PROLOGUE

The land of Zamar was a peaceful place, right until a civil war destroyed everything and the planet itself and then, the war was brought to the doorstep of the planet Earth where now five guardians of the power energems has to rise to defend us from the coming threat.
It all started because of the High Council's decision. Every generation, a family was always selected to be the caretaker of the power energems that gave Zamar life and light and prevented bloodshed. The previous generation had all passed on leaving nobody behind that could take the family's position. Hence, the High Council had to sit in judgment and decide who would be the next energem caretaker. The Volsem family was selected and their youngest, Lucio was taken to be the one to take care of the energem because of the carelessness and a tendency towards dark arts by Reus, the elder brother. Unknown to the High Council, this would later come to spark a war that would destroy Zamar from the inside out.
Reus got mad that he was considered unworthy to take care of the power contained within the energems. In secret, he began to plan and to scheme. If he won't be the caretaker, then Lucio won't either so he began to create an army; footsoldiers called Blackalls and two generals alongside his two daughters. The plan and his army complete, he attacked the Zamarians at night when they would be complacent and unable to put up much of a fight. When Lucio found out, he felt betrayed but he had to be proactive as Reus had gotten more dangerous during his years of training. He called for Mason, one of his best fighters, gained an escape pod for him and sent him away with all the energems so that the Zamarian army can then fully worry about taking on Reus and his army without worrying about the fate of the energems.
The energems disconnected, Zamar began to fall apart. But Lucio knew he had only one thing left to do. Unwilling to kill his brother, he faced him in battle and that became recorded as the greatest duel in human records but Reus cheated using his amassed black magic. With his dying breathe, Lucio sealed Reus, the Blackalls and his generals into the Eye of the Maelstrom, an otherworldly realm made for holding criminals like Reus. The only way they could be freed was with the powers of the energems or other alternative methods. But it was Lucio's hope that even if Reus found a way to break free of his seal, whatever planet Mason was taking the energems to would harness the powers and use it to fight back Reus and the darkness he represents.
At the end of it when Reus deflected and fought against the authority that cost him his freedom, he succeeded in breaking the seal. This led to a huge battle on the coast by nine rangers against this dark army. The rangers fell but they managed to seal Dark Overlord Reus away for the rest of eternity and also returned Reus to his prison alongside his dark army. During the battle, four Energems got lost but Lucio took the remaining Energems down to Earth to prepare against the second invasion of Dark Overlord Reus and his army and to also prevent what happened to Zamar.

Okay, so this is my first power rangers fanfiction. This is just to set the tone for the rest of the story. The first episode itself will drop sometimes this week depending on the kind of reactions, views, follows and reviews this story gets as I am hoping that you very good people will review. Now, to characters, I have the first five rangers readily available but I still need three more. I need the Crimson Galactic Ranger and the White Galactic Ranger.
