Chapter 4
The next morning, after eating a hearty breakfast of fruit, fish, and antelope meat, the group begins flying towards their first destination, the replanted, and now much safer poison jungle. Sundew had explained to them, "The poison jungle isn't very safe, and never has been, but to just let it stay as a burned down husk would be wrong, and Cricket agrees. She told me that across both continents, it was a pretty unique place, and although dangerous, is also fascinating with its own unique ecosystem, so we replanted everything. And, yes, it may be safer now, but that isn't because of what is growing there. It is as dangerous as it used to be. It is just safer because we KNOW where everything is, and have a few LeafWings there who can help guide dragons through. I would not recommend going in alone, whether you are familiar with it, or not, however. However, you should be fine with a Leafwing guiding you." Although, she had also handed them a map, just in case.
As they fly, StarFlight tells the group about his recent visit to the old nightwing kingdom, for his sister's party celebrating her eggs arrival.
"I can't say Fierceteeth was necessarily happy that I actually bothered coming. She didn't seem to want me to leave either, which was a little strange. Also, I wish I could have seen the old nightwing city for myself, but luckily Fatespeaker did describe it all to me. Moon came with Quibi too, because she wanted to discuss something with Fierceteeth about the possibility of having dragonets with powers. Moon made it clear she was available to talk with them if any of them did, and try to help teach them how to use their powers and not get overwhelmed by them. Moon also said she could answer any questions Fierceteeth might have, but Fierceteeth pretty much just refused any and all help from her. Yet also at the same time basically said she would take it if she needed it, but in such a way that was supposed to make it seem like she meant something else entirely. It was like she was trying to hide it, in order to look tough.
Quibi and Moon left before me, since they are not part of our family and felt it wasn't really their place to be there. Fatespeaker, however, left later. Fatespeaker isn't related to me or Fireceteeth, but since I am blind, she, of course, stayed with me, and that was the reason she came with me in the first place. She doesn't really like my sister, and I get that. Honestly, I am struggling myself to handle her 'attitude', however, I have dealt with much, MUCH worse."
He goes on for a bit longer after this, going into more detail, until they arrive at the poison jungle. Hazel, and a few other Leafwings greet them, and have been waiting eagerly for their arrival, having been told prior about the fact they were coming, and when, and volunteered to be their tour guides.
"Hello! Willow said you were coming." Hazel says.
"We, myself included, are personally going to be your guides, and make sure nobody dies to any of the many dangerous plants within the jungle, but, of course, you should already know that. Anyhow, should we just get going after you rest for a moment from the flight here? I am ready, along with the other Leafwings here. And I know you probably want to start early enough to be able to get back out of the jungle before sundown, otherwise we will have to spend the night in the jungle, as for those without experience navigating the jungle, it will be too dark to be safe. However, experts at navigating the jungle can relatively safely navigate at night, which boils down to most Leafwings. However, no matter how good you are, there is always the chance for something to go wrong."
Sorry this is two weeks late, but it wasn't ready. Do not expect a new chapter until the 1st of June, as i cannot expect myself to get another chapter out in only two weeks. This, however, will give me more time to try to work on the next chapter, and make it longer, and better.
