Upon reaching Erin's apartment, Justin eagerly anticipated seeing her. However, he couldn't shake the unsettling feeling that something was amiss with his partner. Despite Erin telling him she was fine, her distant tone during their phone call left him suspicious. Justin hesitated to confront Erin about his concerns, as he knew she would deflect the conversation.
Upon settling the taxi fare, Justin expressed his gratitude to the driver and proceeded to ascend to Erin's apartment with a smile, clutching a small gift for her in hand. Inside, he scanned the living room for Erin, calling out her name and began searching the other rooms in hopes of finding her.
Justin searched the bathroom for Erin but did not find her there. Hearing her voice calling from her bedroom, he proceeded towards it. Upon entering Erin's room, he found her lying on the bed in a curled-up position. 'Hello, darling,' he greeted as he approached and sat beside her, observing as she turned her face to look at him. Justin smiled as Erin whispered a greeting back to him.
The dark-haired man leaned in and kissed her on the lips, to which Erin responded with a kiss of her own, wincing slightly when his lips grazed her cut. Yet, she made an effort to touch up her makeup to conceal the injuries.
Embracing Justin, Erin deepened the kiss, causing a soft moan to escape their lips before Justin inquired, 'Did you miss me?' 'I did,' Erin replied, sitting up and snuggling into Justin's arms despite the discomfort from her aching body. They both settled in bed, with Justin wrapping his arms around her slender shoulders.
Justin smiled at Erin's words, 'Good, because I couldn't stop thinking about you,' he said as he kissed her forehead and adjusted his position to retrieve a small box from his coat pocket.
Erin, trying to stifle a yelp, observed his movements and inquired, 'What are you doing?' Justin responded calmly, 'You'll see,' and proceeded to sit up in bed with her. As Erin looked on curiously, Justin handed her the small box.
'What is this?' she asked, intrigued. Taking the box from Justin, Erin opened it, and he explained, 'Open it and find out. I thought I would give you something special since we're going out, and I wanted to bring some cheer to you.' He watched with a smile as Erin explored the contents of the box.
The brunette nodded as she opened the box, saying, 'But I didn't give you anything.' Erin expressed feeling regretful about the situation, but Justin just shrugged it off, stating, 'You being with me is all I need,' as he kissed her cheek and instructed her to open the box. Upon opening the box, Erin was surprised to find a necklace inside and remarked, 'It's beautiful,' as she examined the small golden heart with an E engraved on it in her palm.
Despite her gratitude, she insisted, 'You didn't have to do this,' with a smile. Justin took the necklace from her and placed it around her neck, saying, 'Of course I did. So stop saying I didn't have to,' with a chuckle.
Erin moved her hair aside for Justin to fasten the necklace. As he was about to secure the necklace behind Erin's neck, he noticed fingerprints around her neck, but proceeded to clip the necklace in place before gently running his fingers over Erin's neck.
Erin, upon feeling the cool chain against her neck after Justin clipped it, sensed his fingers lingering on the back of her neck, prompting her to look over her shoulder and notice the worried expression in his eyes.
'What happened?' he inquired. Once Erin turned fully towards Justin, he observed the bruise around her neck, realizing it was not there when he had left hours ago. Gently tracing Erin's neck, he withdrew upon seeing the discomfort in her hazel eyes.
'Nothing—' Erin began to offer an excuse, but Justin interrupted her, stating firmly, 'This is not nothing, Erin.' His tone was slightly harsh, causing her to flinch, and he swiftly regretted his choice of words. 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across as harsh, my dear,' he apologized, embracing her.
As Erin closed her eyes and nestled her face into his chest, she struggled to keep herself from disclosing the recent intruder and the violent incident, including the attempted rape that had taken place approximately ten minutes prior to Justin's arrival.
"Erin, can you please provide me with details of what transpired? I am eager to understand the situation so I can offer assistance." Justin gently rubbed his fingers on Erin's back as she sighed before responding, "I am uncertain about the event." Erin was contemplating sharing the details of the attack with Justin while avoiding discussing her stalker with him. Justin expressed his readiness to support her by saying, "Please share whatever information you can, and I will offer my assistance to the best of my abilities. If someone has harmed you, I will not hesitate to-"
Justin was interrupted by the brunette pulling away from his embrace. Erin started recounting to Justin what had happened after he had left, saying, "After you departed, I was watching TV and then fell asleep for approximately an hour. I awoke to a knock at the door, assuming it was you. However, I expected you to use the key I provided you with or to call me when you were on your way back." Erin observed Justin sitting there quietly as she narrated the events.
"Upon waking up to a knock at the door, I initially assumed it was you, expecting you to either enter with the key I've provided you or call me upon your return," Erin recounted while observing Justin's reaction.
Taking a pause, Erin solemnly continued, "As I opened the door, a masked man abruptly entered and attacked me." Feeling a sense of shame for her inability to defend herself, she glanced downward.
In response to Erin's narrative, Justin's eyes flickered with anger at the notion of someone assaulting Erin. "Did the intruder communicate any intentions?" he inquired, gazing directly at Erin. As Erin started to reply, Justin interjected with a concerned tone, "Did he physically harm you?" Justin's fear of the possibility of Erin being raped fueled his anger towards the assailant.
Erin confessed, 'No… but he attempted to rape me,' with a sigh. 'He fled when you called me before any harm was done,' she explained, causing Justin to breathe a sigh of relief. 'I am grateful that I could rescue you,' he said, embracing Erin tightly.
Having agreed with a sigh, Erin added, 'But I should have been able to defend myself,' she said, hiding her face as she let out soft cries. 'I am a police officer for a reason, but he caught me off guard.'
Listening to Erin and holding her in his arms, Justin reassured her, 'It is not your fault, my dear.' He whispered in her ear, feeling his heart ache at her tears. 'You did your best to fight against him,' he said, gently rubbing her back.
As Erin wept in Justin's embrace, she acknowledged, 'I understand, but I should have checked who it was first.' Whispering against his chest, 'It's not your fault, my love, alright. We will determine who attacked you,' he vowed.
Erin nodded in agreement as she calmed down and addressed Justin, 'Okay, but please refrain from informing Voight about this incident as we do not wish for him to overreact,' she cautioned.
Justin acknowledged her request with a nod and a kiss on her head, reassuring her, 'I understand, but if a similar situation arises again, we may need to consider it.' Erin reciprocated his gesture, gazing into his eyes as their lips met once more.
She allowed him to guide her back onto the bed, feeling his hands exploring her body and eliciting a soft moan from her as he caressed her skin beneath her shirt.
Justin couldn't contain his smile at the sound of her pleasure, as he leaned down to her neck, planting gentle kisses on her bruised skin and running his hands along her sides, discreetly slipping his hands underneath her shirt.
Erin raised her arms as Justin carefully removed her shirt, unanticipated but unable to resist as her lover's kisses trailed down her neck and onto her chest.
Once Justin got Erin's shirt off, he couldn't help but smile at what he saw – her breasts moving with each breath she took. His mind was all over the place, telling him he shouldn't be doing this, but he ignored it and started kissing down Erin's slim body, his mouth finding a nipple. He grinned when he heard Erin moan softly. As he sucked on her nipple gently, Erin's moans grew louder.
"Are you sure you want this, Justin?" she asked through moans. Justin looked into Erin's eyes, took his mouth off her nipple, and said, "Of course I'm sure." He kissed her chest, whispering, "I want to take your mind off things." He went back to sucking on Erin's nipple when he saw her nod, and that's all he needed.
Erin's breath caught in her throat as Justin moved lower down her body, planting kisses along her stomach and pausing when he noticed a sizable bruise on her rib cage. His hands hesitantly gripping her jeans, he stopped in concern at the sight of the injury. 'What's the matter?' Erin inquired, feeling his fingers press against her rib and sensing the anger in his gaze.
'That despicable person will pay for this. Did he kick you?' Justin questioned, refraining from further action upon realizing Erin's injury. Turning her gaze away to conceal her pain, Erin confessed, 'He kicked me while I was standing before he left.' Forgetting about the bruise, she answered Justin's query, 'Why did you hide it?'
Erin admitted that she honestly forgot she had the item and did not get a good look at it," the brunette stated as she sat up with Justin's assistance. "I suggest you undergo a medical examination to ensure there are no broken ribs or injuries," Justin mentioned, standing up from the bed. However, Erin halted him as she put her shirt back on. "I refuse to go for a check-up; I'll manage," Erin declared before getting up and experiencing a sharp pain in her ribcage.
"Managing is not an option," Justin retorted. "You can't even move." Erin shook her head as Justin reached for her keys. "We are not going to the hospital; Voight cannot find out that I was assaulted," Erin insisted firmly. Justin expressed frustration over Erin's stubbornness, stating, "In my opinion, Dad should be informed of the attack so he can catch the perpetrator.
Erin firmly stated, 'I decline.' Her words were accompanied by a hiss through gritted teeth as her vision began to blur. 'However, if my refusal necessitates a medical evaluation, I will ask Shay to assess me in order to end your inquisition,' she explained while putting on her shoes. Justin, aware of Shay's expertise as a paramedic, was initially hesitant to accept this course of action.
However, understanding that Shay would likely recommend Erin to go to the hospital, he chose not to challenge her further and Instead followed her outside. 'Very well,' Justin acquiesced, clutching the keys in his hand.
'But for safety reasons, I will assume the role of the driver. It is unwise for you to operate a vehicle with an injury to your stomach,' he affirmed as they departed for station 51.
'If it means alleviating your concerns, then I am indifferent,' Erin responded from the passenger seat of her jeep, suppressing a cry as pain radiated through her ribcage. Justin sighed and took the driver's seat, proceeding towards station 51 to seek Shay's assistance.
