Well hello! Here's a new chapter of The Forest's Princess-fanfiction, with some inspiration from the Miraculous-series, and the Ginga Deensetsu Riki-manga, and the ERASED-manga, rights not owned by me. See you in the chapter.
Clarice walked through the terrain near her father's cave until she found a hollow tree trunk that had fallen to the ground.
The sun was going down.
"Now might be a good time to practice kicking that tree trunk", Clarice decided, and began kicking the tree trunk the same way she had seen Gallant, and Bambi do in both Bambi-movies.
Dhak dhak! After kicking the trunk for a while, with her front and hind legs, Clarice saw the marks that had just appeared on the trunk of the tree, caused by her kicks.
"I can already kick the way I want, but you can only call them strong kicks when I have completely destroyed the trunk of that tree, or even caused a couple of cracks or holes in it!" Clarice decided, continuing to do kicking exercises.
"Evening, Clarice", Friend owl said, coming over.
"Evening, Friend owl. Can I ask you something?" Clarice asked looking at the Friend owl perched on a tree branch.
"What do you want to ask, Clarice?" Friend owl asked.
"Well, have you ever felt like you want to say something really badly, but some invisible force stops you?" Clarice asked. "Or, more precisely, that you want to say something really badly, but that word gets stuck in your throat, and you can't say it".
"What do you mean by that?" Friend owl asked.
"Well, I've wanted to say a certain word to my father for a while now, but I just haven't had the courage to do it. How did you and my father become friends, and what was my father like before the hunter took my grandmother Amara away from our forest?" Clarice asked.
Clarice had already lived with her father for 2 weeks, but every time she had tried to say Gallant as her father, the word had simply stuck in Clarice's throat. This thing was already gradually starting to feel really frustrating for Clarice. Clarice wanted to even be Gallant's friend if Clarice couldn't call Gallant her father. The only problem was that Clarice didn't know how she could earn her father's friendship.
Clarice continued to do kicking exercises.
Clarice was afraid of how Friend owl would answer the questions Clarice had just asked.
Clarice wanted to be an excellent, phenomenal princess, believing that if she was like her father, then Clarice's father would love Clarice, or even consider Clarice as his friend.
"Mom said she had to earn dad's friendship, so I'm trying to do that myself. Dad's just really too upset about what happened to my mom to even talk about it. Like dad, I miss mom so much", Clarice thought about her mom, and she felt like because sad.
After finishing her kick practice, Clarice looked at Friend owl again, hoping that Friend owl would at least somehow answer the questions Clarice had just asked:
"I would even like to be friends with my father. Please, Friend owl, don't tell my father about what we just discussed".
"Fine. Your dad isn't very good at socializing with other deer", Friend owl said after realizing what Clarice was talking about.
"Mother said that, when I first saw father in the meadow", Clarice said.
Clarice looked at the moon in the sky, and the stars.
Suddenly Clarice was overcome with the same feeling as when she looked at the meadow with her father at the top of a hill. Looking around, Clarice saw an old male-deer standing a short distance away from Clarice. The old male-deer had horns similar to Clarice's father.
Clarice was so surprised by the noble nature of the deer, and the wise, warm look in the deer's eyes, that Clarice could not move:
"Who is he?! I've never seen him before when I've wandered this forest, and he didn't appear in any of the Bambi-movies, or even any of the Bambi-books!"
"Princess Clarice, your father was near the meadow the day your mother was caught by a hunter. Seeing that thing reminded your father of the fate Amara experienced so much that your father was unable to move properly as you ran right past him, finally arriving at your mother's cave", The old deer said walking towards Clarice in front of. "Your father also had to run away to the forest, and after crying for a while in the forest, your father immediately went looking for you, so I believe your father loves you. It's a little difficult for some people to show their feelings to others, and your father is one of them. I believe that if you try hard enough, you will earn your father's love. So don't let anything discourage you".
"Okay", Clarice said. Clarice didn't know why, but for some reason the strange deer's words made Clarice feel calm, and as a result, Clarice smiled.
"Before your grandmother Amara fell prey to a hunter, your father was much happier. He was quite a curious man, and wanted to know the answers to the many questions he could think of to ask. If you want to be your father's friend, you just tell him straight up that you want to be his his friend. It should be quite easy", The visiting deer said to Clarice.
"Alright. I'll try that. Thanks", Clarice said, then looked at Friend Owl. "I still want to know how you became friends with my father".
"All right. I'll tell you", Friend owl said, but looking at the spot where the stranger's deer had just stood, Friend owl noticed that the stranger's deer had disappeared:
"Where did he go?"
"I don't know, but he had the same antlers as my father", Clarice said after seeing the old deer disappear.
"I saw that thing. I feel like I've ever seen the deer we just saw", Friend owl said. Friend owl was sure of his suspicions and tried to think about it, but just couldn't quite remember where he had seen the deer he had just seen when he had seen that deer before:
"I first met your father when Amara first brought your father to the meadow. Your father was about to rush excitedly to the meadow, but Amara stopped your father by running in front of your father, and then warned your father of the dangers of the meadow. Amara went to the meadow first, and then signaled her son to come to the meadow. I was that day there with my father, and my father said hello to your father, and as a result I said hello to your father, and we talked about some things after that. Your father was a little shy at the time, but we gradually got along, eventually becoming friends".
"I see", Clarice said. Then he removed the bark from the trunk of the tree he had just kicked, and ate it.
At last, when Clarice had eaten some, she saw her father coming in:
"Evening sir. I would like to be your friend".
Gallant looked at his daughter before answering:
"I don't get to spend much time with my friends because of taking care of the forest, but when I was your age Friend owl kindly helped me locate the places in our forest where the best trees to sharpen my horns are and where to find drinkable water".
"I understand. They say you know our forest well. Have you been everywhere in our forest?" Clarice smiled slightly as she mentioned how she had recently heard some deer talking about how well Gallant knew the forest they lived in.
"Not necessarily. There could be places in our forest that even I haven't been to yet. Maybe one day I'll go and explore those places in our forest. Why did you ask?" Gallant asked.
"Well, I would like to come with you to explore those places in our forest one day. A princess must know her own forest. Mother said so. I know of course that bad things should be left in the past, but mother will never disappear from our hearts", Clarice said walking into her father's cave to go to sleep. "Good night sir".
"I will consider your suggestion, Clarice", Gallant said. "I feel like I've heard the words Clarice just said sometime before".
"Well, actually, sir, there was an old deer that came by and spoke to Clarice. That male-deer was a with the same antlers as you. The deer in question advised Clarice to try to befriend you. The deer left here as quickly as he had come here", Friend owl flew away.
"Old deer?" Gallant asked, then went to sleep.
"What am I going to do to Gallant so that he and Clarice don't end up like Anne, and Anne's father did before they reconciled? Considering Gallant's good memory, I don't think Gallant has forgotten the things I told him long ago", The old deer thought looking at Clarice, and Gallant while standing behind a tree.
"Tinker Bell, how's your leg?" Mena asked, walking through the big hole in the trunk of the Tree of Life, near the roots of the tree, and put the food she was carrying in her mouth in front of Tinker Bell, who was lying on the floor inside the big tree.
"Stings but I'll heal", Tinker Bell said.
"Good", Mena said.
"Clarice is doing kicking exercises now", Friend owl said as he came over.
"I see she wants to be strong", Mena said.
"Yes, and the wolves recently chased Clarice, and Gallant, but Clarice, and Gallant escaped by jumping over a small ravine", Friend owl said.
"I am glad", Mena said.
"Yes. Did Clarice really jump over the small ravine?" Tinker Bell asked.
"Yup. Gallant told your daughter a little bit about Gallant's wolf friend", Friend owl said. "As a result, Gallant was avoided when Gallant was younger. That is because no one in the forest wanted to know about the Wolfs they...were afraid".
"I see. How was Groundhog Day?" Tinker Bell asked.
"Friend owl had to coach the marmota out of his home, and then Ronno was rude enough to scare the marmota", Mena said.
"Ronno is following in her father Champ's footsteps from what you said", Tinker Bell said.
"You're right", Mena said. "It feels bad not telling your husband and your daughter that you're alive, as they both clearly miss you. Gallant always looks sad when you're mentioned, and the same has happened with your daughter".
"It was for their protection", Tinker Bell said.
"I understand, but Champ is now mocking your husband for not being able to protect you", Mena said. "Champ always talks about it loudly, when he sees your man".
"That deer never learns", Tinker Bell said.
"Yes. And her son will probably start bullying other animals", Mena said.
"This needs to stop but how?" Tinker Bell asked.
"Perhaps your husband should face Ronno's father again in a battle of horns?" Mena suggested.
"I honestly don't know if that will work, but I'll recommend watching Ronno's father after the fight spy on him if need be", Tinker Bell said.
Mena nodded.
