Angel held Husk's hand and helped him back to the bed, trying not to wince at hearing Husk let out a pained groan as he sat down on the edge of the mattress. Picking up Fat Nuggets and sitting him down on the mattress and chuckling as the piglet settled down at the foot of the bed. "So, how you feeling, Husk?" Angel asked, covering his mouth to cover up a chuckle as he saw just how fluffed up Husk's fur was from the blow dryer. He'd managed to get most of Husk dry, though there were a few areas that he couldn't reach or get fully dry, but that wasn't a big deal since Husk was at least clean.
"Ugh… I'm still sore as fuck," Husk moaned, "But… it does feel a bit better now. Not much else to do except wait for the flare to kick back up again." "Hey, come on, try to think positive," Angel smiled, "I know you're probably not gonna be too comfortable once this thing really picks up, but try to relax and enjoy yourself however much you can beforehand, okay?"
Husk just looked up at Angel with tired eyes; he tried to smile, but a sudden twinge in his back and shoulders quickly killed it. Angel sat down next to Husk, gently rubbing his back before carefully taking his left wing in his hand. Husk let out a shudder as Angel started running his fingers through his feathers, carefully removing loose and detached feathers with one hand while the remaining two gently massaged its length.
Husk let out a sigh, moaning as Angel's lithe hands made their way across his wing, preening him and sending delightful shivers through his body. The pain dulled the pleasure significantly, but it was there, sending conflicting thoughts through Husk's mind; he was torn between leaning into Angel's touch and enjoying it while he could and getting settled in the bed to mentally prepare himself for what was to come.
Husk let out a slow, heavy breath as Angel gently laid his wing down and moved over to work on the other one. Husk groaned as Angel started running his fingers through his plumage. Husk's cheeks flushed as he reached over, grabbed one of Angel's throw pillows, and placed it over his lap, earning a soft chuckle from the spider. "Shut it," Husk grumbled, "Just do what you gotta do so I can lay down… please." Angel smiled and nodded, leaning over and gently kissed Husk's shoulder.
"It's alright, Husk. Just let your body do what it needs to do. I've pretty much seen it all when it comes to… well, you know. So, trust me when I say you're safe here with me." Husk let out a soft whimper, feeling his cheeks flush a little deeper as he said, "I've heard that one before… several times. Only two people have ever said it and truly meant it."
Angel looked at Husk with sympathy; in a way he knew how Husk felt. He knew what it was like to be told one thing just to have them renege at the worst possible time and ruin everything. But the way Husk said it implied there was something deeper to it, something far more personal. There was just something about Husk's words that hit Angel deep, like there was so much more to it that Husk was too scared to say.
When Angel finished with his second wing, he helped Husk stand up so he could dry the rest of himself off, turning to look at Fat Nuggets so he wouldn't feel tempted to look at Husk. Once Husk was dry, he handed Angel the towel and climbed back onto the bed, pulling the covers over himself and laying his head down on the pillow with a tired, but relieved sigh. Angel went into the bathroom and tidied up a bit before coming back and laying down carefully next to Husk, reaching up and gently running his fingers through Husk's hair which earned a small smile from the shorter demon.
"Alright, come on, man," Husk chuckled, "Knock it off." "No way, I'm loving on you," Angel cooed, "Let me have a little fun." Husk just grumbled, feeling that familiar warmth returning as Angel pulled him close and started stroking his fingers through his hair with one hand as two of the other three gently rubbed his shoulders; the fourth arm just wrapped gently around Husk's waste to hold him close. Husk could feel Angel's smile, bringing a smile to his own face. Again, he didn't care about the pinkness in his cheeks, how close Angel was pressed up against him, or that it was a bit closer than he was normally comfortable with. He just tried to focus on enjoying the fact that Angel was there, comforting him and doing his best to offer support.
Exhausted from the events of the last few hours, Husk nestled into Angel's embrace, letting out a soft purr. He was still in a fair bit of pain, but it had subsided just enough that he thought he could at least try to get a bit of sleep, and Angel's bed was just too comfortable not to let himself try. He knew this respite wouldn't last, so he let his eyes flutter shut in hopes that sleep would take him, even if only for a little while.
Angel just smiled, still rifling his fingers through Husk's hair as he listened to the cat demon purr and make soft grunts and snoring sounds. He assumed Husk had fallen asleep, which was surprising, but not too surprising. He knew Husk had to be exhausted, so he'd just let him sleep for however long he could.
Fat Nuggets let out a soft squeak as someone knocked at the door and a voice called out softly, "Angel, Husk, are you in there?" Angel let out a soft sigh of relief as he recognized Charlie's voice. He very carefully backed away from Husk, pulling the blankets up to give the man a little more cover before walking over and peeking his head out the door.
"Hey, Char," Angel whispered, "What's up?" "Oh, well," Charlie leaned over and saw Husk lying in Angel's bed, seemingly fast asleep which made Charlie feel a little bit of relief, "Vaggie and I went into Husk's room to, um… tidy up… long story, don't ask. Anyway, while we were in there, we found Husk's phone and I just thought that maybe he'd want to have it with him. So," Charlie reached into her back pocket and handed Angel Husk's cellphone, "Here."
"Thanks, Charlie," Angel said with a smile, "I'm guessing you saw the broken booze bottle." Charlie nodded and sighed, saying, "I'm not sure where he got it, but we all knew that he'd probably backslide a little bit. I'm not going to bring it up, but if you could get him to talk about it, I think it'd really help." Angel just rolled his eyes, shrugged and nodded, saying, "Yeah, alright. If I get the chance, I'll ask him about it."
Charlie smiled and gave Angel a thumbs up before waving good-bye and skipping off. Angel smiled and rolled his eyes again playfully before heading back inside, closing and locking the door behind him before returning to the bed. He carefully placed the phone next to Husk, making sure that it was within arm's reach so he wouldn't have to strain to get it and Angel could easily grab it if he had to. As he pulled his arm away, he nudged Husk's shoulder, gasping as Husk let out a pained cry and quivered.
"Oh, shit, Husk," Angel panicked, "I'm so sorry, I'm so, so sorry!" Husk whimpered, trembling as he tried to speak, only managing a weak squeak before forcing it into something that resembled words. "S'alright," Husk cried, "It's… it's alright."
