After going through the warp portal and catching up with Master Hand, the group of racers wondered what was going to happen as they were going through a zone made entirely of rainbows, coming out on the other side as they looked around, to see that they were at a tropical racecourse... specifically the Yoshi Falls racetrack, from Mario Kart DS, which also returned in Mario Kart Wii.

"Hey, look at that, it's my course!" Yoshi exclaimed as he turned to the others. "Wonder why Master Hand sent us here."

"Because this is where we're gonna start this whole shebang." Master Hand stated as he moved his fingertips around, facing the group. "I already got the cameras set to record everywhere Smash Bros has a stage at, so more or less, this will get all the coverage it needed. Plus, we're just gonna start with you four guys. And we'll rotate out occasionally with a new racer every time, or so."

"Wait, what do you mean, rotate out?" Dr. Hoshi asked as he eyed the floating hand.

"I mean that we'll keep it to a limited number, but at the same time make it so that it stays fresh." Master Hand pointed out.

"Sounds stupid. But unfortunately, it's something that's plausible for something like this," Dry Bowser remarked as he folded his skeletal arms together.

Toadette frowned as she turned to Dry Bowser. "Aw come on, can't you be happy for once?"

"Nope!" Petey Piranha laughed as he was speaking in Gilbert Gottfried's voice. "We always have to have inane bullshit here!"

"Yes, yes. Now get ready to race. It'll be simple, so it'll be two laps." Master Hand stated as he snapped his fingers. "Ready... go!"

And thus, they were off, the four racers, going past the finish line as they all drove over the wooden bridge. Yoshi and Dr. Hoshi were in the led, only to be smashed by a red shell from Petey, who pushed them to the side as he continued riding on the wooden bridge. Dry Bowser decided to take the faster route and go into the fast water currents, staying close to the bridge as he was in the lead.

"Oh come on! How come that's possible?" Toadette exclaimed as she puffed her face cheeks.

Dr. Hoshi rolled his eyes as he took the steering wheel from Yoshi, glancing at Toadette. "Are you really surprised? This place has water everywhere."

"Yeah, and not a single drop to drink." Yoshi complained as he used the triple set of mushrooms he gained, using it to push Petey and Dry Bowser as they retained the lead, only for Petey to chuck a giant Yellow Banana ahead, causing Yoshi and Dr. Hoshi to spin around and all off the stage.

Lap 1 was completed, and now only Lap 2 remained as Dry Bowser grabbed a Star power up, using it to speed right past the others, with Toadette grabbing a slingshot and firing some pebbles at the wheels on Dry Bowser's kart tires, flattening them. The skeletal reptile glared at the young mushroom girl as she stuck her tongue out playfully, going right by him as Petey barfed brown goop at the front, causing the road to get slippery as he slowed down, with Toadette getting stuck. All seemed well and fine until a Clubberskull, the worst possible thing to pop up, appeared on the middle wooden bridge, approaching the racers and smashing them into the air with its arms. After coming back down with a crash, the racers fixed up their karts. Yoshi and Dr. Hoshi took off, only to be tormented by Souflee enemies, who were swarming over them.

"Must... eat..." Yoshi remarked as he licked his lips, sweating.

"Yoshi, no! These things aren't what they seem!" Dr. Hoshi stated, but the green dinosaur didn't listen as he began grabbing the Souflees with his long tongue, gulping them down.

Toadette came back, using the power of a star as she chucked a Boomerang item at the two dinosaurs, causing them to be knocked up as Toadette passed them, going over the wooden bridge as she did several poses, going back down as she approached the finish line. Unfortunately, she accidentally ran over a Cucco chicken from the Zelda series, with a series of Cuccos peeking her violently as she passed the finish line. Dry Bowser used a POW Block to cause everything to bounce, with him getting 2nd place, as Petey was using as many mushrooms as possible, crossing into third. Yoshi and Dr. Hoshi came in last place, at 4th, having lost the race.

"Damn... we lost on my own race course." Yoshi remarked with a frown as he shook his head.

Dr. Hoshi murmured as he glanced at Yoshi. "I told you not to bother with those Souflee creeps. But no, you just had to let your appetite get to you."

"Well, seeing as how you lost, you're gonna have to rotate out." Master Hand stated as he moved his fingertips over Yoshi and Dr. Hoshi. "Sorry that you won't be able to race in a fanfic named after you."

"Oh shut up." Yoshi grumbled as he folded his arms, shaking his head in disappointment. "This just sucks. It couldn't get worse."

"Trust me, you don't want to know what the author is gonna do with you." Dry Bowser remarked as he was fixing up his kart, with Toadette enjoying her victory after getting rid of the Cuccos, with Petey doing a victory dance.
