Adjustments

Hope you all recovered from that last installment! Here's the next thing.

You didn't think Loki was going to save Patty's life without any short-term consequences, did you?

I own nothing (except a Marvel sticker with Spider-Man and Loki on it. Plus the other Avengers.)

FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE REVIEW AND COMMENT! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT IF YOU DON'T SAY ANYTHING?!

Patty POV:

I…adjusted. Coming back from the dead is no joke. It took me a few days to feel 100% again.

And of course there was still the other heartbeat. Don't think I'll ever get used to that.

Anyway, that few days was just enough time for me to recover before…weird stuff started happening. Like, really weird, weirder than normal for me.

So I was just chilling on my bed, reading like a totally normal person, when it happened. I know this sounds corny but there's no other way to describe it. Reality bent, and stuff, and there was this snap, like popcorn. And then I was in Loki's apartment. On his counter.

Cool…

Loki walked in and saw me. He did not seem that surprised. "Oh dear," he sighed, "I wondered when this was going to happen."

"Did you bring me here or something?" I asked.

He set down his cup of tea. "No. It appears to be a side affect of the binding I performed."

Oh…it was beginning to come together. "So…I have magic now?"

Loki shook his head. "Unlikely, it's probably just a…" I held out my hands and WILLED something to happen. Magic would be so cool! Like, really awesome!

"Patty." Loki said. "That's probably not going to work…"

My hand glowed. My hand FREAKING glowed!

Loki raised his eyebrow. "I stand corrected."

I bounced off the counter. "DID YOU SEE THAT?! THAT WAS SO FREAKING COOL I THINK I'M GONNA DIE!" Then I ran around his ceiling like a four year old. Who could walk on walls. Which sounds horrifying, by the way, but anyway.

Eventually I calmed down and we talked.

It was a long talk, involving much consumption of ice cream, but the upshot of it was that Loki was going to teach me how do magic. Loki also convinced me that it would probably not be a good idea if I tried anything complicated on my own.

Of course I wouldn't! Why would I do that? That would just be dumb!

What happened at school was totally an accident.

OK, so I was just existing, and then…Flash came along. Flash isn't so bad anymore, (ever since that one time when Loki beat him up) but I still don't like dealing with him. Plus, it had been a really late night patrolling, and I was just really tired. There was no where to hide. He was going to find me, and tease me, and it would be awful…

I closed my eyes and…something happened. I did something. I felt a cloth, or something like a cloth, fall on me. I opened my eyes and Flash walked past, without a second look.

Well, that was weird but fortunate and now I can go on with my day…

Or not.

My reflection in my locker mirror…wasn't my own reflection. I looked…different. I was blond, with braces and pimples and stuff. Oh dear…

I shapeshifted. That would be awesome if I knew how to reverse it.

Loki. I had to get to Loki. Cool. Very cool.

I skipped school. Ouch. Not like I could really go on, looking like some random person!

But it would be fine once I found Loki.

Wherever he happened to be at the given moment…

Loki POV:

I, for once, I swear, had nothing more devious on my mind than finding the elevator buttons without looking up from my book. It was one that Patty had given me, a mystery novel.

Anyway, I was feeling around on the wall for the buttons when it happened. I stuck. To the wall.

What-oh, no…

Of course this would happen. Of course this would happen to me. The bond…Allfather.

I could not get my hand off the wall, no matter how hard I pulled. Even my magic didn't help.

And then Thor walked in.

"Brother, dost thou know where the Maid of Iron keeps the spray-on cheese? I have searched diligently and can not locate it."

He saw me, stuck to the wall, and burst into laughter.

"THOR THIS IS NOT FUNNY STOP LAUGHING OR I SWEAR I WILL KILL YOU!"

The idiot continued his idiot laughter. He was wheezing by now and bent over double. Never before have I ever wanted to stab him as I did then.

"THOR I PROMISE THAT…"

Patty came out of the elevator. To make a bad situation worse, it appeared that she had put an illusion on herself.

"Oh, not you too."

She looked down at her blond hair. "Uh…how do I fix this?"

I sighed. "Simply imagine the illusion falling to the ground and disappearing. Now this might take more practice, but if you can't do it I will…" She closed her eyes, and concentrated. Sure enough the illusion fell.

She blinked. "Oh. That was easy."

"Good. Now that your problem has been fixed, could you assist?"

Only then did she appear to notice my hand was stuck to the wall. "Oh no, not you too! That happened to me a lot when I first got my powers."

After an embarrassingly long time, we managed to tear my hand from the wall. But not without taking a good deal of the wall with it.

Patty rubbed the back of her head. "Guess it's not just your magic bleeding through, is it?"

I shook the rubble off my hand. "Speaking of bleeding…"

Patty grabbed the knife. "No. No stabbing. Please?"

I sighed. "He shall live another day."

Patty smiled. Why is it that I will do anything to see her smile.

Yep! The end. Patty has magic now and Loki some Spider-type powers! This is NOT gonna be chaotic at all!
