"Third time in here this week."A brunette said, looking over at Elena and Hayley, who both smiled at her.
"I'm obsessed with the Gumbo, Jane-Anne."Hayley answered the woman.
"If you ask me, I'd say she's pregnant."Elena said and Hayley gasped at her in mock outrage.
"Says the girl who's actually pregnant."Hayley retorted playfully.
Elena and Hayley had grown close since they met, and their bond only seemed to grow stronger by the day. Elena had never told anyone but she was Bisexual, and she wasn't sure yet, but she knew she had some sort of feelings for Hayley, but she wouldn't act on them, not yet. The reason why Elena never told anyone was, mainly because Ella and their friends, while they accepted Homosexuals, Lesbians, and people who were Bi, they were always pushing Elena towards dating boys.
"The old ladies in the ninth ward say my Sister; Sophie, bleeds a piece of her soul into every dish."Jane-Anne glanced over at her Sister with an adoring smile on her face.
"We asked around the Quarter about our Families."Hayley said after a few minutes.
"And?"Jane-Anne asked.
"Nothing. Zero."Elena said sourly.
"We can't find a single person who remembers them."Hayley added, frowning.
"Because, girls, people like you two were run out of here years ago."Jane-Anne admitted.
Elena's eyes narrowed while Hayley tensed."What do you mean, people like us?"
Jane-Anne walked around the bar and to Hayley's side."In the Bayou, they call the Werewolves; Roux-Ga-Roux."Jane-Anne circled an area on the map of the Bayou."You head out there, you'll find what you're looking for."Elena and Hayley took the map and turned away, looking at it before sharing a glance."Be careful."Jane-Anne said, putting her hand on Elena's and Hayley's shoulders."It's the last place you'd ever want to go."Hayley looked at Jane-Anne, nodding her thanks before she left, dragging Elena along with her. Jane-Anne turned to Sophie, showing her the strands of hair that she was able to take without Elena or Hayley noticing.
Hours later, the brunette duo pulled up to a stop at the edge of the Bayou and Hayley picked up the map, looking at it before it suddenly caught fire and Elena's and Hayley's eyes widened in surprise.
"A Locator Spell?"Elena muttered and Hayley quickly threw the map out of her car before she put the car into reverse, only for nothing to happen, causing her to think there was a flat tire.
However, Elena, who had been around Bonnie enough to feel what Magic felt like, felt a Boundary Spell wash over them and around the car."Fuck!"Elena cursed as she got out of the car and looked around warily.
"What?"Hayley asked as she also got out of the car."It's just a flat tire, Elena."Hayley said.
Elena shook her head before her eyes narrowed as people came out of nowhere form the mist but before she could bring her new found Magic forth, she felt another Spell wash over her and Hayley, who had looked terrified at seeing the group of people appear out of the fog, before everything went dark.
"I never thought I would be kidnapped by Witches."Elena said as they sat in underground tomb."I mean, I've been kidnapped by Vampires, but I never thought about Witches, since they're all about Nature and all that."She added when Hayley looked at her in confusion."Although, by saying that, and considering what I am..."Elena trailed off.
"Well, to be honest, I never thought about that either. Vampires are understandable, but you're right. Witches don't do this sort of thing."Hayley said, completely agreeing with Elena."So, got any ideas about what they want from us?"
"No, not really."Elena said, shrugging her shoulders."I mean, I'm more of an abomination then Vampires are, I guess, so maybe they want to bring Balance to Nature by killing me and my unborn child."Elena's hand fell to her stomach and a worried look appeared in her eyes.
Hayley's eyes hardened."I am not going to let anything happen to you, Elena."Hayley said protectively and Elena looked at her in shock."Don't look so shocked. You're my friend, Elena."
Tears formed in Elena's eyes."Thanks Hayley. No one's ever really cared about me, so it's nice to hear that someone does, and they're not just doing it for someone that isn't me."Hayley moved over to her and pulled her into a side hug.
"I will always protect you."Hayley promised her.
"And I will do the same, Hayley."Both girls smiled at each other.
They looked at the entrance sharply when they heard footsteps and they glared at the group of Witches, who walked towards them calmly and confidently. Two of them grabbed Hayley and pulled her to her feet, dragging her away while the other two held Elena back. Normally, it would, physically be impossible for Witches to hold a Supernatural like Elena back, however, they had found a way to do so by forcing her to wear a bracelet that was designed to block a Witch's Magic. However, the Witches here had added a few more Spells to the bracelet, which now not only blocked Elena's Magic, but also her Werewolf and Vampire Strength.
"Hayley!"Elena exclaimed, concerned and worried as she watched as her new found friend, and possibly her new crush, was dragged away."Where are you taking her!?"
"Don't worry, she'll be fine. We're just running a few tests on her to see if it's true."One of the Witches stated.
"To see if what's true!? What's going on!?"Elena stated in a demanding voice.
"If it's true that she, like you, is with child."One of the older Witches said and Elena froze, her eyes going wide.
"And so what if she is pregnant? What's so important about it anyway?"Elena asked, confused.
"Jane-Anne believes that the baby is like yours."A Witch sneered at her and Elena, despite her shock, barred her fangs back at the Witch, causing her to take a step back.
"Careful, I'm not nice when people say things that will piss me off."Elena stated, her eyes narrowed in warning and the Witch scoffed."And I'll do more then just drain you dry. I'll kill everyone you love and make you watch as I do it."The girl's eyes widened and she paled, causing Elena to smirk widely at her before she sat back down and watched the group leave.
Nearly two hour passed when Hayley was finally brought back into the underground tomb and Elena was quick to greet her with a hug of relief, which Hayley returned."It's true."Hayley said softly as they pulled away and Elena looked at her questionably."I'm pregnant, but it should be impossible."
"Why? Do you know who the Father is?"Elena asked suspiciously.
Hayley licked her lips."I do. I had a drunken one night stand with him."Elena raised an eyebrow at her."It's Klaus Mikaelson."
"Oh fuck."Was all Elena could say."We're so dead."
"Yep."Hayley said, popping the p with a grimace on her face."Wait, we?"Hayley suddenly questioned Elena, frowning.
"My Baby-Daddy is Klaus' Older Brother's child and I never told him."Elena said weakly in a soft voice in case they were overheard by the Witches.
"Elena!"Hayley exclaimed, dumbfounded by this new information.
"I know, I know."Elena said as she ran her hand through her hair."I wanted to tell him, but I couldn't find him after we, his Sister; Rebekah and I, went back to Mystic Falls, and I had already made the decision to leave..."Elena bowed her head. Sighing softly to herself, Hayley sat down beside her and wrapped her arm around Elena's shoulder, pulling her into a side hug.
"New Orleans? What the Hell is Klaus doing there?"Rebekah Mikaelson exclaimed, looking at her Older Brother; Elijah, questionably.
"Evidently, there are Witches conspiring against him."Realisation appeared on Rebekah's face."So, knowing our Brother, this was a mission to silence and slaughter."
"Well, the French Quarter Witches are not a lot to be trifled with."Rebekah stated."You don't suppose they've found a way to kill him once and for all, do you?"The blonde asked, eyes narrowed in glee and brows furrowed as she raised her glass.
"Rebekah, in the name of our Family, you might try to dial down your glee."Elijah stated.
"What Family?"Rebekah spat."We are three distrustful acquaintances who happen to share a Bloodline. I for one hope they've found a way to make that traitorous Bastard rot."
"Good afternoon."Klaus said as he sat across from the Witch known as Agnes."Time for one more?"
"I have nothing to say to you."Agnes said softly, yet firmly.
"Oh, now, that's not very amiable, is it? You don't even know me."Klaus, smirking.
"I know what you are."Agnes said coldly."Half Vampire, Half Beast. You're the Hybrid."
"I'm the Original Hybrid, actually,"Klaus corrected Agnes."but that's a long story for another time."
"Where are you going?"Rebekah asked her Older Brother, frowning.
"To find out who's making a move against our Brother, and then..."Elijah trailed off as he came to a stop in the doorway."I'll either stop them, or I'll help them. Depending on my mood."Elijah then left, leaving Rebekah dumbfounded.
"I'm looking for someone. A Witch. Perhaps you might be able to help me find her."Agnes looked at him with narrowed eyes."Jane-Anne Deveraux."
"Sorry. I don't know."Klaus leaned forward.
"Well, now, that's a fib, isn't it?"A bit of fear formed in Agnes' eyes."Now, you see... I know that you're a true Witch amongst this sea of poseurs. So, enough with the fabrications. I've quite a temper."He said warningly.
Agnes pulled her hand out of Klaus'."Witches don't talk outta School in the Quarter. The Vampire won't allow it."Klaus lost his smirk."Those are the rules. I don't break Marcel's Rules."
Klaus looked as if he had seen a ghost."Marcel's Rules? Where do you suppose I might find Marcel?"Klaus asked, smirking.
A few days later, during the night, Elena and Hayley were dragged out of the underground Tomb by the Witches, which pissed Elena off because she had been sleeping and Hayley was in a worse mood then she was, seeing as the Witches had continuously preformed Spells on her all day, before they were forced to stop behind some Tombs.
"Bring them out!"They heard the familiar voice of Sophie call out to them and the Witches gave them warning looks.
"Remind me to kill Sophie."Hayley hissed to Elena.
"Oh trust me, I will."Elena replied back with a glare."I want her to suffer, so I hope you don't mind if I join you."
"I'd be happy if you could give me some pointers."Both girls grinned at one another before they scowled as they saw Sophie. However, they saw someone standing behind her, which caught their attention and Elena's eyes widened as her chocolate brown gaze met the shocked dark hazel eyes of one Elijah Mikaelson.
"Who the hell are you?"Hayley questioned Elijah in a sharp voice, noticing the way he had instantly recognised Elena, or at least knew her due to the fact that she was a Doppelganger.
"Hayley, it's ok."Elena said, smiling slightly."This is Elijah, Klaus' Older Half-Brother."
"Oh, the Noble One, right?"Hayley stated, although she already knew the answer and Elena, rolling her eyes at Hayley, nodded.
"Elena?"The girls turned their attention to the Noble Original in question.
"Elijah."Elena greeted him, feeling a little bit nervous under his gaze.
Elijah stared at her for a few minutes before looking at Sophie sharply."Give us a moment."He stated in a polite way, yet everyone could hear the threat in his voice.
Sophie nodded, glancing at Elena curiously but otherwise, didn't voice any protests, and the Witches that had brought the girls out, guided them back into the tomb with Elijah following behind them. Once the Witches left and Elijah was sure they had privacy, he turned to Elena with a questionable look on his face.
"I didn't sleep with Klaus."Elena stated calmly and Hayley couldn't help but snicker."I don't see how that's funny, Hayley."
"Oh, I find it funny because he looks like an Overprotective Lover at the moment."Hayley stated, grinning widely at Elena, causing the younger brunette to blush, as much as one could for someone who had not been given proper blood in the last couple of days.
"S-Shut up, Hayley."Elena stuttered out before Elijah cleared his throat to grab their attention, only to find him looking directly at Elena with a questionable look in his eyes."I didn't sleep with Klaus."She repeated her earlier statement.
"Elena, why are you being held captive by these Witches?"Elijah questioned, frowning at Elena.
"Damon, Bonnie, and Ella did something terrible to me."Elena said, watching Elijah's facial features, noticing how his eyes sharpened and Hayley inwardly shivered at the hidden fury and protectiveness in the Original's gaze."They did a Fertility Spell on me... It made me pregnant with your child."Elena whispered, stunning the Original.
"But Fertility Spells don't work on Vampires, although they will have a miscarriage."Elijah stated in realisation, having remembered that Rebekah had once tried, and brought the younger brunette into his arms in comfort, wondering how long she has been pregnant and how long it will be until the miscarriage, which was what worried him, and his grip on Elena tightened slightly.
"That's true, but I found out something that's made it possible for me to keep the baby."Elijah looked down at her, raising an eyebrow and allowed her too pull away from him as she looked up at him with a weak smile."Isobel and John weren't my Biological Parents. It turns out that Isobel was my Biological Half-Aunt due to being the Younger Half-Sister of Leila Astra née Flemming who was a Werewitch Hybrid and is my Birth Mother."Elijah was about to say something but Elena quickly continued speaking."I'm not just a Vampire, but I'm also a Witch and a Werewolf. I'm a Tribrid."
"How is this possible. My blood was what turned you."Elijah protested, frowning.
"I think it has something to do with being a Doppelganger."Elena shrugged slightly."Doppelgangers are unknown Supernatural Occurrences. No one knows much about them."The youngest brunette laughed softly to herself before looking at Elijah."I really am sorry, Elijah..."Elena said apologetically."I wanted to tell you, but I also wanted to leave Mystic Falls... And I know that they're weak excuses, but I couldn't find you, and I didn't want anyone to try and find me which is why I didn't leave a note... I'm sorry."Elena's voice almost cracked as she apologised again and tears formed in her eyes.
"Shh, Lovely."Elijah quickly pulled Elena back into his arms, kissing her on the head, missing the way Hayley was watching them."I understand. I'm not angry with you, Lovely."He mumbled into her hair.
After calming down, the two girls explained how they had been captured in the Bayou, followed by the Witches doing some tests on Hayley, which led to Hayley finding out that she was pregnant with Klaus' child, but she couldn't understand how it was possible, until Elijah explained his Family History and how this child could be Klaus' redemption.
However, their attention turned to the entrance when they heard approaching footsteps."I'm glad you feel that way"Elijah turned fully to see Sophie walking towards them."because we need your help."
"What, preciously, is it that you want, and what does it have to do with this young woman?"Elijah asked, making a small gesture to Hayley.
"We want to run Marcel and his Vampires out of town. Klaus is the key."Sophie stated boldly."Everything Marcel knows about being a Vampire, he learned from Klaus. Marcel trusts him, looks up to him. He won't see the betrayal coming."
"Yes."Elijah agreed coldly."Well, as I'm sure you're aware, my brother Niklaus doesn't like to be told what to do."
"That's why I brought you here."Elijah's eyes narrowed."Marcel drove the Werewolves out of town decades ago. Do you really think he's going to welcome a Werewolf carrying the baby of the Original Hybrid or a Doppelganger Tribrid and her baby, who is carrying your child,"The trio was shocked that Sophie knew who the Father of Elena's child was, considering the fact that they had been keeping their voices low so that human ears couldn't hear them, yet somehow Sophie knew. Elena placed her hand protectively on her stomach and Hayley openly glared at Sophie while Elijah partly hid both girls behind him."into the neighborhood? Convince Klaus to help us, and no one has to know about the newest members of the Original Family."
"That sounds remarkably like blackmail."Elijah said coldly.
"Like I said, I'm desperate."Sophie stated coldly through gritted teeth and they stared at one another before Elijah heaved a sigh.
"Well, then,"Elijah smiled coldly, yet it was a charming smile."I have my work cut out for me, don't I?"The Original started to leave, but paused as he came to stand next to Sophie."If anything happens to Elena or Hayley while I am gone, I will hold you personally responsible."He warned the Witch, who tensed but nodded, and then he was gone, most likely to find Klaus.
"You have no idea what you've just agreed to, you know that, right?"Elena asked sarcastically and Sophie glared at her."If you ask me, you're fucked and will most likely be killed."
"You heard me. I'm desperate."Sophie repeated herself, sounding just tired.
"Or stupid."Elena retorted, shaking her head."I have seen people try to gain the upper hand when it comes to Klaus Mikaelson, Sophie."Elena said knowingly."It always ends in bloodshed. So, if he doesn't kill you, he'll kill the people you love just to watch you suffer."
"Good thing everyone I love is already dead then, huh?"Hayley and Elena glanced at each other in confusion and disbelief but didn't question her.
It wasn't long before Elijah returned to the cemetery with Klaus."Klaus said as soon as he saw Sophie and looked between her and Elijah questionably, suspiciously."What is this?"
"He's all yours."Elijah said to Sophie."Proceed."
"You know you're famous in this town."Sophie stated, looking at Klaus, who pretended to smile innocently at her."Witches tell bedtime stories about the powerful Vampire, Klaus."Klaus' smile curved into a small smirk and he looked away, as if he was bashful for a few seconds before looking back at Sophie."We know that Marcel was nothing but an orphan, street rat til you made him what he is. And now he's out of control."Sophie shook her head."He does what he wants, kill who he wants. I'm gonna stop him. And you're gonna help me."
"That is why you brought me here?"Klaus asked Elijah.
"Hear her out."Elijah said calmly.
"I don't need to hear her out!"Klaus yelled angrily."I assure you, love,"He turned back to Sophie."there is not a thing on this earth that would make me waste even thirty more seconds of my time."He looked back at his Brother."Elijah! What madness is this?"
Elena and Hayley came back, with their, unwanted Witches for Guards behind them."Klaus, you need to listen to them."Elena stated, surprising Klaus.
"Well, if it isn't my favourite Doppelganger."Klaus said, and although it was said in a sarcastic way, even Elijah knew that his Brother meant that Elena was his favourite Doppelganger. It was because she, unlike Ella, Katherine, and Tatia, didn't play with people's hearts, and she was even willing to sacrifice herself in the Ritual, but Caroline had kept her away."What are you doing here?"
"These Witches have held us"Elena gestured to Hayley and herself."hostage to get to you."
"Oh?"Klaus said, raising an eyebrow before he chuckled."You're all out of your minds, if you think some liquor fueled, one night stand, no offense sweetheart,"he partly apologized to Hayley, who glared at him."or a useless, again, no offense love,"Elena shrugged, used to such comments."Doppelganger, means a thing to me."Elena rolled her eyes while Hayley just looked annoyed.
"Marcel may be able to keep us from practicing real Magic in this town,"Klaus looked back at Sophie."but as Keepers of the Balance we still know when Nature has cooked up something new."Sophie suddenly said before Elena could even start to form a sentence."For example, I have a special gift of sensing when a girl is pregnant."
"What?"Klaus breathed out.
"I know it's impossible."Hayley stated and Elena nodded in agreement with her.
"What are you saying?"Klaus asked, turning back to the brunette duo.
"Niklaus."Elijah stated, using Klaus' full name to get his attention."The girl is carrying your child and Elena-No. It's impossible."Klaus cut Elijah off.
"Especially for her!"He pointed at Elena, who rolled her eyes."I never... Brother, you know I'd never..."He looked back at Elijah, knowing fully well that Elijah was in love with Elena, and Klaus secretly accepted her because she wasn't like the other Doppelgangers.
"Obviously!"Elena exclaimed, rolling her eyes."You're not my Baby's Father, so relax."
"You believe this nonsense!?"Klaus exclaimed, looking at Elena in disbelief.
"Yes and I had it personally confirmed."Elena snapped and before Klaus could say something, Elena's eyes flashed yellow, causing him to freeze."Ella and I aren't Twin Sisters, she's actually my Cousin. My Mother was Isobel's older Half-Sister and she was a Werewitch Hybrid while my Father was a Werewolf."
"Elena is a Hybrid of her own kind. A Tribrid."Sophie spoke up, drawing everyone's attention back to her."And technically speaking, she's even more powerful than you, Klaus."The Hybrid looked back at Sophie, shocked and confused."I say technically because she's untrained as a Witch."The Witch shrugged.
"Brother, I said the same thing myself."Elijah spoke up, drawing Klaus' attention to him."Even about Elena's own pregnancy."
"This is a lie."Klaus, still in denial, snarled."You're all lying. Vampires cannot procreate."
"But Werewolves can!"Sophie spoke up and continued when Klaus didn't say anything."Magic made you a Vampire, but you were born a Werewolf."Klaus turned around to face Sophie."You're the Original Hybrid, the first of your kind and this pregnancy is one of Nature's loopholes. Elena being born was one of Natures Loopholes too."Everyone looked at her in confusion."Two Human Doppelgangers cannot exist at the same time, but Elena wasn't even born as a Human. She was born as a Supernatural while her cousin, Ella? She was born as a Supernatural Occurrence."
"You've been with someone else."Klaus turned around and launched himself at Hayley but was held back by Elijah while Elena stepped in front of Hayley protectively, eyeing Klaus."Admit it!"
"Hey!"Hayley moved around Elena to get closer to Klaus."Elena and I have spent days held captive in a freaking alligator Bayou, because they think that I'm carrying some magical miracle baby."Elijah glanced at her and Elena looked at her in awe for standing up to Klaus."Don't you think I would have fessed up right about now if it wasn't yours?"Hayley growled out through gritted teeth.
"My Sister gave her life to perform the Spells to confirm those pregnancies."Klaus turned back to Sophie."Because of Jane-Ann's sacrifice, the lives of these girls and their babies are now controlled by us."Elena looked at Sophie sharply."We can keep them safe, or we can kill them."Hayley's eyes widened while Elena froze and Elijah tensed up."If you take don't help us take down Marcel, so help me, Elena and Hayley won't live long enough to see their first maternity dress."
"Wait, what!?"Hayley exclaimed.
"You fucking bitch."Elena suddenly snarled and Elijah, who let go of Klaus, was quick to hold her back.
"Enough of this."Elijah said keeping Elena back with one hand while placing the other on Klaus' shoulder."If you want Marcel dead, he's dead. I'll do it myself."Elijah declared.
"No."Sophie said immediately."We can't, not yet. We have a clear plan that we need to follow, and there are rules."
"Now you've done it."Elena whispered to herself, slightly calmer now.
Klaus turned around to face them with a deadly look in his eyes."How dare you command me,"Klaus said icily."threaten me with what you wrongfully perceive to be my weaknesses! This a pathetic deception! I won't hear anymore lies."Klaus said to Elijah, walking past him.
"Niklaus,"Elijah stated, causing Klaus to pause and look back at him."listen."
Klaus looked at Hayley and let his gaze travel back down to her stomach, where he could hear a fast but tiny heartbeat before doing the same with Elena. Klaus' eyes widened momentarily before he looked back up into Hayley's wide eyes and Elena's strangely calm eyes. Klaus' eyes hardened as he looked back at Elijah, who smiled slightly.
"Kill her and the baby."Klaus said, referring to Hayley, shocking Sophie and Elijah."What do I care?"He said before leaving.
"Screw this."Hayley snapped."We're out of here."Hayley turned, grabbing Elena's hand in hers and went to leave.
The two Witches behind the girls stood in their way when she turned around to walk out after Klaus. Elijah walked forward as Elena and Hayley turned to look at him. He stared into their panic filled eyes before turning to look at Sophie.
"No one touches the girls."Elijah said softly."I will fix this."Elijah promised Sophie, although the Witch believed that he was saying that to Elena and Hayley then to her, but she nodded to the other Witches, who moved aside when Elijah turned back to walk off after Klaus.
"Niklaus."Elijah called out his Brother once he found Klaus.
"It's a trick, Elijah."Klaus stated.
"No, Brother. It's a gift."Elijah said, stopping and Klaus also stopped."It's your chance. It's our chance."He added, remembering when Elena asked him to be her child's Godfather.
Klaus turned around to face him."To what?"
"To start over, take back everything we lost, everything that was taken from us."Elijah explained."Niklaus, our own Parents came to despise us. Our Family was ruined, we were ruined. And since then, all that you have ever wanted, all that we have ever wanted was a Family."Elijah walked towards Klaus, who looked back at him with glassy eyes.
"I will not be manipulated."Klaus turned around to walk away once more, only for Elijah to be standing in front of him.
"So they're manipulating you. So what? With them, this girl and her child, your child"Elijah quickly added."live."
"I'm going to kill every last one of them."Klaus said, pushing Elijah and turned around again, only to find Elijah in his way again.
"And then what? Then you return to Mystic Falls to resume your life as the hated one, as the evil Hybrid? Is it so important to you that people quake with fear at the sound of your name?"Elijah questioned Klaus.
"People quake with fear because I have the power to make them afraid!"Klaus corrected Elijah."What will this child offer me? Will it guarantee me power?"
"Family is power, Niklaus."Elijah gritted out."Love, loyalty, it's power. This is what we swore to one another 1,000 years ago before life tore away what little Humanity you had left, before ego, before anger, before paranoia created in this person before me, someone I can barely even recognize as my own Brother."Elijah said as Klaus stared at him coldly."This is us, the Original Family... And we remain together; Always and Forever. I am asking you to stay here. I will help you, and I will stand by you. I will be your Brother."Elijah promised."We will build a home here together."Elijah placed a hand on Klaus shoulder."Save your child."
Klaus put his hand on Elijah's shoulder."No."He said softly before walking away.
"Well, he's doing what he does. Given a chance of happiness, Klaus runs in the opposite direction."
"Then let him run."Rebekah stated as she turned off the lamp."That child, if it's even his, is better off without him."
"He's not better off without that child, Rebekah, neither are we."Elijah retorted as Rebekah turned off another lamp.
"Darling, kind, Elijah, our Brother rarely brings us anything but pain."Rebekah said knowingly."At what point in your life will you stop searching for his redemption?"
"I'll stop searching for his redemption when I believe there is none left to be found."Rebekah ended the call with a silent sigh after Elijah got the last word in before turning around when she heard movement behind her and found Katherine standing there.
"I'd give you a play by play but you have the air of someone who's been lurking and listening."Rebekah said, knowing fully well that Katherine had indeed done just that.
"He'll come around."Katherine said with false sincerity in her voice."You know Elijah."She smirked at Rebekah."He won't stop until he's convinced Klaus to do the right thing."
"I know you consider yourself to be an expert in Brotherly Dynamics"Katherine nodded."but you don't know my Brothers as well as you think you do."
"You're wrong."Katherine retorted, pushing herself off the edge of the table."Klaus won't be able to walk away from this. He and I are the same."Rebekah's eyes narrowed as Katherine walked towards her."We manipulate, we thirst for power, we control, we punish, but our actions are driven by one singular place deep inside."Katherine explained, getting in Rebekah's personal space.
"And what's that?"
"We're alone."Katherine said truthfully, surprising Rebekah."And we hate it."Rebekah's eyebrows furrowed while the brunette glanced away from her."Tell Elijah to call me when he comes home."She smiled."I'll be waiting for him."Katherine started to walk past her.
"He won't be coming back."Rebekah suddenly said, causing Katherine to pause, but not look back at the blonde."Not since he now knows where Elena is."The blonde turned, watching as Katherine tensed at the mention of Elena."You know very well that he cares for her, loves her."Rebekah smirked, satisfied that she had the upper hand as Katherine turned to look back at her with narrowed eyes."He won't leave her alone in that City, not alone with Klaus, or to fend for herself."Rebekah said knowingly."Why do you think I really stuck around here? It was because of her. Elijah asked me to look after her, especially when he found out that she had turned off her humanity."
Katherine glared at her darkly."You care about her too?"
"Of course I do."Rebekah said as if it was obvious."She's my Best Friend and she's by far, the better, prettiest, and best Doppelganger out of everyone in her Bloodline because she's not like you, or Tatia, or even Ella."Rebekah stated, knowing that Katherine would catch onto what she's talking about, and watched as the Doppelganger, unable to say anything, stormed out of her house with a smirk on her face.
"Marcel and his Vampires are out of control."Sophie said to all of the Witches in the room."Something had to be done."
"And the solution is to bring in more Vampires?"Agnes questioned Sophie, her hands on her hips."What's worse, is you brought the Petrova Doppelganger Tribrid into all of this. She is just as dangerous as the Originals!"Agnes pointed at Elena, who was also in the room with Hayley by her side, and both girls had their arms crossed.
"These aren't just any Vampires, Agnes. They're the Originals."Sophie said, glaring at Agnes."And as for Elena,"Sophie glanced at Elena."I don't think she wants to risk taking on all of us, especially when she knows she can't win."The Tribrid glowered at her but kept her mouth shut.
"And what makes you think you can control the Hybrid?"Agnes asked, turning the situation back to Klaus.
"She can't."Everyone turned to see Elijah outside, leaning against the wall."Not entirely certain that I can, either,"Elijah walked into the room."but now that your Coven has drawn his ire, I have a question."Elijah stated."What prevents my Brother from murdering you instead of cooperating?"
Sophie went over to the wall and picked up a straw voodoo doll. She came back over and showed it to Elijah before throwing it on the ground before pricking herself with a pin. When Elena suddenly gasped softly and Hayley yelped in surprise, Elijah was by their sides in ten seconds, while everyone else turned to them in confusion, only to see Elena looking at her hand while Hayley's hand was bleeding.
"You damn little Witch Bitch."Elena growled out, realising what Sophie had done.
"The Spell my Sister performed, the one that got her killed, it didn't just confirm their pregnancies."Elijah turned to look at Sophie."It Linked me to Elena and Hayley."Sophie gestured to the duo."So anything that happens to me happens to them, which means their babies lives are in my hands."Elijah stared at Sophie blankly, yet Elena could see the rage as clear as day in his eyes."Klaus may not care about his own child,"Sophie had a smug look on her face now."but it's very clear what they already means to you. If I have to hurt them or worse to ensure that I will have your attention, I will."
Elijah took a step forward, a dark loop-side smirk on his face, revealing his lower blunt fang."You would dare threaten an Original?"
"I have nothing to lose."Sophie said with a shrug, looking as if she didn't have a care in the world."You have until Midnight to get Klaus to change his mind."Sophie said seriously.
After Elijah had left to do whatever it takes to keep Hayley and Elena alive, the girls were forced to go back to the underground Tomb, where they got no sleep since they were stressed out by what had happened in the last couple of hours. So, when they heard the gates squeak open, signalling that someone was coming inside, they tensed as they looked in the direction of the gates, only to relax when they saw Elijah standing there.
"What the hell?"Hayley questioned him, getting to her feet with Elena, who was relieved to see Elijah, following closely behind."You leave us in some filthy tomb over night? Has everyone forgotten that we're"Hayley gestured between herself and Elena."pregnant?"Sophie ducked her head while Elijah merely smiled at them.
"Release them to me,"Elijah glanced back at Sophie."as a token of good faith, the girl is caring my Family and Elena is carrying my Godchild, therefore they too are my Family."
"Can you not talk about us like we're not here?"Hayley growled out, causing Elijah to look back at them.
"Forgive us."Elijah said gently."Let them come with me. You've done what you've needed to do to keep them safe. Now let me do the same."Elijah, turning back to Sophie, promised."I can assure you there's no one stronger."Sophie stared at him calmly before nodding and turned back to Elena and Hayley when they stepped forward."Wait."Hayley glared while Elena raised an eyebrow at him."Here."He said, taking off his jacket and placed it around Elena's shoulders, causing Elena to raise an eyebrow at him.
"I guess chivalry is not dead after all."Hayley said and Elena grinned widely at her while she looked up at Elijah."Just really damn late to the party."With that said, she walked around Elijah and Sophie, gesturing at Elena to follow with a nod of her head, and Elena quickly followed after Hayley.
"If Klaus betrays us, Hayley will die."Sophie threatened Elijah."But if you and Klaus betray us, they both die. You have my word on that."She promised him.
"Then I will give you my word."Sophie raised an eyebrow at him."We will be your partners, we will end Marcel's reign but know this,"He looked over Sophie's shoulder, at Elena and Hayley."if anything whatsoever happens to those girls and their unborn children, you needn't fear Marcel, nor even Klaus, nor anyone more then you will need to fear me."Elijah threatened her."Goodbye."Sophie gave him a tight smile and watched as they walked away.
Once they were out of the cemetery and away from the prying eyes of the Witches, Elena suddenly surprised Elijah by tackling him into a hug, but he did return it, holding the young brunette close.
"Thank you, Elijah."Elena said, pulling back slightly to look up at the Original with a relieved smile.
"No thanks needed."Elijah stated, a small smile forming on his lips."Just one thing. Don't ever disappear on me like that again."
"Deal."Elena agreed.
"Great, now that that's over and done with, can we go?"Hayley asked, raising an eyebrow at the duo.
"Right, of course."Elijah agreed and led the girls to his car.
The next day, Elena and Hayley, who both had a much better sleep in comfy, even if they were slightly outdated, beds then they did in the Tomb, were pulling sheets off the furniture. However, one of the sheets was so dusty that when Hayley partly pulled it off, dust flew in their faces, causing them to cough. While Hayley waved her hands in front of her face, trying to get rid of the dust and get clean air into her lungs, Elena, who no longer had the bracelet on, raised her one of her, open, palms out in front of her and watched as the dust stopped moving before flicking her other hand and the window flew open, and with another flick of her hand, the dust went out the window.
"Are you two alright?"Elijah, who had come into the room, but had paused at the doorway when he had seen Elena's little trick, asked.
"Just dust."Elena said casually.
"This place is ancient."Hayley stated, glancing around.
"Yes."Elijah agreed."It should serve our purposes."He added gently before walking over to the girls."It's a sanctuary from our business in the Quarter. Right now, both of you are the most important people in this Family. You two need a good home."Elijah said to them."So, I am curious."He glanced between them."In all this time, has anyone asked either of you how you feel?"
"About having a miracle baby with a psychotic one night stand?"Hayley asked while Elena gave Elijah a weak smile.
"About being a Mother."A small smile formed on Elijah's face when he saw the looks of embarrassment on their faces.
"I-I used to think I was abandoned when I was born, but Elena has given me some sort of hope, since we're related"Hayley and Elena shared a smile when they glanced at each other."and my Adoptive Parents kicked me out the second I turned into a Wolf. So I don't really know how I feel about being a Mother because I never really had a good one."
"The same can be said about me."Elena said after a few minutes of silence."Miranda didn't even love me and she let me know that every day."
Elijah looked at them with a look of understanding and sympathy in his eyes."I will always protect you two. You have my word."Elena's smile couldn't help but grow, knowing Elijah meant what he said.
"And Noble Elijah always keeps his word."The trio turned to find Klaus leaning against the wall.
"Is it done?"Elijah questioned Klaus.
"As a matter of fact, yes. Your underhanded deal worked quite well. Marcel was only too happy to accept my blood"Elena instantly realised what they were talking about. Klaus had bitten one of Marcel's men and then later gave the man his blood."even as he accepted my heartfelt apologies. His man, Thierry yet lives, and I remain a welcome guest in the French Quarter."Klaus pushed himself off the wall and walked further into the room."My only concern now is this Coven of impudent Witches."
"I believe them to be honorable."Elijah stated."They did release Hayley and Elena to me."Elijah glanced back at Hayley, who had crossed her arms, and Elena, who had went on her guard the moment she saw Klaus."Although they haven't been entirely forthcoming."Elijah walked over to Klaus."Marcel obviously has something they need. They don't want him dead. There must be a reason why."
"In addition to the secret weapon, he uses to control the Witches, Marcel has assembled a small army of Vampires."Elijah said as pulled off more sheets that covered the furniture."Working together, we could destroy them from the inside."
"And what of Rebekah?"Klaus questioned Elijah."Has she stopped pouting long enough to join the fun?"
Elijah heaved a heavy sigh."She has made her disinterest quite clear."
"One too many times Daggered and shoved in a box, I gather, or perhaps she doesn't share your unwavering belief that I can be saved."
"Rebekah may surprise us yet."Elijah stated."After all, we swore the same vow."
"I hope she stays far away,"Klaus said before taking a sip of his drink."because in my desire to reclaim this town, to steal from Marcel that which he holds most dear, I have realized one massive vulnerability, one weakness that Marcel could exploit."
"And what is that?"Elijah asked, looking at Klaus, who started back at him emotionlessly.
"You."Klaus stated and stuck a dagger in Elijah's heart before Elijah could realise what he was about to do.
"Uh!"Elijah grunted as he fell forward, resting his hands on Klaus' shoulders as Klaus held him up.
"Forgive me, my brother."Klaus said as Elijah stared at him in shock."There is no power in love."Elijah glared."Mercy makes you weak. Family makes you weak. The Doppelganger makes you weak."Klaus stated as Elijah's head fell into the croak of Klaus' neck."If I am going to win this war, I have to do it alone."Klaus said, knowing that his, currently dead, Brother could hear him.
"Are you alright?"Hayley asked, coming to stand next to Elena, who had been standing outside by the pool.
"I'm fine. Just thinking."Elena stated as she crossed her arms.
"What about?"Hayley asked Elena curiously.
"The last few days, the last few weeks to be honest."Elena stated as she placed her hand on her stomach."But not everything that has happened was bad. I got to meet you, didn't I?"Hayley smiled at that.
"Yeah, you did, and no matter what happens, we'll in this together, right?"
