It was the first day back to school. Just mere months after the tragic loss of their parents. It was during the grieving that things had changed. Jeremy began using drugs and alcohol, Elena would spend most of her time in the graveyard, and Eliza would be training.

She prepared herself for the supernatural coming. She trained with crossbows, stakes, pressurized wrist spikes, and how to fight hand to hand combat.

She also did some major life changes. She use to have long, to the knees, hair but decided to chop it off so that it now sat at her shoulders. She also spent time with Sheila Bennet and gathered a collection of protection symbols that she had tattooed on her body.

She also prepared back to school gifts for her siblings and hoped they would take her advice to never take them off.

She had chosen to wake up earlier then everyone and began cooking breakfast. She had a small stack of pancakes, toast, and fresh fruit waiting on the kitchen island along with a fresh pot of coffee with 3 waiting cups.

Jenna was the first to stumble into the kitchen her eyes widening at the sight of everything set up.

"Morning aunt Jenna,"

"Morning Liz, did you do this?,"

"Yep got up early and figured we all needed a good way to start the day, which reminds me here this is for you," Eliza replied handing her a small gift box.

Opening it Jenna gasped in surprise inside the box was a special ring, the ring use to belong to her sister. It was simple with a small blue gem, nothing too fancy, that contained vervain.

"I don't know what to say, thank you so much Eliza," Jenna replied tears in her eyes as she hugged her niece tight.

Next to stumble into the kitchen was Elena. after making a cup of coffee and pushing it into her sister's hands she guided her to the food to make sure she ate.

When Jeremy came in next she handed him his coffee and said she would drive him in the impala to school if he ate something before they left which he non verbally agreed to.

When they were a bit more alert she handed Elena and Jeremy their gift boxes.

"I know things have been tough around here for us but this is my way of saying i love you both, I will never judge you, and I hope that you never take these off," with that said they opened their gifts.

"Oh Eliza it's beautiful of course I will always wear it," Elena gushed about the small heart shaped locket she now held.

"It's great sis thank you,"Jeremy quietly thanked her as he slipped the leather bracelet with a single solid black bead.

"I am so unprepared, ok does anyone need lunch money?," Jenna asked holding out two ten dollar bills.

"I'm good,"

"Me too," Eliza answered as Jeremy took the money.

"Don't you have a meeting today?,"

"I'm meeting with my thesis advisor crap now, ok I will see you all tonight have a good day," Jenna called out as she went to rush out.

"Briefcase!," Eliza yelled out so Jenna wouldn't forget her paperwork.

"You ok?,"

"Don't start," Jeremy snapped at Elena as he grabbed his school bag and headed out to the Impala to wait for Eliza.

"Give him time Elena you can't force him to open up and be better as fast as you did,"

"But,"

"No but's about it Elena now Bonnie is outside she honked a second ago I will see you at school,"

"Ok sis I understand," Elena agreed as she too grabbed her bag and headed out to her ride.

Quickly cleaning up Eliza made sure everything was put away before she grabbed her bag and headed out. Making sure the door was locked as they all left she smiled seeing Jeremy already in the front seat. She knew he would grab her car keys and have it ready it wasn't the first time they would often take drives together to just escape for awhile.

As she got in the car she turned her head and gave Jeremy a small smile which he returned. He always liked Eliza more then Elena, she wasn't judgmental, she never tried to mother him, and was always there if he needed someone.

Before she started the car she leaned over to the glove box and opened it removing a small bottle before closing it. Turning to Jeremy she handed him the bottle. Looking down he snorted at the fact it was eye drops, she knew him so well.

Starting the car Eliza drove them towards school ready to face whatever came their way.
