Fighter's Arena, a massive arena that was built to be a monument to the art of fighting, but holds many mystifying secrets. Images of fighters past and present. And soon to be the main stage for an upcoming major fighting festival.
"Welcome...one and all." a voice said as a certain commentator stood with multiple others. "I am Chi Ta, this arena's commentator and these are my fellow commentators and refs. This place will soon play a major role in the upcoming fight known as the Ultimate Smash Battle. But before then...I think its time to go over who will be competing."
01: Mario
"I think everyone knows this one. The jolly red plumber who goes to rescue his beloved princess time and time again. Mario, armed with his cape, FLUDD pack and Cappy among other things. He's going to be one of the more popular fighters since he's been a fighter since the smash battles began. But he isn't the only one."
09: Luigi
"The one comically dubbed the King of Second Bananas. Mario's younger twin brother Luigi may seem like a coward but he's truly become a force to be reckoned with after facing a number of ghosts. In fact, the ghosts should be more afraid of him if anything."
13. Princess Peach
"The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and beloved by a number of Toads. Light as a feather and armed with various blunt objects and toads and the turnips she picks, she is without a doubt a good fighter if you can get past her frilly appearance."
13e. Princess Daisy
"The Princess of Sarasaland. She fights in the same manner of Peach but this girl isn't afraid to get down and dirty. A tomboy at heart who is great at sports and other things that require physical movement."
14. Bowser
"The King of the Koopa's. He's attempted to kidnap the princess of the mushroom kingdom for...well...ever. But Mario has always bested him. However, this does not excuse that he is a massive powerhouse with fire and underlings at his command. Especially when he becomes the hulking Giga Bowser."
18. Dr. Mario
"This mario is a copy pulled from another world where he and all his friends are doctors and nurses. Working hard in the Life Universe. This mario is more akin to tossing medicine and using electricity than fire. Though he fights the same as Mario making him seem like a clone."
48. Rosalina and Luma
"The protector of the Comet Observatory. Rosalina is no strange to the cosmic and galactic forces at play. Her faithful Luma's coming to her side in order to fight off the forces. Though they may be beaten and battered, they will always return to her side to keep up the good fight."
58. Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings
'The son of Bowser and heir to the Koopa Bloodline. He comes into battle with the Koopalings, his...well...siblings perhaps. Adoptive at most. Larry Koopa, Morton Koopa Jr., Wendy O. Koopa, Lemmy Koopa, Roy Koopa, Iggy Koopa and Ludwig von Koopa. These 8 have arrived in their Koopa Clown Cars in order to wreck the competition along with the young lord who only wants two things: victory and the chance to beat Mario.
70. Piranha Plant
"A plant like species from the Mushroom Kingdom. A sort of carnivorous plant that somehow managed to become a top notch fighter, using the abilities of its subspecies to battle. It even has the aid of its mutant relative, Petey Piranha."
02. Donkey Kong
"Descended from the original ape that kidnapped now Mayor Pauline. This musclebound ape boasts incredible strength and super fast punches. Another heavy hitter in the roster who will try and hit the opponent with his overwhelming strength."
36. Diddy Kong
"DK's nephew and his little buddy. Armed with his peanut popgun and his barrel rockets, this little monkey is versatile with his weapons and his small frame and tail."
67. King K. Rool
"The leader of the Kremlings and Donkey Kong's eternal nemesis. He comes in here boasting his own massive strength and reflective abilities. Along with his gun and crown and a weapon he calls the Blast-o-Matic, a massive island destroying weapon."
03. Link
"The Hero of the Wild, from a version of the kingdom of Hyrule that was destroyed by the monster, Calamity Ganon. This Link is very resourceful as he is not only armed with a sword but also carries bombs and arrows to combat monsters and opponents...especially the ancient guardians."
16. Sheik
"A young Sheikah tribesman who appeared during the Era of the Hero of Time. Armed with his harp as well as several needles and bombs, this young ninja is quite skilled and ready to show all in smash why he should not be messed with. But even he has his secrets."
17. Zelda
"Princess of the Kingdom of Hyrule who hails from a time when she was trapped inside of a painting. Armed with powerful magic, the Triforce of Wisdom and a phantom, she bares her prowess as a fighter proudly."
22. Young Link
"This Link hails from the Era of Time where he has faced not just Ganon but Majora as well. He may just be a child, but he knows how to wield his sword well and is a seasoned fighter from his childhood in the woods."
23. Ganondorf
"One of Ganon's incarnations where he's taken on a more humanoid form. But he still boasts a lot of the power his previous incarnations have such as powerful dark magic and incredible strength due to his possession of the Triforce of Power. And once the battle is going his way, he will assume his true form as the Demon Lord Ganon."
43. Toon Link
"This Link hails from an era where all of Hyrule was submerged under the sea. This one takes on a more...animated appearance...compared to his other counterparts. He is young but this toon knows how to fight and sail the seas."
4. Samus
"Bounty Hunter and one of the most powerful warriors in the galaxy, Samus Aran enters the fight with her power suit, armed with a number of weapons such as a plasma cannon, a number of bombs, and a grapple beam to grab opponents. However she is not dependant of her suit alone."
4e. Dark Samus
"This Samus was created from a substance known as Phazon, becoming a sentient being with powers and skills equal to the real Samus Aran. However all of her attacks are packed with incredible amounts of phazon so that may power her up."
29. Zero Suit Samus
"This Samus fights without her power suit. She may seem defenseless but that is not true at all. She enters the battle with paralyzer pistol and her rocket shoes to deliver powerful kicks. She can even call upon her gunship to shot out all of her enemies."
65. Ridley
"The Cunning God of Death and one of the most fearsome space pirates in history joins the battle. Monstrous, powerful, cunning...this alien beast is no stranger to combat. Don't be surprise if fighting this thing may cost you your life."
05. Yoshi
"This charming green dinosaur is from an island full of them. Experts in egg combat and have been the oldest friends to Mario...even since he was just a mere baby. They are here to cheer on the green Yoshi as he fights for their glory."
06. Kirby
"This pink puffball may seem weak but he's actually pretty invincible. He may be small but he boasts a big appetite, sucking in anything that comes his way as well as his copy ability, allowing him to become a different Kirby for each fighter he copies and uses their powers against them."
27. Metaknight
"A knight of the land who wears a mysterious mask and armed with the sword Galaxia, a sword said to have been forged by the galaxy itself. Surprisingly he looks similar to Kirby except with a different fighting scheme. A true knight among knights."
39. King Dedede
"This penguin is the self proclaimed king of Dreamland. Armed with his hammer and his minions of Waddle Dee's, Waddle Doo's and Gordo's, he'll stop at nothing to achieve victory as he swings his jet hammer while wearing his mask for a ripping good time."
07. Fox
"Fox McCloud, an ace pilot and the leader of the aerial team known as Star Fox. While he may be a pilot, he is not defenseless on the ground. Armed with a reflector and blaster, he is an expert in melee combat."
20. Falco
"Falco Lombardi, the ace pilot of the Star Fox team. He fights the same way as Fox but has a little more flare and his own sort of style to go with it. He is also faster than Fox."
44. Wolf
"Wolf O'Donnell, a fierce predator and the leader of Star Fox's rival team, Star Wolf. A trained mercenary who had a hand in the defeat of Fox's father James. He's a fierce fighter and remember this one thing about wolves...they never fight alone."
08. Pikachu
"The Mouse Pokemon with the power of electricity. This speedy little mascot of a Pikachu is eager to show off his power and speed with moves such as Thunderbolt, Skull Bash and Volt Tackle."
12. Jigglypuff
"The Balloon Pokemon with a golden voice. Its may be incredibly light but be aware of its voice as its song can easily put you to sleep. It has moves such as Double Slap and Rest. Be aware, it can puff itself up to ridiculous sizes."
19. Pichu
"The Tiny Mouse Pokemon and a pre evolutionary form of Pikachu. This little mouse has some of the same moves as Pikachu, however since it is small, it has not gained the power needed to control its energy so it ends up shocking itself. Poor little thing."
24. Mewtwo
"The Genetic Pokemon and a clone created of the legendary Pokemon Mew. This Psychic type pokemon boasts incredible psychic powers and prepares to show off its full might during the battles ahead. Even...when it becomes Mega Mewtwo Y and unleashes Psystrike."
33. Squirtle
"The Tiny Turtle Pokemon and one of the three original starters. And one of the three pokemon of the Pokemon trainer. This little water type is small but can go a few rounds using Rapid Spin, Water Gun and Withdraw."
34. Ivysaur
"The Seed Pokemon and the evolved form of Bulbasaur. One of the Pokemon Trainers Pokemon. A Grass and Poison type that may be on all fours but can still put up a fight. Vine Whip, Razor Leaf and Bullet Seed make this a powerful Pokemon to have."
35. Charizard
"The Flame Pokemon and final evolution of Charmander and the last of the Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon. A powerful Fire Type Pokemon with moves like Flamethrower to help it conquer others with intense heat. It even gets more heated as Mega Charizard X."
41. Lucario
"The Aura Pokemon and Riolu's evolved form. He may seem just like an ordinary jackal, but he is so much more. The more damage he takes, the stronger his aura becomes and the harder he fights back. Once he reaches his peak, he mega evolves into Mega Lucario and unleashes a powerful Aura Storm."
50. Greninja
"The Ninja Pokemon who evolved from Froakie in the Kalos Region. A seasoned ninja armed with a number of tricks like Substitute and Water Shuriken. It is even a master of the floor flip technique and able to unleash a flurry of strikes upon its enemies."
69. Incineroar
"The Heel Pokemon and the final evolution of Litten in the Alola Region. This wrestler extraordinaire has taken up the mantle of Smash's first wrestler. His Cross Chop and Darkest Lariat moves turn the tables, even when he unleashes his ultimate move...the Max Malicious Moonsault."
10. Ness
"A lone boy from Onett who faced off against the evil Gigyas. This boy is gifted with a number of psychic abilities and his trusty baseball bat. Once he calls upon his PK Starstorm, his allies Paula and Poo join forces to attack."
37. Lucas
"Another timid boy with psychic powers who hails from Tazmily Village. He can speak with animals and has abilities similar to Ness's such as PK Thunder. However, when he calls upon PK Starstorm, his friends Kumatora and Boney join in to support him."
11. Captain Falcon
"The most famous hero and FZero Racer is part of this line up, of course. He boasts incredible strength along with his Falcon Punch and Falcon Kick, even better beware when he is behind the wheel of his vehicle."
15. Ice Climbers
"The two in one fighter Nana and Popo. These two use their unique form of teamwork to fight against their opponents. But once Nana is gone, Popo is left to fend for himself out of panic."
21. Marth
"A Lord and the well known Hero-King of Archanea who marched to face the Shadow Dragon and saved his kingdom. Armed with Falchion, he wields his powerful swordplay against the warriors of smash."
21e. Lucina
"The future daughter of Chrom and Olivia as well as a Lord wielding the parallel Falchion. She takes after Marth and uses her ancestors sword fighting style as she battles against her opponents. A worthy successor to the title hero king."
25. Roy
"The Young Lion who hails from the land of Elibe. Once again another powerful lord who bares a strong flame in his heart and the roar of a lion as he attacks his foes without discretion or fear."
25e. Chrom
"A Prince of Ylisse, leader of the Shepherds and the father of Lucina. He finally makes it to the fight to battle alongside his daughter as they prepare for a most unusual father/daughter battling experience."
32. Ike
"The Radiant Hero who hails from Tellius. A strong swordsman who the powerful Regalia blade Ragnell as he shows off his strength with his Aether skills that he uses to decimate the enemies with a single blow."
56. Robin
"A tactician and a loyal member of the Shepherds. He is more than just a cunning strategist, he knows his way around a number of spells like Thunder, Nosferatu, El Wind and El Fire. He even carries his Levin Sword should they stop working. He's covered."
62. Corrin
"A child born in Hoshido but raised in Nohr. The heir to two different kingdoms locked in the middle of war. Unable to decide on a side, he has joined the fight in order to strengthen himself. With his Yato blade and status as a sort of water dragon, this fighter is very versatile."
75. Byleth
"A new face to these fights. The Ashen Demon from Fodlan and a teacher at the Officiers Academy, this young man is no stranger to battle thanks to being a mercenary. He wields the Heroes' Relics Amyr, Areadbhar and Failnaught as well as the Sword of the Creator. He carries the will of his three best students on his shoulders as he enters the fray."
26. Mr. Game and Watch
"A bizarre young creature from a strange flat world where he has taken on a number of professions such as zookeeper, gas station attendant, judge and a chef. He's a rather versatile fighter who holds in him the powerful number 9. Be aware of the number 9."
28. Pit
"An angel and the captain of Palutena's Army. This angel wields Palutena's Bow, the Upperdash Arm and Guardian Orbitars. When he is prepared to deal the final blow to his enemies, he calls upon Phos and Lux to ride in the Lightning Chariot all the way to victory."
28e. Dark Pit
"A copy of Pit created from when he looked into the Mirror of Truth. He has the same style as pit but wields a Silver Bow and an Electroshock Arm and serves as an officer for the Forces of Nature. And goes for a finish with his Dark Pit Staff."
54. Palutena
"The Goddess of Light who illuminates all in her path. She holds within her a number of powers such as Reflect, Black Hole, Mega Laser, and many other powers that would take much too long to name as she enters the battle to fight alongside her champion, Pit."
30. Wario
"Mario's rival and the president of the not quite successful gaming company, WarioWare inc. This garlic loving crook loves to cheat to try and win and has no shame about it, even while masquerading as a super hero. Be that as it may, he is still powerful and gross so watch out."
31. Snake
"The legendary mercenary who has mastered the art of stealth to get in anywhere he desires. Equipped with his mastery of martial arts as well as a number of weapons and explosives, he's ready to try and gain a number of quick takedowns and wins."
38. Sonic
"The worlds fastest blue hedgehog zoom onto the field. His name is no joke, he's fast enough to break the sound barrier, maybe even beyond that. Fast on his feet, he's always ready to land quick hits and go Super Sonic to win the day."
40. Olimar
"A small space explorer from the Hocotate Freight company who commands a group of altruistic alien lifeforms known as Pikmin. Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple, White, Rock, Winged, he's got them all and will have them swarm his enemies. He even has Alph, an engineer from a neighboring planet, to be his back up to fight against the opposition while also commanding Pikmin."
42. R.O.B.
"Robotic Operating Buddy or ROB, is a robot that has joined the battle with his spinning arms and laser beam eyes as well as a gyromite. This robot is ready to show those human doubters out there a machine can fight just as well as a human can.
45. Villager
"A lone human villager who lives among the animals. While not a traditional fighter, he does have a number of items at his disposal such as an axe to chop down trees, a bowling ball, even balloons to fly high. Guess he's not that weak if he has all those items, even the power to pocket others items and projectiles."
68. Isabelle
"A young secretary who serves her mayor faithfully as best she can. But she is no weak puppy. This dog's bark is worse than her bite as she holds some of the same powers as the Villager, even using a fishing rod to reel in her opponents before giving them a pounding."
46. Mega Man
"The robot made for justice jumps right into smash with his mega buster and a number of abilities: Metal Blade, Crash Bomber, Leaf Shield, Fire Sword, Slash Claw, Hard Knuckle, Flame Burst, Spark Shock and Super Arm. But then he calls upon his other incarnations along with Protoman and Bass using Black Hole Bomb to unleash a powerful blaster barrage. There exists no stronger robot."
47. Wii Fit Trainer
"This fitness coach is ready to show her skills in smash with a variety of sports gear, yoga poses, and the power of the sun from her Sul Salutation move. She is no simple training program."
49. Little Mac
"Brooklyn's star boxer has entered the fray to take on the opponents of smash. Don't let his diminutive size fool you, he packs quite a punch. Once the power meter of his reaches the max, he'll unleash a one hit ko punch that will send you flying."
51. Brawler
"One of our three wild card positions for fighters who fight using their own fists. "This dot chasing, ghost gobbler enters the battle with an appetite to match his power. One of the first pros, he comes here with pellets and fruits in order to get the leg up. Better hope he's not hungry. He eats ghosts for breakfast."
57. Shulk
"The wielder of the Monado enters the battle. With his blade, he can see the future and use powerful arts such as Smash, Speed, Jump, Buster and much more. This boy truly is...a force of power on his own, even when his allies Dunban, Riki and Fiora join at his side."
79. Pyra
"The fiery half of the Aegis wielded by Rex. She is a true blade with fire boosting all of her abilities as she swings it down upon her enemies and then joins Rex to use the Burning Sword technique. But...she is only half a fighter."
80. Mythra
"The other half of the Aegis wielded by Rex. She uses the element of light instead of fire and is the true form of the Aegis. With Sacred Arrow, she and Rex can easily tear up the battlefield together."
59. Duck Hunt
"This duck and dog duo enter smash to shoot things up and take some names. True they don't have much experience in battle, it doesn't matter cause they are joined by a third party: an invisible shooter who fires their gun where the two mark the spots. Don't get in their crosshairs."
60. Ryu
"The Wandering Warrior himself. A martial artist who travels the world to test his might and become the strongest. This man is no stranger to fighting as he unleashes is Hadoken and Shoryuken to face his opponents."
60e. Ken
"Ken Masters, an American martial arts celebrity and Ryu's rival. Both having trained under the same master, their fighting styles are almost exactly the same as they both want to prove themselves the best."
61. Cloud
"Cloud Strife, the swordsman soldier and the one who battles the one winged angel. With his buster sword in hand, he can carve right into his opponents. And when his limit is at its peak, he'll unleash his signature Omnislash move."
78. Sephiroth
"This is one no one expected. The one winged angel himself descends onto smash in order to bring despair with him. With his long range katana and his devastating magic, this man is no joke and could very well easily kill anyone who stands before him."
63. Bayonetta
"The Umbra Witch magics herself into the battle with her guns fully loaded. With her bullet arts and assists from Madama Butterfly as well as Gomorrah, this woman may be mature she is in no way easy to deal with."
64. Inkling
"These fun loving squids are no strangers to weaponry and turf wars. Armed with with ink filled blasters, splatter bombs and killer wails, these fun loving squids are ready to have all the fun in the world as they enter the ultimate turf war.
66. Simon
"The monster hunter of legend, Simon Belmont. This man has single handedly slayed the vampire known as Dracula dozens of times and continues on a long time. With his axe, cross and whip along with some holy water, this vampire hunter is about to hunt a different kind of prey."
66e. Richter
"Richter Belmont, another member of the Belmont Clan who fought Dracula in Rondo of Blood alongside Dracula's son Alucard. As a Belmont, he wields the same skills as his ancestors and will continue to hone them to his next child and show them in Smash."
71. Joker
"The leader of the infamous Phantom Thieves of Hearts and second in command of the new Phantom Thieves under Jack. He may seem weak with just a knife and gun but his skillset changes once Arsene is brought into the playing field."
72. Hero
"The Luminary, the hero of Dragon Quest 11. A skilled magic caster and swordsman. He joins along with Eldrick of Dragon Quest 3, Solo of Dragon Quest 4 and Eight of Dragon Quest 8. And when these four focus their powers, they call upon past heroes to deal the finishing blow against their enemies."
73. Banjo & Kazooie
"Well this is a rare sight. The classic bear and bird duo join the battle at last. Banjo mostly attacks using his feathery friend as a weapon like an egg blaster and a mallet. And best say your prayers when the Jinjinator comes flying out."
74. Terry
"Terry Bogard is one of the highest calibur fighters in the King of Fighters and Fatal Fury tournaments. An SNK icon one would say. With fighting moves like Buster Wolf at his disposal, he is without a doubt a force all on his own."
76. Minmin
"The Ramen Bomber and a frequent fighter in the ARMS battles. She fights to promote her family's ramen shop. She got with her a RamRam, a Megawatt and a Dragon ARMS, and to change them out casually, she is ready for the fight again."
77. Steve
"One of our more...bizarre fighters. He crafts using bricks he finds in the arena to make weapons and such. By his side are Alex, a zombie and Enderman. These four will bring the pain. Watch out for the creepers."
81. Kazuya
"Kazuya Mishima. Not many words can describe this man. Now acting leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu after finishing off his own father in an active volcano. And with the Devil Gene, this man is merciless on his quest towards the top."
82. Sora
"The final fighter to join the smash roster is the Keyblade wielder of legend and the one who saved a number of worlds. With keyblade in hand, along with his magic and skills, he's ready to show the world what they have all been waiting for in him as a true fighter."
