Hey there, guess who is not dead after all! I swear I wrote this on Valentine's Day but I never got around to post it. This semi hiatus has given me time about my writing and about putting my fics out there. So far I plan to keep posting them here.
But let's get down to what we came here for. Sweettooth fluff. Cavity inducing kind. ;D
"E. Aster Bunnymund, I'm absolutely going to murder you." The beautiful woman muttered under her breath as she unwrapped yet again another gift wrapped box, but still smiled at the eight year old girl (or eight and three quarters as she usually liked to correct everyone) that held the camera.
"What layer are you on, sis?"
"18th" Aster returned from the kitchen with three cups of hot chocolate, quickly handing them to Toothiana and Baby Tooth before seating next to the little one. They exchanged a secret smile that did not go unnoticed to the young woman sitting across them and surrounded by wraper paper and boxes. Each more colorful than the next.
"What are you two up to?" An elegant eyebrow arched as she questioned them.
Her little sister batted her eyelashes and tried to flash an innocent grin while Bunny hid his expression by taking a long gulp at his hot chocolate, but she was certain she saw a hint of a smile.
Her hands dexterily unwrapped another layer to find a smaller box and rolled her eyes, while Baby Tooth tried her best not to drop the camera during a fit of laughter.
"How long did it take you to do this?" She said as she dropped the wrapper on top of the others and worked on the smaller box, while at the same time trying to figure out what the devil could be the reward at the end of the way. The box was too small to be a book or candy, even for a delicate flower.
"Way too long." He said with a sigh as he recalled the nerve-racking evening he had to spend at North's workshop, learning how to "properly" wrap a gift - North's words, not his.
It took him several tries, especially with said man and Jack peering over his shoulder and giving - not very constructive- opinions. Aster had to use all of his patience to not lose it.
As the minutes went by the present became smaller and smaller, till it came to the last box. Toothiana savoured when he told her that was the last layer - 26 in total -, and carefully opened it. Among strips of paper and confetti, was a message and she instantly recognized her boyfriend's penmanship. It put:
"The real present, is on my left back pocket."
And in the blink of an eye, he was bending down on one knee next to her, and searching for something inside his pocket.
Toothiana's jaw almost hits the floor when she saw he held an engagement ring. The silver band had delicate and intricate foliage motif that were embelished with tiny diamonds engrained in the edgework and an oval cut emerald in the center.
"Will you marry me, Toothy?" He said with a smile, while turning bright red.
She remained speechess, mouth still hanging open and eyes comically wide with surprise.
"Sheila, are ya ok?"
"Oh boy, I think we broke her" Baby Tooth stifled a chuckle as she zoomed in on her older sister's dumbstruck face.
"I will." Thiana's response was so quiet, he wasn't sure he had heard it correctly.
And because she looked so beautiful with her confused expression, he decided to tease her a little more."Sorry, what? Can't hear ya."
"Yes I will marry you, you big goof!" SHe replied on a medium shout as her cheeks tinged of a vivid red and she hugged him tightly.
He broke himself out of it to slide the ring on her finger. Aster stared at it for a moment before placing a light and sweet kiss on the back of her hand.
"Happy Valentines Day, love."
She responded with a kiss on the lips, showing how happy such a gesture had made her feel.
"Ew, c'mon you two!" Baby Tooth gave an eye roll, deciding to remind them of her presence in her usual not so subtle way. "No PDA in front of children."
But the camera was still recording and would be there in other thousand memories they would make together.
Hope you liked this short but sweet piece. Don't hesitate to send prompts. I may take a little bit with them but I always tackle them down in the end ;b
