Chapter 39:Old Friends
In another part of the kingdom staring off on the walls of the kingdom right now was oscar. Who as watching the kingdom right now seeing everything right now. Mainly all the work that has gone into defending the kingdom from that witch. He was in awe of the sight never expecting that he woud ever live this sort of life. All he thought he do was shovel hay or tile the fields
But this was something amazing something he never expected to be involved in. as him and ozpin where enjoying the view right now as he talked aloud to him right now sighing
"This is…amazing…its…a shame that people had to die to get us here"oscar said with ozpin sighing in his head
"It is my friend. Its a surprise that we haven't merge yet…it should be within i guess a year now. But if you keep using my magic…it would be maybe three months then"ozpin warned as the farmhand sighed
"Maybe your right. But…maybe when we win your soul will be finally released. Maybe if we mange to finally bring everyone to together the gods will favor us"oscar replied as the man of many lives couldn't agree anymore
"Perhaps you are right. Though it seems an old friend is coming to say hello"ozpn said
Looking over oscar looked surprised to see ember walking over with a piping hot cup of coffee in hand. As she was talking with hazel talking about something
"Honeslty i understand you hated oz. but you should have seen me tease his female life i saw…he was so embrassed"ember cooed with the man laughing a little actually
"Well i'm on the right path now. But its been enjoyable having these talks with you. Your old life sounded interesting in those times"hazel said as these two seemed to have become good friends
"You two seem to have gotten close in the last couple weeks"oscar stated
"In a way yes. But he asked me some questions about you and i answer them truthfully. How you saved my baby girl and what not. I really miss her still…but i spent a day or two crying about her along with my great grandchildren"ember replied sipping on the coffee feeling a buzz right now
Ember hummed in bliss cuddling the coffee cup against her cheek
"This is amazing! We never had something like this….a mocha?"ember said with a smile as hazel and oscar shared a look
"That would be the case. Though how are you child and…oz"hazel asked as oscar listened to ozpin for a moment before he gave him control as the man sighed leaning against the wall
"Oscar says he still grieivng for the children we lost. I am as well…..it seems i failed to keep my promise to my friend still. Lucifer hates me i know it"ozpin replied as the two other shared a look with hazel not belviing that
"How can you be sure he would hate you?"hazle questioned
"Huh?"ozpin replied
"I said how can you be sure he would hate you? It has been years since your last meeting i take it. Granted you had his family go into hiding. But you and those children work managed to make them finally stand up against salem. Why would you think that?"hazel questioned with ozpin sighing staring at his cane in hand clenching it tight
"I failed that man because i made him a promise long ago. That i'd find a way to restore my reputation with his family. It seems i had but…"ozpin paused as his lips quviered as he hung his head down in complete shame
"I failed him because i promised myself to help him find his family. To make sure he recovered from his trauma…i had to take a bullet from james to convince him…but…god we do all this for all of those children to die. We…still might not even have a chance to defeat salem…we might loose. I failed again"ozpin cried with tears on his host face
What felt like seconds right now as it passed into minutes. Soon enough ember set her cup of coffee down walking over hugging her old friend close in a gentle embrace
"Old friend right now i am finally free of my curse. Something i dreamt about for years, we can't give into that despair or salem would be winning. "Ember said staring at him before gently hugging him for a moment
"But we need to keep on living for them. Maybe….maybe you could go talk to him. Those other ones you've met seem to be excited to meet you"ember said as he sighed pulling himself gently away from her
"I think it would be a terrible idea….he might–"he was stopped
"Actually you should in my opinion. The better we know how to defeat salem the better. He must have had a trick to stab her or trick her. Did he ever tell you that he harmed her?"hazel asked which made ozpin search through the deep sub conscious of all his lives right now as he did he realzied something.
"He never told me that….why didn't he"ozpin questioned
"Then theirs an excuse to talk to them. Ask him why he didn't tell you about the godkilling weapon he had. Come on lets go. Lets grab some snacks on the way"ember said walking forward as the three had a new mission to go on right now
The three of them quickly moved throught the city along ith ember grabbing snacks. If you count a basket full of baked goods that she deovured in mere seconds still without a sign of fat on her bodie. Guess ambroise made her body unable to gain fat

"I don't make as bad puns as mom did when we were younger. But she does do grandma puns alot right now"mars mentioned as desdemona was laughing coughing a little in joy. As zoey hummed noticing them
"Oh hey guys what ups. Weird to see you three hanging out"zoey greeted as the others noticed them with oscar slinking back but ember just said it
"Ohhh nothing oz here wants to finally talk to lucifer right now. Ask him why he didn't tell him about the god killing weapon"ember bluntyl said to their surprise as desdemona coughed into her hand
"Really? Well i wouldn't mind i got to see something that cheered me up. Lets head on down their"desdemona said as lazerez helped her into a wheelchair. With them assisting her down the stairs as they walked outside to the family crypt right now
Standing outside of it oscar could hear the whsieprs again as fiona felt creeped out hiding behind her big sister
"This place just screams a scary a movie….this is weird"fiona commented
"Come on its not that bad. Granted their is a bunch of skulls down their they used to be in vale. But we moved them to the family crypt since we made vacou our home after the last 400 hundred years"mars replied which didn't make this sound any better

Desdemona was wheeled over as she placed the necklace she wore on a slot in the door. It clicked into placed before opening for her as watching this was deacon and kaur rushing over
"Des why are you opening the crypt is their an emergency?"kaur asked as the old women chuckled
"Oh nothing its just that ozpin wants to talk to lucifer right now. It seems he wants to talk to his old friend"desdemona said to their shock with deacon growling stomping his foot down
"Dammit! And i know where not allowed down their….okay…have fun kid meeting the great lucifer"deacon said mockingly
"Wait he can only go down their. Isn't that dangerous?"robyn questioned concerned for his safety
"Oh its quite fine. I even got to visit it one time with matilda. Creepy down their but safe…be prepare to hear alot of voice. If i recall they call out to oz to speak to him"ember warned as oscar gulped taking the descent down into the crypt with him taking the necklace felling like he may need it
What felt like forever he traversed the stairs that seemed to go into the crust itself. As he kept walking the cordiors where light by torches with the flames being colroed dark blue to his surprise these were light already guessing someone must up keep the place alot
Soon enough he made it down to the bottom of the stairs seeing a dark light room before the lights came on before him. Looking inside he went wide eyed seeing shelves and stoen srapchongus around the room in the area. Along with that he could see several different suits of armor to his utter shock like it was an entire collection of old world history right now
Oscar slowly stepped inside seeing sciprtures on the walls along with old suits of armor you see in fairy tails. But he also saw rows upon rows of skulls that lined the suits of armor with the stone caskets. As he noticed a few familiar ones as he kept walking standing infront of one deer like skull with the words"chiwa graves"enscribed on a name plate
"Chiwa"oscar muttered before the skull glowed a little in the eye socket startling him. As this happened suddenly several of them started to glow as he was bomabred by the same whispers again this time
But it was defying making him wince in pain falling to his knees wanting this to stop. As he got his wish as one voice spoke out
"Quiet"a deep voice spoke out silencing all the voices as he followed the source of the voice seeing the large box in the center of the room. As it had the set belonging to lucier along with a large box close by along with the nameplate on the stone pedestal
"Lucifer graves"oscar read aloud to himself walking over as ozpin felt nervous to meet his old friend right now. But walking over he inserted the key twisting the box open to reveal the dragon skull inside of it as he stared at it before shifting around on something desdemona gave him
A vial of blood as he exhaled before staring at the cork undoing it
"Ready?"oscar asked as ozpin took control nodding. Then he dumped the cork into the skulls eyes sockets as the eye sockets of the dragons skull light up in a blinding light covering the entire room right now
Once the light covered the room ozpin adjusted his eyes as all the skulls in the room eyes sockets light up at once. As ozpin adjusted his gaze he looked stunned as standing before him was his old friend lucifer graves. Who was in a white hazy appearance while wearing some old style pants with a tunic with him smiling at his friend
"Ozair…well isn't this interesting. Finally you call me after….god how long has it been"lucifer said as their was a chair here as ozpin took a seat sighing with an upset look
"Too long old friend…i go by ozpin now. This is my new host oscar he is young but…hes a capable young man"ozpin complimented his new life as lucifer smiled hearing that
"It seems he is. You know i watch everything mostly beyond the veil. But tell me to what do i owe the pleasure my old friend? Here to ask me how it was making your old flame get her rocks knocked off"lucifer asked cheekly
Ozpin couldn't help but laugh at that because his friend was quite the tirkcster back in the old days
"No…no…more like…i..came to apologize to you and ask you a question"ozpin said peeking lucifer interest as he hummed
"Apoloigze for what old friend? If this is about chiwa…i take full respsoibility for that. I did sleep with salem…pissing her off after i gave her the best night in the last hundred years"lucifer joked making ozpin glare at him
"Old friend…i've…ive caused nothing but pain and suffering for your family. Look at all these previous holders of your gift…all of them…dead…and still she finally wants to commence her grand plan after all these years"ozpin started as he listened to his old friends woes
Ozpin couldn't help but get a little anger at his friend along with himself right now
"Why did you never tell me about your family blessing…why?! We could have ended this years ago…we could have stopped her and none of these children would have to fight in…my stupid….war!"he cotninued clutching his head trying to not cry but he couldn't help it as he let some out of his eyes
Ozpin shook his head exhaling slowly"why would you just pretend to take the blame….it was my fault your family went into hiding! I got your kin with your gift killed!"he cried and cired infront of his old friend. What felt like forever the ghostly figure reached down pulling his friend into an embrace. Ozpin could feel it as lucifer sighed
"Old friend when i found out about the blessing the goddess told me to wait for the right time to show you. In atlas she let yan, yin and matilda tell those children we are with her remember i told you this when we spoke many years ago"lucifer said as ozpin nodded
"You did…why bring this up?"ozpin asked as the ghost let the embrace go smiling at his friend
"Because i needed to keep my own secrets from you. I hated it but…you've finally managed to do it oz. after so many years, the pain, the suffering, the people we've lost. It will finally come to fruition….we can finally kill the witch"lucifer said with pride as it seemed to fill ozpin with pride finding comfort in his friends words
"Thank you old friend. Did you see that someone else managed to leave a scar on her. Along with your replacement did he intrigue you"ozpin asked as lucifer chcukled
"Why he did seem interesting. Reminds me of me in my youth as a late child"lucifer said as ozpin smiled
"I hope that he is with you now beyond the veil"ozpin said but as the two old allies and friends sat their lucifer gave him a puzzle yet confused look right now telling him something
"Oz….hes not with us"lucifer stated which caught him completely offguard as he looked at him utterly confused hearing this right now
"Lucifer….lucifer mrs. jacobs saw them die…that boy…hes dead he fell itno some abyss. Their all dead"ozpin said as the spirit stared at him before smirking with a laugh
"Oz….you know i'm not lying. If one of the family archangels dies with my gift they would join me here. But yet i see no sign of that boy which means…"he didn't even need to finish as ozpin was in complete shock hearing one thing….they were all alive
"Are…are you saying their…their…"ozpin was stopped as lucifer smiled at him
"I'd like for you to bring me to these little friends you've made my old friend. Lets have a talk with them"lucifer asked kidney disappearing in a hazy mist right now immediately ozpin released control as oscar was in tears right now
"Oscar…oscar! Grab his skull…go grab hazel now or anyone to help you!"ozpin shouted in his head. Oscar sped back up to the entrance of the crypt. He sprinted like his life depended on once he was at the top he panted with sweat beating down his face
"Whoa kid whats the rush? What you get scared of your own shadow down their"slade joked as ember walked over before noticing oscar was crying as he caught his breath
"We need to gather the others now! Go grab that skull belonging to lucifer!"oscar shouted confusing them as lilith sighed
"And why should we do that?"liltih asked as he decided to tell them
"Lucifer just said that he wasn't with them beyond the veil….he said their all alive!"oscar shouted stunning her as she stared at him. As they needed to gather the others right now to tell them whats going on right now
Meanwhile inside the academy medical wing sun was staring at the door where his girlfriends was rigth now. With his aunt by his side as he sighed as they had a talk on the way here on a possible problem. That being diego current mental health after serving as a grimm knight for years
"So you think he might be…messed up"sun asked as she nodded
"I think so. Carmine is worried about it and when he gets up hes starting a round of therapy immedialty."bonnet replied as he couldn't agree more
"Yeah would we um…you know greet the guy if he is awake"sun said as she nodded
Deciding to finally head inside they opened the door revealing the makeshift hospital room right now. Though sitting on the bed awake right now with a tired look on his face was diego. Though his right arm was missing as he was in some patients clothing. But one thing was certain
That being sombra hugging him tight not wanting to let go as she was sobbing right now with lisa hugging her husband in tears of joy right now

"Its…its so good to see you again diego"katherine cried as diego sighed as he gently moved his wife away with his left arm but stared at the bed looking down
"Yeah…just…processing this…been dead…three times now i guess…its…finally over"Diego said weakly as he was very tired which nix noticed presenting him a tray of a food

Lisa was laughing before playing with her daughter hairs
"Awww your boyfriend seems to be trying to cheer your father up and it worked. Your still my delicate little flower"lisa said with a teasing coo but the monkey faunus spoke

"Holy shit…your…that one women…who…treated us with some humanity in that place"Diego said as she sighed closing he door with tears in her eyes
"I did…but um…at least um…one of you got to…be saved…unlike the other six"carmine cried as the man looked down hearing those words as tears came to his eyes for a moment as he sighed covering his face shaking his head laughing slightly
"Dam…so meli…wu…lec…aarne and…hell even drac are dead…even that little kid?"diego asked as she softly nodded
"Their all gone….but i'm so sorry…i'm sorry for–"she was stopped
"I don't blame you girly…i only blame….watts"diego growled as his heartrate monitor skyrocketed not because of fear but in anger as the man snarled clenching the bars on his bed tight before bending them slightly as amrboise noticed it

As it died down standing before them was lucifer ghost in his set of armor right now. He didn't speak before gwen screamed at the top of her lungs in fear right now seeing a ghost. As asher eyes bulged out of his head in shock. Glynda herself blinked several times taking her glasses off rubbing them before going wide eyed
"This…this…is this real?"glynda questioned as she spirit laugh
"Why i am? This is interesting you brought alot of people here oz….are they all trustworthy?"lucifer asked with oscar nodding
"Well umm yes should we take the kids out of here"oscar asked as piper walked over staring at the ghost giggling at him
"Funny looking knight"piper cutely said as the ghost knely down studying her for a moment humming sensing something

"Well don't be you can stand. Though…."lucifer paused walking over as the arc family was their. He walked around them humming as he seemed to be studying them as he did the same with adder creeping him out. Along with that he stared at bombay seeing her one silver eye laughing
"Ah aphosis, joan and ahiktos kin…interesting lets see…hmmm you their what is your last name?"lucifer asked pointing at cardin who flinched as he froze in place
"Uhhhh winchester"cardin answered as the spirit looked surprised before clapping his hands laughing
"Well isn't this interesting. Your the kin of my old friend from back in the day, interesting for you to be around. After he tragically lost his life defending a village, but his symbol still lives on his family"lucifer said stunning cardin that his ancestor was friends with someone he considered like a brother right now
"Oscar…why is he here?"raven qeustioned again as the spirit said it
"Oh i'm being allowed to tell you this. Your little ah who were they ah….team RWBY and ZERO if i recall. Along with that tarrus fellow…blackburn girl and the poltian girl. They are all alive"lucifer siad making them go silent for a moment hearing the ghost say they are alive. As this made vance growl walking over kicking the skull making deacon growl as he shoved him back
"Your disrpecting a cheirhsed family artifact!"deacon shouted
"That stupid ghost is saying my sisters are alive! They watched them die…my sisters are dead!"vance cried in agony as the spirit chuckled pointing something out
"Well if they are dead. Then my replacement would be with me…since when one of us dies. We stay with the goddess of balance. Yet he is not with us or his previous holders of my gift"lucifer said as they ddin't buyt it
"No fricking way thats true. I call shengains"nora said but someone spoke up actually on that
"Ummm…uh…actually uh…yumi..dear…me and peitro spent all morning going over your program for that bug. And we um….we never found a bug"will stated with a shaky voice stunning them with yumi pulling her laptop out from her bag pulling it seeing the program
"But…but…that makes no sense! How can their be no bug!? Someone can't just…not be dead! A heartbeat can't be on a corpse?"yumi questioned in tears right now with desdemona explaining
"No…no lucifer isn't lieing. The previous archangel was still alive when i was very young, they told me when i was found out to have the gift. That…they all go to a place where all the previou archangels are. Our..scripture even says it…are…are you telling the truth?"desdemona asked the spirit who placed his hands on his helmet removing it before smiling
"How about i show you something to convince you. You deserve it after all your troubles"lucifer said before snapping his fingers as they all got covered by a blinding white light right now as they saw a vision of the past
Vision
It was many years ago as it showed something right now. That being a grimm like land before them that seemed devoid of any lift but all their was grimm. This was the land of darkness the home of anything evil. Though inside a grand castle right now inside a grand room that had a bed big enough for several people it seems

Though the women skin started to burn as she screamed like a banshee smacking him away as he landed against a wall hard. The man slipped his helmet on before grabbing a large box strapping it to his back. Salem stood their in complete shock and horror on her face clutching her wound falling to her knees in agonizing pain
"What…what did you do to me? WHAT WAS THAT?!"salem shriekd as the castle began to shake with lucifer laughing at her with pride in the laugh
"I managed to find your one weakness my dear. Now stay still and i can end your–"he was stopped as she fired off a blast of magic into his chest. This sent him flying out of the castle as he went hum mid air. Before suddenly from the back of his armor two large dragon like wings on his back landing safely on the ground.
Then he looked up seeing about thousndas of grimm rising from nearby tar pits. As the man sighed cracking his neck molting the wings off
"Welp. guess i need to fight my way out of here. So be it"lucifer said before acitivng his fifth form. The man started to grunt as he flexed his arms as they started to transform into lage claw like talons along with a long tail sprouting from his back. Along with a pair of large dragon wings but soon he roared out like a dragon. Because he soon changed into his arcangel form being a pure white dragon as it roared rushing in to fight the grimm
The vision then changed to show lucifer on his deathbed passing on. But it shifted to show a random boy with fair skin and brown hair with dark blue eyes. Along with being talked to others sharing his eye color as it showed him training as it began to skip generation showing him in a set of armor fighting through hordes of grimm with a axe in hand
But it eventually changed into someone familiar that being scarlet graves. Who was fighting her way through a horde of grimm. As the women dashed forward driving her daggers through a beowulf chest cavity gutting it. Before flipping her other dagger tossing it straight into a grimm head before snapping a banshee neck continuing the fight
Another showed them brutus graves with joan arc by his side. As the two old friend were slaugthering through grimm with each other. Brutus tossed a beowulf in the air as joan used a nearby tree for moment leaping upward slashing downward cutting the grimm in half making the scene change again
It showed another knight that being anbuis who was fighting and slaughtering his way through several grimm with his whip out wrapping it around a beowulf neck before tossing it around a palm tree above before yanking hard shooting the grimm up snapping its neck like a twig as it fell to the ground dead not even moving. Then he drew his swords lunging into the battle slicing and cutting down several grimm that stood in his way
Changing again it showed the twin archangel yin and yan. As the two of them where double teamming a king tajtu that tried to swallow the two whole. But both of them ran down opposite head dragging their baldes into his scaly skin before landing on the ground with the grimm turning to dust. As both in unison whipped their blades down walking forward sheathing their blades
Another showed chiwa firing off several arrows from his bow with his silver eyed cat faunus compatriont assisting him. As ahiktiko slice down a grimm with chiwa filling the nearby grimm with arrows with a smile on his face continuing to slaugther any grimm in his way with his bow
Though it showed matilda on a old boat with her helmet off sighing as she stared at what atlas used to be like back then. But soon roaring could be heard as she stared at a sea felong coming for her as she smiled slipping her helmet on raising her trident up high to the skies
It kept showing a variety of people in knight armor as they got more modern over the years. As it showed them walking forward with them slowly changing into the modern age with one being a younger desdemona it seems before showing the current archangel being zane.
Though the vision soon shifted before showing a vast landscape with a large tree in the center of the world. Then it shifted to some strange room with all these same knights in the room but one thing was for certain. The three throne in the center with only one occupied. That being occupied by a women bathed in a blue light before it showed something. That being the people they lost in this strange land showing team RWBY and ZERO walking together with each other. As it showed a image of lazuli and adam with each along with neo finding herself somewhere strange. Another showed jaune sitting on a rock staring at the night sky. The vision ended

All of them opened their eyes in utter shock as lucifer seemed to smile at them before staring at ozpin new host
"Now don't go telling everyone about this oz. keep it a secret please"lucfier said before disappearing before their eyes as they all needed to process what they just witnessed.
With that we see the group get showned someting, that being the others being possible alive. Though it seems they may need to prepare for whenever the final fight against salem happens.
