Something that Frigga, the former Queen of Asgard before her death, never expected to see happen was her youngest son appearing at the gates to Valhalla. Oh, she knew Loki would have come to her eventually. She simply didn't want him to meet her so soon. She quickly and elegantly ran to meet her son before he broke out of his shock.

And there she saw him. Standing there in front of the gates, staring up at the palace in front of him behind the gates. He had yet to notice her coming towards him, but once he does his eyes go wide.

"Mother…" her boy's eyes shine with tears. Frigga didn't notice that her own eyes were filled with tears until they fell down her cheeks. She rushes towards her son, wrapping her arms around him. Loki was in so much shock at seeing her once again and that she was not furious with him. As far as he knew, she should. Frigga knew that he blamed himself for her death.

She pulls herself back, smiling sadly up at him. "My son," she presses her palm against his cheek. Even though Loki didn't think he deserved her comfort, he leaned into her touch, chin trembling faintly. "What happened to cause you to come to me so soon?"

It took a few moments for Loki to get his wits about him and calm himself. Frigga could wait for him. She would. Because this was her beautiful son, and she loved him. And the only response she got from him was one word; one name. "Thanos." It was a whisper, and when that had come out of her son's throat she noticed it looked faintly bruised. Usually, once one arrives at Valhalla you won't arrive with any injuries, but if one did not believe they deserved to be there they would arrive with some.

Thanos…

Frigga's face contorts into devastation. "Oh, Loki…" This time when she hugged him tightly, he did the same. The two let their tears fall. It felt as if they needed to let this pain out before continuing their conversation.

It took the two a little while before they could discuss things calmly and without the water works coming back. Frigga led her son back to the palace. Others stared, wondering either how Loki came to be there or even why. Some were wondering how someone like Loki could end up in Valhalla. Frigga was ready to snap at any of those people if they dared to mention it.

The former Queen and Prince took a seat beside each other in one of her 'nooks', as she liked to call it. They talked for a while about everything that happened since she had passed, where she found out some things that caused her to wish harm on a few others. It was a few hours of this when the feast that happens every time a new person arrives had officially started.

When they were getting ready to head to the dinning hall Frigga stopped her son from leaving. Loki turned to look at her questioning. "Mother? What is it?"

She smiles softly, "Give mother a kiss, my dearheart."

He froze, not expecting her to want a kiss from him. After a second, he smiles. Frigga watched as her youngest son leaned down and kissed her on the cheek for the first time in decades.

Frigga still remembered the last time he did so. It made her blood boil. Some immature children decided that because Loki still kissed his mother he was a babe instead of the growing boy that he was. They were the same age as him, and yet they refused to have anything to do with someone who still loved their mother and showed it. Loki never said anything about it, but she knows it hurt him. Loki stopped kissing her after that, but those children still did not give him a chance.

They believed he was just too different from them.

Oh, how she wished she could have told him everything sooner. She knows that was just as much her fault as it was Odin's, but if she could go back to before Thor's failed coronation, she would have told her youngest what he needed to know long before everything.

She wished so terribly that she could go back and fix things for her sons. Her dearhearts. Her pride, and her joy. If she had the opportunity, she would. No matter if Odin would have wanted her to, or not.
