking over. What was going to happen? Would she stay in the void forever?

She felt like she was going insane.

Everything was wrong.

Everything was her fault.

She closed her eyes. Why couldn't she just rewind time?
If only.

If only.

Mabel awoke slowly. She was exhausted, and a massive headache made it hard to think.

She looked around. She was still in her bed.

She hadn't moved. Something that was rare. Almost every time she fell asleep, she always woke up in a completely different place.

But then…

What was the demon up to? Mabel wasn't about to trust whoever they were.

She was thirsty, but she wasn't about to get up. Not with her sprained ankle, and certainly not with the demon doing who knows what.

She could barely keep her eyes open. The world was so…

Heavy. Blurry.

Painful.

She just wanted to fall asleep, to skip to the next morning. But what would the demon do?

What was it planning?

Mabel finally couldn't fight the sleepiness anymore. She closed her eyes, instantly falling back asleep.

Mabel made it about two steps down the stairs before the demon took over.

She tore herself out of Dipper's grip, bolting out the door.

Dipper stood in shock for a second, then chased after the girl.

The forest was big and easy to get lost in, but that wasn't exactly on either of the two's minds.

The girl ran deeper into the forest, trying to escape.

Dipper thought for a moment. What would a demon want?

The demon obviously wanted something, but Dipper couldn't figure out what. Every time the demon took over Mabel, all it seemed to do was do casual things or run.

"Listen!" Dipper shouted. "I-I'll give you anything, just get out of my sister!" He wasn't entirely sure he would keep that promise, but he was desperate.

The demon stopped.

"...Anything?" They turned, still wary of the boy.

Dipper held firm. "Yeah, anything." He half-lied.

The demon thought for a moment. Dipper was incredibly nervous.

"Well, I want a lot of things. You'll have to be more specific." They finally said.

Dipper felt a bit annoyed at this answer. "Name one. One I can get you that would make you leave my sister alone."
"Oh! That's easy then." The demon smiled in a slightly unsettling way. "I'd need an alternate inhabitable body to take!"

Dipper stared in silence for a moment. "Uhh, and I find that how exactly?"

"Well, there are a lot of people in Gravity Falls."

"Wait, you want me to trade someone else for Mabel? That's not fair, I can't-"
"You said anything. It doesn't matter who."

Dipper looked around nervously. "A-are you sure there's nothing else you want?"

The demon thought about this. An alternative?

But…

That would mean going back.

"...No." They said finally.

Dipper sighed reluctantly. "Alright, just give me a few days to think. And no possessing my sister that whole time, okay?"

The demon nodded. "So it's a deal then."

Dipper knew what this meant. Making a deal with a demon was basically asking for trouble.

But did he have a choice?

"No tricks?" Dipper asked, knowing the demon was going to lie, but at least he could stall before sealing his fate.

The demon thought for a moment. "You have 3 days. No tricks, no possessing. Correct?"

"Yeah, sounds good.." Dipper lied.

They reached out their hand. Dipper could have sworn Mabel's eyes were glowing purple, but maybe it was just his imagination.

"Deal." He shook the demon's hand, already regretting his decision.
