Nope, there is definitely never a dull moment.

Happy times are coming! What are they you ask? Stay tuned!

Taking a seat on Jean's sofa in her office, Rogue placed her hand on Gambit's forearm. "Alright. What's up? Why'd ya call us in here?" She asked.

"Well, how should I put this." Jean said to herself as she stood in front of them, placing her hands on her stomach. "Leila's a lot more powerful than we thought."

Gambit's eye brows dipped. "How powerful we talkin'?" He asked.

"I'm talking 'control you mind' powerful." Jean said, seeing Rogue cover her mouth in shock. "I know."

"She's only five." Rogue said. "This ain't fair for her. How's she gonna understand what tha hell's goin' on?"

"I'm going to be working with her more. She needs more advance exercises." Jean said.

"Ah don't like this." Rogue said. "Advanced exercises or not, she can't possibly understand any of this."

"Calm down." Gambit said in a soft voice, placing his hand on her back.

"How can ya be calm about this?" Rogue asked. "Our daughter can read and control minds. That ain't anything to shrug off."

"I ain' never said I wasn' worried 'bout her." Gambit said, still in the soft voice, as he placed his hand on the side of her face. "It be fine. Jean know wha' she doin'. De professor prob'ly help out, eh? Leila be fine."

"I've put a call into Betsy. She's heading back to help with Leila's training." Jean said. "I'm just glad she wasn't on her plane yet."

"Jean?" Rogue asked, getting her attention. "Do ya really think Leila's gonna be able to control her powers at such a young age?"

Jean gave her friend a warm smile. "Yes. I do." She said. "That's why we're doing the exercises. They keep her focused and she's starting to understand how it works, even with our few sessions we've had. She's very smart."

"She get it from me." Gambit smiled, making Rogue chuckle and roll her eyes.

"Anyway, I just wanted to make you both aware of her new powers. I don't believe she's ever used them on anyone before, but that doesn't mean she won't." Jean said.

"How'd she know she had these powers if she's never used them before?" Rogue asked.

"Dat be a good point, chere." Gambit said.

"I'm hoping Betsy can help me get these answers, along with the professor." Jean said. "I didn't mean for this to become a worry fest. I want you two to have a worry free evening. Go out. Do something. Go on a date."

Rogue smiled. "Ah don't know if ah can focus on anything else." She said. "Besides, we've both got stuff going on with us right now."

"I understand." Jean said with a smile as they stood and walked out of her office.

Closing the office door, Rogue hugged herself as they walked down the hall, toward the kitchen. Noticing her deep in thought, Gambit put his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him, causing her to stop.

"Remy." She said, turning to him. "Ah'm scared for her."

"I know." He said, pulling her into a hug. "Everyt'in' be a'right, mon amour."

Standing there for a moment, they suddenly heard little footsteps at the end of the hall. "Mommy! Daddy!" It was Leila.

Turning toward her, they smiled as she ran closer to them. "T'ere's m' précieux!" Gambit said, kneeling down, when she was close and picked her up. "Know what?"

"Huh?" She asked with a smile.

"I love you." He said, kissing her cheek.

"I love you, too." She said as Rogue walked up and cupped her face, kissing her forehead.

"Let's go get some ice cream." Rogue said, causing Leila to rejoice.

"Yay!" She squealed with excitement.

"Y' givin' me permission t' leave? Wha' 'bout Hank?" Gambit asked.

"Hank won't mind." Rogue said as they made their way to the garage and got in the sedan.

Sitting on the bed in Hank's lab, Gambit sighed as he unlocked his iPad and began to type something up. A knock on the door frame cause both Gambit and Beast to look over. "Ah, Sam. Wha' brings y' here, mon ami?" Gambit asked, setting the iPad down beside him.

"Anna told me you weren't feeling well." He said walking in and over to Gambit. "Everything alright?"

Gambit smirked. "I be fine. Jus' some dizzy spells." He said. "Y' all dressed up. Goin' out?"

Sam slightly blushed. "Going on a date." He said.

"Good fo' y'." Gambit said. "Y' finally feel ready."

"Well," Sam said, putting his hands in his pockets. "I'm giving it a try."

"Baby steps." Gambit said, seeing Sam nod in agreement. "Who y' goin' out wit'?"

"Gavin." Sam said, the blush creeping across his cheeks. "I ran into him this morning heading out of my room. We started talking and we found out we have a lot in common. God, he's gorgeous."

Chuckling, Gambit picked his iPad back up. "Well, have fun. Glad y' goin' out and y' finally met him." He said.

"Thanks." Sam said, looking at his watch. "Well, I'm suppose to meet him in the garage at ten. I'll see you later. Let me know if I can get you anything."

"Will do." Gambit said as Sam left the room.

"Gavin Vasquez?" Beast asked from across the room.

"Oui." Gambit said, scrolling through a new article on mutants adopting children.

"Huh." Beast said, adjusting his glasses. "I didn't know Gavin was gay. Interesting. He didn't seem the type."

"Dey ain't all flamboyant." Gambit said.

"I suppose not." Beast said standing up. "Well, I hope they have a wonderful time."

Gambit smirked. "If we was bettin', I'd say one o' 'em end up in de ot'er one's bed tomorrow morning." He said, making Beast chuckle.

"Well, they have both had a rough time. I suppose a little adventure wouldn't hurt." He said, walking around and checking the machines that were hooked up to Gambit's left arm. "Are these too tight?"

Shaking his head, Gambit looked at them as he lifted his arm slightly as Beast examined the numbers. "Non." He said. "Wha' exac'ly y' lookin' fo'?"

"Signs of stress." Beast said, writing down the numbers on a clipboard. "The irregularity in your heart worries me. I'm curious as to how quickly it's happened, since your last biannual exam showed no signs of it."

"Eh, pro'ly dying." Gambit said, nonchalantly.

"Do not joke about that." Beast said.

"We all dyin', homme." Gambit said. "At different rates, but we dyin'."

Beast nodded. "I suppose you are correct, but if I can help save someone you bet your ass I will try with everything in my being." He said, looking at Gambit.

"Merci." Gambit said. "Anna appreciate it."

"I'm sure you appreciate it, as well." Beast said, taking his glasses off and placing them in the pocket of his lap coat.

Gambit nodded. "I'd like t' see Leila grow up." He said. "Graduate, get married, have kids."

"Every parent does." Beast said. "That's why I'm holding you hostage tonight. Now no more talking. I want you to lie down and get some rest."

With the alarm clock going off, Rogue stirred awake and rolled on to her back. Stretching her arm out, she tried to blindly reach for the machine, but had to sit up and reach further to turn it off. She lie back down where she was and closed her eyes again as she heard the bedroom door open.

"Mommy?" Leila asked as she crawled into the bed.

"What is it, love?" She asked, rolling on to her side and smiling at her daughter.

"Can I stay here with you today?" She asked.

Rogue sat up and combed through Leila's hair. "No, honey. Ah'm gonna take ya ta class. Then mommy's got some things ta do with Aunt Jean and Tante Ro."

"Oh." Leila said, bummed.

"But tomorrow, we can spend tha day as a family." Rogue said. "Maybe we can go to tha park or tha zoo."

"Okay!" Leila said excitedly as she jumped off the bed and ran into her room to get dressed.

Sighing, Rogue got out of bed and got dressed before putting her hair up in a bun. She didn't feel like fiddling with it today. Not with her ribs aching. Leila came out of her room dressed and ready to go to class. Taking Rogue's hand, they walked down and had breakfast before she dropped Leila at her classroom. Smiling, Rogue left and head back down to Hank's lab. Walking in, she saw Beast handing Gambit some orange juice.

"Good morning, Anna." Beast said with a smile, making Gambit turn around and look at her.

"Mornin'." She said, walking up and hugging Gambit. "How ya feelin'?"

Gambit shrugged. "Feel like I a'ways feel." He said kissing her. "Don' feel no different."

"I haven't been able to detect the heart irregularity since he was unconscious yesterday." Beast said. "Everything is reading normal now."

"Is he safe to go back to normal activities?" Rogue asked.

"Like sex?" He asked with a smirk, making Rogue lightly nudge his chest.

"Ah meant ya teachin'." She said. "Ah swear, ya think with tha wrong head ninety percent of tha time."

"It's perfectly safe, yes." Beast said, chuckling. "I don't want to see you in here again. You're making this too frequent."

"Y' tellin' me." Gambit said, slipping his hand in Rogue's as they head out and into the hall.

"Ah told Leila we'd spend tha day as a family tomorrow." Rogue said getting his attention.

"Sounds nice, chere." He said as they walked into the kitchen where Gambit poured himself a cup of coffee. "Dis after de meetin' wit' de professor's friend?"

"It'll have ta be." Rogue said. "Ah don't think Leila will sit still durin' that."

"Don' t'ink so eit'er." Gambit said, taking a sip of the bold coffee. "Y' wanna go out fo' breakfast?"

Rogue smiled. "Ah'd like that, actually." She said as they head to the garage, Gambit still sipping on his coffee.

"Ah miss these kinda days." Rogue said as she reached over and took Gambit's hand. "Ya bein' off and us goin' on dates."

"Like I said, gotta make time fo' dis stuff." He said smiling at her as they pulled into the garage of the mansion. "Y' know, chere. We could go up t' our room and spend mo' time toget'er. Jus' sayin'."

Smirking, he leaned over and began to kiss on her neck. "We do have several hours to kill." Rogue said, contemplating the suggestion.

Turing toward him, they shared a passionate kiss that heated up quick. Rogue pulled away and licked her lips as she opened the door.

"Can't do this out here, hun." She said, getting out of the car.

Gambit followed and they head up stairs. Reaching the third floor, they walked down the hall toward their room and were met by Sam coming out of a room that wasn't his.

"Sam?" Rogue asked, seeing his attire strew on his body.

Sam looked at them and blushed. "Hey guys." He said, cheeriness bubbling out of his voice.

Gambit smirked. "Knew y'd two be sleepin' toget'er las' night." He said.

"Wait, that's Gavin's room." Rogue said, looking at Sam.

"Mm hmm." Sam said, in a sing-song tone. "God, he's amazing."

"Who topped?" Gambit asked, receiving a nudge from Rogue.

"That ain't any of ya business." She said, looking at Sam. "Ya don't have ta answer that, hun."

Sam chuckled. "It's cool." He said looking at Gambit. "I'm gonna be floating all day. Last night was incredible."

"Glad ya had a good time, hun. Ya needed it after what ya been through." Rogue said, placing her hand on his and giving it a squeeze.

"Thanks, Anna." Sam said, standing up straight. "Well, I'm gonna go get a shower and freshen up. Take care."

"Bye." Anna said as Gambit took her hand and they continued on down to their room. "Wow. Their first date and they're sleepin' together."

Walking into their room, Gambit shut the door and locked it. "Dey been t'rough a lot o' shit dis year." He said, turning and wrapping his arms around her waist.

"That's true." She said, looking into his eyes before she outlined his jaw and chin with her left index finger before she leaned in and kissed him softly.

"Mm." He moaned under the kiss as he moved her to the bed.

Looking into the mirror, Rogue dried the last of her hair before killing the hair dryer and putting it away. Running her fingers through her hair, she put it up into a ponytail and walked out of the bathroom and into their room seeing Gambit still in bed.

"Ya still in bed?" She asked.

He smiled at her before throwing the covers back and getting out of bed. "Stayin' in dis moment as long as I can." He said, kissing her passionately.

Breaking the kiss, Rogue smiled at his playfulness as he grabbed her waist and pulled her close. "Well, ya can't stay there forever, lover." She said, touching her nose lightly to his. "Duty calls."

"Don' remind me." He said, kissing her neck. "We do dis again t'night, eh?"

Rogue smiled as he kissed her ear. "We'll see." She said, pulling away. "Ah've gotta head down and help Jean. Should've been down there hours ago."

"She won' mind." Gambit said. "She know we need time fo' us."

Letting out a pleasant sigh, Rogue kissed him once more before heading to the door. "Ah'll catch ya later, sugah." She said, winking at him before she head out the door and down the hall.

Once she reached the stairs she felt the soreness in her hips and thighs from their romp, but it was a good sore and it made her smile.

"Sorry ah'm late, hun." Rogue said, walking into Jean's office and seeing her smile at her. "Ah got tied up."

"Literally?" Jean asked, joking around.

"Not this time." Rogue winked as she walked over and opened the filing cabinet at the end of the room. "Ah am sorry ah'm late. Ah shouldn't let pleasure come before work."

Jean shook her head. "Please. Don't apologize." She said, filling out forms for the rest of the new students. "It's important. Besides, he's free until Monday. Enjoy him."

Rogue chuckled. "Ah wish it were that easy." She said, taking out the old files of students from years past and placing them in the banker's box for storage. "It's hard ta have any time for us with Leila always wantin' ta sleep in our bed."

"Is this every night?" Jean asked.

"No, but tha night's we're feelin' frisky, she's headin' into our room." She answered. "She's scared of tha dark and that's understandable, but she's got two night lights that pretty much illuminate her whole room."

Jean smiled. "She just doesn't want to be alone." She said. "Maybe she'll do better once she has a sibling to room with."

Rogue smiled at the statement. "Ah hope ta God we can adopt. It'll be good for her ta have someone ta play with." She said, placing more files in the box.

"So, you're going to adopt a child her age?" Jean asked with a smile.

Stopping Rogue looked at Jean. "Ah think so." She said. "Ah mean, ah've got baby fever so dead-gum bad with ya and Kitty bein' pregnant, but Leila needs someone her age she can get close ta. Ya know?"

"I think it's beautiful that you're thinking about her having a companion she can get into more trouble with." Jean said, making Rogue chuckle.

"Great, now there's gonna be more mischief." Rogue said, filling the box and placing the top on it before taping it up. "Didn't think about that."

"It'll be find." Jean said, placing the stack of papers in the hanging file. "Besides, this might be what she needs to help her with her powers."

Rogue froze. "For tha moment, ah forgot all about her powers." She said, looking at Jean as she got a new box ready. "Do ya think she'll use 'em on her brother or sister?"

Jean shook her head. "It's hard to say, but I don't think there will be a problem." She said. "Don't worry about anything. Since Betsy's back, would you mind if we started on her training tonight?"

Rogue pondered for a moment. "Ah don't know, Jean." She said. "Can she take tha weekend off? She's only five. Ah don't wanna make her feel like she's that much more different from anyone else here, ya know?"

"I understand." Jean smiled. "That's why I asked."

"Ah appreciate ya askin'." Rogue said, placing more old student files in the new box she prepped.

They were quiet for a little while before Jean smirked. "Is Remy still upstairs passed out?" She asked.

Rogue chuckled. "Nah. He's off doin' his own thing, now. At least he better be." She said, the silence continuing once more.

A knock interrupted their work. "Come in." Jean called.

They smiled when Dani walked in with Storm. "Hey, hun. Haven't seen ya in while. Ya doin' alright?" Rogue asked, seeing the girl smile and nod.

"I came to ask you if you're coming along with me to get my mom." Dani said.

"Ah wish ah could, but Remy and ah have a meeting tomorrow in town. Ah'm sorry, sugah."

Dani smiled. "It's okay. I know you two are busy." She said as she smiled up at Storm. "I guess I'm ready to go."

Storm smiled as she placed her hand on Dani's shoulder. "Then let us depart." Storm said as they waved before leaving Jean's office.

Standing, Rogue clapped the dust off of her hands before resting them on her hips. "Well, ya want me ta take these over to tha storage buildin' for ya?" She asked. "Ah don't mind."

Jean smiled. "Only if you want. It isn't mandatory." She said, slowly getting up.

"Ah'll go." Rogue said, stacking the boxes and picking them up, balancing them against her body. "Ah'll be back in a bit."

"Question." Wolverine asked as he walked into the rec room seeing Gambit leaning against the pool table.

"Oui monsieur?" Gambit asked, taking a sip of iced tea as he watched the short, stocky man walk up to him.

"How long does it take ya to shower?" He asked, making Gambit smiled. "Been waitin' for ya for a damn hour and a half and gave up."

"Aww, did y' need me?" Gambit asked, taking another sip.

"Was gonna ask ya if ya wanted to hit up the Danger Room." Wolverine said.

"Désolé. I been busy." He smirked. "Some t'in's be mo' impo'tant den you. Sorry, ami."

Wolverine smirked. "I gotcha." He said, crossing his arms over his chest. "Still wanna go?"

Sighing, Gambit pushed off the pool table. "Why not? I be feelin' good, no? Le's do it." He said as he set his glass in the sink before he followed Wolverine down to the lower levels of the mansion.

"So." Wolverine said, getting his attention. "What's more important than training?"

Gambit smirked. "Gonna meet wit' someone t'morrow 'bout adoptin'." He said, seeing Wolverine nod.

"Nice." He answered as the elevator opened. "What'd y'all want? Boy or girl?"

Gambit shrugged as he extended his bo staff. "Don' matter." He said as they walked into the Danger Room. "At least, I don' care none."

"Well, good luck." He said as he punched in a code for his training program. "Keep sharp, Gumbo. This program's gonna kick your ass."

Gambit chuckled as the entire room went black. "We see 'bout dat." He said as he heard sounds coming from the far side of the room.

Placing the last box in the storage unit, Rogue dusted her hands off before she shut the door and put the locks back on. She hadn't realized how many students had come and gone from the school in just a few years. Checking the locks once more, she hopped in the car and head back to the school. Pulling into the garage, she killed the engine and head inside where she was met by the cool of the air conditioning. Glancing at her phone, she realized Leila would be out for lunch in a few minutes so she hung around and waited until they were dismissed.

"Mommy, look!" Leila said, holding up a picture she made with glue and feathers. "It's a peacock!"

"Ah love it!" Rogue matched her enthusiasm as she picked her up and kissed her cheek. "It's beautiful."

"Where's daddy?" Leila asked, looking around the hall.

"Ya know, ah have no clue." She said, taking her phone out and dialing his number before giving the phone to Leila as she head into the kitchen.

"He's not there." Leila said, still listening as the voice mail came on.

Taking the phone, Rogue listened as the recording told her to leave a message after the beep. "Well, ah don't know, love." She said, pressing end before shooting him a quick text. "He could be with Uncle Logan. Well, until we find him, what do ya wanna eat?"

"Spaghetti-o's!" Leila exclaimed as Rogue sat her on the edge of the island counter.

"Ah don't know if we have any, hun. Ah'll check. Ya stay put." She said, walking over, opening the pantry and taking a look through the soups. "Here we go. Last can."

"Yay!" Leila said enthusiastically as Betsy walked in and smiled at the child.

"You must be Leila." She said as she stopped beside her. "I'm Betsy."

"Hi." Leila said, looking down at the picture she made. "I made a peacock."

"You did an absolute beautiful job." Betsy said with a smile. "It's brilliant."

Leila smiled at Betsy as she watched her mom open the can and place the contents in the pan. "Thank you." She said before looking back at Betsy. "You're pretty."

"Why thank you." She smiled, seeing Leila look over her face. "I will be helping you with your exercises. I hear you have a very special ability."

"Yeah." Leila said, looking back down at her picture.

Rogue shook her head and looked at Betsy. "She has these moments where she goes shy." She said.

"It's quite alright." Betsy said, walking around and standing beside Rogue. "Jean has informed be that we will wait a few days to start, per your request."

Glancing at Leila, Rogue gave Betsy her full attention. "Ah don't wanna be thrownin' all this trainin' on her at once. She's only five. Ah think she needs ta take a break for a day or two. Just be a kid." She said.

Betsy smiled. "I completely agree." She said, looking back at Leila.

"Ah'm sorry ya got pulled away from that kid that stole from ya." Rogue said, stirring the contents of the pan.

Betsy shook her head. "I'll catch up to him. I know where he's headed." She said, smiling at Rogue. "This is far more important. I can't imagine what you are even going through, finding out your daughter is a telepath." She lowered her voice. "This is top priority, given the circumstances."

"Thank you for turnin' around and agreeing ta help. Ya don't know what it means ta me and Remy." Rogue said, seeing Betsy give her a warm smile.

"Well, it's the least I can do." She said as she turned to the kitchen entrance.

Several students walked in and then Gambit and Wolverine followed. "Daddy!" Leila said as she reached out for him.

"Petit!" He smiled, picking her up and walking over to Rogue. "Got yo' text. Désolé. Was trainin' wit' Logan."

"Ah figured as much." Rogue said, turning to him and kissing his cheek. "No worries, lover."

"So," Gambit said, turning toward Psylocke. "I hear y' gonna be helpin' wit' dis one. Let me 'pologize in advance. She a wild one."

Smiling, Betsy leaned against the counter. "Not surprised, seeing as she's your daughter." She teased.

"True story." He said, as he sat her on the counter by the stove.

"Remy, don't put her so close to the stove." Rogue said, motioning for him to move her.

"She know not t' touch de stove." He said, picking her back up. "Right?"

"It'll burn me." She said.

"Dat's right." He said, looking at Wolverine. "Y' gone quiet on us, mon ami. Wha's up?"

He smirked at Gambit. "Just thinkin'. That a crime?" He asked, taking another chug of water.

"Non." Gambit said, placing Leila in a bar stool.

"Uncle Logan?" Leila asked.

"What's up, darlin'?" Wolverine asked, walking over and placing his hand on Leila's head.

"Can I ride your motorcycle again?" She asked.

"Ah beg ya pardon?" Rogue turned around after killing the burner and looked at Gambit. "Again?"

"Chere, it was a short li'l ride 'round out front o' de garage." Gambit said.

"She did a good job. Stayed put. Didn't go more than five miles an hour." Wolverine said, trying to calm the situation.

"Leila ain't suppose ta be ridin' motorcycles, Remy. She's five years old." Rogue was getting upset.

"Anna." Gambit turned to her and took her shoulders, smirking. "Calm down. Ain' gonna happen again. Promise."

Rogue let out a frustrated sigh. "Ah'm takin' ya word." She looked at Wolverine. "And your's."

"Promise I won't let her on my bike until she's old enough." Wolverine said as he looked down at Leila. "Sorry squirt."

"Here. Ya pour that up for her. Ah'll get her a juice box." Rogue said, walking over to the fridge.

Taking a small bowl, Gambit poured the warm contents into it and grabbed a small spoon for his daughter. Blowing on it to cool it down, he then placed it in front of her and smiled when she dove in.

"What do y'all got planned?" Rogue asked, looking at Wolverine and Gambit.

"Just did a little training." Wolverine said folding his arms over his chest. "He's all yours, now."

Rogue smirked and shook her head. "Ah ain't sure that's a good idea, considerin' ya just told me our daughter's been on a motorcycle." She said, brushing the loose strands of hair out of Leila's face.

"I t'ink maybe I stay wit' you, eh?" Gambit joked, looking at Wolverine.

The short, stocky man chuckled. "You're on your own, bub." He said, walking out of the kitchen.

"And just like that, you've been fed to the wolves." Betsy said.

"I be use t' it." He said, walking around and grabbing an apple.

Betsy smiled when Gambit placed his hand on Leila's head and stroked her hair. "I heard you two are adopting." She said, causing the both of them to smile.

"We're hopin' to." Rogue said, placing her hands on her hips. "Gonna meet with someone tomorrow that tha professor knows. He says he can help us out."

"I wish you the best of luck. You two are obviously wonderful parents, so there should be no reason to doubt." Betsy smile, making them smile.

"We appreciate those kind words." Rogue said. "Lord knows we're tryin'."

As Leila finished up her lunch, they conversed about other things until the lunch hour was over. Hand in hand, they walked her back down to her class room and said goodbye before they turned and slowly walked down the hall.

"Well?" Rogue asked. "What now?"

Shrugging, Gambit smiled when he felt her hand slide into his. "Don' know." He said, looking at her. "A'ready done wha' I wanted."

Rogue chuckled as she lead him to the elevator. "How 'bout y' oversee me kickin' some ass?" She said, pressing the button and causing the doors to open.

Cocking an eyebrow, they entered and Rogue scanned her card. "I can do dat." He said as she hit the sub level and the elevator began to descend.

A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for the late chapter (I feel like I say that EVERY chapter...).
Well, if you're reading my other story you'll know I went on a trip to visit my grandmother who has pancreatic cancer. I'm sad to inform you all, she passed away Tuesday night.
