Ladybug scampered downstairs, giggling when she found Cat in front of the oven door. "Ready to go patrolling?" she asked. Cat gave her a lazy grin. "I'm already on patrol, love. Gotta make sure the gingerbread cookies don't run away." "Mama will take them out of the oven, and we can have a snack when we return. Deal?" "Okay."

It was hard to leave the comforts of the warm spot, but Cat liked patrol. Ladybug pulled him outside by the hand. "Let's have a little race," she challenged. "A race? But what about our daily walk?" Ladybug rubbed her chin, thinking. "Think of this way," she grinned.

"Run, Cat, run as fast as you can,

for your Ladybug has been turned into gingerbread. See ya!"

Before her partner could respond, she took off. Cat grinned as he watched her go, he knew all of her hiding spots.

He took a roundabout way to the park, to look for bluebells. "There you are!" Cat meowed in surprise, as Ladybug suddenly appeared. "My Lady, I do so value my nine lives," he smiled, placing a paw on his heart. "Maybe I can help bring one back," her voice was delightful and happy, and she placed her hands on his cheeks. "Cat, look into my eyes," she begin. "Bugaboo, if this is a spell to give you all my love, you already have it." "What do you see?"

Cat was almost always ready with answer, when his eyes locked with hers. Had her eyes always been that Bluebell blue? Oh, goodness, it was hot out here. Now he knew what Taylor Swift was singing about when she mentioned the "Ocean Blue eyes".

He had to reboot his brain of floof a couple of times, but he finally gave her a dopey grin. "Your eyes," he smiled. Ladybug giggled, bouncing up on tiptoe to whisper to him. "Guess what?" "What?" he whispered back. "Buttercup!" she laughed. Cat blushed harder, with her use of his nickname.

"Come on, Miss Blue eyes, Paris needs patrolling." Slipping her arm into her partner, they headed off to patrol, lost in each other's eyes.
