I woke up that morning lying beside Angel and Fat Nuggets. I smiled and looked down at them while they were sleeping. It was not a part of my plan to fall asleep so quickly last night but I suppose I was a lot more tired than I initially thought. All I knew for certain was that I wanted every morning of my afterlife to be like this. For better or worse, I wanted the sun to rise and set with him next to me.

I wanted him in sickness and in health. I knew in that instant that my love for him was unconditional and for the first time in decades, I felt that his love for me was too. Though I had for the most part moved past my alcohol and gambling addiction over the past few months I had replaced those addictions with my addiction for Angel's love and affection. After a few minutes he starts stirring when the sound of his phone alarm goes off. He groans and looks down at his phone before turning it off and returning it to his nightstand.

He sits up and stretches before giving me a kiss on the forehead. "Where are you heading off to so early," I asked propping my head up with my hand. Angel slides out of bed and starts getting dressed for the day, "I have plans to go shopping with Cherri Bomb today." I grinned to myself. What he didn't know is that I was the one who called his best friend a couple of days ago and asked her to take him shopping. I had plans to talk to Charlie and Vaggie about a few things and I wanted to make sure Angel wasn't there to ease drop on our conversation.

As soon as he gets up and walks out the door, I get out of bed and get changed. I feed Fat Nuggets and then headed downstairs. As soon as I get downstairs, I ask Charlie and Vaggie to meet me over in Gracie's office before turning from them and walking towards that direction. As soon as I get Vaggie and Charlie in Gracie's office I shut the door behind us and look to make sure Angel isn't there. I locked the door and closed the blinds. Just as soon as I turned around Alastor manifested in front of me.

I meowed loudly with my shackles on end and jumped a few inches in the air before hissing and clawing in the air at him. "My dear, Husker what has you so unusually jumpy today," Alastor asks raising an eyebrow in genuine curiosity. I slumped my shoulders and slap my hand up to my face before groaning, "can all of you just sit down for a second? Especially you, Charlie." Everyone looks at me with confusion but they all complied. I let out a sigh and move to stand behind Gracie's desk in efforts to put some distance between me and the others, "so I have some pretty huge news.

If you can help it, please don't freak out, okay?" Looking even more intrigued than before everyone leans forward in their chairs eager to hear the news. "So you guys are all aware that Angel and I have been together for about a year and a half now and in that time, we've only grown closer. So,... I've decided that I want to propose to Angel." Not fully grasping the concept of what I was saying Charlie asks, "uh... proposing what to Angel?"

Vaggie and Alastor turned their heads to Charlie completely baffled that she wasn't picking up on the gravity of what I was saying. I let out a sigh, "I'm going to ask Angel to marry me." "WHAT?!!!" Charlie practically jumps up out of her seat and is standing up in a matter of mere seconds. Her eyes are huge and animated and her smile is all the way up to her ears. "OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH!!!!

I'M SOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU, HUSK!!" She exclaimed as I find myself reeling back in a chair that's on the opposite side of the room. Vaggie stands up and placed a hand on her girlfriend's shoulder, "honey, I think we need to reel back the excitement just a tad bit." She turns her gaze back to Vaggie, "but how can I relax after Husk just shared something this HUGE!!" I sit down in the chair relieved that Vaggie came to get her girlfriend, "I haven't even asked him yet.

Plus, I don't even know if he'll say yes or not." "Okay, so we got to make sure that this proposal is perfect," Vaggie says smiling with her arm around Charlie. I looked up at Vaggie and smiled, "that's why I wanted to talk to you and Charlie. I'm going to need some help. I want to get Angel the perfect ring but I'm going to need some help narrowing it down."

Charlie looks over to me wiping away her tears of joy, "do you at least have an idea of what you're looking for?" I scratch the back of my head, "well I know that I want the main stone to be pink, since that's his favorite color but beyond that, I have no clue." Charlie's eyes instantly light up all childlike, "Vaggie and I would LOVE to help you out, Husk!" Vaggie and Charlie both walk over and give me a huge hug. "We're sooo happy for you, Husk," Vaggie says finally taking a step back with a smile.

"We absolutely cannot wait to help you plan for the most special proposal ever!" Alastor chimes in standing up from his chair, "ugh... as disgusting as this whole display of affection is to me... how can I help, Husker old pal?" I looked over to him, "I'm going to need you to keep Angel distracted while we go out and take care of some things and get stuff set up and all that." Alastor places a hand on my shoulder, "I think that is a task I can accomplish, old friend." I smiled at him, "Thanks, Al."

"So when are we going to go ring shopping," Vaggie asked. "Well," I say walking over to the door. "I was planning on going to the jewelers tomorrow." Charlie and the others turn and follow me to the door, "great, what time are we leaving?" "8:00 in the morning, we've got a lot of running around to do."

Charlie clasps her hands together, "sounds great!" Before unlocking the door and opening it I look out the door and saw Angel walking in through the main entrance, "Charlie, please don't bring too much attention to yourself. I don't want Angel to catch on and suspect anything." Vaggie places her hands on Charlie's shoulders, "don't worry, Husk we got this." I smiled and unlocked the door before walking out with the other following behind me before walking their separate ways.
