Sorry for the late update (again).
We recently moved to another city and my art has taken off. I'm getting more and more commissions, so not much time for writing.
Hope you enjoy this chapter!
"See you tomorrow, Mr. LeBeau!" A few students called out as they left the room.
Turning around, he began to erase the board and chuckled when he saw the eraser. That was a good shot yesterday. Continuing to erase the board, he heard footsteps at the entrance. Turning around, he saw Rogue walking in with a smile.
"Back a'ready?" He asked, setting the eraser down and walking around his desk to meet her.
"Yep." She said, wrapping her arms around his neck and looked into his eyes. "Just had a meetin' with Charles."
Gambit raised an eyebrow. "About?" He asked.
"Havin' Dani's mom come and check out tha school. She's mighty excited about seeing why her daughter's so fired up about staying here." Rogue said, kissing him softly. "Of course he said yes. Ah'm excited for her ta have her mama visit."
"I guess." Gambit said, letting his hands fall to her waist. "Mean I gotta be on m' bes' behav'r."
"Oh stop. Ya a fine gentlemen." She said, pulling away and taking his hand. "Charles said she could come out, next week."
"All t'ese trips makin' m' tired." He said as he heard a buzz. "Ain' me."
Rogue reached back and felt her phone. "It's me." She said, looking at the number and shrugging before answering. "Hello?"
Turning, Gambit started to pack his things up as he listened in on the conversation.
"Oh! Mr. Henry!" She said, excitedly. "Thank ya for callin' me back!"
Gambit smiled at her excitement as he slung his back over his shoulder. Rogue put her index finger up to let Gambit know to wait a minute, as she listened.
"Sure. A meetin' sounds fine. When, where and what time?" She asked, shaking her head before looking at Gambit. "Best time would be the weekend, ah'm afraid. My husband teaches during the day... Are ya sure?... Then Saturday at two it is. Thank you again for calling me back, Mr. Henry... Ya have a good night, too. Bye."
Turning her phone off, Rogue immediately pressed herself against Gambit and kissed him. "Good news, I take it." He said when she pulled away.
"That was Lawrence Henry. The guy Charles recommended to us for adoptin'." She said.
"Ah!" He said, smiling. "Exciting, indeed." He said, grabbing his bag and zipping it up before walking out with Rogue and locking the door. "Maybe we get t' adopt?"
"Ah don't know. That's why were gonna meet with him." Rogue said as they head into the kitchen where several students were having lunch.
"Y' hungry, cher?" He asked, opening the cupboard.
Rogue shook her head. "Ah ate a big breakfast." She said, placing her hand on her stomach. "Dani's mom sure know how ta make a breakfast."
He smiled as he grabbed a bowl. "I'ma just have somet'in' simple." He said as he turned and head for the pantry.
"Mommy!" Leila squealed across the kitchen.
"Hey, baby!" Rogue said, bending down and picking her up. "Ah missed ya!"
"I missed you, too!" Leila said before she held up a paper. "Look!"
Rogue took the paper and looked to see that she had gotten a sticker for writing out the first three letters of the alphabet correctly. "Good job!" She said, holding her hand out for a high five.
"It was easy!" Leila said excitedly as Rogue walked her over and sat her down at the bar with her.
Reaching over, Rogue tucked a piece of hair back behind her ear that had escaped her ponytail and smiled. "Ah hope ya likin' school." She said.
"I do!" Leila said looking at her mom as she leaned on her elbows against the bar. "I have friends!"
"That's wonderful, hun." She smiled, adding a wink as Gambit walked over and pretended to sit on Leila.
"Hey!" Leila giggled.
"Oh, sorry. Didn' see y' t'ere." He joked as he sat down beside her at the vacant bar stool and ate his lunch.
"What's ya favorite part about school?" Rogue asked.
"Animals." They looked over and saw Rikki smiling. "We always talk about animals that correspond to the letters of the alphabet we're learning. Yesterday and today, she lit up when we went over it."
"She prob'bly be a vet one day." Gambit said, taking a bite of his simple turkey sandwich.
"What's a vet?" Leila asked.
"It's a doctor for animals." Rogue said. "They can take care of puppies and kitties all tha way up ta horses and elephants."
"And giraffes?" Leila asked, excitedly.
Rogue chuckled and nodded. "And giraffes." She said, leaning over and kissing the top of her head.
"Gonna turn in t' a giraffe." Gambit said, making Leila smile as she took a bite of sandwich Gambit offered.
"How's Micah likin' it?" Rogue asked.
Rikki sighed. "He's jealous. I know he is." She said.
"Ah don't blame him." Rogue said. "Ya with ya child twenty four seven for tha first several years of their lives and then they gotta go off ta school. In your case, ya givin' ya attention to other kids and ya can't give him special treatment."
"Exactly." Rikki sighed again. "I'm still trying to learn how to set boundaries, but not cross the line of being motherly."
"Well, do ya need some help?" Rogue asked.
"No, I don't think so." Rikki shook her head. "It hasn't come to that, yet."
"Well, ya let me know." Rogue said. "Ah'll gladly come and help ya out, hun."
"Thanks." Rikki said as she walked over and grabbed a protein shake from the fridge. "Well, see you guys later."
"Mommy?" Leila asked, getting Rogue's attention.
"Yes, sugah pop?" She asked.
"Are you going to go somewhere again?" Leila asked.
Rogue shook her head and smiled as she hugged Leila. "Nope. Mommy's staying right here." She said.
"Yay!" Leila exclaimed as she took another bite of Gambit's sandwich before he let her have the rest.
"A'right. I see y'all later t'night." Gambit said as he stood up and kissed the top of Leila's head before he kissed Rogue. "We talk later, eh?"
"Mm hmm." She said as she watched him leave the kitchen before turning back around and looking at the clock. "Leila, ya need ta hurry up. Lunch is almost over. Let me get ya some water."
"Anna?" Rogue looked up from filing.
"Hmm?" She asked, looking at Jean.
Jean smiled. "You haven't been listening to a word I've said, have you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
Rogue chuckled. "Ah'm sorry, hun." She said, sitting down on the couch. "Ah'm distracted."
"Clearly." Jean said walking over and sitting on the couch beside her. "What's going on?"
Rogue smiled as she looked at her lap.
Jean gasped. "Are you pregnant?" She asked, making Rogue look up at her.
"What? No." Rogue chuckled. "Ah mean, ah'd love for that ta be tha case, but it ain't"
"Then what's going on? You're so distant right now." Jean said, setting her hand on Rogue's right knee.
"Remy and ah," She started. "We've decided ta adopt and we have a meeting with someone Charles knows that could help us out."
Jean's smile widened. "That's great!" She said. "I'm so happy for the two of you!"
"Thanks." Rogue said. "Ah'm scared ta death, 'cause ah feel like we ain't gonna get approved."
Jean's eyebrows dipped. "Why do you feel that way?" She asked, seeing Rogue take in a deep breath before answering.
"Because. Nothin' ever works out for us." She said.
"But, you're married you have a beautiful daughter you have a home."
"No, no." Rogue cut her off. "Ah mean, nothin' ever works out for us mutants."
"That's not true." Jean said. "Besides, if the Professor knows this guy, he'll get you two set up. Don't worry about it. It'll be fine."
"Ah'm tryin' ta tell myself that." Rogue warily chuckled. "But there's always that bit of doubt in tha back of my mind."
"Throw it out." Jean said. "That'll only make you sick."
"Ah'll try." Rogue said, looking at Jean.
"That's all I'm asking." Jean smiled before she placed her hand on her belly. "Rolling around."
Rogue placed her hand on Jean's belly and smiled as she felt the baby move around. "Wow." She said.
"She moves around a lot." Jean said with a smile.
"She?" Rogue asked, looking up at Jean. "Ah didn't know ya found out what it was already."
Jean shook her head at her slip of the tongue. "Technically, we haven't. That appointment is coming up, but I'm getting to know her through our connection." She said, touching her head.
"That must be amazin'." Rogue said.
"Don't say anything. Scott doesn't know and he wanted to find out with me." Jean said.
"Ya secret's safe with me." Rogue said, winking at Jean before they went back to their paperwork. "So, Dani's momma is gonna come check out the school."
"That should be fun." Jean said, looking at Rogue. "When are you going to get her?"
Rogue smiled. "Well, ah hope ah ain't tha one goin' ta get her." She said. "Ah'm done traveling and Leila doesn't want me ta go. Ah don't blame her."
"I guess Ororo will be getting her then." Jean said as she placed the papers in a file and handed it to Rogue.
"Not ta mention the time changes are killin' me." She said. "Ah feel like ah ain't got any sleep this week or last."
"Well, I'll make sure you don't leave anywhere for a while." Jean said with a smile.
Rogue chuckled. "Thanks, hun." She said as she closed the filing cabinet and opened the second drawer to file some more files.
"Ey!" Gambit said with a smile as Dani walked into his last class of the day. "Glad y' could make it. Have a seat anywhere. Ain' no assigned seatin'."
"Alright." Dani said, taking a seat in the front on the right.
As more students entered, the more uncomfortable Dani looked to Gambit.
Walking over to her, he smiled. "Y' gonna be a'right?" He asked, seeing her smile up at him.
"Yeah." She answered as the bell rang.
"A'right." Gambit said, quieting the classroom as he walked back to his desk. "So, we gonna get started on cookin' t'day. I hope y'all brought a notebook of some sort t' take notes."
The class listened as he walked them through three easy recipes. He noticed Dani listened closely and took down a lot of notes. For a twelve year old, that impressed him. A few students volunteered when he asked, and they got to help make each recipe. Before they all knew it, class was over and the bell was ringing.
"A'right. I see y'all t'morrow." He said, placing his hands on his waist and watching them gather their things and leave.
Turning around, he began to erase the board as the last of the students left. "Do you need help cleaning up?" He heard Dani ask.
Turning back around, he looked down at her and smiled. "Non. Y' jus' run on an' enjoy de evenin'. I 'ppreciate it, t'ough." He said, adding a wink, as he went back and continued to erase the board.
"Okay, well, see ya tomorrow!" She called as she left.
Finishing the task, he set the eraser down on the ledge of the board and turned around to gather his papers. Straightening them out, he placed them in his folder and put everything into his bag. Shutting down his laptop, he noticed it was getting slower and slower.
"I'ma start using Somet'in' else." He said quietly to himself as he placed the laptop in the bag before slinging it over his shoulder.
Walking over to the pantry, he locked it up before heading to the door and hitting the lights and closing the classroom door. He smiled when he saw his dad holding Leila at the end of the hall.
"T'ought maybe y' lef' us. Where y' been t'day?" He asked, walking up to the both of them.
Jean-Luc smiled as he walked with Gambit to the kitchen. "Jus' checkin' in wit' e'eryone back home. Makin' sure t'ey don' need me." He said.
"How long y' stayin', anyhow?" Gambit asked, grabbing a bottled water and watched as Leila played with his mustache.
He smiled at Leila before looking at Gambit. "I figure a few mo' days, if dat be fine wit' y'all." He said.
Gambit shrugged as he head out and toward the stairs. "I t'ink maybe we go out fo' dinner, eh?" He asked as they climbed the flights to the third floor.
"Am I bein' invited?" Jean-Luc asked, setting Leila down and taking her hand as they walked down the hall and took a right.
"Oui, y' bein' invited." Gambit said, smirking at him. "Wha' kinda son y' t'ink I am?"
Jean-Luc let out a laugh. "Ain' gonna answer dat one." He said, making them both laugh as they came to the bedroom door.
"A'right. We get ready. Meet down in de main hall at six." He said, opening the bedroom door. "C'mon petit."
"But I wanna stay with Papa Jean-Luc." Leila said, looking up at Gambit.
"At leas' put yo' back pack in yo' room." He said walking inside.
"Okay." Leila said as she ran across the room took her back pack off, dropped it in the middle of her floor, ran back and took Jean-Luc's hand
"Well, now. Dat was quick." Jean-Luc said with a smile. "Y' listen good."
"What's all this commotion outside our room?" They looked toward the end of the hall and saw Rogue.
"We're goin' out to eat!" Leila said, spinning around while holding on to Jean-Luc's hand.
"Am I invited?" She asked with a smile.
"Wha' kinda question is dat?" Gambit asked, putting his hand out for her to take. "Y' a'ways invited."
Pulling her close, he kissed her softly before she pulled away. "When are we leavin'?" She has asked, walking into their room.
"Six!" Leila called, making her smile.
"Where we goin'? Just so ah know what ta wear." Rogue asked, looking back at Gambit.
He shrugged. "Figured pizza." He said. "No need t' dress up."
"Alright, well, it ain't for another hour and forty-five minutes, so ah'm gonna take a little nap" Rogue said, crossing her arms just under her bust.
"Nap sound nice." Gambit said, taking his bag off his shoulder.
"Well, dis one an' me gonna go have fun while y' two ol' people sleep." Jean-Luc said, making them laugh. "See y' at six."
After they walked away, Gambit closed the door to their bedroom before he looked back at Rogue. "Bet yo' tired. Y' didn' get no sleep at all durin' de day?" He asked, watching her kick her shoes off and lie down before walking around and doing the same.
"Nah." She said as she set her alarm for six as Gambit cuddled close. "Jean needed my help. Can't turn her down."
"She ain' helpless, y' know." He said, playing with her hair.
"Ah know, but she's become a great friend over the years." Rogue said as she turned over to face him. "Plus she's huge pregnant."
Gambit chuckled. "She is pretty huge." He agreed as Rogue kissed his forehead.
"Now no more talkin'. Ah'm tired." She said as she closed her eyes.
"A'right." He said, draping his arm over her side.
When the alarm went off, they got dressed and met up with Jean-Luc and Leila in the garage. As Rogue opened the passenger door, Nightcrawler appeared beside her, making her jump.
"Anna, you are needed in ze vwar room." He said, an urgency in his voice.
Looking across the top of the sedan, she shrugged at Gambit. "Ah'm gonna hafta get a rain check, sugah." She said, shutting the door as she helped Leila in her car seat. "Mommy's gotta go talk with Uncle Scott, so ah can't go ta dinner with ya. Ah want ya on ya best behavior, ya hear?"
"Okay." Leila said as Rogue shut the door.
Walking around the car, Rogue took Gambit's hands. "Ah'll catch ya later, lover." She said, giving him a quick kiss before she headed to the door of the garage.
"Anna." Gambit called, getting her attention. "Y' be safe, eh?"
She winked at him before she walked with Nightcrawler into the hallway before he teleported them down into the sub level of the mansion. Walking into the war room, she saw Cyclops suited up along with Storm, Shadowcat and Wolverine.
"Well now, what's got y'all up in a tizzy?" She asked, taking a seat beside Wolverine.
"Sentinels." Cyclops said.
"Again?" Rogue asked, looking around the room. "Ah thought we got rid of those tin men years ago."
"I thought we did too, but someone else is funding the project, unrelated to the government." Cyclops said, pulling up a holographic projector in the middle of the table.
"Privately funded, then." Shadowcat said.
"Yep." Cyclops said. "We're heading up to Maine. It's where they're being mass produced, but they aren't the sentinels we're use to fighting. They're apparently eight feet tall."
"Where's the challenge in that?" Wolverine asked with a smirk.
"Don't let their size fool you." Cyclops said. "They're just as powerful, if not more so, than the old ones."
"So we are going up there to stop their production, I assume?" Storm asked.
"Exactly. I know it feels our job is nothing but dealing with shutting down these warehouses, but it has to be done. There are mutant lives on the line." He said.
"Are we dealing with security?" Shadowcat asked. "Armed guards and whatnot?"
"I have no clue. We're pretty much going in blind. That's why I've assembled my heavy hitters." Cyclops looked at Rogue. "Hope you don't mind."
Rogue smirked. "Ya kiddin'? Ah've been wanting to get outside tha Danger Room for a while." She said, standing. "Let me just get suited up."
"We meet in the hanger in five." Cyclops said, dismissing the group.
Heading out of the war room and down the hall, Rogueu entered the locker room and walked over to her locker. Opening it, she saw her dark green uniform staring at her. Grabbing it, she tossed it on the bench behind her as she took her shirt off. Tossing her shirt and bra in her locker, she pulled the sports bra over her head, adjusting herself before she took her jeans off and threw them in the locker. Stepping into her suit, she put it on and zipped it up before she grabbed her belt and wrapped it around her, clicking it in the front. Finally, she slipped her boots on and tossed her shoes in the locker before she shut it and walked out to head toward the hanger.
She winked at Wolverine as she walked with him to the jet. "You nervous?" He asked as he watched her pull her hair back.
"Why should ah be?" She asked as they boarded the jet.
"Well, you don't normally get called into action. Especially since you two have Leila now." He said as they sat down beside each other.
"Ah'm an X-Men, Logan." Rogue said buckling her seatbelt. "Ah may not go on many missions, but ah damn well don't mind it when ah do."
Wolverine smirked. "I miss fighting beside ya." He said, buckling his own seatbelt.
"Well, ya just got ya wish, sugah." Rogue said as the hanger closed and Cyclops started up the jet.
"Where're we goin'?" Leila asked as they headed toward the mom and pop pizza place.
"Gonna have pizza." Gambit said, looking at his dad. "Dat a'right?"
"Fine b' me." Jean-Luc said. "Don' mind checkin' out yo' dinnin' places."
"Well, y' won' be disappointed." Gambit said, parking the car and killing the engine before turning and looking back at Leila. "Le's go get some pizza!"
"Yeah!" Leila said excitedly as she threw her arms in the air.
Getting out of the car, Gambit helped her out of her car seat and they walked inside, hand in hand. When they entered, the hostess greeted them.
"Three?" She asked.
"Yep! Three!" Leila said, holding three fingers up.
The hostess smiled. "Right this way." She said as they followed her to a booth by a window. "How's this?"
"Parfait." Gambit said, winking at the hostess. "Merci."
The hostess smiled and slightly blushed. "Someone will be right over to help you. Enjoy." She said, walking off.
Jean-Luc chuckled as they took their seats. Leila went under the table to sit beside Jean-Luc as Gambit sat in the middle of the seat. Taking the kid menu, Gambit pushed it in front of her.
"Wha' y' wanna eat?" He asked, pointing to the pictures on the menu, noticing she wasn't paying attention. "Leila Noel, wha' d' y' want?"
Leila looked at the picures. "Pizza!" She said, turning and hugging Jean-Luc. "Cheese!"
"A'right." Gambit said, sitting back as the waitress walked over.
"Good evening." She said, getting their attention.
"Evenin'." Gambit said, looking up at her.
"What can I get you to drink?" She asked.
"Two cokes." Gambit said, pointing at himself and Leila.
"Alright. Two cokes." She said, looking at Jean-Luc. "And for you, sir?"
"Wha' de hell, I do a coke, too." He said, making the waitress smile.
"I'll be right back" She said, walking off.
"Y' need t' watch yo' mout'." Gambit said, looking at his dad.
"I bet she hear worse." He said.
"No she ain'" Gambit said.
Looking at Leila, he realized she was too busy working the maze on the kid's menu, but he knew she heard.
"Papa Jean-Luc?" Leila asked.
"Yes'm." He said, giving her his full attention.
"Are you gonna stay forever?" She asked, placing her hands on either side of his face.
"Wish I could, petit, but I gotta be gettin' home in a few days. Yo' uncle can' handle bein' by his self for a while." He said.
"Aww." She said, pouting her bottom lip.
"C'mon now." He said, kissing her forehead. "I be back. Ma'be y' come visit me."
Leila gasped with excitement. "Can I go visit Papa Jean-Luc? Please?" She plead.
Gambit smiled. "We see wha' happens." He said. "Gotta talk wit' mommy."
"Bet y' two could use de break." He said, looking at Gambit.
"We make it work." Gambit said, seeing his dad chuckle.
"Y' know wha' I mean." He said, raising his eyebrows.
Gambit smirked. "Dat depar'ment be fine." He said.
"When de las' time?" Jean-Luc asked.
"She be right here." Gambit said, looking at Leila. "Ain' talkin' 'bout dis."
"Been dat long, eh?" His dad asked with a smile.
"We ain' talkin' 'bout dis." He said, reaching over and taking a crayon. "Mind if I color wit' y', Leila?"
When the jet landed, the team exited quietly on to the grassy field. "Alright, Storm, take Wolverine, Shadowcat and Nightcrawler with you. Rogue and I will hang back and,"
"Wait, why ain't ah going' in if ya need heavy hitters?" Rogue asked.
Cyclops looked at her. "We're hanging back to protect the jet. If we can't get away,"
"But me and Logan can tear the place up by ourselves." Rogue said, placing her hands on her hips. "Just send us both in and,"
"We're sticking to the plan." Cyclops said. "Once they get in there and shut the production down, we'll be out here where the fighting will take place. They'll have no choice but to pour out and see who's raining on their parade. You'll get your hits in, I promise."
Rogue sighed as she watched the team of four head off to the warehouse fence. "Why ain't ya really sendin' me in?" Rogue asked.
Cyclops sighed. "I know you haven't been out on very many missions since Leila's been born." He said, looking at her. "I don't want anything to happen that'll take you away from her."
Rogue smiled warmly. "Ah appreciate ya concern, but ya know ah can handle myself. Ain' nothin' gonna happen ta me. Ah can take pretty much any kind of hit. Ya know that." She said, crossing her arms just under her bust.
"I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to you." Scott said, watching the team enter the fence. "You're family to Jean and I."
"What about Kitty? She's got Madison and Craig." Rogue asked.
"She can't really be touched." Cyclops said. "I'm not too worried about her."
"But she's a mom, just like ah am, and ya sendin' her in." She said, seeing him sigh. "Ah just want an equal opportunity ta kick some ass."
Cyclops smirked. "Alright." He said, looking at her. "I'll give you first hit, if this thing goes south."
Rogue returned the smirk as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked toward the warehouse. "Just don't get in my way, hun." She said as the minutes crawled by.
They stood there, watching the building, for what seemed like an hour. No one responded on the intercoms. Did that mean it was going smoothly?
Rogue couldn't take waiting any longer. "Is everything goin' alright?" She asked quietly to Cyclops.
Bringing the binoculars to his visor, he shook his head. "I'm assuming so. No word from anyone, that I've heard." He said.
"Ah'm startin' ta worry, Scott. Part of me wants ta bust in there and find out what's going on." She said, seeing him put his hand up.
Their intercoms suddenly crackled to life. "Cyclops, come in!" It was Storm.
"Go ahead, Storm." He said, listening close.
"We have searched the entire facility and found nothing. I believe this is a decoy." Storm said, causing Cyclops to sigh.
"How is that possible? He have footage of them flying to this location." He said, looking back at Rogue.
Looking around, Rogue flew up straight into the air so she could get an areal view. Looking around, she noticed another huge facility that was busy going to work. They had the wrong building.
Returning to the ground, she turned to Cyclops. "We got tha wrong place. It's gotta be tha one that's just Northwest about a quarter of a mile." She said.
Nodding his head, he then smirked at Rogue. "Rogue and I are heading a quarter mile, Northwest. Meet us there and prepare for a fight." He said, seeing Rogue smile in approval.
"When's mommy coming home?" Leila asked as Gambit tucked her into bed.
"Don' know. She be here when y' wake up, a'right?" He said leaning over and kissing her forehead. "Y' go on t' sleep now. Love you."
"Goodnight! I love you!" Leila called to him as he turned on her nightlight and kept her door cracked a bit before returning to his room.
Emptying his pockets, Gambit looked at his phone as he sat it on the nightstand. It was just past nine and he was feeling a little uneasy about the team being gone this long. If they called Rogue in, it was because they needed the extra muscle and the job to be done quickly. It had been three hours. Taking his shirt off and putting it in the hamper, he sat down on the bed and picked up his phone. Shooting her a quick text, he plugged his phone into the charger and sat it down before getting undressed and slipping into the bed. Staying awake for what seemed like hours, he finally drifted off to sleep.
Feeling the bed jostle, Gambit woke up to see Rogue's silhouette sitting on the bed. "Chere?" He said lowly.
She turned to him. "Hey. Sorry. Ah didn't mean ta wake ya, hun." She said.
"Wha' time is it?" He asked, watching her black figure get undressed slowly. She was obviously in pain.
"Quarter past one." She said, slowly getting into bed.
"Y' hurt, mon amour?" He asked, sitting up. "I hear it in yo' voice and see it in de way y' be movin'."
"Ah ain't gonna lie, Remy. Ah got knocked around like a blind boxer in a ring. Got aches ah ain't felt in a long time." She said, slowly lying back on the bed. "Ah just need some rest. Ya think ya can take care of Leila in tha morning? Get her up and dressed for school?"
"O' course." He said, moving closer and lying down beside her. "Y' sure y' gonna be a'right?"
"Ah'll be fine, lover. Ah've already been by Hank's. No broken bones. Just some bruisin'." She said, placing her hand on the side of his face. "Don't gotta worry about me, hun."
"I know." He said, placing his hand on her hip. "Still do."
Letting out a sigh, Rogue moved closer to him before she lightly chuckled. "Saw more action than ah thought ah was gonna see." She said, feeling him drape his arm around her and hug her.
"Y' de one a'ways wantin' t' go out an' kick ass." He said, making her chuckle.
"Don't make me laugh. It hurts." She said, trying to stop chuckling.
"Sorry." He said as he kissed the side of her face. "Y' go t' sleep now, eh? Get rested up."
