Sam winced as Mrs. Hopper applied her special cream on his neck. "I know it stings a little bit but we don't know what that 'god' had under his nails when he scratched you. While at the time you thought he didn't break the skin, it looks like he actually did. I read the tablets of Erra and was able to create this cream to clean up anything that could happen. I mixed the purest olive oil with the foam created by the waters of where the Euphrates and the Tigris joined in ancient Mesopotamia." She winked at him as she smiled. "I added a few healing herbs that the Cherokee have been using for centuries to heal our own warriors for good measure. You should be better than ever in the morning," she looked him in the eye as she continued. "Especially after a good dinner in your belly and the most restful sleep protected by the Creator."
Dean walked out of the back of the house after taking a cleansing shower. "First, thank you for having the hottest water to get rid of the stink of that altar mixture that got on our bodies. Seriously, I think we all need to burn the clothes we had on today." The Chief nodded in agreement. "Second, where did you find foam from the waters of those ancient rivers?"
"Never question how a woman gets her hands on anything, Son. Learn that lesson from my mistake." Dragon laughed as she entered the room as she brought some clean white cotton bandages for Mrs. Hopper to wrap around Sam's neck.
Her mother smiled at her as she helped her fasten them. "Ok, now that everyone is showered and the food is ready, we can eat and then I think Dean is correct. We'll have a bonfire to celebrate the destruction of the sky warriors and use everyone's dirty clothes as the kindling."
Dean laughed as Sam got used to the collar around his neck. "Does my neck look like it'll be ok?"
"Yes Sam," Dragon started as she helped him up. "The cream was already clearing up the marks on your neck before we wrapped it. In the morning, you should have no marks left. I hate that he got his hands on you but it gave me a chance to …"
"It gave you a moment to drop focus." She glanced over at her father who now was showing his displeasure in her. "You let your feelings for this boy affect your concentration. I thank the Creator that Dean was thinking and took out his eye with one of the arrows they had. You hit him in the neck which did nothing but piss him off." She lowered her eyes, embarrassed that he was reprimanding her in front of the Winchesters. "Now that being said, you took out two of the sky warriors on your own and that made me so proud of the archer you've become." She glanced up to see her father smiling at her. "When you become Chief, you'll lead with your heart and your head. You'll make a better Chief than I could ever be."
She ran up to him and pulled him into a big hug. She whispered, "I could never be a better Chief than you are, Dad. And I know that I need to work on controlling my heart from overriding my head but in that moment, I was exhausted, the adrenaline was rushing through my body and just happened to glance towards the altar and saw what was happening. I got scared and didn't think about controlling my emotions. I just screamed and fired."
He broke the hug and smiled at her. "I know, Dra. You're more like me than I ever wanted you to be. I knew I needed to keep my eyes towards the sky to keep my mind off of trying to be the hero and save those that I loved from the danger around us." He kissed her forehead and put his arm around her neck. "Now let's go eat so we can get to the bonfire and let off a little stress from the day."
Dean looked around with a frown on his face. "We killed Erra, Dra." Everyone in the room turned and looked at him as he shook his head. "Who's going to cause all of the chaos that Sam says is supposed to keep the people of this world balanced?"
Sam smiled as he shook his head. "I bet I know a trickster who would only LOVE to cause chaos not just for his enjoyment but to bring balance to the world when we need it."
"Oh great! Just who I want to let have free reign on the world during election years." Dean closed his eyes and sighed at the thought of Loki being allowed to bring the chaos needed during the election years.
