AN: "Expect Updates Every 2-3 Weeks."
-Me, 7 months ago.
That really aged well right? Sorry for the massive gap in chapter updates, that's on me. Story isn't dying. So uh, have fun reading and don't worry about this fic dying. I won't let it.
"Excuse me sir, have you by chance seen a young man with black and brownish hair? He's this tall." Iris stood up on her tippy toes and held a hand above her head.
Claire, observing from across the street, squealed in joy from witnessing such a sight for herself. Although she wished the circumstances were different. Instead of such an adorable act being done for a despicable man like him, she would've loved it if the Princess did it for her instead. It deeply irritated her.
However she had more pressing issues to worry about for now. Just where had Kazuma gone?
She and Darkness had run into both Megumin and Iris on the streets of Axel's Market District. Upon hearing the news that Kazuma was potentially somewhere nearby, they immediately started asking around, well, Iris did. Claire reluctantly searched too before stopping shortly after. Megumin struck up a conversation with Darkness instead.
"So, where's Rain? She did come along right?" She asked, noticing the lack of the final member.
"Yeah, she did." Darkness answered.
"So where is she?
"What do you mean? She's right- " Darkness looked around. "Huh? Did she disappear?"
"About that." Claire interrupted. "I asked her to stay back and keep an eye on that girl, just in case."
"What girl?" Megumin asked.
"Some drunkard who saw where Kazuma-dono went and gave us directions." Claire said, observing Iris.
"Oh, you did? I must be losing my touch if I didn't notice her gone. Megumin?"
"What is it?"
"Let's go on a quest once we find Kazuma, it's been far too long since we've had a good fight! I would really love to brush up on my skills…heh." Darkness said with rosy cheeks.
"Can I use my explosion?" Megumin asked, earning a look of pure fear from Claire.
"Explosion?! A spell that destructive on a regular quest?! Respectfully, are you crazy?!"
Darkness pondered for a moment, completely ignoring Claire. "O-Only if you keep it at a bare minimum." Her reason was ultimately blocked by the desire of wanting to relieve the pent up stress.
"Huh?!" Yelped out a very frightened and horrified Claire.
"No deal." Megumin denied the offer. Claire let out a sigh of relief.
"Great now let- h-huh?! Why?!"
"I'll only go if I get to unleash a massive one, there's no point in going if I won't be able to go all out! This is non-negotiable!" Megumin crossed her arms into an X.
"W-What!?"
"Hmm? What's wrong Claire? You look a little sick." Megumin said.
"Oh- are you fine Claire-dono? We can go back to the mansion if you're feeling ill."
"Ahah… I'm fine, don't worry about me." Claire forced a smile.
"Great! Just make sure to tell us if you do come down with a sickness." Darkness told Claire before turning to Megumin.
"Megumin, I agree to your terms but as long as it's far away from here."
"…Fine" Megumin reluctantly extended her hand. Darkness did so as well and the two shook hands.
"Deal." An agreement was made.
"…" The only sane person there was at a loss of words. Just what happened to their common sense?
"…I'll go watch over Ir-Alice-sama." Claire looked around, spotting Iris across the street. "Alice-sama, don't stray too far from me! You don't want to get separated in these crowds!" She yelled, getting the attention of the undercover Princess.
"But I need to know where Onii-sama went! You understand don't you Claire!?" The not so undercover Princess yelled from across the street before disappearing into a crowd.
"W-Wait up Alice-sama! If you get lost, stay in one place! I'll find you!" Claire yelled, running into the same crowd in a desperate attempt to find Iris.
Darkness and Megumin watched as Claire shoved through the crowd. "That underling of mine sure is impatient. Maybe she should take an example from my greatness and learn something from it. I'm really patient! I haven't used explosion in over two days!" Said the prideful terrorist.
"Please don't call someone like Alice-sama your underling."
"But she doesn't mind at all. Frankly I think you're just just ruining the fun. Did your noble blood finally start kicking in? Will you finally gain some elegance and start behaving like a normal functioning member of society and not just some perverted knight?" Megumin teased.
"What are you talking about!? I'm already a functioning member of society! I may be a knight, but I most certainly still hold elegance and manners! You on other hand can't be talking about elegance! Don't be a hypocrite!"
"Just what are you implying!? That I'm some slob just because I didn't grow up in some danky old manor?! Hey where you are going!? Continue arguing with me!"
"I'm going to look for Alice-sama so we can start having some fun together." Darkness walked away but Megumin stopped her.
"I don't think she cares about having fun, all she wants to do is find Kazuma. It's really starting to get on my nerves. Seriously, I know that we'll have more fun with him here, but all she does is constantly look around for him. It's only been a couple of weeks since they've last seen each other."
"…Do you think he did something stupid again?" Megumin asked.
"…" Darkness didn't say a word.
"Darkness?"
"Ha… Megumin! I just remembered I got summoned by my father this morning! Sorry but I gotta go."
"I thought you finished all your noble duties already." Megumin stated at Darkness, skepticism very clearly taking hold over her voice.
"I-I did! This one is just unrelated."
Megumin didn't buy it. "Did something come up?"
"Oh, nothing!" Darkness forced a smile. "When they come back, just tell them that I had to go back home to do something and to continue the tour without me. So, you have to show them around town!" She flashed a warm smile. "Please?"
"…Only if I get to choose the next quest we go on."
"Deal." Another deal was made.
"Thank you! I'll be going now!" Darkness waved and left running.
"…Weird." Megumin tried thinking about how strange Darkness was acting. Unfortunately, "Heh… explosions…" she couldn't exactly focus.
"Explosion…heh. Perfect score… I need my staff. I need Kazuma… I'm worried…"
"Megumin-san!" A woman came by and greeted Megumin.
"Sorry I'm late, I got held up." She bowed.
Megumin, completely confused as to why some random woman is bowing to her, said, "Do I know you?"
"H-Huh?"
"Is this that scam where people pretend to know you and then secretly swindle you? Just so you know I'm already aware of your tactics and it won't work."
"W-What? It's me-"
"Oh! You must be a tourist! Do you want my autograph from the great and mighty Megumin!? The Legendary Mage who annihilated the Demon King's forces?" Megumin took out a stamp she had prepared for this very purpose.
"I don't have anything to write with right now, but I can use this cool stamp I bought a couple days ago. Where should I use it?"
"I-It's me, Rain." She took off her hat.
"Oh…" Megumin pocketed the stamp, a little disappointed.
"Do I really look like a regular tourist…?" Rain looked at her outfit again. She sighed after a moment. "She really was right… My fashion sense is outdated. I guess wearing the same uniform every day and not choosing for myself might've dulled any sense of fashion I had. Maybe I should listen to her advice and mix it up from here on out. Is there a good clothing store in Axel? I wonder if…" Rain started rambling.
"Rain?" Megumin was promptly ignored by Rain.
"H-Huh?"
"Let's go find Claire and Alice. I have somewhere I want to show you guys! It'll be a blast!"
"Uh- sure. Where's La-Darkness?"
"Oh, she had to go home. Noble duties and stuff." Megumin shrugged. "Sucks for her, oh well. Let's get moving."
"Noble duties? But she told us she was already done."
"Apparently this one is unrelated to all the other mountains of paperwork."
"Hrk!- Paperwork…" Rain shivered, her eyes wincing in psychological pain. "…Never again. Why do I need to know the best mathematical equation of calculating an enemy's distance on the horizon line? We have archers for that… Did I miss out on some training? Why was there so many math problems on the forms? It felt more like homework than important paperwork. I'm her teacher for crying out loud, I'm supposed to be giving the equations, not solving them! Paperwork… no more please. Only a fourth of the way done? Thank you for reminding me Claire. You finished yours already? That's greaaaat, now please leave me alone. I need to get this to the council by… today?! Ahahahah…" A couple of tears leaked from her eyes.
Megumin, watching from the side, tapped Rain's shoulder, causing her to turn around spastically.
"…Rain? Let's just get moving."
"Haha… good idea. -Actually, can we go to some stores first? I want to properly see what Axel has with my very own eyes."
"I guess we can do that first…" Megumin mumbled, disappointed.
"Great!" Rain said, a bit excited. "What's the best clothing store here?"
Megumin couldn't help but feel like she's going to watch Rain go on her shopping spree for the next couple hours. She already felt bored out of her mind.
"Welcome back brat." Vanir welcomed me back to the store with an uncanny smile. "Moi takes it you have business tonight?" His smile grew more eerie.
"Uhh, yes…?"
"Oooh! Is it something important and cool?" Eris, still working from her spot, asked.
"N-None of your business! Jeez, do you always have to be so nosy? Haven't you seen enough of my life already?"
"Wha-! F-Fine! I didn't want to know anyways!" Eris pouted and resumed her work. "Damn NEET…" She whispered under her breath.
It seems this bothersome girl just said something I couldn't ignore.
"…You know, you're stealing more traits from that blue haired nuisance I so dearly adore. Not just from her too, that whole chunni performance you sprung just reeked of another bothersome girl to me."
Eris' movements came to a stop. "Just what are you implying dear Kazuma?"
"Was it just me that you were spying on? Or were the girls being spied on too?"
"Pfffft!" Eris let out a laugh for some reason. "As if Megumin and Darkness have interesting lives!"
Eris turned around and faced me, wagging her finger up and down at me. "You should know this already, you are their leader!"
"Megumin is all about explosions. She constantly thinks about explosions and how to get a perfect rating from you. I kid you not, one time I tuned into her thoughts and the first thing I heard was about her wanting to blow up Alcerentia. Ahah… please keep her under control."
"Noted."
"As for Darkness…" Eris' eyes went from bright and cheery, to one's filled with horror and distress. "I stopped tuning into her thoughts ever since she joined your party and once I made sure you weren't a total scumbag."
"Thanks for the compliment."
Eris ignored my comment and continued. "Once the Demon King was defeated, I tuned into her thoughts once more to make sure she was enjoying all the celebrations. Ahah…"
Eris looked me straight in the eyes. "I always knew Darkness had a few quirks ever since I've met her, but I never thought it was a big deal.
"I was so wrong…" Her voice quivered, "She used words that even I don't know to describe horrible and violent acts that she… lusted to be done to her. All in great detail. Extremely accurate detail..."
Eris stared blankly at the ceiling. "...I've seen a lot during my time as a Goddess, I've seen the most evil of beings with my very own eyes, all committing atrocities that I would never wish on anyone-"
"BUT WHAT SHE WAS LUSTING FOR!" Eris yelled out, causing me to flinch! Her eyes twitched like a psychopath! She even sounded like one!
"NOT EVEN THOSE MONSTERS WILL GO THAT FAR!"
"WHY DOES DARKNESS WANT TO BE-"
"Hey! Cut it out! I don't want to know that! Please shut up!"
"AHHHHH! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I CAN'T DO IT ALONE ANYMORE! PLEASE I NEED YOU TO KNOW AS WELL! MAYBE THEN IT WON'T BE AS AGONIZING!" Eris snapped out of her chair!
"STOPPP! LEAVE ME THE HELL OUT OF THIS!"
"STOP COVERING YOUR EARS KAZZY!"
LURK. LURK. LURK. LURK…!
"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE FROM ME!"
Eris grappled me! She grabbed my arms and forced my ears open!
Turns out lurk doesn't work in a well lit room. Who could've thought?
"Hrk…!" My arms were stuck in her vice grip! Drain Touch won't reach and my mana supplies were dry!
I have to resort to other means!
"GET OFF ME YOU CRAZY DRUNKARD!"
Pleading.
"PLEASE! PLEASE! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT SHE'S INTO FOR THE LOVE OF-"
"Now-now Kazzy." Eris called me by the weird nickname again, her voice thankfully returning back to normal.
"You said we were in this together right?" She flashed me a smile. "So let's split the pain on this one!" It morphed into an evil grin! Horrifying!
W-Wait! That smile! I've seen it before! No…! It can't be!
"It'll be fun Kazzy!"
She's one of those!
I looked to the only other person that can save me from this mess. "VANIR! HELP ME!" The devil flashed me with the same psychopathic smile that Eris just did!
For the next hour the room was filled with my pleads of mercy and Vanir's unsettling laughter. I couldn't look at Eris the same anymore after hearing her say such vulgar and repulsive words to describe things I never knew were possible. I couldn't look at Darkness at all anymore. Just what kind of crap are nobles into?!
"The negative emotions of this Goddess are surprisingly different from the other one. Containing more of a punch than flavor. Moi enjoys it…" Vanir savored Eris' emotions in the corner of the room.
"As for your emotions, they've gone stale. Have thou tried meditation?" Vanir said to the very annoyed me.
Eris had calmed down after dumping everything she knew onto me and resumed her work.
Maybe her getting traumatized was an act of karma? I know for sure she won't be snooping in Darkness' thoughts now.
Maybe I should do something to protect my own thoughts.
"Yo, Vanir, do you have something to block out holy powers?" I asked Vanir, who was still savoring his meal of the day. Eris also looked at me with a look of disapproval before continuing her work.
The Devil flashed me a smile. "Why yes Moi does have something in stock for you, my valued customer! Moi will grab it right now." Vanir looked unusually pleased as he started digging through boxes.
"Say Kazuma, what exactly are you planning to do with something like that? You are going to use it for thieving right?" Eris asked.
"Yep, I definitely am."
I lied.
"Great!" She bought it.
A moment later Vanir came back with an accessory usually seen in Japan. A Halloween accessory. A single pair of Red Demon Horns, the kind you wear for a costume or cosplay. They were made of plastic.
"Are you serious? That's it? Can't you guys sell something that fits the theme for once?"
"Unfortunately Moi is 100% serious and Moi can't control the shopkeep's reckless spending. If thou has a complaint, file it in the appropriate bin." He pointed to a trash can with a cardboard box on top of it where the words "Complaint Box" were hastily scribbled across.
Surprisingly, there were only a couple pieces of paper inside. With foresight, the tiny letters were clearly visible. One read; 'No uniforms, might I suggest a low top and mini skirt maid uniform?'. The others were almost exactly the same. Someone must've forgotten to include me in this important movement!
Vanir cleared his throat, grabbing my attention. "Ahem, this product is just what you were looking for!" Vanir put on a salesman act. "It's small, fashionable, and easy to use!" He put the horns on, a very dim and almost unnoticeable purple light emitted from it.
"You can be the happiest adventurer alive for the low price of-"
"You can stop now. Did Wiz put you up to this?"
"Thou is correct! This of course is another result of her abysmal sense of business. Although the act of Moi showcasing the product did boost sales for a short time. Moi figured you would fall for it."
Unlike the average customer Vanir entertains, I myself have mastered the ways of fending off door-to-door salesmen.
"Just tell me what's wrong with the damn thing already."
Vanir looked a little offended that I didn't humor him. "Very well, for starters, this thing falls off rather easily, the defense it provides against holy powers is mediocre, and it glows in the dark."
"Is-"
Vanir cut me off. "But it is enough to shield you from the eyes of a certain Goddess."
"Huh? How do you know about that?"
"Moi is a Devil, we are enemies by nature, of course Moi would know about something as trivial as their tendency to watch over their flock. Besides, Moi has been noticing that you have a different holy aura around you. Not from the Alcoholic, her power is more potent. The one around you is completely different, it has less power but is bigger in quantity."
"It's from your drunk acquaintance." Vanir stated the obvious and looked at Eris. Seriously? What other God would want to spy on me?
"But we both already knew that. Moi found out earlier than you did, so as business partners, Moi decided to bless thou with some privacy."
"Privacy? What are you getting at?" This Devil was spouting nonsense.
"Moi will cut to the chase. That brat has been watching you for a very long time. Moi had sensed it from our first meeting but had disregarded it as the doing of the blue one. Over time, Moi had become accustomed to the power and aura of your Goddess and had been able to differentiate the two auras apart from each other. It seems that the Eris Sect's Goddess had been keeping an eye on you, and only you."
*SCREECH*
A chair screeched across the floor, specifically the chair Eris was sitting on.
"Watch the floor you imbecile! Does thou not have basic manners!?" Vanir scolded her as she kept screeching the floor.
"…How?" Eris, ominously said as she finally stood up from her chair. "How did you know it was me." She demanded answers.
Vanir walked over to her. "Poor brat." The Devil gave the Goddess a sympathetic pat on the head, earning himself a growl.
"You concentrated too much of your power on spying on my business partner that I was easily able to detect you. Moi noticed that the same aura was pouring out of your churches. It was as simple as putting two and two together!" Vanir let out a chuckle.
"Ughhhhhhh…! All because I wanted better quality!?" Eris groaned, face palming out of annoyance.
"Correct! And ever since Moi's discovery, I've hidden Anti-Holy Scrolls crafted from the deepest pits of Hell to block that annoying signal of yours!" Vanir smiled.
Eris glared at Vanir. "So it was YOU! YOU'RE THE REASON WHY THE SIGNAL CUT OUT AT THE BEST PARTS!" She yelled, attempting to strangle Vanir, but he dodged out of the way.
"Hoho! Moi had stuck them in this shop and other places where Moi deemed fit! For example, the boy's bedroom, bathroom and bath! No peeping for you! A Goddess must be proper and let her favorite source of entertainment have some privacy! No need to be perverted! That's his job!" Vanir taunted both of us.
"Oi. Eris."
"Wha- WAIT! Put the hand down! Please! I didn't mean it like that! Honest!" Eris grabbed the poor chair and tried covering herself with it. She failed horribly.
"Steeeeeal!"
"Nooooooooooo…!"
"*Sniff* *Sniff*Meanie…" A defeated Eris moped at her workstation.
After I've had my fun, I tapped Vanir on the shoulder. He turned to look at me. "Thank you so much." I unknowingly shed a tear, finally being able to rest easy knowing that Eris didn't get to see my most vulnerable moments. "Is there anything I can do to repay you?"
"No need for reimbursement! Moi has already put the costs on your tab!" He laughed at me.
Well, fair enough.
A fearful thought struck me. "Psst… did you use one at the café?" I whispered, careful not to let Eris' hear me.
"Moi has about fifty in that establishment. Your worries are alleviated." Vanir grinned.
"Thanks bro."
"*Sniff* W-Why do you look like you're about to cry."
"I don't!" I wiped away a couple of tears that had formed.
"Very well, will you be purchasing these abominations?" Vanir asked, shaking the glow in the dark Demon Horns.
"Huh? I'm not buying it after finally getting some piece of mind. I have my privacy-"
"You're still very much visible in any place that I haven't mentioned." Vanir interrupted.
"Then just sell me one of those fancy scrolls. I'm not going to waste money on some stupid thing when I can just buy something that does the job ten times better."
"Those scrolls are stationary and won't work if they are constantly moved. They need time to adapt to a single location in order to function."
I looked at Eris and sighed. "Do I really need them? It's not like she's spying on me right now." Eris flinched.
"…"
"…Oi."
"Y-Yes?" Eris stuttered.
"Do you know something I don't?"
"Haha… nooo- Okay! Okay! I'll tell!" Eris looked away. "My TV is probably still recording you since I forgot to turn it off before I fell asleep…"
"Ughhhhh…!"
Vanir, taking the opportunity to swindle me, came into view, a stupid smile on his face. "Thou still has a discount from our deal, the price shouldn't worry you with it."
"I'm not buying it."
"…"
An idea popped into my head.
"Oi, Eris."
"*Sniff* W-What? I'm almost done with these. Please just give me a minute." She continued working much to my dismay.
"A wonderful product like this one comes once a lifetime! Don't waste your time on the other brat!"
I had to endure Vanir's relentless sales pitches for the next ten minutes. Is the shop going down under?
"Aaaaalright! I'm finally done with these thief outfits!" Eris excitedly held up her work.
She handed me a set of black clothing. "That's yours. And this is mine." She took her own set and then stared at it.
"Heh…" She had a dumb smile plastered on her face. She must be really proud of her work this time.
"Great, now that you're done." I extended my hand to her. "GIve me your hand."
"What? Why?" She looked at me strangely.
"Just do it."
"Al-Alright, I trust you." She placed her hand on my palm.
"…" A moment of silence passed. I was too busy calculating how much mana I needed to scythen from her to say anything.
"J-Jeez if you wanted to hold my hand so bad, you could've just said so! Haha." She tried breaking the awkward silence.
"…S-So, what do you need- EEEK!" Eris tried to escape my drain touch grasp, despite her superior strength I was still able to hold her hand for a couple more seconds.
"Gah!" She finally escaped after a couple more seconds, well after I let her go.
"What was that for!?" She yelped out, tears forming at the corner of her eyes.
I'm getting major Aqua vibes from her. Next thing you know she'll start calling me a Hiki-NEET.
"That felt icky! Never do that again!"
"Calm down! I just needed some mana. That's all."
"Then why didn't you say so instead of violating me!?" She whined.
"Because I know you never would have agreed to it."
"…" She pouted and turned away.
Since when do drunks have completely different personalities from their sober counterparts? The Eris I know would've let me use some of her mana without complaining.
I'm actually wondering how I act when I'm drunk. I looked at the pouting Eris.
…Hopefully I'm not too different from my normal self.
"*Sniff* Stupid Kazuma, messing-"
I silently finished my chant before placing my hand on her shoulder.
"H-Huh?" Eris turned to look at me, before turning her head back with a hmph. "Oh, it's you. I demand an apology! Right this instant-"
"Teleport."
"No! No! No! NO!" Eris scurried around the place, panic engulfing her.
"Calm down, will you!? I thought you would've loved to be back in your room!"
She glared at me. "You idiot!" She ran up to me. "Take us back now! We need to get out of here immediately!"
I pointed at her monitor which was still turned on. "But what about the TV? Just turn it off for me."
She gave me one of those 'Are You Braindead?' stares.
"Teleport us out NOW! Before we get caught! Hurry up! DO IT!" Her voice was urgent and I could tell she wasn't joking.
I quickly started chanting and teleported us out.
"Oh… no." Eris' stomach grumbled and she clutched at it. Sure enough a second later; "Mmph!" She ran out the door.
Vanir chuckled. "Hoho! Those two hounds of a Goddess sure have a lot in common don't they! Wouldn't you agree?"
"For once, I actually strongly agree with you. They DO have a lot in common to the point that it disturbs me."
"All Gods are the same, don't get your hopes up."
"I wouldn't say they're all the same, Eris is far better of a Goddess than the blue one. They still have a lot in common though, like their insanely high alcohol tolerance and love for said alcohol. Seriously, how is she still drunk? It's been like four hours."
Suddenly Eris stumbled back into the shop. "Hrk…! Never again! I'm never drinking that much alcohol again! I've learnt my lesson!"
"Why the hell did you drink so much if you couldn't handle it anyways?"
She stared at me, narrowing her eyes. "Because of YOU! It's all your fault!" She yelled, leaning against the wall for support.
"Me!? Don't try to pin the blame on me! I did nothing wrong! "
"That steal!" She hid her face.
"Are you still mad about that!? I already apologized earlier!"
"N-No! Not that one!" She looked down.
After a few seconds of silence, Eris dug into her pockets, her face growing redder with each passing second.
"This one…" She presented some unraveled fabric, a very familiar fabric.
"What is it?" I knew what it was, I just wanted to hear Eris utter those words.
"Don't make me say it!"
That's right, what Eris had in her hand was my stolen boxers that she had personally stripped from my body.
It seems that the deeply embarrassed Eris couldn't handle the implications of her spell stealing my underwear and not what she wanted. So the only logical thing she could think of doing is…
"*Burp-*" Eris swiftly covered her mouth. Her face heated up as well.
-The only logical thing she could think of doing was drinking the pain away. But I do think she went overboard with it. At least when I drink, I try to limit myself, she just drank till she couldn't anymore. What a poor girl.
"T-Take them!" She shook my poor boxers and extended them to me. "PLEASE!"
*FLASH*
*BEEEEEP*
A familiar sound came from the floor. Me and Eris gave each other a knowing look before we turned to see it.
A polaroid camera was now on the ground, the same polaroid camera that Eris owns. A new photo had been created. I picked it up.
Eris came over to my side to see it as well. After it had finished developing, I was able to see that it had taken a photo of Eris holding my boxers, her face a bright red.
Before I can even say anything, Eris yanked the photo from my grasp and tore it to shreds within seconds.
She narrowed her eyes on me. "You saw nothing."
"Yes Ma'am." I chose not to fan the flames.
"Here, take them back already." She placed my boxers on the top of my head. "I think I spent way too much time with you. You're corrupting me with your perverted thoughts…"
The thought of a perverted Eris popped into my head. I chuckled.
"T-This is no laughing matter! A Goddess must be as pure as possible!"
"You can't be talking about purity with what you did an hour ago." I referred to the unholy words that were uttered by her, describing whatever the hell Darkness was into.
"Hrk- Ah… about that." Eris cringed at the memory before apologizing. "Sorry about that Kazuma. I wasn't myself and to be frank I was still mad about the whole steal thing. That was a secret I should've taken to the grave."
"Ahah- I appreciate the apology but I'd like to stop thinking about it as fast as possible. Let's change the topic please!"
"Y-You're right." Me and Eris both shivered a bit.
I looked at the camera. "So how do you think this thing got here?"
"It probably got teleported back here with us."
"Speaking of that, why the hell did you panic back there?"
She chuckled before turning to face me. "You don't get it do you? I still have remnants of a Devil's influence within my body from last time. The angels would've sensed it and caught us if we stayed up there for any longer. So I freaked out."
"Oh, sorry about that."
"It's fine, it's on me for forgetting to tell you. We still have a lot to do and I think this little guy will help us with this." Eris picked up the camera.
Her hand glowed and the light spread to the camera, completely engulfing it.
"Annnnd that should do." Eris' hand dulled and the light was gone.
The camera had completely changed models from an old fashioned polaroid one, into a modern digital one.
"Looks like I still have some power in me, still would've liked a more modern model but this will do." Eris examined the new camera a bit annoyed by how 'outdated' it is.
"Woah, what did you do to it?" I asked, reaching for the camera.
"I used some of my power to change the model. I like polaroids better but this model will be more beneficial to us. Luckily it still keeps all the photos I took." She handed me the camera.
I pressed the power button and it opened an album of sorts on the screen. There were three options; record, snapshot, and album. I selected album.
There it showed a grid of photos, an overwhelming amount of them were of me in embarrassing outfits that Eris had made me wear.
"Say Eris, how do you delete photos?"
"Oh no you don't!" She swiped the camera back from me before I could even do anything.
"You're not deleting anything! These are extremely precious memories that I refuse to delete!" She stuffed the camera in her pocket.
"I won't hesitate to steal if I have to! I am NOT risking those photos getting leaked!" I approached Eris.
"You understand right! These photos are mementos of all the times we hung out! You wouldn't want to forget about all the fun we had!" Eris stood her ground.
I seized my attempt. "...Fine. You better make sure they don't ever get out! It'll completely ruin me!" I reluctantly put my hand down.
"I will." Eris smiled.
"Now that's settled. Assistant, I have a question for you."
"Ask away."
"How good do you think you are at hiding photos?" Her smile morphed into an evil one. "I have an idea."
Scary.
AN: Hey! Thanks for reading. It's been 10 chapters already, time goes by fast doesn't it? Anyways, the second raid will happen next chapter. I'll be introducing some new stuff, like the red-thieving masks for both Kazuma and Eris, as well as new weapons for each of them. I appreciate the patience. See you soon (hopefully) :)
