Later on in the day Eliza sat in the grill at the bar sipping on a shot of Jack Daniel's to take some of her tension off when she felt a hand on her back and a 'Hey sis' behind her.

She waved back at Jeremy as he went up to Vicki.

"Vicki what are you doing here?,"

"Fighting with Robert about my schedule, you think being ripped up by a rabid animal would merit a extra sick day,"

"Are you feeling ok?,"

"I hurt,"

"Well the doctor gave you something right?,"

"The kid stuff, nothing with a o in it, I think they were on to me,"

"Here knock yourself out literally,"

"Thanks Jer," Vicki sincerely said as she popped two of the pills he handed her.

Eliza smirked she told him so. She told him it would work out he just needed to wait for the right moments to show her way he was better then Tyler. Also know as future mr supernatural.

"So you going to watch the comet later?,"

"Hadn't really thought about it, but I could be talked into it. I'll meet you out there in a few," she agreed just as Tyler walked up.

Jeremy stepped away stopping by his sister again kissing her cheek with a big smile on his face.

Eliza headed outside after she finished her drink and leaned against the wall by the front doors of the grill. She didn't feel like interacting with anyone she just wanted a few minutes to herself.

Not far from her she could see her sister, with as usual Bonnie, Caroline, and Matt with him lighting her candle. She looked around so many happy smiling faces so unaware of the dangers that lurk around them. She felt a presence to her right throughout her musing and turned finding it to be Jackie. She smiled and leaned against her. She could handle this she knew Jackie would protect her through her roughest moments when she let her walls down no matter for how long.

She trusted Jackie, she was the only supernatural besides Stefan she wouldn't stake if she had the chance. Though with Damon it was a fifty fifty shot depending on what he did or her mood towards him.

Smiling she saw Stefan sneak up on Elena and discretely have her light his candle.

"Hi,"

"Hi," was all she would say to him before turning slowly walking away.

She stopped a few feet away not sure what to do or how to handle this with Stefan.

Nudging Jackie Eliza nodded towards them.

"Awkward alert."

"Major," she giggled.

"You know that comet has been travelling across space for thousands of years all alone,"

"Yeah Bonnie says it's a harbinger of evil,"

"I think it's just a ball of snow and ice trapped on a path that it can't escape. And once every 145 years it gets to come home. I'm sorry about yesterday I wasn't myself,"

"You seem to spend a lot of time apologizing,"

"I have a lot to apologize for. Yesterday that wasn't about you,"

"You didn't tell me you had a brother,"

"No I said i had no siblings I spoke to. We're not close it's complicated,"

"Always, he told me about your ex Katherine,"

"What did he say?,"

"She broke your heart,"

"It was a long time ago,"

"When you lose someone it stays with you always reminding you of how easy it is to get hurt," as Elena spoke Stefan moved to stand in front of her.

"Elena,"

"It's ok Stefan. I get it, you have no idea how much I get it. Complicated brother, check, complicated ex, check, too complicated to even contemplate dating, double check. It's ok we met and we talked and it was epic. Then the sun came up and reality set in," Elena as she finished her speech lifted her candle blowing it out and heading towards her sister.

When she got close Eliza opened her arms letting Elena claim a hug after what look like a really deep moment. As she hugged her she looked over her shoulder and locked eyes with Stefan and mouthed to him 'I'll take care of it' to which he nodded his thanks.

Twenty minutes later Eliza, Elena, and Jackie made their way back into the grill ready to head to a table when Jeremy came up frantic.

"Has anyone seen Vicki,"

"You're her stalker you tell us." Tyler snarkily said as Eliza smacked him on the arm.

"i can't find her," as Jeremy said this Eliza got a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.

"She probably found someone else to party with sorry pill pusher guess you've been replaced,"

"What's with the pill pusher?,"

"Ask him,"

"You doing this right now?,"

"Are you dealing?,"

"She's never going to go for you,"

"She already did over and over and over again,"

"Yeah right,"

"You slept with Vicki Donovan, I mean Vicki Donovan slept with you,"

"What's wrong with that Caroline my brother is a good looking guy or are you just sad he never looked at you,"

"There's no way,"

"And I didn't even have to force her into it,"

"What the hell is he talking about Ty?,"

"Nothing man just ignore him he's a punk,"

"How about all of you shut up and help me find my sister,"

"I'll check the back," Bonnie offered taking off.

"I'll check the square," Matt said waiting for other volunteers.

"I'll come with you," Jeremy offered.

"Oh no no you are coming with me," Elena demanded.

Eliza ignored that family drama moment and turned to Jackie.

"We'll check around here," she yelled to Matt.

She gave Jackie a 'you know what to do' look waiting for her best friends super hearing to kick in.

"Upstairs, the roof," Jackie said after a few minutes.

Nodding Eliza and Jackie made their way to the door to the stairs to the roof. She knew she had to be careful she didn't know what to expect. So she stopped midway up and pulled a pressurized stake gun from the back of her jeans.

Jackie gave her a 'what the hell look' and she just shrugged always being prepared. Heading upstairs they reached the roof door and heard voices behind it. She recognized Stefan and Vicki, and if she had to guess Damon was there too.

"Not bad have you been eating bunnies?,"

"Let her go,"

"Really ok," Damon said acting like he was going to throw her backwards.

"No no," Stefan begged as Damon brought Vicki back forward tossing her at Stefan's feet.

"Oh relax I don't need her to be dead but you might. What attacked you the other night?," Damon asked attempting to break the compulsion he still didn't know that Jackie had done.

"I don't know an animal,"

"Are you sure about that?,"

"What else could it have been?,"

"Think, think about it really hard," Damon at that point had bent over to be eye level to Vicki not seeing the roof door open and Eliza raise her gun.

Taking aim she did what she didn't think she could, she shot Damon in the shoulder, and the stomach.

"Fuck what the hell," he cursed as he fell over clutching his shoulder.

"Should watch your surroundings Damon," Eliza taunted as she stepped forward.

He was shocked that it was little Elizabeth that had shot him.

"Jackie take Vicki downstairs,"

"On it, and will help her clean up,"

"Good, now Damon that was stupid of you. If she ever remembered you would put us all in danger. And I mean all of us. You, Stefan, Jackie, and me. You see i am no doppelganger I am Elizabeth. I am the girl whose heart you shattered for the likes of Katherine Pierce. The same woman who brutally murdered me for being so close to you both,"

"What do you mean? I was told you left town,"

"No, she killed me before the founder's party. It's why only my mom and dad's names were on the first guest list,"

"I didn't know,"

"Save it. It was always Katherine. Even when we were engaged, when you were the only man in the world who I loved at the time you chose her,"

"I'm sorry, please let me make it up to you,"

"Too little too late,"

"Lizzie put the gun down," Stefan gently walked towards her trying to coax her to put it down.

"Only when I know he wont attack me for shooting him,"

"Never, you deserved to get those shots in on me for how I treated you," Damon groaned as he finally pulled the bullet out of his stomach and stood up.

"Ok then," she felt better after he agreed to not attack her and lowered the gun putting it back where she had it.

"Well at least this time I know you can protect yourself," Stefan said not surprised that she was prepared this time around.

"I'm going back downstairs, you finish with him," Eliza said turning and heading back downstairs to the grill.

When she got down there she found Jackie right away leaning against the wall next to the door.

"Handled?,"

"Yep, I wiped her of the events of tonight had it played out like she took too much medicine and ripped her stitches,"

"Thank you Jackie, wanna get out of here,"

"Hell yeah," she agreed as they headed out to where Eliza parked the Impala.

She dropped Jackie off at her house first before heading home.

When she arrived and got inside she found Jenna at the kitchen Island with Jeremy's stash.

"Cracking down more?,"

"Yup,"

"Good luck and good night aunt Jenna," Eliza said before she headed upstairs to get some sleep before her trip with Jeremy tomorrow.

Entering her bedroom she toed off her ankle boots not caring that they weren't put away. Grabbing her pajamas she headed into the washroom to change and take off her makeup.

Elena on the other hand decided to take a chance. After all the drama tonight she decided to go find Stefan. Making her way to the boarding house she took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Hey,"

"Would you like to come in?,"

"Comet's actually this way," Elena said pointing behind her before backing up to the mini brick wall the cased the front porch.

Stefan smiled as he slowly walked out to join her.

"Sorry for barging in, especially after earlier,"

"No, no I'm glad you're here. The way we left things, I didn't like it,"

"So the thing is, I got home tonight planning on doing what I always do, write in my diary. Like I have been since my mom gave me one when I was ten. It's where I get everything out, every feeling, it goes in this little book that I hide on the second shelf behind this really hideous ceramic mermaid. Then I realized that i'd just be writing things I should probably be telling you,"

"What would you write?,"

"I would write, Dear diary today I convinced myself that it's ok to give up. Don't take risks. Stick with the status quo, no drama. Now is just not the time. But my reasons aren't reasons, they are excuses. All I'm doing is hiding from the truth, and the truth is that I'm scared Stefan. I'm scared that if I let myself be happy for even one moment that the world's just gonna come crashing down, and I don't know if I can survive that,"

"Do you wanna know what I would write?," at her nod he continued.

"I met a girl. We talked. It was epic. Then the sun came up and reality set in. Well this is reality. Right here," and with that it hooked Elena and slowly they came together in their first epic kiss.
