"Sphinx, you must meet with me at the sun shrine island." said a humanoid purple baboon, "It is of which you may find unbelievable. I'll explain everything by the time you arrive." The demigod apprentice stood on the boat as a passenger as he could see the small temple not too far from his sights. Sphinx has lion-like features with a tail and clawed feet. He bears dark brown skin as his eyes were decorated with dark red face paint. He wears red pants and a Wesekh collar that covers his upper chest. His jetblack hair is covered with a golden headdress that resembles a lion's mane.

"Destiny calls for you once again, my heroic friend," said an anthropomorphic bird. Sphinx smiled as he said, "Yep, though Set is defeated, Tut is still uncured, evil still runs amuck in Egypt due to Uruk being active, and a whole lotta other hoopla." Sphinx looked at the island as the boat reached closer, "nothing that I can't handle." As he refers to battles against the evil god Set and his henchmen.

"And I'm just your friendly local sailor," teased Khonshu. The comment made Sphinx chuckle while Khonshu continued, "how is your mentor doing? And how about the prince?"

"So far, all of the lands have been peaceful. And Imhotep is still figuring out a spell to cure Tut back to his old self. Unfortunately…he's struggling."

"Give the old man some time," Khonshu added, "even a strong sorcery like him needs time to cure curses. I bet you struggled during your times as an adventurer, oh mighty hero."

"You can relax on the teasing now, friend," Sphinx replied as he giggled.

"You're right, cause we're just on time," the boat made a stop once it got close to the small temple. Sphinx hopped off the boat as his feet hit the sand, he looked at the small humanoid bird and said, "by the way, thanks for the discount."

"That's your reward for saving the world," Khonshu added, "anyway good luck talking to your old man. Tell him I said hey!"

The boat then took off as Sphinx decided to look at the ship one last time. Khonshu has been a major convenience to Sphinx whenever the young demigod couldn't access the teleporting god. The conversations he had with the bird were pleasant, the most memorable one was when Khonshu had to protect his ship from unwanted stowaways. And those stowaways were small water scarabs. Sphinx remembered how Khonshu wanted to call him to fend off the stowaways. In which he rebuked as ridiculous. And Khonshu responded with, "Don't you ever underestimate the menace of scarab beetles. Especially ones that invade ships."

As funny as the story was, Sphinx had to get back on track on why he arrived. He entered the sun shrine temple as he saw the statue of a giant cat with a humanoid face along with a glowing mist. It was the portal that Sphinx uses to call the portal god to take him to different places in Egypt.

A ball of light appeared as it changed shape and soon a tall anthropomorphic baboon appeared.

"You have arrived on time my friend," said the tall baboon, "I was beginning to worry."

"There was a slight delay in travel," Sphinx replied, "Khonshu saw a storm and had to change paths."

"The bird is cautious as he is cowardice," said a familiar figure. Sphinx turned around to spot a tall black humanoid figure resembling a dog, "he always rather play it safe."

"Even I was not expecting your sudden arrival Anubis," said the baboon in a flabbergasted manner.

Anubis chuckled, "Oh Imhotep, age has really caught up to you. And you're not the only one with the knowledge of this." Anubis holds out his hand as a strange device appears. To Sphinx, it looked extremely unknown to him, as it was nothing but a small black screen and he noticed that a red dot started blinking.

"Looks like it has an attraction to you," Anubis added, "it was never active when me and Imhotep found it."

"Whatever it is, it's obviously not from our world," Imhotep added as he reached out to make the device fly to his hand, "and if it is active where Sphinx is here, it must mean something."

Anubis chuckled, "is that so," the jackal looked at the young demigod for a minute.

"Is it okay if I can have it," Sphinx said, "maybe it's a message from the other worlds."

"You forget that you're the hero of Egypt, not the entire universe" Anubis added, "even if it's calling for you, it doesn't make you anymore special."

Sphinx held back his tongue, he may be a headstrong warrior but he's not foolish enough to talk back to the god of the underworld. Imhotep said, "Anubis is right Sphinx, four other young warriors were chosen by this exact same device. And they are not from these lands either." Imhotep then decided to hand the device to Sphinx and said, "just remember that you'll be a part of a team now. Make sure to rely on them as they do on you."

Sphinx nodded as he looked at the device to see what it could do. He decided to tap the screen when it was barely lit, causing the device to create a holographic message.
