This is a following fic to the piece "Old-Fashioned Romance" (in the Sweettooth Week compilation under the prompt Daffodils). I had been asked to continue it and it was recently brought back.

THE QUEEN'S CROWN
The rays of the sun cast down on them their warm light. The guardians had all agreed upon inviting the Bennett kids to visit and taking a break from their respective duties. And there they were, sitting in the middle of Bunnymund's warren with the very same kids that had helped them defeat Pitch and they were all ecstatic to see each other once more – the guardians' visits always felt too short for Jamie and Sophie.
Sandy was quietly snoozing under the shadow of a tree. North, right beside to the dream weaver, was closely examining an egglet with his magnifying glass, a curious expression on his face. The little thing was upside down, flailing its tiny legs to try to get out of the Cossack's grasp.
Even after knowing each other for centuries, North did not understand how it was possible for the eggs to be like that and Bunny refused to tell him, only making the other man even more curious. So every time he visited the warren – which was not much due to his tight schedule –, he spent hours absorbed into resolving this conundrum.
So far no more new theories had come up, and the others had all been refuted by the pooka.
Jack and Jamie were by the nearby stream, throwing rocks and talking. They had a lot of catching-up to do.
And they weren't the only ones, Tooth thought casting a glance over to where the guardian of hope and a little blonde girl where sitting further up the stream near to a big patch of flowers.
It had been a while since the beautiful bouquet and its message had arrived into the palace and they hadn't had time to see each other – Easter had just ended yesterday after all. She imagined he must be exhausted but he never let it show around the Bennett kids and the other guardians when he received them into his haven or even throughout the whole day. He always had a pleasant smile on his face, especially when their eyes met.
She had been waiting anxiously to see him again, placing the gorgeous flowers next to her bed and smiling whenever they came into her field of vision. Tooth had even pressed a daffodil and an orchid into one of the heavy books of her library when the flowers had started to reach the end of their cycle.
She gathered up her courage and flew over there to find the girl laughing, a woven crown of daisies resting atop of her head.
"Look!"
She sat down next to the pooka, her full attention on the little girl. "You look beautiful Sophie!"
Sophie laughed and run down the hill to show the garland to her older brother.
Tooth chuckled. Who knew a toddler could run so fast?
"I didn't know you could do that." She turned towards Bunny, and her heart gave a hard rap against her ribs. Gosh, when would she stop feeling so giddy whenever he looked at her like that?
"My mother taught me how to make them when I was little."
And she could imagine it. A younger of version of him trying to weave the stems with one another, getting frustrated when making a mistake but not giving up until he was able to fast one flower with the other into a garland. She tried to hide a smile but the image was just too cute.
"Close your eyes." He said, bringing her out of her musings.
"Huh?"
He grabbed her hands and placed them over her eyes. "Close your eyes."
She stilled, trying to listen in to figure out whatever he was doing, but the pooka is silent.
"Can I open them?"
"Not yet."
She enjoyed the slow breeze that brought the sweet smell of flowers to her nose. No other place had such a varied combination of floral aromas like his home.
"How about know?"
"Not yet, Toothy."
She picked up on the warmth of the sun on her feathers.
"Now?" She asked a little louder.
"Since when did ya become so impatient, sheila?"
The distant laughter of their friends reached her ears, a bit muffled by the sound of the running water.
"Jack must be rubbing off on me."
He chuckled. "Let's hope not."
She waited for another minute then felt something soft caress her head feathers and rest against her forehead.
"Can I open them yet?"
"Yes."
The fairy raised her hand to her head and felt something soft and very delicate. Those are not her feathers though. Were those…petals?
Aster grinned
"What-?"
"Corona Regina" He said softly, grabbing her shoulders and turning her a quarter so she could see her reflection on the clear water.
Tooth gasped in amazement.
On her head now rested a beautiful flower crown. Purple irises and red roses, intricately woven with each other, the intense colors are highlighted by the blue, green and yellow of her feathers.
But it was the meaning behind the flowers that moved her heart and even made her eyes a little teary.
Red roses meant 'I love you'.
Purple irises were a symbol of royalty.
Her reflection's eyes meet his in the clear surface of the stream. He was slightly leaning forward to see her facial expression. His eyes only convey the message further.
'I love you, my queen.'
Toothiana smiled and turned towards him, throwing her arms around his neck and tackling him with a kiss full on the lips.
The scent of irises and roses enveloped them, making the air sweeter.
'I love you too.'
Did you like it? I hope it was up to your expectations :)
