Chapter One

Whoever this device choses will be the one to save the endangered universe. The courage, dignity, and determination of the chosen will be the hope of defeating the evil. No matter the generation or culture, the entire universe will rest upon you and your chosen allies.

The last remaining fighter ends the statement there, only keeping the main point across. With four walkie-talkie like devices, each with the same encrypted message in his sack, the fighter puts the fifth one along with the rest. Time is running out, and the monsters will ambush him at any moment. For years, the devourers of the universe have run amok and the Fighters for Sentient Life have protected the universe for so long. Until the monsters got stronger. Planets have been dried of life. Stars were dimming away, and catastrophic space storms roared across the universe. So far, five galaxies have been burned into nothing but inhospitable space storms. All of his allies have died fighting off against the threat, and all that stands is him and the enemy.

As of now the fighter is in the gray cathedral marking a message on all five futuristic devices. These devices allow the user to travel different parts of any planet they are on. Whether it is in the past, present, future, or an entirely different world of the same galaxy. The fighter soon hears a noise, he looks at the top catwalk and sees a green brute with horns hitting his fists.

"If it ain't the last fighter," said the brute as he hops off to make a ground attack, with the fighter rolling away in response. The brute got up as he dusted away himself saying, "give it up, human. This galaxy is ours, the best you can do is accept it. I'll make it quick for you."

"Like hell I will," growled the fighter.

"Slow and painful it is then," responded the brute as he charged at the fighter. The two immediately got into a fist fight, which was extremely quick with the fighter hitting the right weak spots on the monster with his plasma pistol. The fighter immediately dashed away after injuring his opponent.

"Keep running little man," roared the green skinned brute, "cause it will be to your own grave."

The fighter ignored the taunt and had all of his attention on his bike. All he needs is to get to the galaxy transport. From there, he needs to put the five devices in the teleporter and set the destination to the milky way galaxy. As he stepped on his bike and raced through the deserted landscape of the planet, he remembered what the grand traveler told him. It was the same time when the entire universe was falling apart. "Rodgey, this is a darkest time for us all. The universe now depends on five young sentient beings. And they are found in the milky way galaxy, send a message to them and most important of all, do not give up on them. The five need guidance for this sudden destiny, and you are the one."

"I won't let you down, traveler," Rodgy whispered to himself as he rode towards the temple. It would be much harder than he realized as he heard stomping of paws behind him. In his mirror he saw overly grown rabbits the same size as his bike, roaring as green saliva drooled from their mouths. The riders were the same green skinned brutes, yelling as they shed their swords, "after him," the one in the front shouted, "and make him scream!" The brutes let out a massive roar, causing the mutant rabbits to hop faster.

Rodgy had all of his attention on the temple as it's still in his sights. In order to slow the monsters down, he threw a cloud bomb behind him as it blew the moment it made impact. Behind Rodgy was a giant cloud of dark orange smoke. Nothing came out from the cloud, but it didn't break Rodgy's sight of the temple as he was closer to it.

By the time he finally reached the temple he quickly ran inside and started saying, "close and secure the temple."

"Affirmative," answered a robotic female voice, "temple in lockdown." The door behind Rodgey slammed shut as the fighter was now locked inside the diamond decorated temple. In front of him was a small pool, it was the transport of essential devices to planets across the universe. Next to the pool was a holographic pad, which allows the user to mark the locations on where the essentials should be teleported to. First Rodgy takes out the five devices from his bag and places them on the pool. The devices sit on the surface of the pool instead of sinking. That's because Rodger needs to confirm where he wants the devices to be teleported to before the magical machine performs the transaction. After placing the devices on the pool, Rodgy then walks to a holographic screen.

"Galaxy; Milky Way," he says, "planet; Earth." Soon the pool lit up as a ray of light shines up in the sky with a robotic voice saying, "transporting essentials to the planet earth in the milky way galaxy."

A sound of glass shattering was heard as the fighter looked up and immediately dodged the crashing pile of diamond from falling onto him, seeing the same hulking brute earlier.

"You humans and your fancy toys," it said, "are nothing against me, the horror!"

"Well you're too late," said the fighter as he holds a golden orb behind him, "cause once the other travelers find their five chosen, all of you abominations won't stand a chance."

"Then i'll have my fun with you first," as the horror ran at Rodgy, in which the fighter answered with a fist, as the horror swiped and headbutted Rodgy. The fighter lost his posture as the world spun and felt the horror lifted him up and soon blackness was all Rodger could see.

After the horror slammed Rodgy into the diamond floor head fist, he saw a golden aura surrounding the dead fighter for a few minutes before disappearing. He scoffed it off and walked to the pool to see the devices are no longer there. Assuming that the devices are already teleporting to another world he said to the corpse, "you think five puny humans or whatever weak xenos can stop us?" The horror then laughed, "false hope, I like it! Cause I'll look forward to whatever those five xenos I'll face. Which means more stuff to kill, and best of all, the ones that fight back!"

Although Rodgy's physical form is shut down, the orb that evaporated into his hand was able to save his spiritual life before the horror made the last kill. As he watches the horror mock him and leave the temple, all he can do is smirk. He looks up at the sky as he uses his enchanted sight to pierce through the roof of the temple and into the stars of space. The stars are slowly but surely going away, but it doesn't worry him any more. He knew the grand traveler understood another 'dark' age for the apocalypse. However, the grand traveler also said that six chosen from different eras will learn to unite and conquer the devourers of the universe. That alone sets Rodgey's soul at peace, he knows that the six will bicker and argue. Besides, a destiny like this is incredibly strenuous. But at the end of the day, all that matters is the victory.

Rodgy can only wander throughout the universe and speak to the sentients, but he will still play a part in aiding the fight against the devourers.
