"Tell me again Pochi, why did I pick this option?" A teenager of about 17 years old said to the dog he was walking with as he completed his 15 kilometers run before his first day in second year of Kuoh Academy.

The teenager just groaned at that as he kept on in his running, sweat running down his face and gluing his shirt on his torso as he returned to his apartment building, stopping in one room below him and ringing the bell.

Waiting a minute the door opened and on the other side a stunningly beautiful woman with short silky blond hair, F cup breasts, long legs, and wearing a modern but quite nice fighting suit that would look right at home both in a corporation CEO or in a fashion magazine.

"Oh, just in time." The woman said, taking the big puppy inside her home. "Thank you for that again, Akashi-kunI just can't find the time to walk Pochi out these days."

"That is fine, Silk-san. I quite like Pochi and it is the least I can do considering the help you gave me last year." Akashi said and Silk gave him a stern face.

"Please try to not need extra classes this year again due to how many times you miss class."

"Hehe, then again, that lets me spend more time with you, so I can't say I am sad about it." Akashi teased slightly and the woman showed a boastful smile as she said.

"Well, I know you enjoyed the view at least. Now chop chop or you will get late to class today." Silk said as she walked the dog inside.

Akashi could not resist staring at her as she walked inside, her derriere was just far too good to not appreciate a little bit.

Silk, as if knowing he was doing so, turned her eye back to him and, with a smirk said.

"Perv."

After that she closed the door and Akashi got moving. She had enough time to go lightly, having a car to go to Kuoh, but Akashi would need to walk there so his time was much more limited.

Getting home, he didn't even have the time for a bath, he could only throw some deodorant to hopefully mask his scent before putting on his uniform and going to school, hoping to get there in time.

Despite how tired his muscles were, and how much his body screamed for him to stop, he pushed on and just as the gates were closing in he managed to get inside.

"Barely in time once more, Akashi-kun." The obnoxious voice of one of the Student Council members said, making the teenager groan as he turned to Meguri, a girl who sat beside him during the whole of the previous year and was always an utter annoyance.

"Get off my back, Meguri. I got in class before the gates were closed, so it was safe."

"Humph, barely. You should pay more attention to this sort of thing, and try to not show up like this again, you stink of sweat and cheap perfume."

"Fuck off." Akaza said as he went on to his classroom.

Finding his desk, he sat down and-

[For completing the mission 'work out half as hard as Saitama until your next first day in class' obtain the reward 'Ancient Phoenix Godbeast blood - 4 drops of essence blood']

The teen then felt it, he could feel how his body toughened up and became exponentially stronger. His vitality and power grew considerably all at once and he felt like he could even bathe in fire right this instant and not even feel the burn.

There were always some extra descriptions over what exactly the rewards were whenever he chose a mission, and this one was quite incredible. It came from the world of Against The Gods where humans could take the blood of god and transfuse them into themselves or others with special methods such that their talent and power could increase.

Having some of the blood of a God Beast like the Phoenix would naturally make one stronger, especially since it was five full drops like that.

Still, it was an incredible reward and, as the teacher continued talking up ahead, Akashi barely paid it any mind as he was far more worried about how much power he had now at his disposal. Now his body toughness improved by a lot, his regeneration improved by a huge margin, and his talent to anything 'fire' related has also improved. He even felt like, with just the right push, he should be able to use Phoenix Fire, a fire from the world of Against the Gods that had a purification effect.

'Yosh, one further step in surviving this world.' Akashi said to himself as he did not pay any mind to this class, instead opening his notebook to check his notes about all he could remember of the worlds he knew somehow intersected in this world to prepare for any of the troubles that might come to surge.

Akashi was what one would call a 'transmigrator', he woke up in this world around a year previous with no real memories of his past in this world. The house he was at and the money he had were all being provided by someone, he did not know who since he never got a contact from the person, but what shocked him more was how, well, batshit insane this world is.

By now he already identified that he was in the world of Highschool DxD. It may sound like an amazing thing, but Akashi knew that Trihexa, pantheons in a cold war, and the gods of ExE are a world-ending threat, all that would go down within the next year or so.

At least he got something when he woke up in this world, a system.

To be more exact, the Choice system which let him choose between random missions to gain correspondent rewards. He could only have at most 3 missions at a time, but on the very first day he got a mission that he locked himself into and now he would have to work to complete.

"Open system." Akashi said in a low tone as a small 'window' appeared in front of him.

[Mission 1: Choose allegiance - Become a reincarnated devil of the New Satan Faction; Reward - Zenkai boost (in progress)]

[Mission 3: None]

Nodding to himself, Akashi just went to sleep a bit despite the class having just started. He only stayed in this school because he still had to make sure he could join either Rias or Sona's Peerages if he were to complete that mission.

Sure, he had two available mission slots right now, but new missions can show up at any time and they can take any amount of time. He could not refuse to choose something if a mission presented itself, and he would rather have more empty slots so he could have more chances to obtain more missions.

And he wanted to get the Zenkai boost. Combine this with, say, the Twilight Healing from Asia and Akashi was sure he could go from scrub to Sirzechs levels given enough time. Well, at the time he received the mission the only other options were to join the Chaos Brigade (no thanks) or become a complete independent agent and stay human... but the reward for staying human was the Unlimited Blade Works reality marble from Shirou Emiya, with the associated mental conditioning.

No way, no way, that thing might be potentially busted but becoming a selfless hero of justice who seeks his own death and such is not something Akashi could ever stomach.

So he chose to become a devil instead, much better to do this and live forever while gaining power for being sinful as well as having the Zenkai boost. He put all his efforts on that direction and he felt more and more he was getting close to this... If only he was not so tired from all this running and… zzzz…

"Why am I here again?" Akashi asks in the student council office as Sona Sitri stands before him, the glasses-wearing woman staring at him impassively as she explained.

"Because you slept during your first class and the teacher sent a complaint about it." Sona said as she stared at him down. "Now, why have you decided to do such a thing?"

He just shrugged and explained.

"I was training in the morning so I got tired. The class was boring so I decided to take a nap." Akashi said honestly and as Sona launched into her usual spiel about school rules and whatnot, Akashi was just thinking that he should really aim for Rias peerage.

Sure, it would be incredibly more dangerous by comparison, but the simple fact that he would not have such an obnoxious and controlling boss was a huge plus.

Say what you will about Rias, but she at least was not anywhere close to as tiresome to deal with as Sona.

As for Sona, she was just being her usual hard head despite what she might think inside. Because, inside she was wondering if Akashi might be related somehow to the Phenex clan.

His energy signature, which he did not have previously, now could be felt and it was like it was similar but not quite like that of the Phenex clan magic energy. She even wondered if he might be a descendant of some half devil who stayed amongst humans, something that sometimes happened and usually resulted in humans with higher magic reservoirs and magic talent.

As Sona continued on, Akashi's eyes twitched as a new mission popped into his head.

[Mission: Issei, the child of destiny of this world, has just been invited by Raynare to a date. You must:

A - Let the date between Issei and Raynare happen and let Issei be killed; Reward - Transparency Magic (Seven Deadly Sins version)

B - Ruin the date to the point that Issei is NOT killed by Raynare like originally intended; Reward - Shadow Clone Technique (Naruto)

C - Kill or capture Raynare and her compatriots before they can get to Issei; Reward - Laplace Factor (Mushoku Tensei)]

As this mission popped into Akashi's head, he nearly cursed as ALL options were great rewards.

Sure, the Transparency magic may not seem like a lot, but he could remember that, while this magic did not hide one's sound when walking, it could hide one's magic signature and the user was only ever caught when he released killing intent or when he made a sound.

That could be extremely useful in some situations, even if it were slightly tasteless in high levels of combat. Meanwhile there was the Shadow Clone technique which could make training and many other things stupidly safer and more practical. And as for the Laplace Factor, it gives extremely prodigious talent with magic energy as well as the ability to improve one's magic reserves whenever one is exhausted.

Honestly, all three would be amazing, but he had a timer to decide what he would want to do otherwise he would not get to choose, the mission would be chosen randomly for him. Well, even if there was a timer, it was about 30 minutes of a timer so it was relatively safe as long as there was no mission given while he was asleep, something that could also happen.

After thinking for a while, Akashi decided to just let things play out. Sure, this was the lesser reward, but with how dangerous this world is and how important Issei being a devil is, it would be better to ensure the little pervert gets to be one as soon as possible. It was either this or take care of the fallen right away, since having the Laplace Factor was just that tempting. But, despite how tantalizing this option truly was, this would likely make Asia go straight to Grigory instead of passing by Kuoh.

Asia and Issei in Rias peerage was kind of a good match for what Akashi desired moving forward, especially if he joins Rias and unlocks the potential for Zenkai boosts.

Besides, invisibility magic like that can be used in various ways, especially considering what other rewards he had from the previous year.

Having selected his mission he now had to only wait until he got his reward.

Feeling satisfied, Akashi returned to paying attention to Sona.

"-which means your future bosses will-"

"Oh, don't worry about that. I have my plans already, pretty sure someone with my skill set will find a suitable job sooner or later. Now, if we are finished, I have to get going now for my nap ti- I mean history class. I dunno why I keep mixing the two up." Akashi said with a chuckle as he got up to leave.

He noticed Sona's expression and, before leaving, decided to do something to see if either her or Rias would try to get to him.

"I wonder, what would it take to join the Student Council or the Occult Research Club? Could you maybe send me a memo about it, those two clubs sound… interesting."

With that, he left. He knew he could join at least Rias rather easily right away, but letting it to this extent would likely be for the best. If he attracted all the attention of Rias now, who knows if she would actually show up to save Issei when the time comes?

If the little pervert actually dies, then all the troubles he would deal with would need Akashi to do it, and he would much rather NOT have this responsibility if at all possible.

It was the afternoon when Akashi walked back home earlier than usual. That was mostly because his self imposed job of the previous year was now done and over with, the year wide mission to go after the perverted trio to make sure they do not try anything stupid was a tiresome ordeal, especially when he almost failed multiple times as those three kept getting progressively more creative in how to slip past him to do their shit.

The reward was more than worth it in Akashi's opinion, but it was still a job he was glad to do without by now.

Opening the door to his apartment, Akashi looked inside to make sure everything was in order before he went in and went to take a bath. After he finished it, he could finally relax… not.

"With my body now, the system says I can endure it." Akashi says as he opened a drawer and, inside, a simple sealed jade vase was present. Opening it up, a single flower could be seen inside it.

A chrysanthemum with an enormous flower in an exceptionally beautiful violet. Each of the chrysanthemum's petals seemed to be adorably fluffy on the outside, making them blend into each other. It didn't release any fragrance, and the stamen rising from the center of the petals was more than half a chi tall, the tip of the stamen glittering with a faint golden radiance.

It's name is Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum, it is a Immortal Herb from the world of Douluo Dalu which, when eaten, the energy will spread through the four limbs, blood clearing the Eight Meridians, strengthening a person's limbs and improving one's training speed. It was the reward for a year of beating up Issei and his pals, something Akashi selected because he figured that something like this should let him get much greater results when becoming a devil, not to mention that anything to improve the potential was a good thing in his eyes at this stage where fights have yet to start.

The system warned him though, absorbing any such Immortal herb, much less one like this with 99 thousand years which was close to gaining thought and ability to turn into a human, was not easy. Even if the system would change anything given to him into the safest and most easy to use version possible, if the body was too weak to handle the herb even at its mildest and most cooperative then Akashi could only blame himself.

Thankfully, the Phoenix blood he absorbed was enough to help his body reach the minimum threshold where the system could help him absorb the herb.

Akashi was about to take the herb when a thought struck him and he did not immediately start. Instead, he went to his bathtub to fill it up with water. After he had filled it to the brim, and only after that, did he take out all his clothing and got into the bath.

Knowing those wuxia stories, since this herb cleans the body from impurities while strengthening it by a lot, those impurities would start leaving his body in droves. Better make things simpler and just already be in a bathtub, otherwise cleaning his house of whatever the fuck gets out of his body would be a bitch and a half for sure.

"Here is hoping it works well." Akashi said as he started eating the herb thought the method indicated as the most effective.

Leave it to wuxia worlds to have special methods even for just eating flowers. The method of consuming it in question is to first eat the stamen, afterwards each of the petals with the stalk remaining not eaten as it would interfere with the consumption.

By the time Akashi finished eating it whole, he felt it. Energy bursting from his stomach and his vision going dark, the last thing he could see was the system window message.

Groaning, Akashi slowly opened his eyes as the door to his house kept on being hit over and over again.

He tried to stand up, but his whole body hurt and, as he looked at the water around him, it was clear that the medicine worked.

Perhaps it worked 'too well' since the water of the bathtub was now as if it was a swamp. It was honestly disgusting, and Akashi wondered how so much shit was stuck inside his body.

Sighing he got up and, not giving a rat's ass about the person who was trying to punch his door into submission, went to take a bath. His skin felt greasy due to the impurities stuck in it, so he went ahead to clean himself up properly.

He spent a good twenty minutes cleaning up. It took that long just to make sure his body was properly clean and good to go. As he was leaving the bath though, he looked at himself in the mirror and was shocked.

Previously he had the dreaded teenager skin problems, acne. Not only that, his hair was a constant mess and there were bags under his eyes. Honestly, he was far from the most handsome guy around, average at best really. If not for his well defined body due to all his exercises he would be downright ugly.

Well, now all those problems just, well, vanished. His skin was now clean and without a single impurity, all his acne and spots vanished and his black hair was now perfectly straight as if he just went to a beauty parlor despite never having stepped into one with it's color becoming closer to a dark blue nearing black, but with a luster that was undeniable. His body fat seemed to have been pushed out with the impurities, leaving his body bigger and more robust and, as Akashi clenched his fist, he could feel how much more raw strength he had compared to before.

Another thing became apparent then. Not only did his body change externally, but somehow he was now also able to feel his own vitality and life force moving inside himself. Thinking for a moment he went to the kitchen. Concentrating his life force on his hand, he tried to stab said hand with a knife, but the knife couldn't even reach his skin.

"Touki." He muttered as it was clear his body had gone beyond the limits of a regular human in this world, forcefully learning Touki in much the same way as Sairaorg.

Smirking to himself, he felt how every single aspect of his body had improved drastically.

"System." He said as the notifications opened up.

[Due to fully absorbing the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum Immortal Herb the power of the body drastically improved, True Divine Phoenix blood perfectly integrated into the body. Toxicity of the Immortal Herb still in effect, time needed to where it is possible to eat another: 5 months.]

Well, it makes sense. Immortal herbs are the sort of thing that devouring them would not be fast or easy. One normally could only eat one in their entire lives, but thanks to Akashi's system he would be able to eat another in time. But even his system was limited in that he couldn't just eat another right away and it would need 5 months before it would be safe to eat another (If he had one by then).

He was just about to check his system further to see if there were any other changes on his body or powers after the evolution of his body when he heard the sound of the door to his apartment opening up.

Eyes widening at this, Akashi moved to his room to collect one of the things he obtained with the previous year's efforts.

For the whole of the previous year he only obtained 8 rewards, including this True Phoenix ordinary blood drops and the Immortal Herb. Most were items or techniques, and one of the said items was now in his hand as he readied himself to face whatever it is that might come his way.

As the door to his room started to open, Akashi saw who it was that came and had his expression darken considerably.

"So, is it school policy to invade the home of students now, Meguri?"

Meguri, the only knight of Sona Sitri, turned in his direction and huffed as she saw him standing in his room completely naked. Involuntarily her eyes gazed down and her face flushed when she saw what he was packing downstairs.

The twin tailed girl quickly turned her face away as she stammered.

"W-Well, president got worried when you missed classes for four days in a row without warning. We tried to call, but couldn't reach you or your guardians so someone had to come and check."

"And this explains the break and enter in my house, why?" Akashi counters before mentioning. "Also, do you mind? I need to put on some clothes and I don't feel like flashing you all I have here unless you are doing the same."

Meguri's flush somehow got even brighter as she left the room. Seeing her leave, Akashi could finally sigh in relief as he went ahead to put on some clothes, and hide the rewards he had in his room.

Sure, their energy signatures were not like those of this world for the most part so there was little risk that it would be felt that easily, but it would still be for the best if Meguri or the devils did not find it out. Especially the items he had yet to absorb due to having no desire to increase his 'price' too much to the point that Rias or Sona might not be able to reincarnate him.

Putting on some basic clothes, he checked himself to make sure he was fine and got out of his room only to not find Meguri anywhere. He looked side to side, wondering if she might have found something she shouldn't.

Soon, he found her staring in disgust and a hint of curiosity at the bathtub he was at previously. Meguri had decided to go to the bathroom to freshen up to try and forget what she had just witnessed, but now she was horrified at the water and the state it was in.

"What did you do, no, wait, what exactly happened to you, Akashi-kun?" Meguri said as she had, for the first time since getting here, actually paid attention to what he looked like.

Akashi just scratched his face and said with a slightly embarrassed face.

"Would you believe me if I said I just ate my veggies?"

A deadpan stare was his only answer.

Suggestions and ideas for characters and crossover elements are okay. Right now it is only DxD with a little extra, but I am open to other worlds as well as suggestions for choices.

The choices options are normally divided in 'good', 'evil' and 'neutral/uninvolved'. The example of mission above shows this more or less, the fact is that inaction is still a choice like any other and can give rewards just as well, knowing that every choice has their consequences.

The system rewards can be divided in:

Items : The items comes on the easiest viable configuration for the MC to absorb and or use, but if he just can't bear to use it no matter what then he can only use the item when he gets capable of it.

Experience cards : the user will be able to practice whatever it is he trains, so even if he is given a chance to train something that should not work in DxD or for his race he will still be able to learn it, but how much can be obtained from the time of training given depends on what his current state is. The experience cards would be as if he spends that determined amount of time practicing said skill with a suitable teacher.

Pets : things like digieggs from digimon, monsters, non-humans, stuff like that. They come with 100% loyalty and, if female, love for the owner (yes, lewds with monster girls and furies is entirely possible)
