A yelp sounded from the storage closet, prompting Inukimi to place her book on the table, a makeshift bookmark keeping her place. Gliding down the hallway, soft albeit frustrated mumblings guided her toward the mishap.
Pushing the door open, she found Izayoi tangled up in a string of lights, arms held above her head. "How did you find yourself in such a fascinating predicament?" she asked, leaning against the doorway.
Izayoi flushed, pulling at the knot around her wrists. "I was trying to get a head start on the decorations."
"Darling, the engagement party does not begin for a few days. Touga is only picking them up at the airport as we speak." She made no move to rescue her mate, enjoying the view.
Izayoi bit her lip, then sighed. "I feel like I barely do anything to help. You took care of the guest list, and Sesshoumaru was adamant about cooking the food himself." The sigh turned into a pout. "Kagome won't even let me dress her."
The daiyoukai chuckled softly, finally entering the room. "She just wants to spend time with you. Offer to make tea while she is unpacking. It will calm her nerves and give you a chance to catch up."
She perked up at the thought, then tugged at the cable. "I can do that! Can you help me out of this so I can prepare it before they arrive?"
Inukimi flicked one of the bulbs. "Why would I want to do that?"
"I can't very well make tea if I'm tied up," Izayoi pointed out.
"Of course not." She grabbed her mate's chin, tilting it up as she stepped closer. "But there are other things it will allow us to do."
The flush returned, followed by the intoxicating scent of her arousal, and Izayoi's eyes flickered toward the door. "We don't have time—"
Inukimi smirked, her other hand sliding into the folds of her kimono. "We always have time."
