"Where is he?" The Saint of Phoenix, Ikki, said to himself, arms crossed as one of his fingers tapped against the golden metal of his armor. His sentiments were mirrored by his comrades, all who were standing around the fire he had summoned.
"I wouldn't worry too much about Seiya, brother," The Saint of Andromeda, Shun, assured his less than patient older brother, "we both have seen how capable he is when it comes to facing the uncertain."
The blue-haired Phoenix lightly sighed. "It's not that I don't think he's able to come back, it's just that there are so many things that look so... baffling."
"Your brother has a point, Shun," Hyōga, The Saint of Cygnus, said to the green-haired Saint, looking away from the comforting warmth of the Phoenix's flames, "we we're all struck by one of Hades most powerful attacks that would have surely guaranteed our deaths. Yet, we are all here, walking and breathing as if nothing happened. What is going on around us leaves us with questions that need to be answered."
"I won't deny that we need to get answers as quickly as possible," The pacifist Saint replied, his optimistic attitude faltering for a brief second ",but right now, I don't think we'll be able to get them."
"Everyone! I have returned with Seiya!"
The conflicted Saints of Athena turned their heads, albeit a little too quickly, to the sudden announcement of their Dragon Saint, Shiryu.
Following not too far away, was the man the group has been speaking of, the Pegasus Saint, Seiya
"Sorry that I wasn't able to get here on time." The chestnut haired youth waved at his friends with an apologetic smile.
"We're just glad that you're okay, Seiya." Shun smiled, placing a hand over his heart as he exhaled to the return of his fellow Saint.
"Did you find anything out there?" Hyōga asked his brown haired ally for anything that would clear out the fog that surrounded them.
His frown became more visible when Seiya responded with a negative head shake. "Unfortunately, no. I just came across more of those shadow creatures."
"Let me guess, they were just as bloodthirsty as the rest we have encountered." Ikki said as a matter of fact.
"Yeah..." Was Seiya's short reply, causing the frustration of the Saints to grow more potent.
Hyōga's gaze hardened, his eyes darkening. "At this rate, we may not be able to make it back. If those monsters won't kill us, then hunger will."
The faces of the Bronze Saints grimaced at the harsh statement of the Cygnus. They may have bested legitimate gods and their formidable followers in the past. But outside of combat, they were constantly reminded that they were mortals born with limitations.
It was ironic how the things that were most likely to kill them were one out of the many components of mankind's fragile anatomy. In their eyes, the probabilities of surviving the wrath of a vengeful deity seemed higher in comparison.
The Pegasus turned to the quiet Dragon looking up at the sky, his deep green eyes staring deeply into the crimson red sky.
"Hey, Shiryu, is there something that caught your eye, or are you just deep in your thoughts?"
Instinctively, he looked back at his friends. "My vision hasn't returned, Seiya." He answered with a humorous smirk before his expression returned to seriousness. "Though, my other senses are noting that there is a potent force of Cosmos coming from the sky above me."
"Really?"
The remainder of the group soon shifted their attention to the blood red ether that was the sky, curious to see what it was that carried the power of the Cosmos.
"I do not know what it is, so I hope that it's noticeable for all of you." Said the blind Dragon.
His closest friends and allies did not say anything else besides a brief hum that expressed their acknowledgement. They took the words of Shiryu to heart as they viewed the sky in an almost deafening silence, their stable breathing and the crackling of fire prevented the atmosphere from becoming completely hushed.
Five seconds later, a sparkling dot flew through the darkness, illuminating the clouds in a streak of gold before it vanished like the wisp of a flame.
If the Bronze Saints weren't intrigued before, they were now after they witnessed the bizarre phenomena.
"That obviously isn't a natural occurrence; I felt someone's Cosmos from that star alone." Ikki said, his eyes breaking away from the gloomy colors of the sky.
"If that's the case then it must belong to someone we know." The Cygnus concluded with utmost certainty.
All eyes were drawn to the Saint raised in ice and cold.
"Who do you think it could possibly be, Hyōga?" Inquired the Saint of Andromeda.
The Cygnus shifted his sapphire blue irises back to the sky, his metal plated arms crossed over his torso.
It was then that he gave his answer. "The star that we just saw isn't an actual star, but a fraction of Saori's power."
The Saints of Athena looked at Hyōga with expressions of surprise.
"Do you truly think that Saori is doing this, Hyōga?" Pegasus asked Cygnus with a tinge of hope in his voice.
"I do, Seiya. There is only one ancient God that would bother helping us and that is Athena."
The fiery Phoenix shrugged his shoulders. "I strongly agree with you there, Hyōga. After all, this is Athena we're talking about. If there's one thing she's good at: saving our skins when the time calls for it."
"You prove a good point, brother." Shun assented with an optimistic smile.
"You'll have to forgive me for sounding pushy, but I believe it would be best if we follow the guidance of Athena before it's too late."
The urgency of the Cygnus was not lost on the young Saints of Athena. The chance of getting out of this dark uncertainty has presented itself, and they were not going to let it go to waste.
"Seeing as there is no other way, we might as well follow through." The Andromeda Saint commented with a firm nod.
"Not like we can form a more assuring path with what we have." The Phoenix Saint added in as he glanced at his younger brother.
"Then let's stop standing around and get moving!" The Pegasus Saint spoke to his allies. The confidence and determination coming from the depths of his soul.
"Right!" The rest of the Bronze Saints shouted in perfect unison.
...
"T-that power... where did it come from?"
The demonic-like eyes of Salem darted to all directions of the vast wasteland she ruled over, her hands gripping the dark railing of the castle's only balcony with a pressure so intense it made her already white knuckles become paler.
From what she presumed was an hour ago, an earthquake suddenly arrived, disturbing the stillness of the birthplace of the Grimm.
The Grimm Queen made a mad dash to her balcony whilst the ground she stood on shook.
But the moment her bare feet touched the bone chilling air of the place that was her tombstone, the rumbling stopped.
Confused and afraid, Salem could do nothing but reflect on what transpired.
She knew far too well that her bastard ex-husband did not have the guts to commit such boldness. But she also had to remember that he didn't possess an ego that could match the size of a small country. He was never the type to cause something as destructive as an earthquake to display dominance or control. He always played things with discretion and efficiency.
So if her ex-husband wasn't at play here, what is it that was disturbing the birthplace of her Grimm?
A light shimmered in the gloomy skies of the night, drawing the eye of the Grimm Queen. Her breathing hitched. What she saw was a golden star flying past the shattered pieces of Remnant's moon, disappearing faster than her blood-red eyes could blink.
She felt a shiver run down her spine. Her hands were placed at her sides as she took a few steps back from the powerful yet unfamiliar force that radiated from that singular star.
"What in the world was that!? The power that single star emanated was far too overwhelming for something so small!"
There was far too much going on within a short time span. Her head was doing its best to properly digest these never before seen occurrences.
She stared at the moon before turning her back on it.
"If I want to find out what's at stake here, then I'll need to act quickly…" Her gaze darkened, her blood red eyes glowing from the light of the moon. "Ozpin, you better pray that you're the culprit of this act…"
