"This is a shame. We're kindred spirits abandoned by the women we love. Unrequited love sucks. Sounds like I got a lung," Damon said as he pulled the stake from Ric's chest.

"Which means I get to sit here and watch you die," Damon tossed Ric's body on the floor walking away from him as he tossed the stake on the chair nearby,

Ric clutched his chest taking his last breaths as Damon grabbed his bourbon sitting on the couch to watch him die.

Stefan entered the room not long after Damon killed Ric.

"What happened? What did you do?,"

"Do what? He attacked me,"

"Damon,"

"All I did was tell him the truth. His wife didn't want him anymore. Not my fault he couldn't handle it,"

"Like you've been handling Katherine?,"

"I'm handling it fine. You know what? Isobel came to me, she found me. And if she's related to Elena, which means she's related to Katherine. Maybe Katherine sent her to me,"

"Stop it. You don't have to keep looking,"

"It can't be a coincidence that Isobel sought me out, it can't. I assume you'll take care of this?," Damon stood heading to bed leaving Stefan with Ric's body.

Stefan stayed seated near his body. He was disappointed in Damon, and not sure how to tell Eliza that her aunt lost the man she was falling for, and Elena lost her step father.

Suddenly Ric's fingers twitched. Stefan was perplexed what was happening. Next thing he knew Ric shot up alive all of a sudden.

"What happened? What's going on?,"

"You were just..did Damon turn you?,"

"No I.. I went for him and then he stabbed me,"

"No, no you must have vampire blood in your system. Somebody slipped it to you?,"

"No it's, it's something else,"

"Then how?,"

"I..Isobel," Ric looked down at his hand at the ring that his wife had given him.

"This ring protected me,"

"That's impossible,"

"I know," Ric stood shakily and brushed himself off.

"I'm gonna go, thank you Stefan for caring,"

"Be safe,"

"You too," he said as he took off.

Eliza stood on her porch in a white night gown with a blue shawl around her shoulders. Barefooted so she could feel the Earth and the power of the ground. She couldn't tell anyone what she had discovered just moments ago when she was in her bedroom.

She had been dressing when the lights had begun to flicker. She assumed it was the power glitching. Suddenly though she felt a shot of pain rush thorough her body knocking her to her knees.

Nearby in her full length mirror she could see everything that was happening. Her body shuddered, her back arched, and her eyes turned blue. When she looked again she had a aura of blue surrounding her, and black veins covering her body.

Then as fast as it happened it was gone. She had collapsed afterwards. It had taken her a few moments to get her bearings to stand.

When she did she felt this power rushing through her and then as if they were in the same room as her she heard a voice in her head. It was what it said that surprised her.
