"Ben!" yelled Hana once her face was revealed. "What have you done?"

She threw a flame at him and jumped off the roof.

"Kuri?" said Gwen. "Ben!"

Deku stared at her.

Kuri jumped in the van and drove toward the airport.

"Aren't we going after her?" Deku asked Gwen. He didn't see Ben get burned by Kuri.

"It's pointless now," replied Gwen, kneeling down next to Ben. "Ben, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay," replied Ben. "I didn't get burned that bad."

"She burned you?" Deku asked. "Why would she do that? We have to find her!"

"We'll find her, don't worry," replied Gwen.

Kuri bought a coach ticket to Japan at the airport, and sat down, waiting for the plane to be ready for boarding. She bought a magazine and sunglasses, just in case Gwen, Ben, and Deku came looking for her.

"What if she leaves the country?" Deku asked Gwen as they were getting in a taxi.

"Ben, can you call the airport and prevent that please?" Gwen asked him.

"Sure," Ben replied, getting out his cell phone and calling the airport.

Gwen drove them to the airport.

Kuri was almost asleep when the loudspeaker went off.

"Flight 214 to Japan is going to be delayed due to cleaning."

"Ugh…Ben!" Kuri yelled, banging a fist against the wall. She tossed the magazine out and went to the desk. "May I speak with the pilot for plane 214?"

"Back office, make a left," replied the clerk.

"Perfect," Kuri replied, and walked in.

"I think I see her!" Deku said. "Over there, going into that office!"

"Come on, let's hurry!" Gwen said. All three of them went into the office.

Kuri saw them coming, and she came up with an idea. She turned and kissed the pilot, who was only a few years older then her.

"Kuri…" said Gwen.

"K-Kuri?" exclaimed Deku in shock.

Kuri broke away and quickly pushed passed her shocked friends and ran down the hallway.

Unfortunately, Deku, Gwen, and Ben ran after her. Kuri reached a dead end and hid behind a pillar.

"…you're pathetic, Kuri," said Gwen, catching up to her.

Kri stepped out, narrowing her eyes. "Only if Deku leaves."

"I was the only one that chased you," replied Gwen.

"I want Deku out of the building," Kuri said softly.

"Why?" Gwen asked.

"Fine, I'll do it," replied Kuri, pulling the fire alarm. There was a scramble and people streamed out the emergency exits.

"…was that necessary?" asked Gwen.

Kuri's hands caught ablaze. "Yes. This building is burning down, and taking me with it. Leave, before you get hurt."

"What is with you?" Gwen asked.

Kuri shut her eyes tight. "Just…get out. Go away. Let it all end here. My curse…in ashes."

"What are you talking about, Kuri?" Deku asked, a bit out of breath, but finally making it to stand next to Gwen.

Ben was right behind Deku, giving Kuri a concerned look. "It shouldn't have had this effect…" he muttered to himself.

Kuri's eyes flew open. Her tone became pleading. "Deku…leave, please, go home, where you're safe."

"What are you going to do that might harm me?" Deku asked her, not moving.

The flames went out. Kuri's pointer finger began to glow. "I am…sorry, Deku."

"Kuri, what are you doing?" Deku asked her.

She stepped closer to him and whispered in his ear. "I'll miss you…" She touched his forehead with her glowing finger.

"Kuri—" Deku fell to the floor.

"Deku!" exclaimed Ben and Gwen at the same time.

Kuri knelt next to him, completely calm. "Wake up, Deku." She gently patted his cheeks. "Wake up."

"Ow! That hurt!" exclaimed Deku, opening his eyes, and sitting up.

"See, he's fine," said Kuri softly.

Ben and Gwen glared at her.

"I promise, okay?" Kuri exclaimed, holding her hands up in a gesture of trustworthiness. "Just make sure he avoids head injuries."

"I doubt Deku can do that," Gwen said. "He's very clumsy."

"I am not!" Deku protested.

Kuri smiled. "Just avoid fire, okay?" Her voice broke.

"Um…okay," Deku replied. "Um…who are you?"

"I am no one of consequence," Kuri said.

"Are you always this dramatic?" Ben asked her.

"No," Kuri said sharply.

Gwen put a hand on her cousin's shoulder. "Did you do the same to Loki?"

"Yes," Kuri said, staring at Deku. "Ah…it's better this way. But…Loki will be gone soon anyway."

"What?" Ben, Gwen, and Deku said at the same time.

"He tied his existence to mine," Kuri said. "I would estimate he has about a week left…as well as the rest of you. I have no idea as to why I remain cursed. I suppose…it's retribution."

Suddenly Deku passed out.

"Oh no…" Kuri said, and rushed to Deku side. She checked his pulse. "I used too much power on him. It's…It's killing him."

Kuri began to get hysterical, tears falling as she patted Deku cheeks, trying to wake him. "WAKE UP!"

Deku eyes flew open and he started speaking in random gibberish.

Gwen knelt. "Can we do anything, Kuri?"

Kuri didn't seem to hear her. Deku passed out again. Kuri checked his pulse. He was…dead.

"N-No…I lost him…" whispered Kuri.

"Deku!" exclaimed Gwen. "What's wrong with you, Kuri?"

"Th-This was not supposed to happen," Kuri said in a shocked voice.

She closed her eyes. "N-No…I-I can still…I can save him."

"No…way," replied Gwen.

"Way," Kuri said. "Back up."

Gwen got up and backed up. Kuri's hands started glowing and she put them on Deku forehead. There was a shock, and Deku eyes flew open.

"Deku? Deku, are you okay?" said Kuri frantically.

"I'm fine," he replied, a bit irritably. "But I have a terrible headache."

Kuri hugged him. "I'm sorry, but I can't give you you're memory back until I'm cured…or until my own death is imminent. Good-bye, all of you. Gwen, I would erase your memory, but I think…you wouldn't let me."

Kuri ran down the hallway.

"I think we should leave now," Gwen said to Ben and Deku.
