Yes, drunk Rogue is fun! Now things will slow down and life will finally resume... Well, maybe.

Hopefully the whole thing with the boy can be sorted out WITHOUT any more. The next big thing they have to worry about is Leila's use of her powers. That's not going to be pleasant, lol.

I hate crazy Bella Donna. TAS made her that for a lot of people, but really she's not.
I always sleep naked, because I'm so hot natured. I'm not tangled in clothes.
Drunk Rogue is great! We just might see her again ;)
Opening his eyes, Gambit yawned before he saw Rogue was still out. Smirking, he got out of bed and drew the drapes down over the window to make it as dark as possible. He knew she was going to wake up feeling like shit, so he wanted to lessen the blow as much as he could. Opening the suitcase, he grabbed his sweat pants and slipped them on before pulling a white undershirt over his head. Walking over to the bed, he kissed Rogue's shoulder before he pulled the covers up to her chin and left the room.
He heard several voices in the kitchen as he head downstairs. Turning the corner, he saw his dad, brother, sister-in-law, Emil and several other cousins sitting around the table. Mattie smiled at him as she walked over and placed her hand on his left shoulder.
"How dat wife doin'?" She asked.
Gambit chuckled. "Still out. T'ink we's gon need dat special hang ova juice, Tante." He said, seeing her shake her head as she walked back into the kitchen.
"Lordy, Remy." She said. "Why y's let her drank so much?"
He shrugged. "She wanted t'. Warned her, but she don' care. Jus' wanted t' have fun." He said as he saw her mix together several spices in a little water before he turned and head toward the dining area. "Bonjour."
"Anna a'righ'?" Emil asked.
They all chuckled. "She have a good time las' nigh'." He said, running his fingers through his hair.
"Y'all sure disappeared afta de rain come." Mercy said.
Gambit smirked. "She was ready t' call it a night." He said.
"Mm hmm." Emil said. "Bet she wanted dat Cajun sausage."
"Emil!" Mercy said across the table.
They all laughed. "Vrai." Gambit said as he walked back to the kitchen and poured himself some coffee. "Dat ready?"
"Mm hmm." Mattie said as she poured it into a shot glass. "Y's take a wata up t'ere wit' chu. Y' know how much it don' taste good."
He smirked remembering all the times he'd come home drunk. "Oui." He said, grabbing a bottled water from the fridge before kissing Mattie's cheek. "Merci, chère."
Taking the shot glass in his left hand, his coffee in his right and the bottle water in the crook of his left, he carefully made his way up the stairs and to his room. Carefully opening the door, he walked over to her side of the bed and set the shot glass down along with the bottled water. Walking over to the window, he glanced out as he took a sip. Everything was still wet from the downpour they had last night, but the colors were so vibrant this morning. Glancing at the clock, he saw he had only slept for six hours but he felt well rested. He couldn't help but look at Rogue.
Smiling, he walked over and gently sat down beside her, placing his left hand on her head. "Y's a mess, Anna." He said as he took a sip of coffee before he leaned his head back against the wall.
He wasn't sure how much time had passed, but he heard her softly moan. Opening his eyes, he saw her roll on to her back and immediately cover her face.
"Ugh..." She moaned again before she looked at him. "Dammit."
Lightly chuckling, he got up and walked around to were the shot glass was. "Drink dis. It'll help wit' de hangova." He said, seeing her squint as she propped herself on her elbow.
Taking the shot glass, she sniffed it and shook her head. "What tha hell is this?" She asked, still squinting up at him.
"Concoction o' Mattie's." He said. "Drink it up. Y' feel betta."
Groaning, she threw it back and swallowed before making a horrible face and shivering. "What tha hell did ah just drink?" She asked, placing her hand on her forehead.
He smiled as he leaned over and kissed the top of her head. "Give it a bit. Y' start t' feel dat fog clear yo' head." He said as she sat down on the edge of the bed and rest his hand on her thigh.
Laying back, Rogue pulled the covers over her head and groaned again. "Why didn' ya stop me after one beer last night?" She asked.
"Well," He started. "Y's de one wan'in' t' have fun. Plus I say dis b'fo', y' can kick m' ass."
She laughed and suddenly whimpered. "Dammit." She said grabbing her head. "Ow...my head!"
"Here." He said, handing her the water bottle.
Taking it, she downed half before she sat it back on the side table and rubbed her eyes. "Ah don't think ah can fly back today." She said. "Sorry, hun."
"Can wait anot'a day." He said, patting her thigh. "Maybe if y's feel betta we can head into de city."
Squinting at him she smiled. "Hopefully. Ah'd love ta see it." She said as she covered her face.
"I leave y' 'lone." He said, placing her phone by the bottled water. "Tex' me if y' need anyt'in'."
Heading back downstairs with is coffee in hand, Gambit walked back into the dining area and saw everyone still there. Walking over, he took a seat by Henri and listened to the conversations they were having. They were talking about last night and the crazy drunk things a few of them did, causing everyone to laugh.
"Las' nigh' was good times." Jean-Luc said.
"Mm hmm." Henri agreed.
"Even if we's did get rained out." Another said.
"Yo' wife sure love t' dance." Emil said.
Gambit smiled and nodded. "Oui." He said taking a sip of coffee.
"Wha' time y's leavin'?" Mercy asked.
He shook his head. "Gon hafta stay anot'a day." He said, looking at his sister-in-law. "She be too shit-faced t' fly."
They all lightly chuckled. "We all been t'ere." Jean-Luc said before he looked at Gambit and smiled. "Y' use t' get drunk a lot."
"Oui." Henri said. "Tante a'ways havin' t' make dat brew o' her's to clear yo' head. T'ought fo' sho' y's a alcoholic."
Gambit laughed. "Jus' like t' party, dat's all." He said, looking at the steam rolling off of the top of his coffee mug.
"Y's quiet dis mornin'." Mercy said, smiling at Gambit. "Everyt'in a'right?"
He looked at her a smiled with a nod. "Jus' tired o' travelin'." He said. "I be missin' Leila."
"Can' y' call her up?" Emil asked.
Gambit shook his head. "Non. She in class." He said. "Kindagar'en."
"Wait, she how old?" Emil asked.
"Cinq." Henri said. "Don' chu's pay attention t' anyt'in'?"
"Comment est-elle?" Mercy asked.
He gave his sister-in-law a warm smile. "Très bien." He said. "She back t' her crazy self."
"Dey tol' m' 'bout dat car accident." Jean-Luc said. "Je suis désolé y' had t' go t'rough dat, son."
He glanced at his dad. "Jus' glad we have Leila's teacher. She de one who fixed all de broken bones, cuts and bruises wit' her powers." He said
"Shiiiit, dat be a useful power, no?" Emil said.
Chuckling, Gambit took a sip of the black coffee. "Well if Anna feel up t' it later, she wanna check out de city." He said. "Be a shame t' come all dis way an' not visit, no?"
"Oui." Jean-Luc said. "Ain' changed since y' las' been here."
"Dat be su'prisin'. Been a long time since I been here." Gambit said. "Miss dis place."
"Why don' chu move back?" One of his other cousins asked.
Letting out a sigh, Gambit looked at his cousin before he looked at his coffee. "Talkin' wit' Bella Donna yeste'day, t'ink maybe dat be a option." He said, seeing his father smile. "She say t'ere a truce b'tween de guilds."
"Oui." Jean-Luc said. "Be safe t' raise dat chil' here now."
He smiled at Jean-Luc. "Maybe." He said. "Sure wasn' welcome yeste'day." He touched his lip where he was hit.
Henri chuckled. "Dat yo' own damn fault. Waltzin' in t'ere like dey's s'ppose t' know who de hell y's is." He said. "Still a cocky bastard."
Giving that cocky grin, Gambit made them all chuckle. "I a'ways be a cocky bastard."
"Ain't that tha truth." They looked to see Rogue walking into the dining room. "Mornin' y'all."
Gambit stood and smiled at her as he put his hand out for her to take. "How y' feeling, mon amour?" He asked.
"Better." She said, taking his hand and taking a seat in the chair he got up from. "That stuff ya gave me really worked. Took my headache away."
"Dat be Mattie's own brew." Henri said with a smile. "Ain' none o' us know wha's in it."
"Well, she needs ta market that, because damn." She said, making them chuckle.
Placing his hand on her left shoulder, Gambit lightly massaged it. "Y' have a good time las' nigh'?" Mercy asked her.
"Ah did." She said, smiling at her. "Had a great time." She looked at Jean-Luc. "Thank you."
He smiled and nodded. "Gotta go stock up on de beer. Y's drank us dry." He said.
They all laughed. "Yeah, well, ah hadn't had a beer in years and that just tasted so damn good last night." She said.
"Y' up fo' seeing N'Orle'ns, chérie?" Emil asked with a smile.
Rogue smiled at him before she shrugged. "Sure." She said, placing her hand on Gambit's that rest on her shoulder. "Ah'd love ta see where this guy got in trouble in his younger years."
"Dat be all ova de place." Henri said.
They shared a laugh before Rogue looked up at Gambit. "How's that lip?" She asked.
"Meh." He shrugged, taking a sip of coffee. "I live."
"So, Anna." Emil said, getting her attention. "How dat Cajun sausage las' nigh'?"
Rogue dipped her brows as she thought about last night. "Ah'm a little foggy, but ah don't remember havin' sausage last night. Unless it was in that gumbo." She said, seeing Emil start to chuckle.
"Y's had a sausage all right." Emil said, winking at her before he jut his chin up to Gambit.
Looking behind her, she saw Gambit lightly shaking his head with a smirk.
Rogue looked back at Emil and gave a smile. "Wouldn't ya like ta know about last night." She said, teasingly.
"Emil jus' a ass." Henri said, smirking at Rogue. "He like t' hear 'bout sex, 'cause he can' get no femme t' even talk t' him."
"Fuck." Emil laughed. "Y's harsh."
"It be true." Mercy said. "But at leas' we love ya."
"So y'all leavin' t'marra?" One of the cousins on the end asked.
"I t'ink we can stay one mo' day." He said, combing through Rogue's curly hair. "Wha' chu t'ink, Anna?"
She shrugged. "Ah don't mind. We just need ta let everyone know. They're expecting us today." She said.
"I call 'em in a bit. How's 'bout y' go an' get cleaned up. We head int' de city soon, eh?" Gambit said, winking down at her.
"Sounds good." She said as she stood up. "Ah'll see y'all in a bit."
Jean sighed as she watched Leila draw on the paper she had provided for her. She had been in her office since nine that morning. Rikki had dropped her off and, behind closed doors, expressed that she never return to class until something has happened to control her powers. Leila knew how to control them and how to use them. It was just a matter of teaching her how NOT to use them.
The buzzing of her phone broke her thoughts so she reached for it. Seeing it was Gambit, she let out a sigh of relief before she answered it.
"Hi." She said as she stood up and walked toward the door of her office.
"Bonjour!" He said on the other end. "How everyt'in' goin'?"
Heading into the hallway, Jean quietly shut the door behind her and looked in both directions to make sure no one was in sight. "I wish I could tell you it's been great." She said.
"Why?" He asked, his happy tone fading. "Wha's wrong?"
Jean let out a sigh before she leaned back against the door. "Leila's been using her powers to get out of class." She said, hearing silence on the other end. "She's been taking Rikki over and giving herself permission to leave. She almost took Logan over."
He stayed silent.
"Rikki came to my office this morning expressing her worry about Leila." She said. "She doesn't want Leila in her classroom at all. Period. She's already taken over a student and now the teacher. We can't let this keep happening. When are you two flying in today?"
"Well... we ain'." Gambit said. "Somet'in' happen and we stayin' anot'a nigh'."
Jean let out a frustrated sigh. "Remy, I need you two here. Leila needs you two here." She said. "I have so much to discuss with you regarding her future."
"Make sure we be on de firs' flight out." He said. "Jeanie?"
"Mm hm?" She answered.
"T'ank you." He said. "For watchin' ova Leila. I know she be a handful, but y' a big impact on her."
Jean smiled. "I love her like a daughter. I hope you know that." She said.
"Oui. I do." He said, a long pause casing it to become awkward. "Hey, I call y' when we leavin', a'righ'?"
"First flight out?" Jean asked.
"Firs' flight out." He repeated. "Promise."
"Alright." She said as she stood up straight. "I'll talk to you later, then."
"Take care, chère." He said before his phone clicked off.
Letting out another sigh, Jean took in a deep breath and composed herself before she walked back into her office and smiled at Leila when she looked at her. "Sorry about that. Had a phone call." She said as she walked over and sat down beside Leila. "What are you drawing?"
"My family." Leila said as she pointed to each of them. "This is me. This is my papa and this is mommy."
"I love it." Jean said. "It looks just like you all." Leila smiled widely as she went back to coloring the sky. "Leila?"
"Mm hm?" She answered, still coloring.
"Do you like to use your abilities?" Jean asked, keeping the smile on her face.
Leila nodded, but kept coloring. "Mm hm." She said.
"Why?" Jean asked, keeping the conversation innocent.
"Because I can make anyone do what I wanna do." Leila said, looking up at Jean.
"Do you think that's fair?" Jean asked. "What if they don't want to do what you want to do? Should you force them?"
Leila stopped coloring and looked at Jean.
"Why did you use your abilities to leave class yesterday?" Jean asked, making sure to keep her tone friendly.
"Because the other kids are mean to me. They call me names in their minds." Leila said, her face growing sad.
Jean pulled her close. "Listen honey," She started as she stroked her auburn hair. "I know exactly what you're going through. People called me names in their minds and I could hear all of it. It was tough but I made it through, because it was important. Your mom and dad have been called names too, but they didn't let that get to them."
"Then why do I have this ability?" Leila asked as she pulled away and looked up at Jean.
Jean gave her a warm smile. "That's why we have our sessions in the afternoon." She said, patting her leg. "So you can figure that out."
Leila nodded as she looked back down at her picture she had been working on.
"Here, let's draw all of your aunts and uncles." Jean said as she walked over and grabbed another blank paper from the printer.
"Oh my Lord!" Rogue said as she chewed the bite of the beignet she just took. "Why tha hell haven't ya made these for me?"
Gambit laughed as he took a bite, himself. "T'ought I did but if not, I defin'ly will." He said as he took a sip of the chicory coffee. "Mm!"
"Taste like y' 'member?" Henri asked.
"Encore mieux." Gambit said, closing his eyes as he took another bite.
"Y's makin' a mess like a chil'." Mercy said, smiling at the powdered sugar all over his lips and chin.
"De only way t' eat 'em." Gambit said as he brushed his face before taking another sip of coffee. "Y' wan try dis?"
Rogue looked at the dark cup of coffee and raised an eyebrow. "It smells like dirt." She said. "Ah think ah'll stick ta my café au lait."
"Yo' French gettin' better." Gambit said as he wrapped his right arm around her shoulders. "Sounded good."
"Well, ah'd hope it is by now." She said, taking a sip of her drink. "Dammit, ah'm gonna be three hundred pounds when we get back."
"Oh please." Mercy said.
"I wouldn' care." Gambit said, as he leaned in and kissed her cheek.
"Aww." Rogue said with a smile as she leaned in and kissed him.
"A'right, we's in public." Emil joked as a phone began to ring.
Reaching down, Rogue took her phone from her pocket. "Sorry, that's me." She said as she answered it. "Hello?"
They listened to the conversation as it continued on.
"Oh, hello!" She said enthusiastically. "Yes! That's wonderful!" There was a pause. "Sure, we can be ready tomorrow evening."
Gambit raised his right eyebrow as he looked over her smiling face.
"Perfect! Thank ya so much for callin'!" Rogue said as she looked at Gambit. "You too. Bye!"
"So?" He asked as she sat her phone down.
"That was the adoption agency." Rogue said. "They wanna interview us tomorrow at three."
"Really?" Gambit asked.
"Yes." She said as she leaned over and kissed him. "This is perfect."
"Dat was quick." He said, watching Rogue take a sip of her drink.
"Ah guess dropping Lawrence Henry's name was a good thing." Rogue said.
"How long y'all been waitin'?" Mercy asked.
"Like 2 weeks?" Rogue asked, looking at Gambit. "Ah just hope we can get this goin' and over with."
"It will." Mercy said. "Be ova wit b'fore y' know it."
"Ah wonder if this means they've gotta child set up for us already." Rogue said, looking back and forth at Gambit's eyes.
"Dey could." He answered. "But if we's meetin' dem t'morra, we ain' got t'ose contacts fo' m' eyes."
"Listen, they should be meetin' with tha real us." Rogue said, patting his thigh.
"Dat's right." Henri said. "T'ought y' was ova bein' ashamed o' yo' eyes, Remy."
Gambit shook his head. "Ain' ashamed o' dem." He said, looking at his brother. "Was advice."
"Any who, we need ta get back ASAP tomorrow." Rogue redirected the conversation. "Ah don't wanna be late or even miss tha meeting."
Gently smiling, Gambit took her hand and kissed the back of it. "We make it back wit' plenty o' time."
"Wish y'all could stay longer." Emil said. "I've missed y' Remy."
"We'll be back ta visit, hun." Rogue said. "This was just a fluke visit. We weren't plannin' on it."
"Now we gotta look int' t'ose hommes." Gambit said, making eye contact with Rogue.
"Why do ah feel like this mission is gonna last a while?" Rogue asked, looking down at their hands that were still together.
"I say we pass it off t' Betsy. We done mo' dan enough fo' her." He said. "She can hire someone else."
Slightly smiling, she nodded her head before she placed her hand on his thigh. "Ah agree." She said. "Ah'm ready ta head home. Ah'm worn out."
Emil chuckled. "Y's worn out 'cause o' de sex." He joked.
They couldn't help but laugh as they continued to finish their coffee and beignets. "That played a small part." Rogue winked at Emil as she took another bite.
Leila looked up to see Storm enter into the kitchen where Jean was cutting up her PB&J sandwich. "Tante Ro!" She said with a smile, causing the woman to smile back.
"Hello, child." She said, stroking Leila's auburn hair. "How was your training with Aunt Jean?"
"Okay." Leila said as she watched Jean plate up her sandwich.
"It was more than just 'okay'." Jean said, winking at Leila. "She's learning a lot at a very fast pace. I'm proud of her."
"Wonderful." Storm said as she grabbed an apple from the fruit basket. "Your parents will be very proud as well."
Leila's smile faded slightly. "I miss them." She said, looking down at the counter top.
"Oh, honey." Jean said, placing the knife on the counter. "They're coming back tomorrow morning. When you wake up, they'll be here. I promise."
The smile returned on Leila's face. "Really?" She asked.
"Yep." She said. "I talked to your dad earlier and that's what he said."
"I am sure they are ready to come home. They have been gone for over a week." Storm said as she took a bite of apple.
"And I know for a fact that they're missing you so much." Jean said, making Leila smile wider. "How about we kill some time? Let's go get some ice cream after lunch."
"Yeah!" She exclaimed as Jean placed her sandwich in front of her. "Will you come too?"
Storm smiled at the little girl that looked up at her. "I cannot." She said, seeing Leila's smile start to fade. "I have classes to teach. Perhaps another time when school is out for the day."
Leila nodded as she picked her sandwich up and took a small bite before placing it back down on the paper plate.
"Leila!" Bobby came into the kitchen quickly. "Hurry and eat! I have a surprise for you!"
With her eyes going wide, Leila jumped off the chair. "Show me!"
"Leila, honey, finish your sandwich before you see his surprise." Jean said as she glared at Bobby, 'Couldn't you have waited until after lunch?' She asked him telepathically.
Bobby shrugged. "Sorry." He said as he picked Leila up. "Here, you finish your sandwich. It'll still be there."
Leila looked into Bobby's eyes and saw what the surprise was. "You made me a slide!" She said.
"Whoa!" Bobby said, placing his hands on her shoulders to keep her in the chair. "Eat your lunch, sheesh! It'll be there."
Picking up the sandwich, Leila ate bigger bites. 'She doesn't need to be sliding around on ice slides.' Jean spoke to him.
'Calm down.' Bobby gave her a look of annoyance. 'It's nothing serious. Just a few baby turns. You can come supervise if you want.'
'Of course I will. I'm responsible for her while Remy and Anna are out on their mission.' Jean spoke to him mentally.
'Ha, mission.' Bobby smirked. 'You know full well they're doing nothing but having sex.'
Jean glared at him. 'Grow up, Robert.' She said, ending it at that as Leila finished her sandwich.
"Done!" She said with a mouthful.
Bobby chuckled. "Come on! It's on the front lawn!" He said as they all walked out to the front and saw the large, lengthy ice slide.
Leila hugged Bobby's legs. "Thank you!" She squealed.
"Anything for you." He said as he placed his hand on her back. "Come on, let's go!"
Storm smiled as she walked up and stood beside Jean. "Bobby has a special bond with her." She said.
"I guess you could say that." Jean said as they watched him help Leila up on the starting point of the slide. "He's just another child."
Storm let out a few chuckles. "It keeps him out of trouble." She said as they watched Leila slide quickly down the slide, turning wildly left and right.
"You were saying?" Jean asked.
"When are we leavin' tomorrow?" Rogue asked, running her fingers through her hair as she sat down on the bed beside Gambit.
"Well," He started as he scrolled through the departing flights for tomorrow. "Earlies' flight, leaves at eleven t'irty. Dat puts us at gettin' home after t'ree."
"But we have that meeting at three." Rogue said, looking down at his phone. "Well, when's tha last flight out?"
Raising his eyebrow, he glanced at her. "Y' sure y' wanna be leavin' t'night? After yo' hangova?" He asked.
"Ah'm fine. Besides, ah can sleep on tha way." She said, watching as he typed in today's date and looked at the flights.
"Ten." He said, glancing at the time at the top right corner of his phone before looking at her. "Get us t'ere 'round two."
"Book it." She said.
"A'right." He said as he booked two one-way flights. "Only got two hours b'fore we need t' get t' de airport."
"Then we'd better pack and let ya family know." She said as she picked the suitcase up and opened it.
Standing, he ran his fingers through his hair and watched as she started to pack. "I wanna go, but I don'." He said, seeing her eyes connect with his.
Rogue paused her folding of their clothes and gave him a smile. "We'll be back, hun." She said, giving him a wink.
"I know." He said, watching her go back to folding their clothes. "Can' wait t' bring Leila."
A big smile formed on his face and Rogue couldn't help herself from smiling at how happy he was. "Ah think she'll like it here." She said.
"Oui." He said, walking around the bed and over to his old dresser to help with the clothes. "Need t' come back fo' Mardi Gras."
Rogue gave him a look. "Yeah, well, we'll talk that over before we come to a consensus."
He gave her a playful grin and a wink. "De parade is a sight t' see, mon amour. She love dat!"
"Ah was thinkin' Christmas." She said, seeing him slightly tilt his head to the side. "I'd love ta spend Christmas down here. It'll be a lot damn warmer, that's for sure."
Placing the last of their clothes on the bed, he wrapped his right arm around her shoulders. "Den le's plan on Chris'mas." He said, giving her a quick peck on her lips.
After they finished gathering their belongings, they head downstairs and found Henri and Mercy on the front porch. Henri stood up when they walked out the front door and took Gambit's hand when he extended it.
"We's headin' out in 'bout two hours." Gambit said, pulling Henri in for a hug. "T'inkin' we's gon' come back at Chris'mas."
"Let us know fo' sho'." Henri said, slapping Gambit's chest. "Y' know we's gon' spoil dat li'l one."
He smirked. "Oui." He said as he watched Mercy stand. "Au revoir chérie."
She smiled as she gave him a big hug. "Chris'mas. Don' chu fo'get it." She said as she turned to Rogue. "Good t' see y', chère."
"Always a pleasure, hun." She said, giving Mercy a hug and then stepping forward and hugging Henri. "We'll see ya around."
"Où est Jean-Luc?" Gambit asked.
"He be 'round here somewhere." Henri said. "He miss out on y'all leavin', dat be him own probl'm."
"Y'all leavin'?" They turned to see Jean-Luc in the front doorway.
"Oui." Gambit said, turning to his father. "Gots t' head back. Duty calls."
Jean-Luc nodded before he walked up and hugged Gambit. "Y' come visit us wit' de fam'ly nex' time, d'accord?"
"We will." He said as he pulled away. "T'anks fo' ev'rythin' while we was here. 'Ppreciate it."
"Je vous en prie." He said, giving him a clap on the shoulder before he smiled at Rogue. "Y' bes' keep 'im in line."
"It's a full-time job, sugah." She said as he gave him a hug and kissed his cheek. "We'll see y'all at Christmas."
Jean-Luc pulled away and smiled. "T'en we's gon' hava Cajun Christmas."
Rogue suddenly felt Gambit whispering into her ear. "T'ere ain' no diff'rance." She chuckled as they all head back inside and said more of their goodbyes before they gathered their things head head toward the airport.
