"No, that's not it, Scourge. It's because all it would take is a bit of selflessness... a little bit of decency... and you'd be just like me."
The planet Moebius; armed and uniformed soldiers of the Kingdom of Acorn were descending on a discovered ancient temple. The Kingdom had been ruled firmly by King Maxx but peace and justice persisted throughout his reign and what was known as the Great Peace. However his young rebellious and wicked natured daughter led a coup and banished him to a dimension known as the Void so that she could take over.
Said Princess clad in her dark blue uniform and holding her whip weapon led her army personally with a firm serious look on her face; Princess Sally had at her side her personal Suppression Squad who acted as her personal enforcers as she began a reign of tyranny. Her right hand men was Antoine D'Coolette who despite being his age was her captain of the guard and there was Miles Prowler who was a technological genius despite his youth.
The soldiers went forward and reported that the entrance had already been breached; they looked taken abck but slowly entered through but there was a blue blur that ended up knocking out most of the guards leaving only Sally and her 2 main enforcers. "You... You are here to steal my prize..." Sally muttered furiously and in front of them with a cheesy grin was the super fast blue furred hedgehog with sunglasses and a leather jacket that served as the ultimate thorn in their sides. "That Chaos Emerald is mine... I need it and the others to expand my rule to all of Moebius... Hand it over now..." demanded Sally but Sonic the main thorn of rebellion to her tyranny and hope for the oppressed subjects of the kingdom.
"Aw... But Doc Kintobor and I have been collecting these legendary artefacts and we just need this one to have the whole set... Can you please do me a solid and let me be?" Sonic grinned as Antoine went forward with his sword furiously. "Seriously Patch... Did you actually poke your eye out with that blade and that's why you have to wear that thing?" Sonic asked joking dodging Antoine's attempted attacks and enraging his foe who hated the mocking nickname bestowed upon him thanks to the eyepatch that he wore.
One headbutt to the gut knocked him out; "I have been working on making my beams more effective hedgehog..." ranted Miles furiously as he used the mechanical tail attachments to his own twin tails to go together and aim a blast at Sonic firing a large beam and Sonic dodged it. Tails muttered furiously but then soon enough he got an error alert that it was over heating and it caused him to disengage the attachments in a panic.
Leaving him open for an attack to knock him out.
"Incompetence... Must I have to do everything around here..." Sally muttered furiously as she then got Sonic entangled with her whip. She the grinned and picked up the Chaos Emerald. "Such wasted potential being Kintobor's little hero... You could have better served by my side... It's more fun to oppress than to protect the weaklings... Strong ruling over the weak... Not too late to accept the spot next to my side in ruling Moebius..." Sally offered Sonic but shook her head.
"Sorry but I am not into the whip play and besides... I already have a girlfriend... You should know as she used to work for your little squad and was faithful before you tossed her out..." Sonic then then retorted as Sally frowned shaking her head.
"Her disease was making her weak... Weakness has no place in my vision of Moebius..." Sally then told him as Sonic shook her head.
"You left her heartbroken and angry; after all the time that she followed your lead and thought that she had friends... You turned her back on him and the rest did without remorse..." Sonic said as Sally shook her head.
"Sentimental garbage..." Sally shook her head but Sonic started grinning. "Why are you grinning?" Sally asked as Sonic whistled.
"Just so you know... Bunnie has been eager for payback..." Sonic then said as a rabbit teenage Mobian in a purple leotard with cyborg shells over her limbs came out and then managed to punch at Sally incredibly hard and Sally then got her whip ready to attack.
Sonic then went and got the Chaos Emerald from Sally's hand and this distracted her long enough for Bunnie to knock her out with a punch. "Yah totally let her catch you in her whip when you could have easily taken her out yourself without me." Bunnie told Sonic who grinned at her.
"And not let you have any of the fun? Plus I wanted to see you both duke it out..." Sonic said with his grin becoming cheesy as Bunnie lightly punched him on the shoulder. "Come on let's go before the reinforcements get here..." Sonic then said taking Bunnie bridal style and then heading off at super speed.
Dr Ovi Kintobor's tower in the Great Forest; protected by a forcefied and was the home and base of the kind roboticist and vet Dr Ovi Kintobor who was Sonic's mentor as well as using his tower to treat victims of Princess Sally's tyranny as well as offering sanctuary. The human scientist smiled as he put the Chaos Emerald with the other 6 in a protective chamber.
"All 7 Chaos Emeralds... With this power... We should be able to have the power of the Botnik army directly fuelled by the energy of all 7 Emeralds together... You both can lead them and free the kingdom from the accursed Princess' tyranny... We can work on creating a new government with free elections... A new Great Peace is upon us!" Kintobor told Sonic and Bunnie eagerly who smiled at him.
"Hopefully I can find something to do afterwards... The Princess and her goons are the only bad guys here in Moebius and what's a hero without a villain..." Sonic then said smiling at the doctor who took him in and acted as the closest father figure that he had. His own father was a highly ranked noble and was a good man all about peace and helped architect the Great Peace but it left him with little time for his own son. He died in the coup orchestrated by the Princess and Sonic was left with issues that the two of them would never be able to have the chance to sort out.
He could think about that and how his birth father would probably be proud of all that he had done; breaking out innocent civilians falsely imprisoned, destroying weapons of war and thwarting the schemes of Sally to gain more ground. He would have plenty of time to think it over after that because there really wasn't any big threats for Moebius to be weary of. Sally was close but would there be a need for a hero.
"Don't be like that... You will always be mah hero Sonic... Ah remember when I felt my NIDS affecting my limbs... Trying to ignore it but collapsing with my limbs hurting during a patrol... I called the Squad mah friends but they looked at me with scorn to die without a single thought... Ah thought that ah finally had friends when the Princess found me in my little old village and saw how good a fighter ah was with my training... Lonely and she used that to recruit me... Ah thought that ah was a gonna but you; our old enemy who we had traded blows with... Offered me a hand and took me to the tower... Our past forgotten and no grudges as the doctor treated me and gave me my parts to continue on as ah had before... You became my hero and ah want to spend my life with you..." Bunnie told Sonic taking his arm affectionately and kissing him on the cheek.
The doctor left his two young charges to themselves as Sonic embraced Bunnie and thought of a future in the peace that they will bring together; growing older and raising children together. Maybe there will be a future for him there; better than being some sort of evil king over Moebius.
A little oneshot that came to me as I read an article and saw a bit of a video talking about how Archie Sonic turned the famous Killing Joke quote on its head. Some changes to Moebius here like how Bunnie resembles her usual self more and Miles has the tail attachments of Nine from Sonic Prime.
Put this together while putting together ideas for a new Sonic story that will hopefully stick this time. Back to my well with Sonic X Sally being the main pairing with a bit of early Archie/Fleetway to it and you will see what I mean when I do it. Plus I wanted to try Sonic X Bunnie for a while and it feels weird writing Sally like this when off course it's Evil/Anti Sally.
