Hearing the bedroom door shut, Rogue stirred for a moment only to roll over and cuddle with Gambit. She was sure it was Leila going to bother Bobby and that was fine by her. After last night, she wanted to sleep in and just be lazy. Feeling his arms wrap around her, she smiled when she felt his lips gently against her forehead. Looking up, she saw his sleepy eyes looking at her with a smile on his face.

"Hey." She said, giving him a kiss.

"Mm." He said, pulling her down on him and wrapping his arms around her. "Wan' y' again."

"Well, ya got me last night." Rogue said, feeling his hands run down her back. "Ah wanna sleep in."

"Y' no fun." He said, letting her roll off of him and cuddle close as he wrapped his arm around her. "When y' wanna go?"

Rogue let out a sigh. "Let me sleep a bit first." She said, closing her eyes. "It's Saturday and ah wanna take advantage of it."

He lightly laughed as he kissed the side of her head before he closed his eyes. Being lazy was actually not a bad idea and he was glad he mentioned it yesterday. Suddenly being woken up, Gambit opened his eyes to see Rogue up and dressed. She was leaning over him and smiling as she stroked his forehead.

"And ah thought ah was tired." She said, getting off the bed and grabbing her phone.

Sitting up, he stretched his arms over his head before he leaned back against the headboard. Glancing at the clock, he saw it was well past noon.

"Why y' let me sleep in so late?" He asked, throwing the covers off before getting out of bed and walking over to the dresser.

"Ah got up not too long ago, myself." Rogue said. "Ah told ya ah was tired."

"Where we gonna start lookin' fo' houses?" Gambit asked as he pulled socks, underwear, a shirt and jeans out of their designated drawers before tossing them on the bed.

"Like ta stay as close as we can." Rogue said, running her fingers through her curly hair. "Last thing ah want is to wake up super early, get the kids ready and drive in the car for forty-five minutes to an hour."

"Hell, we ain' gon live dat far." Gambit said. "I don't even wanna deal wit' dat shit."

Rogue softly laughed as she watched him get dressed. "Not gonna lie, the thought of leavin' the only place ah consider home is a little sad." She said, seeing Gambit step into his jeans before pulling the shirt over his head.

"Sad or scary?" He asked, sitting down to put his shoes on.

"Honestly?" She asked, sitting down beside him. "Both. And ah know that's very unlike me."

"Makes sense." He said, wrapping his arm around her. "But y' ain' gon be alone. Dis fo' us."

"Ah know." Rogue said standing up and taking his hand. "Ah'm just gonna miss our friends, is all. And we won't be available for urgent missions."

"Mm." Gambit pouted. "Dat sucks. Didn' t'ink 'bout dat."

"Of course they ain't gonna let me on any missions anyway." Rogue said, placing her hands on her lower stomach. "Not like this."

Smiling, Gambit moved in and pulled her against him. "Dat's jus' fine." He said, kissing her forehead. "Dis more impor'nt anyway."

"Alright, enough of this. Ah'm starving." Rogue said as she grabbed her purse and pulled her husband out of their room.

After grabbing a quick bite from the kitchen, and making sure Leila was indeed with Bobby, they head out to a subdivision not far from the mansion where new houses were being built. Pulling into the gates, they stopped at the open house and saw that several cars were there as well. Killing the engine, Gambit got out and walked around, opening the door for Rogue and taking her hand to help her out.

"Might be here a while." He said softly to her and they walked hand in to the front door. "Y' up fo' dat?"

"Sure." Rogue said, giving him a wink. "Feel pretty good."

Walking inside, Gambit kept his shades on as a woman greeted them. "Hello. Please have a look around." She said handing them a paper. "My name is Cammy. If you have any questions feel free to ask. This house is one of the many models we have and it starts at one million, seven hundred."

"Thanks." Rogue said, turning around making Gambit follow. "One million for this little thing?"

Gambit peered at her from over his shades. "Le's take a look around." He said as they walked through the entryway and into the kitchen. "Kinda small."

"Mm hmm." Rogue agreed as they looked at the brand new appliances. "For three kids, this ain't worth that kind of money."

"Le's at least check out de bedrooms." He said, placing his hand on the small of her back as they walk across the entryway and to the first bedroom. "Mm."

"Not feelin' it either." She said as they looked at the bathroom and then the second bedroom before heading into the master.

"What do you think?" Cammy was behind them.

Turning around, Rogue cleared her throat. "Honestly?" She asked, glancing up at Gambit. "It's too small and overpriced."

"Well, this is just one model." Cammy quickly said. "We have others. Two story houses, too. Plus, the location-"

"Is out in de middle of no where." Gambit said. "T'anks for lettin' us take a look."

"Please give me a call any time!" Cammy said as they left the house and got back in the car.

"Well, that was just sad." Rogue said. "That first house was a bummer."

"Sucks. Dat's a great location." Gambit said as he started up the engine.

"Mm." Rogue agreed as they drove off and head toward the next area where new developments were happening.

After driving fifteen minutes, they parked in front of a partially finished house and got out. Walking inside, Rogue looked back at Gambit and raised her eyebrows.

"This is a huge entryway." She said, looking around. "Maybe too big."

"Chere, we comin' from a mansion. Dis small compared to dat." He said, taking his shades off and holding them in his hand. "Ain' a bad size, I t'ink."

Letting out a sigh, Rogue roamed around to the kitchen. "Wow." She said, seeing the large open area that looked out on to the dining room and straight shot to the backyard.

"Y' like it?" He asked, placing his hand on the small of her back.

"Ah do." She said. "Ah love how open it is. Those large windows are perfect. Could watch the kids play from in here."

Gambit smirked. "Le's be real, Anna. Y' ain' gon be in de kitchen." He made her laugh.

"Hey, ah can at least be warming up a bottle, asshole." She jabbed as they head into the master bedroom that was just off the living room. "Oh wow."

"Dis twice de size of our room." Gambit said, walking over and looking out the large windows that were from the ceiling to the floor. "View ain' bad."

"Mm hmm." She agreed. "But we're already thirty minutes from school. Don't wanna be any further than this."

Walking to check out the master bath, they looked at the other three bedrooms before they head out and back to the car. Getting inside, Gambit typed the phone number off of the sign into his phone and pressed send.

Rogue listened as he began to talk to someone on the other end. "We jus' looked t'rough a house in de development off of Bradwick Avenue. Mm hmm. Jus' got done walkin' t'rough it. Wha' kinda price we talkin'?" Gambit went quiet as he listened. "An' de time frame of it bein' completed?"

Looking back at the house, she was impressed by it. Sure it still needed some walls and carpet or wood flooring, but it was an impressive house. Still, it didn't grab her.

"Ah, okay." Gambit said, causing Rogue to look at him. "Well, t'anks fo' yo' time. Y' too."

"What?" Rogue asked.

"De builders on strike." He said, placing his phone in his pocket. "Don' know when it'll be done."

"Oh, that's nice." Rogue sarcastically said as they pulled out and on to the main street. "If we can't find anything, ya think Charles will let us build on the property? Like, away from everyone?"

"He might." Gambit said. "Dat's a lot of land not to be usin', no?"

"Exactly." Rogue said. "We don't have to be too close to everyone."

"Dat only if he don' mind." Gambit said. "Le's not make assumptions."

They drove quietly for a while before he reached over and placed his hand on her thigh. She smiled at him before crossing her arms and letting out a sigh.

"Y' know I can build y' de house of yo' dreams, right?" He asked with a smile. "Jus' gotta say de word."

Rogue let out a light chuckle as she took his hand and intertwined their fingers. "Ah know, lover." She said. "It's lookin' like ya may have to. These houses are all bleh."

Gambit smirked as he stopped at a red light. "Guessin' dis like weddin' dress shoppin'? Y' know de one when y' see it?" He asked.

"Exactly." She said, looking at the side of his face as he started to go with the traffic when the light turned green, but she kept looking at his profile.

He noticed her looking out of the corner of his eye, so he glanced at her and smiled. "Wha'?" He asked, glancing at her again.

She smiled lovingly at him. "Nothin'." She said, shaking her head slightly.

"Not'in', huh?" He asked, winking at her before he watched the road again.

They were quiet, his hand still on her thigh as they made their way to another location where houses were popping up. Not finding one that grabbed them, they drove to another location just past the school about twenty minutes. Pulling into the neighborhood, they saw the well-kept yards and houses as they drove back to where the new houses were being built and parked in front of a finished one that looked like it was being shown to someone else.

"Should we wait until they come out?" Rogue asked.

"Nah." Gambit said, killing the engine and getting out of the car.

Opening her door, Rogue watched as Gambit walked around and met her, taking her hand and closing the door. They walked up to the front door and opened it, being greeted by a large entryway with light wooden floors. To their right was a large room that looked to be a living area or family room and just off of that was the large open kitchen.

"Ooh." Rogue quietly said as she led him towards that area. "This is gorgeous."

Walking into the kitchen, they were greeted by large windows that let natural light in. The brand new appliances were shiny and the dark marble counter tops glistened in the daylight.

"What do ya think?" Rogue asked, looking back at Gambit as she opened the large pantry door.

"Defin'ly an option." He said, running his hands over the marble island top before meeting her at the pantry. "Damn."

"It's like another room." Rogue said, shutting the door and turning around to look at the large backyard that was fenced in. "Like the size of the yard."

"Mm hmm." He answered as they walked over to the window and looked out.

They heard footsteps coming down the hall and looked to see a man leading another man. "Oh, hello." The man said. "I'm sorry, but this house is being shown privately at the moment."

"Shoulda locked de door." Gambit said as he placed his hand on the small of Rogue's back. "We's jus' lookin' around. Don' mind us."

"Just gettin' ideas for our first home." Rogue said as she walked toward the hallway the two men had just been.

"I can show you both the house along with this gentleman, if you like." The man said, causing them to turn around.

"We look on our own." Gambit said as he kept following Rogue into the first large bedroom.

"This is a big room." She said, walking over to the closet and opening it. "This is basically another room, too."

"Room t' grow." Gambit said as he walked to the room that was right beside it. "Dis one big, too. 'Bout de same."

After seeing four total rooms, they finally came across the master bedroom. "Damn." Rogue muttered under her breath as they walked in to a room that was twice the size of the other bedrooms.

"Big space." Gambit quietly said as they both walked to the bathroom. "Hell."

The elaborate fixtures and marble tile lined the floor and walk-in shower wall. There was a jacuzzi tub that could easily fit four grown adults as well as double sinks.

"This has to be like fifteen feet." Rogue said as she ran her hand over the cold marble counter top.

"Could fuck on dat t'ing." He said, causing Rogue to look back at him with a stern look. "Wha'? Don' act like y' wasn' t'inkin' it."

"Remy." Rogue said, turning and walking up to him before she placed her hands on his chest. "Ah really like this house. Like, really like it."

He gave her a warm smile. "Enough t' put a offer in?" He asked, placing his hands on her waist.

"Yes." She said, looking around the bathroom. "It's perfect for what we need. Five total bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living area, dinning room and the back yard is huge. Ah want this house."

Giving a playful smirk, he wrapped his right arm around her and led her out of the master bedroom and into the hallway. "Den I make sure y' get it, chere." He said as they head into the entryway and saw the man that was giving the tour standing there by himself.

"What do you think?" The Realtor asked. "Enough to counter offer what that gentleman offered?"

"What did he offer?" Rogue asked.

"This house is on the market for two two." He said. "That gentleman offered two four. I can guarantee they'll take it."

Gambit smirked. "Can dat gentleman give you a check right now?" He asked.

"I-No." The Realtor said. "No, he can't. He's taking out a loan."

"Listen, m' wife really loves dis house." Gambit said as he pulled his checkbook out of his back pocket and took the pen, clicking it and pouring on his charm. "How 'bout I give y' a even three and y' do all de rest fo' us, closin' cost wise?"

The Realtor smiled. "You just bought a house." He said, shaking Gambit's hand. "Mr...?"

"LeBeau." Gambit said, writing the amount out. "And y' are?"

"Bryson Turner." The Realtor said.

Bryson told him who to make the check out too. "Here y' go, mon ami." Gambit clicked the pen and placed it back in the check book.

Rogue tried to contain her giddiness as she watched Gambit rip the check out and hand it to Bryson. "If you could write your number on the back of my business card. I'll keep in touch. There shouldn't be any hiccups, but just in case." Bryson said.

Jotting his number down, Gambit handed the man his card back. "We gonna start movin' in, Mr. Turner. Remember, y' offered t' take care o' de rest." He said, continuing to pour the charm on.

"Yes, sir." Bryson said. "Congratulations on your new home. I'll be in touch for you two to sign the papers."

"Make it quick." Gambit said, Bryson winking at him.

"You got it!" He said.

They watched as Bryson left before they turned to face each other. "I do good?" Gambit asked.

Rogue smirked as she hugged him. "Always." She said. "Thank you."

"Need only ask." Gambit reminded her. "Now de only question is," He paused and looked around the house before looking down at her, "Wha' kinda furniture y' want?"

Leila sighed as she watched Bobby head back to her with the toy cars that had just raced. The front door opened and Wolverine stepped out and took a seat on the steps beside her.

"What's up?" He asked, placing a large hand on the girl's head.

"We're racing cars." Leila said as Bobby returned to her.

"You two been out here a while." Wolverine said. "How about you come in and get a drink. Take a little break."

"Okay." Leila said, standing with Wolverine and taking his hand.

They all walked in and into the kitchen where they got some water, Leila got a snack and then they went into the entertainment room where a few other students were hanging out.

"When's mommy and daddy coming back?" Leila asked, looking up at Wolverine.

He shrugged and shook his head. "No clue." He said, picking the little girl up and placing her in his lap. "Don't know what they're doing."

"Looking at houses." Leila said, taking a sip of her water.

"Oh yeah." Wolverine said, patting the small girl's head. "I guess you do need more room for the baby and your adopted brother or sister. Are you excited about that?"

Leila shrugged as she snacked on the fish-shaped crackers. "I don't know."

Wolverine chuckled. "You should be excited that you'll have someone to play games with." He said, running his fingers through her hair. "You don't have to play with Uncle Bobby anymore."

"Hey! We have fun!" Bobby said. "Don't we, Leila?"

"Yeah." She answered, not as enthusiastically as him.

"What's wrong?" Wolverine asked.

"I don't want to move." Leila said, looking back and up at him. "I won't see you."

"Aw, darlin'." He said as he gave her a hug. "You're gonna be coming here every day for school. We'll get to see each other." He brushed her hair behind her ear. "And hey, maybe I can come over to your new house and stay the day?"

"And spend the night!" Leila said, excitedly.

Wolverine chuckled. "Well, I don't know about that." He said. "But I'll be coming to visit you for sure."

"There's my baby!" Rogue said as she walked into the entertainment room.

"Mommy!" Leila said as she hopped off Wolverine's lap and over to Rogue, hugging her legs.

"Thanks for watchin' her, Robert." Rogue said, picking Leila up and resting her on her hip.

"No problem." Bobby said. "We had fun. Right, Leila?"

"Mm hmm." Leila nodded as she took a sip of her water.

"How did the house hunting go?" Wolverine asked.

"Well after four and a half hours of looking, we bought a house." Rogue said with a smile.

"Awesome!" Bobby said.

"Where's it at?" Wolverine asked.

"It's about fifteen to twenty minutes up the road towards Venture Avenue." She said.

"Oh yeah." Wolverine nodded as he stood and folded his arms against his chest. "I know that area. Had a friend that lived over there a while back."

Wolverine glanced at Leila. "A girl." Leila said with a smile.

"Leila." Rogue said. "Remember what Aunt Jeanie told ya? Not to look into people's minds without their permission."

The girl nodded. "Sorry." Leila said as she ate another fish-shaped cracker.

"It's alright, darlin'." Wolverine said as he pat her back. "So, the new house. When are y'all gonna move in?"

Rogue sighed. "Hopefully soon?" She asked, not too sure herself. "Remy worked his magic, so we're hoping by this next weekend we can start moving over there."

"Where is he, anyway?" Wolverine asked.

"On the phone." Rogue said, smiling at Leila as she brushed her fingers through the girl's hair. "Guessin' with the Realtor we met. It sounds like we'll be signing the papers soon."

"This all happened so fast. Are you sure that's the house you want?" Iceman asked.

Rogue smiled. "We saw a lot of houses and this one practically screamed at me from the time we walked in." She said, watching Leila take another sip of water. "Ah'm excited."

"Well, you're gonna be missed." Wolverine said, stuffing his hand in his pockets.

"Yep." Iceman agreed.

"We'll be back for school." Rogue said. "It ain't like we're moving to Wyoming."

"Oh I know." Iceman said. "But I doubt you guys will come over on the weekends, right?"

"We might." Rogue shrugged. "Depends on what's going on, ah suppose."

"C'est tout!" Gambit said as he walked into the entertainment room from the kitchen. "De house is ours. Gonna sign de papers t'morrow."

"And then we can start moving in." Rogue said with a smile as she kissed the side of Leila's face. "Are ya excited, hun?"

"I don't wanna leave," Leila said.

"Aww." Gambit walked over and ran his fingers through her hair. "Promise y' still gonna see everyone. Need a bigger place fo' de family." He said, seeing he wasn't making any progress with her. "We can have people spend de night. How 'bout dat?"

Leila smiled as she looked at Wolverine. "You can spend the night, Uncle Logan." She said.

Wolverine chuckled. "You got it, kid." He said, winking at the young girl.

"All y'all can spend de night." Gambit said. "Got plenty of room and ain' gonna have a baby fo' a while."

"We've gotta move in and get settled first before we have people spending the night," Rogue said. "We have nothing to fill that house."

"Dat's why we's goin' shoppin' tomorrow after we sign de papers." He said.

"What time is that at?" Rogue asked.

"Ten." He answered.

"Lord." Rogue said. "Would rather sleep in."

"I know, but we both gotta be t'ere." He said.

"Well, it ain't all day, so that's good." Rogue said as she placed Leila on the floor and watched her climb into Wolverine's lap.

Rogue let out a sigh as she looked through the clothes in her closet. "What's wrong?" Gambit asked from the bed, looking at her as he paused from typing up a test on his laptop.

"Could've sworn ah kept some maternity clothes after I had Leila." She answered, still looking through the clothes. "Damn."

"So, buy some more." Gambit said, closing the laptop and getting off the bed to walk around and hug her from behind. "Ain' no big deal. Besides, y' ain' showin' yet."

"Yeah, well last time ah felt like everything was happening so fast. Including me getting wider." She said, hearing him lightly laugh as he kissed the side of her head before he walked over and opened the dresser. "Are we seriously gonna start moving in ASAP?"

"Why not?" He asked, looking at her before taking his shirt off and tossing it in the hamper. "T'ink we need t' get settled in if we's gonna go t'rough another baby and a adoption, whenever dat is."

"Yeah." Rogue said as she closed the closet, giving up on her search. "Beginning to think they won't ever call us." She sighed as she looked back at him.

Giving a loving smile, he walked over and cupped her face. "Dey call us." He said, kissing her forehead. "Don' be givin' up. Ain' like you."

She smiled back. "Ah'm trying." She said, looking over his face. "Just hard when ya want something so bad and ya gotta wait for it."

Gambit smirked. "Been dere." He said, winking at her before he pulled away and head to the bathroom where he brushed his teeth and washed his face.

Letting out another sigh, Rogue walked over and got ready for bed before she brushed her teeth and washed her face as well. When she returned to the bedroom, she saw Gambit standing by the bed looking at his phone.

"What's up?" She asked, getting his attention.

He shook his head, "Alarm." He said, before plugging it into the charger and pulling the sheets down. "Don' wanna be late t'morrow."

"Ah'm so excited." Rogue said with a smile as she climbed into bed. "We actually own a house."

Turning out the light, Gambit slipped under the covers and moved closer to Rogue. "De neighborhood ain' as private as I want, but it be nice, no?" He asked.

"Yeah, it is." Rogue said, resting her head against his shoulder. "It ain't a H.O.A. is it?"

"Fuck it, if it is." He said, making her laugh. "Don' t'ink it is, anyway. Bryson didn' say not'in 'bout dat."

"Good." Rogue said, closing her eyes when she felt him wrap his arm around her and rub her arm. "It wouldn't be so bad, anyway. Unless they know we're mutants, ah suppose."

"Eh, don' t'ink about dat right now." He said, kissing her forehead. "We deal wit' dat later."

"Yeah." She quietly said as she turned and faced him, placing her hand on his waist. "Good night, Remy."

Closing her eyes, Rogue realized she was being woken up by slight jarring of the bed. Feeling Leila crawl up in between them, she helped her get under the covers.

"What are you doing in here?" Rogue quietly asked.

"I'm scared." Leila said.

"Of what?" She asked, hugging her.

"I saw something." Leila said, cuddling close to Rogue.

"Aww, baby." Rogue said, kissing her daughter's head. "There's no need to be scared. Here, just lay down and go to sleep."

Finally falling asleep, it seemed like only a few minutes when Rogue sleepily opened her eyes and blinked several times. Realizing she was alone in bed, she sat up and looked around the bedroom before settling her eyes on the clock on the nightstand.

"Eight thirty?" She asked herself as she got out of bed and got dressed before heading downstairs to find her family.

Hearing voices from the kitchen, she head that way and found Gambit talking with Logan, Storm and Scott. She smiled when Gambit looked her way, so she made her way over to him. Giving him a side hug, she felt him kiss the top of her head.

"How y' feelin'?" He asked, looking down at her face as he brushed the back of her hair.

Rogue shrugged. "Guess I'm alright. Feel fine right now. Thought you were gonna let me sleep all day." She said.

"Non." Gambit smiled. "Was about t' go wake y' up. Don' wanna be late t' de signin'."

"Remy was just telling us that you guys are going to need some help moving tomorrow." Scott said.

"Tomorrow?" Rogue asked, pulling away and looking up at him. "Remy, that's way too soon. I ain't prepared for that."

"Not de complete move, chere." He said. "Jus' de little t'ings."

"Define 'little things'." She said. "We ain't got anything worth taking. I thought we were gettin' new everything."

"Of course." Gambit said. "We gonna furnish de whole place with new t'ings. I just figured we get a head start."

"Well, what can we take over now that we ain't gonna need?" Rogue asked. "We've got the bed, two side tables, two dressers in our bedroom. Leila has her bed, dresser and chair. We're gonna use all that."

"It looks as though this was not planned." Storm said, smiling at Gambit.

"I jus' wanna move outta here ASAP." Gambit said before looking at Scott. "No offense, mon ami."

He shook his head. "None taken. It's good to have your own space. Plus, you two have another one on the way. We're running out of space here, so it only makes sense to move off site." Scott said.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to move. I'm just takin' it at a different pace as you, Remy." She looked at the other three. "Are any of y'all gonna head to California when that school gets off the ground?" Rogue asked.

"I don't think we'll go." Scott said. "I can't imagine moving across the country with a toddler."

Logan smirked. "Well, I'm thinkin' about goin'." He said, stuffing his hands in the front pockets of his jeans. "Don't have much here, except you guys. Plus, it ain't like I'm gonna be gone forever. Just there to help it get off to a start."

"I will go." Storm said.

"Ro, you our go-to for babysittin'." Gambit said. "Y' can't be up an' leavin' like dat."

Storm smiled. "As much as I love you and your beautiful family, I believe this is what I need to do." She said as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "I can call you every day if you like, Remy."

He smirked. "Call Leila every day." He said, winking at her.

"Alright, I'm gonna go change and get ready." Rogue said, tiptoeing and giving Gambit a kiss. "I'll meet ya back here?"

"Sounds good." He said as he watched her walk off and disappear from the kitchen.

"There you are." Bryson said. "Here are the keys and I hope you two enjoy living in your new home."

"Thank you, Mr. Turner." Rogue said, shaking his hand.

"My pleasure." He said as he shook Gambit's hand. "If you need anything, just give me a call."

"You got it." Gambit said as they watched him leave their new house. "Well. Dis place is all us now."

Rogue slowly head into the kitchen and placed her hands on the granite counter top of the island as she looked out into the large back yard. Hearing Gambit walk up behind her, she smiled when he ran his hand up her back and gently massaged her neck.

"You feelin' up t' furniture shoppin?" He softly asked.

"You really wanna get outta that mansion, huh?" Rogue teased as she turned around and smiled up at him. "But yes. Feelin' pretty good. Let's go."

"One t'ing I do wanna do," Gambit said as they walked out of the house and locked the door behind them. "Is change de locks."

Getting into the car, they set out on furnish their new house.
