Hey everyone, sorry I didn't comment at all on the last chapter I just wanted to get it written and published for you all. Also I'm not American and don't celebrate Halloween so please forgive me if I get things wrong.

Chapter 14

Present day

"So Spencer, what are you doing for Halloween this year? Do you and dad have plans with the rest of your team?" Jack asked as they ate breakfast

Spencer thought about it while he finished his mouthful of toast "I'm not sure actually, no one has mentioned anything. There's a good chance that we will be working though"

Jack laughed "yeah that's true, you guys always get called away at the worst times. If you are in town though you should come with Amy and I to our friends halloween party"

"Yeah that could be fun" Smiled Spencer

"What could be fun" Hotch asked as he walked into the kitchen after his morning run

"Just a party dad" Jack replied

Hotch looked at his oldest son "who's party?" he asked as he poured himself a coffee

"It's at Marty's house, it should be fun. And if Spencer comes then Amy might not make us dress in a stupid couples costume" he laughed

Aaron smiled at his boys and prayed they didn't get a case, Spencer needed to have some fun.

"So how is Amy going?" Hotch asked as he sat down to eat his breakfast

Jack smiled as he thought about her "she's really good"

"What does she want you to dress up as?" inquired Spencer

"I don't know, some stupid kardashian couple?"

Hotch and Spencer were both still laughing when the phone rang, "Hotch speaking"

A minute later he was off the phone, "get your stuff together Spence, we have a case, I'm going to grab a quick shower and we'll meet everyone on the jet"

10 years earlier

"You made it back in time" Spencer cried as he rushed into the bullpen to meet the team that had just arrived back at the office after a week long case.

Hotch crouched down to catch the small boy who was flying towards him "hey Spence" he said giving him a hug "I'm so glad we made it just in time" he smiled

Tonight was Halloween and Spencer has been praying that they would solve the case and all be able to go trick or treating together "you know that we all need to start getting ready soon" he said pulling back and looking Hotch in the face

Hotch smiled and put Spencer down, "well then you better tell everyone to hurry up and get out of here then" he laughed as Spencer ran over to the others and told them to go home and start getting ready and to meet at Hotchs place at exactly 6:00 to start. Hotch laughed as they all gathered their things and headed out just as directed. A moment later Spencer was dragging him toward the elevator "come on!"

At 5:30 Hotch and Spencer were both ready and waiting for everyone to show up. "Where are they???" He moaned looking out the window for the hundredth time "look at all the kids out there! We'll miss out on all the good candy" he complained as he started pacing around the room.

"They will be here very soon I'm sure" Hotch reassured him "Look is that Garcia and Morgan?" He said as a car pulled into the driveway

Spencer ran back to the window "yes yes yes!" He cried jumping up and down then running to the door to open it for them

Garcia made it to the door first "look at you my little tin man!!!" She said as Spencer turned around so she could get a good look at his costume. "You look awesome!"

"Thankyou Glinda!" He said as Morgan came in the door behind her "Morgan you look great" he said

Morgan thought that he looked ridiculous but he would do anything to make Reid happy so he smiled down at him and said "thanks pretty boy, where is everyone else? We'll miss out on all the good candy if they don't hurry up"

"That's what I said!!" Spencer cried running back to the window to see if anyone else had pulled up yet. The rest of the team turned up within the next few minutes and Spencer was nearly beside himself with excitement.

"Henry! Come on we gotta get started" he said as he rushed out of the door and grabbed the small boys hand and started dragging him down the driveway.

"Spencer! Stop!" Hotch yelled sternly and smiled when the small boy stopped immediately. He walked quickly over to the boys and leaned down to speak to them "now, we have a few rules tonight. Firstly, we all stay together as a group. Secondly we are in no rush so let's just walk and have some fun ok?" He smiled at them as Garcia came up with her camera insisting that they get a group shot while everyone's costumes still looked fresh.

Spencer sighed, Garcia was insisting on all kinds of pictures, one group one then one of just JJ's family then one of her and Morgan, he just wanted to go already!

"ok last one for now, Spencer you and Hotch" Garcia directed as they smiled automatically.

"let's go!" He insisted as soon as the photo was taken and started to walk down the street with the team quickly falling into place behind him and Henry walking next to him.

As they walked along they got quite a few nice comments on their costumes, "thanks mrs peters"Hotch said smiling at one of his neighbours that had stopped him to chat. The more houses they went to, the more confident Spencer got and he was happy for the adults to stand back while he and Henry knocked on the doors themselves.

Hotch had a great time watching Spencer act like a child and actually enjoy himself.

After a few blocks the boys were struggling to carry full candy buckets and walking a lot slower than they had at the start. "Ok, last house guys" he said

JJ laughed as the boys insisted they wanted to keep going "sorry guys it's time to head back ok, quickly go and knock on the door" she encouraged them

Hotch followed them to the door and stood a few paces behind them as they knocked.

Spencer smiled at the old lady that opened the door "trick or treat" the boys said together, "oh my goodness! Look at you two adorable babies!" She exclaimed holding out a big candy bowl "take two each for being the cutest things I've seen all night"

"thankyou" the boys said after picking their candy, as he turned to walk away Spencer let out a huge yawn.

Without saying anything Hotch held out his arms and Spencer willingly let himself be picked up. He had to admit that his feet were getting sore and he was getting a bit tired.

Garcia couldn't help but snap a few more pics of the boys asleep on their respective parents shoulders by the time they returned to Hotchs house. "My tired little pumpkins" she smiled

"looks like I get all the candy!" Morgan said holding up the candy buckets

Spencer stirred at the mention of candy "mine" he mumbled before settling into hotchs arms again, sticking his thumb in his mouth and promptly falling back to sleep. The rest of the team quietly said their goodbyes and got into their cars, as Hotch fumbled with the door, the sleeping toddler and the candy bucket he heard a quiet chuckle from behind him "here let me help you"

Prentiss took the bucket and the keys from her boss and quickly opened the door, stepping back to let Aaron in

"thanks Prentiss" he whispered as he walked passed her and straight up the stairs to put Spencer to bed.

While Hotch was busy upstairs Emily took it upon herself to make them both coffee

Aaron smiled at her as he walked back into the kitchen a few minutes later, "thanks for the help, I'm sure I would have dropped something without it"

"yeah well I couldn't let you drop the candy, Spencer would have been very upset" she smiled "is he all settled?"

"yeah he's sound asleep, he did say something about candy as I tucked him in though. Maybe I should hide the bucket so he doesn't eat it for breakfast?" He laughed

They sat in comfortable silence as they drank their coffee. Once she was finished Emily got up to leave "well I suppose I'll see you guys tomorrow" she smiled

Aaron returned the smile and walked her to the front door "goodnight" he waved as he watched her into her car and drive away.
