The next day the Mackenzie household was somber. Eliza and Henry were up first so she began cooking breakfast for everyone while Henry readied the morning bloods for himself, Harper, and Jackie.

Eliza had drank her daily vial of Nik's blood and had her first cup of coffee to wake up her senses. She was in the middle of cooking the eggs, bacon, and sausages when Matt's tired body flopped down in the chair at the table.

Henry poured him a cup of coffee and passed it to him along with the milk and sugar to have his morning coffee as well.

The next body to slump into a chair was Jackie even with being a vampire she could wear out. Henry gave her her mug of blood and the keys to the motorcycle in the garage so she and Harper could go hunting they needed the fresh air, space, and time to themselves today.

Harper entered the house from the back door having moved into the guest house to keep himself isolated while he got use to being around humans again. Henry handed him a mug and he went and joined Jackie at the table.

Last but not least was Jeremy. Rubbing his eyes Eliza chuckled seeing him barely awake as he joined them she finished putting the food into bowls and began bringing them to the table.

Sitting down between Matt and Jeremy as Henry took the last empty seat on the other side of Jeremy Eliza smiled at her chosen family and so they each began to take eat what they for breakfast.

Jenna showed up an hour later eyebrow raising at the gathering in the kitchen and shook her head not surprised at the fact Eliza had gathered such a large family.

Henry stood pouring Jenna a mug of coffee as well and giving her his seat as he had to leave to handle family business with the old caretaker. He promised though to be back before the funeral. Kissing Eliza's head he headed out.

Matt and Jeremy were next to leave to go to school. Matt took Jeremy as it made sense since they were both going there.

Jackie and Henry left next to go hunting telling her to be careful or she would kick her ass.

Jenna left too thankful college was almost done and then she could focus on the family and taking up Eli's offer to be turned.

Eliza cleaned up before grabbing the keys to her Impala to go to yet another council meeting. Honestly they were becoming tedious but it was the best way to keep track of what they knew.

As Eliza entered the council hall she was happy the first ones she bumped into was Damon and Liz Forbes.

"Morning Damon, Liz,"

"Morning Eliza,"

"Morning baby girl," Damon said pulling her closing kissing her cheek.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news already but there was a disturbance the hospital last night. Some of the supply was compromised,"

"Compromised? You mean stolen?,"

"We almost missed it. The inventory records were altered. But when the night manager was questioned he had no recollection of changing them,"

"Meaning the vampire who stole the blood used mind control to hide the theft," John said as he turned from where he stood at the drink cady.

"I know what you meant,"

"We wouldn't have noticed if John had not alerted us to recent discrepancies at the neighboring blood banks in the county,"

"How lucky for us we have John,"

"We're stepping up security at the hospital, giving the guards vervain to prevent this from happening again,"

"Might I offer a suggestion? Why don't Damon and I put our heads together? We could track down whoever's doing this,"

"Truthfully, I could use the extra hands. Is that something you'd be willing to do?,"

"Well of course. I mean if it will help?,"

"I will too Liz plenty of free time to help look as well," Eliza said glaring at John.

"I think we'll make a good team. Don't you Damon?,"

"John whatever I can do to help keep this town safe. Even if it means spending time with you, at least I'll have Eliza to even things out,"

"Damn right," Eliza smirked wrapping her arm around his waist.

An hour later Damon and Eliza headed to the Salvatore house after the council meeting they wanted to spend time together and figure out a plan to get around John.

They had only been there a hour when a knock sounded at the door. Damon chose to answer it so Eliza wouldn't have to get up from her cozy nest she made on the couch.

Opening it he was surprised to see Anna standing on his stoop.

"i suppose I should be grateful. You learned how to use the bell,"

"Well Eliza would be disappointed if I didn't behave, plus I love her brother so two birds one stone,"

"I heard that," Eliza yelled from where she sat.

"Hey Eliza!," Anna greeted waiting for Damon to invite her in.

"I'm here on behalf of my mother,"

"On behalf of or in spite of?," Damon snarked as he let Anna in as she closed the door behind her as they made their way into the living room where Eliza was curled up on the couch.

"I'm sorry about what the other vampires did to Stefan and Harper. Abducting him, torturing him. It wasn't suppose to go down like that,"

"You're playing house with half a tomb of really pissed off vampires, what did you think was going to happen?,"

"He has a point you should have put down Fredrick the moment you had the chance, now he is gone cause I killed him. I know i was going to kill them all but finding my parent's killed broke me down, now I'll have to have Eli or Nik come back to help take them out if we can't,"

"My mom is devastated they tried to overthrow her,"

"Why isn't she here telling me this?,"

"She doesn't really do apologies,"

"Well that's a coincidence I don't really do forgiveness so run along. If you're going to continue playing house with your vampire pets you might want to stop robbing the blood bank dry because they're on to it,"

"I haven't been to the blood bank in a week,"

"Then it has to be the others," Eliza pointed out.

"The others are gone,"

"Well where did they go?,"

"They weren't cut out for this town, especially when they found out a Mackenzie lived,"

"Love how I scare vampires and yet I'm still trying to figure shit out myself,"

"You will baby girl,"

"After what happened with Stefan my mom kicked them out and they took off. It's just us now," Damon and Eliza shared looks and knew this wasn't good.

Eliza chose to leave an hour later taking off in her Impala she drove around when she saw Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie standing out front the school.

Parking she stepped out of the car and walked over wrapping her arms around Bonnie from behind.

"Welcome home girl,"

"Eliza!," she exclaimed turning around hugging her tight.

She didn't hate Eliza after all she was the one who had Greta help them, and had the guards rush them to the hospital trying to prevent what had happened.

"I'm so happy to see you,"

"Me too,"

"Hi Eliza,"

"Caroline, hey sis," she greeted the others.

"Anyways Major wardrobe confab needed ASAP. You need to help me pick the perfect dress for the Founder's court,"

"The Founder's court? Did I miss something?,"

"The Miss Mystic falls sis the thing mom signed us up for,"

"Oh,"

"The Founder's court. You know Miss Mystic falls. They announced it today, the three of us are on it,"

"Oh my god we signed up for that so long ago, I completely forgot,"

"Yeah, so are you dropping out then?,"

"They can't Caroline their mom is the one who wanted them to enter," Bonnie pointed out.

Eliza took the moment to slip her phone out of her pocket and texted Nik.

E: You need a tux

N: Why love?

E: Miss Mystic Falls court I'm a participant and need my handsome original on my arm

N: You just want eye candy

E: I live with the eye candy I need a proper gentleman for this not any of the kids around here

N: Wise ass, I will come home early for you love see you soon

Eliza smiled knowing she was going to have the greatest date of all at this event.

"Why are you smiling?," Elena asked her sister.

"Cause Nik is coming home sooner so he can be my date to the Founder's court,"

"That's good I know you miss him when he goes on business trips," Bonnie pointed out.

"Should invite Greta too I know she will like to spend time with us all i consider you and her my family I would want you here when we bury the others as well,"

"That means so much to me thank you Eliza," Bonnie said hugging her again.

Eliza bid the girls farewell and got back in her car heading to the graveyard to visit the Gilbert's and The Mackenzie's.
