Naruto was bored. He loved his new family and having one. However, some habits were hard to break, and his need for attention and desire to play pranks were not going to go away anytime soon. Walking home after school, he contemplated his options for a prank. After a moment of thought, he came up with an idea.

As Naruto stared at the fountain in town, a mischievous idea formed in his mind. He contemplated changing the color of the water to create a spectacle, perhaps making it appear as if the water was contaminated or toxic by turning it into a glowing green or another unusual color. His imagination sparked with possibilities as he pondered how to execute the prank, brainstorming various methods to achieve the desired effect.

Naruto found some dyes that were left around; they were harmless or so he figured as he saw them used in the making of some fancy cakes and ice cream. He took a number of them and slipped off quietly as he waited till no one was around. He tossed in the dyes at once, figuring whatever the result would be funny and would draw attention. He smiled as he felt proud of himself and his little plan right up to the point a strong hand grabbed hold of his wrist, and the dye fell harmlessly on the ground.

It was Anko Mitarashi who had caught Naruto in the act. Her sharp eyes had noticed his suspicious behavior from afar, and she swiftly intervened before his prank could unfold. Gripping his wrist firmly, she halted his actions, causing the dyes to scatter harmlessly onto the ground.

"Naruto, what do you think you're doing?" Anko's voice was stern, yet there was an underlying hint of curiosity in her tone.

Naruto's eyes widened in surprise as he recognized the kunoichi. He knew of her reputation as a formidable ninja with a no-nonsense attitude, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of apprehension at being caught by her.

"I-I was just... um, trying to... uh..." Naruto stuttered, his mind racing for an explanation.

Anko arched an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by his attempt at evasion. "Trying to pull a prank, huh?" she said, her tone sharp. "Well, let me tell you, kiddo, that's not the way to go about it."

Despite feeling a bit intimidated, Naruto couldn't help but feel a sense of respect for Anko's straightforwardness. He swallowed nervously before speaking again. "I-I'm sorry, Anko-san. I didn't mean any harm. I just... I guess I was bored and wanted to have some fun."

Anko regarded him for a moment, her expression softening slightly. She could sense the sincerity in Naruto's words, recognizing the familiar feeling of restlessness and the need for excitement that often plagued young ninja like him.

"Look, Naruto," Anko began, her tone gentler now. "I get it. Being a ninja can be tough, and sometimes you just want to let loose and have a bit of fun. But there are better ways to do it than pulling pranks."

Naruto nodded, understanding dawning in his eyes. He knew that Anko was right; there were other ways to channel his energy and creativity without causing trouble.

"Listen, kid," Anko continued, her tone firm yet supportive. "Why don't you come train with me sometime? I can teach you some cool techniques and help you blow off some steam in a way that won't get you into trouble."

Naruto's eyes lit up with excitement at the prospect of training with a seasoned ninja like Anko. Despite his initial misstep, he felt a sense of gratitude towards her for offering him guidance and understanding.

"Thank you, Anko-san. I'd like that," Naruto said earnestly, a genuine smile spreading across his face.

Anko returned his smile with a nod, her lips quirking into a smirk. "Alright then, kiddo. Consider it a deal. But for now, let's clean up this mess and make sure you don't get into any more trouble, alright?"

Anko, with her unconventional approach to life, understood the dangers of idle time and the importance of channeling energy productively. She recognized that Naruto, her newly adopted son, needed both training and positive affection, recognizing it as a way to keep him out of trouble and help him deal with his pent-up energy.

For Anko, training Naruto wasn't just about teaching him ninja techniques; it was also an opportunity to bond with him. Unlike Iruka, who had the chance to connect with Naruto at school, Anko saw this as her chance to support him in her own unique way, offering guidance and understanding in a manner that resonated with her own experiences as a ninja.

"Training ground 8 is currently open, Naruto. We can train there, and I can help you with that chakra control of yours. I know it's been a weakness for you," Anko said, aware of Naruto's struggles with chakra control. She had learned about this from Iruka the night before and was eager to offer her assistance in addressing this challenge.

Naruto's eyes widened in surprise at Anko's offer. He hadn't expected her to be so proactive in helping him with his chakra control, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards her for her willingness to lend a hand.

"Th-Thanks, Anko-san," Naruto stammered, his voice tinged with excitement. "I-I could really use the help."

Anko grinned at his enthusiasm, pleased to see his eagerness to improve. "No problem, kid. We'll work on it together," she replied, her tone reassuring. "But remember, it's gonna take some hard work and dedication. Are you up for the challenge?"

Naruto nodded eagerly, determination shining in his eyes. "Absolutely! I'll do whatever it takes to get better!"

"Okay, hmm, let's try the tree walk. It's hard, but I think it will help you control your chakra," Anko suggested, wanting to pinpoint the root of Naruto's issue. She had a hunch about what might be causing his struggles, given what she knew about him.

As Naruto attempted the tree walk exercise, it quickly became evident that controlling his chakra was more difficult than he had anticipated. With each attempt, he struggled to maintain the balance and focus necessary to adhere to the tree's surface. Time and again, he found himself slipping and falling back to the ground below.

Frustration threatened to overwhelm him as he watched Anko effortlessly navigate the tree with precision and grace. But despite the setbacks, Naruto refused to give up. With unwavering determination, he pushed himself to his feet each time he fell, his resolve only growing stronger with each failed attempt.

Anko observed Naruto's efforts with a mixture of admiration and concern. She could see the fire burning in his eyes, the unyielding spirit that drove him to keep trying no matter how many times he stumbled. It was clear to her that Naruto's massive amount of chakra was posing a significant challenge for him.

"Yeah, that's the problem," Anko acknowledged, addressing Naruto's struggle. "Your massive amount of chakra makes it hard for you to control it. That's the challenge you're facing; you're going to have a harder time naturally. It's like how tossing a couple of stones and juggling them is easier than trying to juggle a few dozen stones."

She paused, considering her next words carefully. "Get to the halfway point, and I think I know a move that you might be able to do—a kind of walk-before-run jutsu."

Naruto listened intently to Anko's advice, feeling a surge of determination coursing through him. He understood the importance of patience and focus, knowing that rushing would only lead to more mistakes.

"Got it, Anko-san," Naruto affirmed, his voice brimming with determination. "I'll take it step by step and stay focused on each move."

With renewed determination, Naruto resumed his ascent up the tree, his concentration unwavering as he focused on each step. As he approached the halfway point, he could feel his confidence growing with each successful stride.

Anko watched Naruto's progress with a sense of pride and satisfaction. She could see the improvement in his technique, the determination in his eyes shining brightly. This was what she had hoped for when she offered to train him—to see him grow and thrive under her guidance.

"Focusing, don't rush, keep your focus on each step, and you've got it," Anko encouraged Naruto, her voice filled with confidence. She knew that with his determination and her guidance, Naruto was destined for greatness.

Naruto nodded in acknowledgment, absorbing Anko's words as he continued his steady ascent up the tree. With each step, he focused on maintaining his balance and channeling his chakra with precision, determined to reach the halfway point.

As he neared the designated mark, Naruto could feel a surge of excitement coursing through him. He was making progress, slowly but surely, and he knew that he was one step closer to mastering the new jutsu that Anko had promised to teach him.

With a final burst of effort, Naruto reached the halfway point, a triumphant grin spreading across his face as he glanced back at Anko. "I did it, Anko-san!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with pride and excitement.

"Good, now, I have a jutsu to share with you Naruto," Anko said with a grin on her lips. "It took a lot of work and honestly begging the old man to let me teach you this," she admitted as she had a long meeting with the third hokage about this and with a lot of work she talked him into letting her teach naruto the jutsu. It was a true run before you walk. "Now simple clones, I am going to teach you the shadow clone jutsu, you will be able to create a tone of clones once you get this one down, Naruto, sound good?"

Naruto's eyes widened in excitement at Anko's announcement. The Shadow Clone Jutsu was legendary among ninja, and he couldn't believe that Anko was going to teach it to him.

"Really?!" Naruto exclaimed, barely able to contain his excitement. "That's amazing, Anko-san! I've always wanted to learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Anko chuckled at Naruto's enthusiasm, nodding in affirmation. "That's right, kid. But let me warn you—it's not going to be easy. The Shadow Clone Jutsu is advanced, and it requires precise chakra control and concentration. But if anyone can master it, I believe it's you."

Naruto's determination flared up once again, his eyes shining with determination. "I'll do whatever it takes to learn it, Anko-san. I won't let you down!"

Anko smiled at Naruto's unwavering resolve, knowing that he was ready for the challenge ahead. "Good. Now, let's get started," she said, gesturing for Naruto to follow her as she began to demonstrate the hand signs for the Shadow Clone Jutsu.

The pair of them worked late into the night and into the next morning, tirelessly attempting to master the Shadow Clone Jutsu. Despite their determination, neither Anko nor Naruto were willing to back down, their resolve only strengthening with each failed attempt.

However, there was one crucial detail that Anko had forgotten to mention to Naruto—she didn't know how to perform the jutsu either. Despite this setback, the two of them worked side by side, studying the scroll and discussing their progress as they practiced relentlessly.

As the hours passed and the sun began to rise, Anko and Naruto continued to push themselves to the limit, their determination unwavering even in the face of repeated failure. Though they struggled, they refused to give up, their shared goal driving them forward with renewed determination.

Together, they practiced the hand signs, focusing on channeling their chakra with precision and concentration. Despite the exhaustion setting in, neither of them showed any signs of slowing down. They were in this together, and they were determined to succeed no matter what it took.

Very early the next morning, to both of their surprise, it was Naruto who successfully nailed the Shadow Clone Jutsu first. With a triumphant grin, he created three clones, demonstrating his newfound mastery of the technique.

"I got it, Anko! You can too," Naruto declared proudly, his voice ringing out with confidence as he briefly shifted from student to teacher.

A while later, Anko managed to pull off the jutsu as well, creating two clones of herself. She knew immediately that this would be her limit, as the technique was draining and required considerable chakra reserves to use. Nonetheless, she smiled proudly as she looked at her adopted son, feeling a sense of pride in their joint accomplishment. It had been an important night for the both of them, cementing their bond as teacher and student.

As they prepared to return home, Anko couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt about their prolonged absence. She knew that Iruka would most likely be upset that they had disappeared for the entire night. However, she was confident in her ability to smooth things over with him. After all, beneath his tough exterior, Iruka was just a big softie at heart, and she knew he would ultimately forgive them once he saw how much they had achieved together.
