Svartalfheim

As they continued flying on their ship suddenly Kiana's eyes opened, it was clear that the Aether has taken her over, she rose and looked ahead.

"Kiana." Thor said.

"Malekith." Kiana said. After landing their ship, they walked over to watch Malekith and his men in the distance.

"Alright, are you ready?" Kiana nodded her head.

"I don't like it, but I'm ready." Kuri said.

"I am." Loki said. They rose from their hiding spot and Malekith spotted them standing on a hill in the distance. "You know this plan of yours is going to get us killed."

"Yeah, possibly." Thor said. Loki held up his shackled hands for Thor to uncuff him.

"You still don't trust me, brother?" Loki said.

"Would you?" Thor took off Loki's cuffs.

"No, I wouldn't." Suddenly Loki took out a dagger, stabbed Thor and threw him down the hill.

"Thor! No!" Kiana said. Malekith saw this and started walking towards them. After stabbing Thor and throwing him down the hill, Loki walked over to Thor, Kuri following by his side, content to watch his theatrics.

"You really think I cared about Frigga, about any of you?" Loki kicked Thor in the stomach. "All I ever wanted was you and Odin dead at my feet!" Thor raised his hand, attempting to summon Mjolnir, but Loki cut off his hand making Thor scream out in pain, Kiana rushed over to Thor but Loki grabbed her and turned to face Malekith and his dark elves. "Malekith, I am Loki of Jotunheim and I bring you a gift!" He threw Kiana at Malekith's feet. "I ask only one thing in return, a good seat from which to watch Asgard burn."

"He is an enemy of Asgard, he was locked in a cell." Algrim said.

Malekith walked over to Thor squirming in pain on the ground, then looked up at Kuri. "And the woman?"

"She laid waste to one of the Earth cities. She too is an enemy of Asgard." Algrim said.

"Look at me." Malekith used his foot to turn Thor, he then lifted Kiana in the air and extracted the Aether from her, in that moment Kiana had a vision of Earth, then as the Aether left her body Kiana fell to the ground.

"Loki, now!" Thor said.

Loki used his magic to reveal that he had never amputated Thor's hand, Thor quickly summoned Mjolnir and shot lightning at the Aether attempting to destroy it, but he failed as Malekith was still able to absorb it and turned to leave on his ship. Two of the dark elves started attacking Thor but he quickly took them down, Algrim then threw one of his vortex weapons in the air, Loki pushed Kuri out of the way and he was nearly sucked in when Thor pulled him out, Thor then attacked Algrim but he beat Thor down, Loki went over to them and impaled Algrim from behind, Algrim slowly turned and suddenly pulled Loki into the blade that was sticking out from him.

"No!" Thor said.

Algrim took a step towards Loki.

"See you in hell, monster!" Loki said. Algrim then realized that attached to the blade in him was his own vortex weapon, it exploded before he can do anything destroying him; Thor then rushed over to Loki.

"No. No, no, no! Oh, you fool, you didn't listen!" Thor said.

"I know. I'm a fool. I'm a fool!" Loki squirmed in pain.

Kuri ran to him, her telekinesis throwing Thor across the field in her anguish.

"Stay with me, okay?" Kuri said. "You'll be ok, see, it's just a scratch!"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Loki said.

"Shh." Kuri said.

"I'm sorry." Loki said. "I'm breaking my promise."

"Y-You...always were a liar..." Kuri half sobbed, half laughed.

"I'll tell father what you did here today." Thor got to his feet.

"I didn't do it for him." Loki closed his eyes and as he lay dying his skin turned to it's blue Frost Giant form.

Kuri ran a hand over his cheek, and as she did she connected with him one last time, showing him her vision of their lives together, their wedding, their ruling side by side, their legacy.

"I-I wanted..." Kuri shuddered in pain.

"I know, love..." Loki tremored one last time, and died.

Kuri cried out in anguish.

Thor looked at Kiana as he wept for Loki. Kiana pulled him into her arms.

At last, after an unbearably long time, Thor ventured to Kuri's side, seeking to comfort her.

"Leave me!" Kuri screamed. "I'm not leaving Loki here! The Einherjar will come soon seeking us and I will carry his body back to Asgard and see he is honored as the true hero that he was! Now GO! Or..." Kuri's teeth were gritted in bitter anger as she finished. "Do I have to show you the power of my grief AGAIN?!"

Thor, mighty as he was, had been afraid of her power when she threw him earlier. He did not know what manner of creature had the power to thwart a god, but he had the wisdom not to provoke her.

He was uncannily reminded of his friend Bruce Banner, the Hulk, when he saw her eyes, full of bitterness, anguish, and rage...pure unadulterated rage.

Thor took Kiana's hand, stopping her from saying anything more, and the two of them departed.
