Somewhere in Upstate New York, there's a lonely cabin near a frozen lake, buried in snow. A person that's been traveling on a dog sled for days, stands before it and sighs. Then, after grabbing a shovel from the sled got to work on digging out the entrance. Last they'd heard, the couple was somewhere in a cabin around here. And they wouldn't rest until they found them. After spending what felt like hours, they were able to dig out the front door halfway through, and they noticed a note stuck to it. They ripped the note off the door and read it.

To whoever finds this,

My name is Chloe Beale, I came to this cabin a few days before Christmas in hopes of meeting my friend. But on the way I kinda got in an accident. With my car stuck, I made the mistake of trying to reach the cabin on foot, but I got stuck in the blizzard, and I thought I was going to die that day. I think I did for a bit. But a miracle happened, my friend had the same idea as me. She was here! Waiting for me! And she actually ran half a mile into the blizzard to rescue me. The funny thing is she's 5'2 and a 100 pounds wet, and somehow she still managed to find the strength to carry me to safety. And she led me out of the darkness with her voice. You see, she sang to me, it was our song. And that song was like a candle in the night, it was so warm and full of love that I was able to follow it. She brought me back, with her voice and her body heat. And that's what it took for us to find what we've both been looking for this whole time. Each other.

Needless to say that even after all that, it was still the best Christmas present I have ever had.

But unfortunately, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, right? And so the snow storm got worse, and it didn't stop. We were fine for a while, honestly we barely noticed. Let's just say we were distracted by making up for lost time. So much lost time, how I wish we'd found each other sooner, but in the end we found each other and that's all that matters.

But then everything started falling apart, the power went out, the phone's wouldn't work, and we started running out of food, and then we heard that awful transmission from the president, you know the one I mean. The very last thing we all heard on the radio before everything went quiet. We were so scared and not knowing what to do, we decided to risk it and leave the cabin.

We are heading down to Georgia to visit my girlfriend's father before we head down to Florida to check in on my mom. She's all alone, and I'm really worried about her. Look, I'm not a fool, I know the road will be dangerous, and scary, but I'm all she has, so we have to at least try right? Besides, it can't be that bad, right? It's only been a few days? Or a few weeks since the storm started, time feels a little fuzzy to be honest.

But I think we'll be alright, and we'll make it, because I have Beca, and she's amazing, and just so incredibly brave. Seriously who runs into a blizzard like that? Beca does, that's who. And with her by my side, I feel safe, and that anything is possible because we've done incredible things together. And I know she feels the same.

In a perfect world, I would have loved to stay in this cabin with her, but it's not a perfect world, is it? Not anymore, at least. Well we have to head out now, wish us luck!

If you're reading this, I hope your circumstances are better, and I hope that the world has healed.

Good luck,

I love you, fellow human.

After reading the letter, the person groaned and walked back towards the dog sled, while murmuring "These aca-bitches," but they couldn't help but smile. They neatly folded the letter and placed it inside their coat.

After settling in her position in the sled they grabbed the leash and yelled, "Alright! Let's go! Balto, Blitzen, Rudolph, Jumani, Pogo, and Aubrey!"

The six dogs obeyed and lurched forward. It would be a long way to Georgia, but there was hope, and that lifted their spirits. Her friends were probably alive.
