The Slime and the Second Vampire
Vampires. Throughout history across the world these beings have gained notoriety as being one of, if not the deadliest of all monsters. The combination of incredible strength, intelligence and unparalleled beauty made them the stuff of legends.
Up until this point I was content dealing with only one vampire at school, mostly because of the fact that she was someone really important to me. Now the question was this: how the heck was I going to deal with a second vampire?
Yukari: Hold on a second, you're telling me that the person who wrote those creepy letters to you was your own sister?!
Mizore: That's insane. Never thought that someone like her own sister would try to go after her like that.
Moka: We need to get away from here, she's a lot more dangerous than she looks.
????: Finally, after all this time I now have the opportunity to finish what I started so long ago. I finally get to have my revenge!
She leapt into the air and proceeded to attack Moka with a flying kick. We all backed away before the ground became a pile of rubble as she was simply focused on her so called " revenge ".
Kurumu: Well I guess there's no question about her strength. She's definitely another S-Class monster!
Ko: You never cease to impress Ms.Kokoa, your raw power is electrifying whee!
Kurumu: Wait that bat isn't just a narrator for the anime?!
Yukari: He's been in cahoots with her this whole time?!
Kazuto: How exactly is that relevant to our current situation?
Kokoa: What's wrong Moka, why aren't you fighting back? Come on, let's do it like we used to!
Without even hesitating Kokoa started using a tree she uprooted with her bare hands as she swung it around like an oversized club in an attempt to kill Moka. What made the situation worse was that we were all nothing more than insects to her so she didn't really care if we got caught in the crossfire of her rampage.
Mizore: Crap, this bitch is nuts!
Kurumu: Is she seriously alright with going on a rampage!?
Yukari: She's totally insane!
Kazuto: Tell me about it! She seriously doesn't seem to care if we get killed alongside Moka.
Kokoa: Oh that's not entirely true. If I happen to kill you as well it'll be that much sweeter!
She then turned to me as her aura grew stronger. She let go of the tree as she simply charged at me at full speed. I narrowly dodged her punch as she flew past me with her fist covered in an aura of her monster energy.
Kazuto: ( Holy crap, even using Thought Acceleration to its fullest only let me barely dodge that! )
Girls: Kazuto!
Seemed like Kokoa was focused on me now. Every strike from her was just as deadly as the first. Her aura was so strong that she even managed to flake off some of my skin that revealed some of my flesh underneath, luckily Ultraspeed Regeneration took care of that easily but Kokoa wasn't letting up. She continued her assault as I did my best to avoid her attacks either by jumping out of the way or quickly reverting to my slime form to make myself a smaller target. All the while the girls could only watch as the two of us continued to jump around at high speed.
Yukari: This is really bad, how are we supposed to help Kazuto get away from her!
Kurumu: Moka can't you do something, she's your sister so tell her to back off!
Moka: I can't! Once Kokoa sets her sights on something she won't listen to anyone!
Mizore: So what can we do, we can't just stand around and do nothing!
I knew I couldn't keep this up for long, it was only a matter of time before I slipped up or she found a way to blindside me.
Kazuto: ( Great Sage, do you have any ideas? )
Great Sage: It might be possible to throw Kokoa off her guard by utilizing the magic you studied over the course of your break from school.
Is Great Sage talking about the spells from the Grimoire Weiss? I never had a chance to test most of it out in actual combat but I guess there wasn't a better time than now.
Kazuto: Alright, let's rock!
With a strong shout reminiscent of a famous Saiyan raised on earth I increased my power, my dark blue aura glowed brightly around my body as Kokoa stopped her attack long enough for me to try out one of my newest attacks.
Kazuto: Dark Blast!
With an outstretched hand I began shooting orbs of magical energy at high speed. Kokoa quickly backed away as she started running around to avoid my attacks.
Ko: No way, since when could he do that?!
Kokoa: How should I know, wasn't it your job to watch them to see what they could do?!
Ko: Yeah but I don't remember this guy doing this before!
Kokoa was starting to get very upset, not only was she put on the defensive but so far she wasn't able to kill Moka as she originally intended.
????: Hey what the heck is going on over here!?
We then saw a woman with white hair wearing a white track suit running to our location.
????: You're Kokoa Shuzen aren't you?
Kokoa: So what if I am?
????: Don't talk back to your teacher like that! Now get your butt to class or you'll be in a lot of trouble young lady!
Kokoa: Tch, looks like you got lucky this time. And don't forget that I still won't stop until I wipe you off the face of the earth big sister.
Kokoa then walked red away, presumably to class as the woman who introduced herself as a teacher walked towards us.
Suphia: I'm sorry about her, I hope she didn't cause you too much trouble. I'm Suphia by the way, the new P.E. teacher here at Yokai Academy.
Moka: New P.E. teacher?
Suphia: Yeah, the last teacher turned in his resignation a few months back and my cousin recommended me for the position.
Kurumu: Who recommended you?
Suphia: Ms. Nekonome.
Kazuto: Wait, Ms. Nekonome is your cousin?!
Suphia: Yeah. I assume you know her?
We then explained how she was our teacher last year as well as this year. We also mentioned how she asked us to join her Newspaper Club.
Suphia: So you guys are the newest members of her club, she's told me so much about you kids. I'm glad to see you five are helping make her club so popular.
Kazuto: Actually we should be thanking her, this club has been a lot of fun for all of us.
As Suphia smirked at us she got closer to me and before I could ask why she leaned in and licked my cheek.
Girls: Hey! What are you doing!?
Kazuto: M-Ms. Suphia?!
Suphia: Oh there's no need to be so formal, you can just call me Suphia sweetie~. My cousin failed to tell me how cute you are so I took the liberty of marking you as mine.
Kazuto: W-W-Wha-?
Suphia: There's no need to be so bashful. I'm actually not that much older than those two assistants the headmaster hired. In fact they told me they are a part of your little harem and I want in. See you later cutie~.
She then walked away with a very noticeable sway in her hips as I just stood there completely still.
Girls: ( Oh great, another one. )
After getting over the initial shock I nervously turned to the girls expecting them to get mad at me for letting another woman get that close to me only to see them huddled together.
Kazuto: ( I wonder what they're talking about? )
Great Sage: Most likely it has to do with Suphia proclaiming to be a new addition to your harem.
Kazuto: ( But I never agreed to that. )
Great Sage: That may be true but it is very possible they are discussing whether or not they should take immediate action because of this new development.
As usual Great Sage was correct.
Moka: ( whispering ) So what should we do?
Kurumu: ( whispering ) What do you mean what should we do, if this keeps up we may end up having more competition than we can handle!
Mizore: ( whispering ) I actually agree. Who knows how many other girls might try to get with Kazuto at this rate.
Yukari: ( whispering ) So we're all in agreement then. We should put a limit to how many more girls we're willing to allow to join us as Kazuto's girlfriends.
Kurumu: ( whispering ) Exactly. I think we should only allow two more to join.
Moka: ( whispering ) So at the most he can have up to 10 girls in the harem?
Yukari: ( whispering ) I guess that sounds alright. But no more than that.
Mizore: ( whispering ) Yeah, I don't think I could handle more than that either.
Moka: ( whispering ) Wait what about me, don't I technically count as two with my other half?
Yukari: ( whispering ) I think that should be fine, the two of you share a single body and you're more or less the same either way.
Kurumu: ( whispering ) I guess if we want to get technical than that means his maximum total is 11 but I'm willing to count the two of you as a single person.
Moka: ( whispering ) Alright.
Meanwhile I was just awkwardly off to the side waiting for them to finish whatever conversation they were currently having.
Kazuto: ( Do I even want to know what they're talking about at this point? )
After they were finished Kurumu walked up to me and pointed her finger in my face as she gave me a serious look while the other girls stood behind her with similar expressions.
Kurumu: 10.
Kazuto: Excuse me?
Kurumu: You heard me. 10, that's how many girls we will allow you to have in your harem in total.
Yukari: With the recent addition of Shuna, Shion and now apparently Ms. Suphia that means we have two more vacant spots should you desire.
Kazuto: Huh?
Mizore: This is the final decision we agreed upon and we won't change our minds.
Moka: Now that we have that out of the way we better head for class.
The four of them started walking as I continued to stand there while trying to come to terms with what just happened.
Kazuto: Did that really just happen?
Great Sage: Yes. Would you like me to replay the terms of the conditions for your harem once more?
Kazuto: ( sigh ) Not necessary Great Sage. Might as well head to class too.
The rest of the day went smoothly, although I wasn't really paying attention because of everything that happened this morning. From finding out that the person who wanted to hurt Moka was her little sister all the way to finding out that the girls are okay with my harem having a maximum of 10 girls.
Kazuto: ( When did my life get so crazy? Take it easy Kazuto, no need to get worked up over all of this. Just tackle each problem one at a time like dad says. )
Right now we needed to go over the elephant in the room, that being what were we going to do about Kokoa. Moka said that the two of us met before all those years ago but the memory wasn't there. Maybe talking to Moka about this might shed some light on why Kokoa was perfectly fine with trying to kill me along with her sister.
After classes ended for the day we met up on the school roof so we could discuss what our next course of action should be in case we happened to bump into the psychotic orange haired vampire.
Kazuto: Alright Moka, I think it's about time you told us a little bit about your sister Kokoa. The more we know about her the better chance we have of maybe getting her to back off.
Moka: Honestly I'm not really sure that's possible but I'll tell you everything I can.
From what Moka told us she and Kokoa were the two younger sisters of a total of four, as well as telling us they have different mothers which explains why Kokoa's last name was Shuzen rather than Akashiya.
Moka: Even as little kids the two of us spent most of our time fighting one another. Back then I didn't have this rosary sealing away my powers and because of that Kokoa was never able to beat me, not even once.
Mizore: I guess that explains why she's so insistent on fighting you so badly. But it doesn't answer why she wants to kill you.
Moka: The truth is that after I turned 7 I was sent with my mother to live in the human world. Kokoa had to stay back home so in her eyes I'm basically the older sister who abandoned her.
Yukari: But none of that was your fault though!
Moka: To Kokoa it's all the same, whether or not it was my decision makes no difference to her.
Kurumu: Okay but what about when she started attacking Kazuto?
Kazuto: Yeah she said something about me being familiar but I don't think I've seen her before coming back to school.
Moka: I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, the last time you met her face to face was over ten years ago.
Kazuto: What do you mean?
Moka: Remember around Halloween when we were kids? The days leading up to it I was getting very nervous and I practically jumped at every little thing.
I thought back to that day and I did remember Moka being very jumpy. It got so bad that she practically held onto me every waking moment we were together and I almost had to pry her off me whenever I dropped her off at her house or whenever I needed to be alone like going to the bathroom.
Kazuto: I do remember that, mostly I remember finding it a bit odd that you were so nervous despite believing in monsters. I figured Halloween was your favorite holiday.
Moka: Well do you remember what happened on Halloween, we went to class in costume and everything was fine until the day ended.
I tried recalling that memory and it started coming back to me piece by piece.
( flashback- 10 years ago )
School had finally ended and I was waiting outside for Moka who went to the restroom to wash the icing off her hands from the cupcakes we ate earlier.
Kazuto: I wonder what's taking Moka so long?
I was dressed as Robin from Fire Emblem Awakening as I leaned back against a wall waiting for my best friend.
Moka: Kazuto! Help!
Moka, dressed as Cordelia from the same game, then crashed into me. After helping her up I saw her in tears as she quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me along as we started running as fast as we could.
Moka: Hurry Kazuto, we have to get away from here!
Kazuto: Moka what's wrong!? Why are we running?
Moka: There's no time to explain! Just keep running!
????: You can't escape me this time! I'm taking you down once and for all!
Looking behind us I saw what looked like a little girl dressed in a black dress with a hockey mask and wielding a chainsaw as she chased us down while laughing maniacally.
Kazuto: Is that a real chainsaw!?
Moka: Oh no she's found us! Run faster!
We were able to hide in an alley behind some wooden crates as Moka was hugging me tightly while trying to stay calm. She was still crying while I rubbed her back to help her calm down as much as I could.
Kazuto: ( She's really scared, I have to help her out. Think Kazuto, what would Robin do in a time like this? )
We were still being chased by some weird girl with a deadly weapon so fighting her was out of the question.
Kazuto: ( If I remember correctly Moka's house is closer than mine, if we can reach it before she gets us than maybe she'll leave us alone. )
It sounded like a good idea but if we weren't careful than we might end up as her next victims. I then noticed some empty cans on the ground and suddenly a plan began to take form.
Kazuto: ( whispering ) Moka I have a plan, but I need you to be brave. Can you do that for me?
She looked at me with teary eyes, but she nodded as she placed her trust in me. We gathered as many cans as we could stuff into my coat pockets and began to quietly make our way around our pursuer. We spotted her looking around as she carefully waved her chainsaw around her to look intimidating.
Kazuto: ( No doubt about it, that thing is the real deal. Gotta plan this just right if I want to get Moka to safety. )
As her back was turned towards us I grabbed one of the cans from my pocket and threw it as hard as I could in another direction.
????: Aha! There you are! You won't escape me!
She fell for it as the two of us began making our way to safety. Every time we almost ran into her I would throw another can and use the noise as a distraction so we could make our escape. We weren't far from her house until Moka accidentally tripped, the sound from her fall alerted the stranger to our position.
????: Thought you could get away from me, not this time!
I knew it was only a matter of seconds until we were caught, I only had one can left and no other ideas in mind.
Moka: Kazuto run! If you leave now you can still get away!
Kazuto: No! I won't leave you!
Moka: Just do it! If you got hurt because of me I won't forgive myself!
I didn't want to leave her but what else could I do. Looking around I noticed a large tree and I got an idea.
Kazuto: Moka, do you trust me?
Moka: Huh?
Kazuto: Do you trust me?
Moka: Yes, I do trust you Kazuto.
I simply nodded as I started running away from her. As I turned the corner I began to run faster to circle back as quickly as I could.
Kazuto: ( I need the element of surprise, if this works than we can still get away together. )
By the time I made it back I saw Moka holding an old broom handle she picked up off the ground like a lance as the girl was walking towards her with her chainsaw in front of her.
Kazuto: Leave her alone!
????: Who the heck are you!?
Moka: Kazuto what are you doing!? I told you to run!
Kazuto: Sorry Moka, but what kind of friend am I if I left you behind?
I didn't notice the blush on her cheeks as I held the can behind my back.
????: Buzz off loser, unless you want to get hurt then leave. This is between me and her!
Kazuto: No way! I won't leave Moka behind!
????: It's your funeral, don't say I didn't warn you!
Moka: Kazuto look out!
As she charged at me I threw the can at the branches above her, she must've thought I was a terrible shot but that's exactly what I wanted. Another second later and a bunch of squirrels fell from the tree and began running around her body. She was so freaked out that she dropped her weapon and began trying to get them off. In that moment I ran towards Moka and grabbed her hand and began dragging her home as fast as possible, but not before grabbing the broom handle from her and throwing it at the girls feet so she would trip on it giving us a little extra time to get away.
Kazuto: And that is how you tip the scales!
We finally made it to her house as we proceeded to lock the door behind us as we collapsed on the floor exhausted. Once we regained our breath Moka tackled me into a tight hug and refused to let go of me for the rest of the day.
Moka: My hero!
Kazuto and Moka's relationship has now reached A rank.
( Present )
Kazuto: That's right, now I remember.
After telling everyone that story we knew we had to come up with a strategy to get her off our back. If we couldn't come up with anything soon we might end up having to deal with a psychotic vampire for the rest of the year. Maybe even the rest of our lives.
Yukari: So let me get this straight, from what you both told us Kokoa has been chasing you this whole time and now she's chased you all the way to Yokai Academy?!
Moka: I'm afraid so.
Yukari: That has got to be the most single minded fixation ever.
Mizore: Man she sounds like a total pain, I can freeze her solid if you want.
Moka: ( panicked) No! Absolutely not! As messed up as she is she's still my little sister!
Kazuto: But Moka if we don't do something to stop her she may end up hurting you or worse.
Kurumu: I agree, this can't go on any longer.
Moka: Do you really mean that Kurumu?
Kurumu: Then again if you kicked the bucket that means that I become Kazuto's number one girl!
So much for her actually caring about the situation. After Kurumu began hugging me again I tried to calm her down since we needed to stay alert. We had no idea when Kokoa would try and attack Moka again and the last thing we needed was to be caught by surprise.
Ko: Hey Ms. Kokoa I found them, they're up here!
Kokoa: Nice work Mr. Ko!
Crap! This is exactly what I was afraid of. After leaping up to the rooftop she stood face to face with us with a smirk on her face directed at Moka.
Kokoa: There's no place you can hide that I can't find you! Alright Ko let's do it!
Ko: Right away Ms. Kokoa! Whee!
Suddenly the bat flew into her hands and after a few seconds it suddenly transformed into a giant sledgehammer with spikes on the sides.
Kokoa: What do you think of this. My little bat Ko is a shapeshifter which means I can transform him into anything I want!
Kurumu: No way did the animators put that bat in the anime just for that!?
Yukari: I bet the author of our manga had this in their back pocket the whole time too!
( Quick note: What did I say about those fourth wall breaks! Seriously keep comments like that to yourself next time! )
Kurumu/Yukari: Sorry Author!!!
Kokoa: Now it's time I finish you off once and for all!
She began swinging her hammer around as recklessly as possible. The rooftop began falling apart at her immense strength leaving us no choice but to retreat to safety within the halls of the school. Of course that wasn't going to help us much since Kokoa was quickly chasing us down all while continuing her assault with no care for the destruction left in her wake.
Yukari: SHE'S COMPLETELY OFF HER ROCKER!
Kurumu: MOKA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD SHE'S YOUR LITTLE SISTER SO MAKE HER STOP OR SOMETHING!
Moka: Okay I'll try!
As the rest of us ran for a few more feet Moka stopped and took a fighting stance in the middle of the hall. To us it looked like she was finally taking action and confronting her little sister head on. As Kokoa got closer we could see the insane look in her eyes and it wasn't much longer until Moka simply retreated.
Moka: I'm sorry you guys!
I guess we couldn't really blame her, as we resumed running we then came to a split in the hallway that lead to different parts of the school.
Kazuto: Everyone split up!
Mizore: Kazuto are you sure!
Kazuto: Yeah, Kokoa is after Moka and by extension me, while we lead her away the three of you can find us some back up!
Yukari: Are you seriously telling us to abandon you with that psycho! That's completely insane!
Kazuto: There's no time to argue just do it!
As we split up Kokoa obviously went after the two of us as we tried getting into a more open area where we may have a better chance at avoiding her.
Moka: Any ideas Kazuto?!
Kazuto: Just one!
As we jumped out of the way of another swing of her sledgehammer I focused my magic and before Kokoa could react I used another spell I learned over our break.
Kazuto: Dark Lance!
Five magical spears appeared around me and quickly shot towards her in quick succession that she narrowly avoided each one with the last one grazing her uniform a bit before hitting the wall behind her.
Kokoa: That trick won't work on me this time you stupid slime!
Kazuto: I'm not done yet! Dark Hand!
As Kokoa swung at us I used two of the magical arms I created to catch her hammer mid swing, two more arms came out of my back and slammed the floor to create a smoke screen of dust and debris that gave us the chance to get away. When it settled Kokoa was upset that she lost us and her anger began to rise even further.
Kokoa: No one makes a fool out of me, especially not that stupid slime. I don't care what tricks he has up his sleeve, nothing will stop me from taking my big sister down. Even if I have to tear down this entire school I won't give up. DO YOU HEAR ME, IF THIS SCHOOL HAS TO BE TORN DOWN TO GET TO YOU THEN SO BE IT!!!!!

The two of us managed to get some distance between us and Kokoa as we hid on the far side of the school behind some bushes so we could catch our breath.
Kazuto: ( panting ) Hopefully this... should be far... enough to buy some time.
Moka: ( panting ) Let's hope... so.
We both knew our cover wouldn't last, what we really needed was a way to stop Kokoa's rampage before it escalated any further.
Kazuto: If we don't do something soon we might be pushed into a corner. I hate to say it but we're running out of options.
Moka: So what should we do?
A part of me believed that it was probably time to release her vampire powers, if anything else at least the Inner Moka stood a very good chance at taking out Kokoa and stopping this madness once and for all. Before I could say anything about that we heard a pair of footsteps running towards us and some screaming following afterwards.
????: Keep running!
????: What's that girls problem anyway!?
We peeked from our hiding spot as we saw a girl with long red hair running away with a familiar looking girl with brown hair. Not only that but their screams were followed along with a very familiar maniacal laughter.
Kazuto: Framea over here! You and your friend can come and hide with us!
Wasting no time the two of them jumped into the bushes with us as we heard more crashes coming from the school as more of it was undoubtedly turned to rubble. After a minute or so things finally calmed down as we took a moment to relax.
Kazuto: ( whispering ) I think we're in the clear.
Framea: Thanks for letting us join you guys.
????: Yeah thanks. Seriously who was that girl anyway and what the heck is her problem?
Moka: It's a long story.
Kazuto: So Framea is this that friend you mentioned the other day?
Framea: Yeah she is-... wait how do you know my name?
I then took out the notepad from yesterday as I handed it to her.
Kazuto: You dropped this the other day, when I tried calling out to you before you were already gone so I held on to it until I could return it.
Framea: Thank you so very much, I was afraid I lost this forever!
????: Hold on a moment, aren't you Kazuto Tempest?
Kazuto: Yeah that's me, and what's your name?
Miia: My name is Miia, Framea and I are actually friends with the captain of the track team and I wanted to personally thank you for helping her out with that peeping tom incident last year.
Kazuto: No problem, I was just happy to help.
Framea: So do you think that girl is finally gone?
Moka: Maybe, but we shouldn't let our guard down. She's extremely relentless and won't give up that easily.
Miia: From the sounds of it you have some experience with her. Do you happen to know her?
Moka: Well-...
Ko: Kokoa they're over here! Hurry before they- GAH!!!!!
Having enough of this I shot a fireball at the bat and sent him flying into another bush.
Kazuto: I'm getting really tired of that annoying thing giving away our position.
Kokoa: There you are!!!
Us: Crap! She's already here!
Kokoa: I'm getting very annoyed with you running away all the time, now let's finish this already! Ko transform!
Ko: Yes Ms. Kokoa! Whee!
After returning to her hand she now wielded a spiked metal bat and was ready to knock us out of the park in a single swing.
Miia: This is bad!
Framea: She's insane!
Kurumu/Yukari: Halt villain!
Looking up at the roof of the school we saw Kurumu and Yukari standing proudly in cosplay as they began giving a superhero style monologue before jumping down and finishing up with a dramatic pose.
Kurumu/Yukari: Cower in fear of the sensational duo of Pretty Witch and Love Love Succubus!
Kazuto: ...
Moka: ...
Framea: ...
Miia: ...
Kokoa: ...
Yeah. That was pretty weird, not sure where they got the idea for that but I'm pretty sure I don't want to know.
Apparently they weren't finished yet as they were about to continue but they didn't have the chance as Kokoa just attacked them and knocked them back before they could get in another word.
Kurumu: Hey what gives, we weren't finished yet!
Yukari: Yeah, don't you know it's against the rules to attack in the middle of our cheer!
Mizore: What are you two talking about, we're wasting time. We should just put her on ice and call it a day.
As the three of them stood together they were all prepared to go on the offensive as they attacked at once.
Moka: Stop it you guys! I know she's being a brat but she's still my little sister!
Mizore/Kurumu/Yukari: Huh?
Framea/Miia: What?! Your sister?!
* WHACK *
Kokoa: Caught you slipping!
Kurumu: Not again!
Ouch, that one looked like it hurt. The girls were bleeding a bit but otherwise they didn't look too badly hurt. With no other viable option it looked like it was up to myself and Moka to settle this.
Kurumu: ( groaning ) Okay, I'm really starting to hate that little brat.
Yukari: ( groaning ) Tell me about it.
Mizore: ( groaning ) My face really hurts.
Kokoa: Now who wants to be next? You big sister, or that pathetic slime?
Miia: Hey what's that up there?
Looking back up we saw Rubi on the roof with Gin standing next to her.
Gin: Sorry we're late everyone.
Rubi: Just stand back and let the two of us handle it from here.
Kurumu: Would you look at that, our club president has finally arrived! That little girl is toes!
Yukari: It's toast not toes you dummy!
It looked like things were finally going our way, with Rubi and Gin joining the fight we might actually have a chance at winning. Rubi had been practicing her magic alongside me during most of the break and Gin might have a trick or two up his sleeve for the lack of power he would have during the day.
Kazuto: With the two of them here we might have a shot at this.
Framea: You really think so?
Moka: I'm pretty sure we do, we just have to put our trust in them.
Kokoa: Grr, so the two of you want some of this as well huh? Fine then, if you think you can challenge me than bring it on!
Gin: You heard the kid Rubi, let's go!
Rubi: Right behind you!
Suddenly all our hopes were shattered, the next thing we knew we were in the middle of an impromptu photo shoot as Gin started taking photos of Rubi on the roof of the school.
Kazuto: ( What is that overgrown mutt thinking?! I am so gonna have a few words with him when I'm done with him! )
Once it looked like he started taking more risqué shots my aura spiked, I then remembered that my parents anniversary was coming up and thought about the possibility of getting them a new fur rug made from a certain werewolf.
Rubi: ( Kazuto this is your chance, while Kokoa's distracted get the others out of here and find a place to hide! )
Kazuto: ( Wait what?! )
Rubi: ( You heard me, the two of us came up with this plan so hurry up before she notices. Also please don't hurt Gin, his camera has no film and the lens cap is still on. I made sure of that myself so there's nothing to worry about. After all you're the only one who gets to see all the good stuff Honey~. )
Before I could let that thought linger I used Thought Communication and had the girls follow me away from here and back into the gym where we hid underneath the stage by using a trap door located behind the curtain. The good news was we finally got away from Kokoa for the moment so we could catch our breath, the bad news was the space was sort of cramped with all 7 of us in here together.
Kazuto: ( sigh ) ( whispering ) Finally, we're safe. At least for a while.
Yukari: ( whispering ) I'm completely exhausted.
Mizore: ( whispering ) Damn, this girl is really persistent.
Kurumu: ( whispering ) If the stalker woman says you're too persistent you have some serious issues.
Mizore: ( whispering ) Shut up, at least when I stalk people I'm smart about it.
Miia: ( whispering ) Hey, not that we're ungrateful or anything for you letting us join you guys but can someone explain to us what the heck is going on?!
Framea: ( whispering ) Also it's really cramped in here, can you guys maybe move a little. It's getting a bit difficult to breathe in here.
Kazuto: ( whispering ) Let me try something.
I changed into my slime form and shrunk to about half my regular size while sitting comfortably in Moka's arms as she held me like a stuffed animal.
Kazuto: ( whispering ) Is that any better?
Framea: ( whispering ) Yeah thanks.
Miia: ( whispering ) So can someone explain what's that little girls deal? Is she really your little sister.
Moka: ( whispering ) It's a bit complicated but I'll try.
( One explanation later. )
Miia: Oh my gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. I can't believe your little sister has been chasing you for so long just to try and kill you.
Framea: ( whispering ) Guys I think I hear something!
We then heard a pair of footsteps echoing throughout the gym as we held our breath hoping we wouldn't be spotted. After what felt like an eternity the sounds began to grow quieter as whoever was just here left us alone. With a sigh of relief we felt brave enough to get out of our hiding place as we surveyed the room.
Framea: Looks like the coast is clear.
Miia: Thank goodness, I thought we were done for back there.
Mizore: Tell me about it.
While everyone looked relieved I noticed that Moka was staring off into the distance.
Kazuto: Moka is everything alright?
Moka: Guys I think I need to face Kokoa for real this time.
Yukari: Moka are you nuts, that's a terrible idea!
Moka: This whole mess is because of me, the longer this keeps up the more trouble this is going to cause for everyone around me.
Moka then put me down as I changed back to my human form as we all tried talking her out of it.
Moka: I know that I can't beat her physically, but I can't let other people get caught in this any longer. If I try and talk to her myself then maybe I can convince her to stop all of this.
Kazuto: Moka just wait a sec, at least let us help you!
Moka: Don't follow me. I mean it!
( Moka's pov )
It was time I finally settled this dispute between Kokoa and myself. I wasn't about to let my friends get dragged into this anymore. After a few minutes of searching I finally found Kokoa far away from the school in a clearing surrounded by tombstones.
Kokoa: I can't believe it, after all this time you actually had the guts to come and challenge me for a fight rather than me looking for you. You have no idea how long I've waited for this day.
Moka: I had no choice, if I didn't then my friends and everyone else at this school would've gotten hurt because of you. It's time we settled this once and for all.
Kokoa: You have no idea how happy hearing you say that makes me. Now let's fight like we were always meant to!
As Kokoa changed her bat into a giant mace she charged at me, with every intent to kill me I had no choice but to evade her attacks to the best of my abilities. With every strike from her weapon the ground was reduced to rubble and she was getting closer to making contact with me. I picked up a large metal cross from the ground and used it as a makeshift weapon to defend myself as best as possible. Her strikes were very effective as it just got harder and harder to fight back against her.
Kokoa: What's wrong with you, I know you can fight better than that! So stop holding back and fight me for real!
In the end I couldn't beat her, as she knocked the cross away from me she had her mace hovering slightly over my head as I was on my knees in defeat.
Moka: You beat me fair and square Kokoa, I know it may not have looked like it but I used all my strength just now.
Kokoa: You jerk.
Moka: Huh?
Kokoa: Don't play dumb with me, I know you're far stronger than that so why don't you fight me at your full strength!
Moka: Kokoa I can't.
Kokoa: Can't or won't, maybe I should go after that little boyfriend of yours and see if that changes your mind!
Moka: You can't, this is between you and me! Kazuto has nothing to do with this!
Kokoa: What are you talking about, of course he does! He stopped me last time and I promised myself that if I ever saw him again I would take him out for getting in my way!
Kazuto: Is that so, well in that case I guess there's no need for me to hold back.
( Kazuto's pov )
We finally arrived to where Moka was fighting her sister. The ground was riddled with small craters, multiple trees and tombstones were destroyed and Moka was on the ground defeated.
Moka: Kazuto what are you and the others doing here?!
Kurumu: Did you really think we were going to just sit back and let you take on your psychotic sister all by yourself?
Mizore: If that's the case your even crazier than she is.
I stepped up as Kokoa got her mace ready, accessing the stomach of my Predator skill I pulled out the katana I got from Grandpa Hakurou and Uncle Kurobe.
Kazuto: Okay, why don't you try and take me on instead!
Kokoa: Gladly! You're going to pay for getting in my way again you stupid slime!
As she brought down her mace with all her strength I used Steel Strength and Strengthen Body to hold her back. Thanks to absorbing Kuyo's power last year my overall strength had increased as well as my magical reserves, that meant that I had an easier time holding her back than I would have before.
After breaking away from her I began my own assault of sword strikes as she defended herself before striking back at me.
Kokoa: I don't understand, why are you fighting so hard to protect her like this?
Kazuto: Easy, because she's important to me, as well as the others. If someone or something threatens to hurt them than I'll fight to the bitter end to protect them!
Kokoa: That's big talk coming from the weakest monster to ever exist. I don't know how you're able to keep up with me but I won't be defeated by someone like you!
Kokoa then changed her weapon to a large cutlass as her attacks became faster, Great Sage helped me with my reactions as I had to be extremely careful not to get blindsided.
Framea: Incredible. He's keeping up with her so easily.
Miia: Yeah, it's almost scary how he can fight on par with her.
Yukari: I know. I'm still worried though, Kokoa is supposed to be another S-Class monster so I'm worried she may have a trick up her sleeve to turn the tides in her favor.
As our battle continued I noticed Kokoa infusing her aura into her weapon as her attacks became stronger and faster.
Kazuto: ( Alright then, two can play at that game. )
I used the same technique as her and the force from our strikes created small shockwaves as the wind blew violently every time our swords crossed.
Kurumu: What's with these shockwaves, are they causing this?
Mizore: I think so, just how much power are they putting into their attacks?
Moka: Please be careful Kazuto.
After pushing Kokoa back I could easily tell by her expression that she was close to a meltdown. She transformed her weapon back into a mace as she charged at me, as I prepared myself to counter her she slipped past me and headed straight for Moka.
Kokoa: It's time I finally wiped you off the face of the earth!
Kazuto: Moka!
Wasting no time I sheathed my sword as I concentrated my magic power into one of my new skills.
Kazuto: Dark Phantasm!
My energy quickly spread into a barrier that ended between Kokoa and Moka. As my body was surrounded in my aura a stream of it shot out from me and flew past Koka, as she brought her weapon down it was suddenly deflected by a black and blue doppelgänger made of my magic as it quickly struck her three times in succession before dissipating along with the barrier.
Before Kokoa could recover I ran towards Moka as I stored my weapon in my stomach as I reached for her. Just as I got to her Great Sage alerted me of Kokoa striking at us once more.
Kokoa: I've had enough of you two, just die already!
Girls: Moka! Kazuto!
Soon enough a cloud of dust and the rumble of the ground was all that could be witnessed as Kokoa had finally got what she wanted.
Kokoa: Finally, I finally got my revenge on her and her little boyfriend.
Inner Moka: I can't believe that my own sister hates me so much that she's actually willing to kill me.
Suddenly her mace was being lifted with ease, as Kokoa tried her best to resist it was all for nothing as she was face to face with her sister once more.
Inner Moka: Regardless if she's my sister or not, anyone that dares to strike me down will get no mercy from me.
In my hands you could see the rosary as I managed to get it off Moka before we were struck.
Kazuto: That was a little too close I have to admit. I really didn't want our reunion to end up like this.
Inner Moka: It's fine, I'm sure you can make up to me somehow lover. Until then I suppose I need to teach this little girl her place.
Kokoa: No way... are you-...?
As soon as Moka got Kokoa's mace off of us she quickly delivered a powerful kick to her sisters chest that sent her flying. She ended up crashing into some tombstones that no doubt caused her some damage.
Inner Moka: Listen up, I don't want any of you to interfere. I know you want to help but leave this to me.
Kazuto: Are you sure?
Inner Moka: I am. You did a good job of wearing her out earlier Kazuto, but don't forget that Kokoa is a vampire. A kick like that won't be enough to finish her off.
As she predicted Kokoa got back up with her aura shining more intensity than before. Her anger was rising as we felt the wind beginning to rage even from this far away.
Inner Moka: So you can still get back up from a kick like that huh.
Yukari: No way, she took a direct kick from Moka right to the chest and she's still getting up for another round?!
Kurumu: Are we about to witness a duel to the death between two vampires?!
Mizore: When two powerful monsters go head to head who knows what will go down.
Framea: They might even destroy the whole school at this rate!
Kazuto: Moka you have to stop this, if you don't there might be lots of collateral damage!
Miia: He's right, who knows who might get caught in the crossfire if you keep this up!
Unfortunately our cries for this madness to end fell on deaf ears. Moka looked like she wanted this to continue and it was no use talking her out of it.
Inner Moka: Atta girl Kokoa, come at me with everything you've got.
We were about to witness what was possibly the greatest clash between monsters in history. Two of the strongest monsters battling it out to see who would reign supreme.
Kokoa: Big sister!
Maybe not.
Next thing we knew Kokoa ran up to Moka to hug her lovingly. After everything we went through the last two days we certainly didn't expect things to turn out like this.
Kokoa: ( sobbing ) Big sister it's really you! I missed you so much! Please don't ever leave me ever again!
Inner Moka: Kokoa what are you doing? Weren't you just saying that you were going to kill me earlier?
Kokoa: Not you, I meant that other version of you. That pink haired loser isn't anything like the real you! Please don't turn into that wimp ever again!
Inner Moka: Okay, you're starting to get on my nerves. Now let go of me!
The rest of us stood back and watched the interaction between the two of them just as confused as Moka.
Kurumu: So let me get this straight, what Kokoa wanted all along was...
Yukari: The big sister that she remembered growing up with.
Mizore: While the Moka we all know and love was the only one she wanted to get rid of.
Miia: This is very confusing, but at least it seems like she might calm down now.
Framea: Let's hope so, I don't think I could deal with having to experience this every day until we graduate.
Suddenly Moka had finally had enough of Kokoa constantly annoying her so she kicked her away. Oddly enough Kokoa actually looked like she enjoyed it this time.
Kokoa: That was amazing, there's nothing like getting kicked by my big sister. Her strength is just as spectacular as I remember it.
Kazuto: You've got to be kidding me.
Afterwards we decided to head back to the dorms to finally put an end to the day. I didn't know how we were going to deal with Kokoa in the future, especially since it doesn't seem like she's going to stop trying to keep her " real " big around more often than the one she doesn't care for. However what I do know is that no matter the obstacle I have to face I will give it my all to make sure my friends and I get through it together.
Moka: Kazuto.
Kazuto: Yeah Moka.
Moka: I'm so tired, can I...?
Kazuto: Sure. Take as much as you need.
Moka: Thank you.
And so our second year at Yokai Academy began with the introduction of some new friends and a new vampire joining us on campus. What kinds of adventures are awaiting us?
