Sunday:

Driving on the highway in the limousine, Junko Enoshima, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Fashionista, and her older twin sister, Mukuro Ikusaba, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Soldier, were on their way to Hope's Peak Academy as they were scouted by them and would be attending school there. As their limousine driver drove on their way to Hope's Peak, Junko and Mukuro were having their drinks as they wait for their arrival, after Junko tried to kill Mukuro by stabbing her with an icepick and a grenade with little effort as Mukuro casually blocks the icepick attack and threw the grenade away and later explained by Junko why she picked her up and where they were going.

"You sure are excited about it, huh, Junko?" Mukuro asked after being informed by her sister of being picked as students of Hope's Peak together.

"Yup!" Junko smiled in excitement, "My heart is pumping so much I can't wait to be there! Man, it's gonna be so exciting, because we've got great plans when we get there!"

"Is that so?" said Mukuro as she smiled at her younger twin sister, "Well, I'm sure whatever it is we're planning will turn out to be something to remember."

But then suddenly, out of nowhere, there was a sound of a tire popping at the front of the limousine as if the tire suddenly and somehow flatlined, and the driver of the limousine lost control of the car and began twirling around uncontrollably and causing the two passengers in the limousine, Junko and Mukuro, to scream out loud in fear of what was happening, before the limousine suddenly got hit by multiple cars that were in the way, causing the limousine to flip around before crashing onto the wall of the highway and flipping the limousine forward before it fell off the highway, crashing really hard by the front onto the ground as glass shattered and the whole car was broken into pieces before the limousine landed onto its stomach and the doors to pop out and opened in an unhinged way. Inside the limousine, the driver was bleeding so much in the head from crashing in front of the wheel handle, lying motionless as blood was coming out and flowing everywhere around him. While at the back of the limousine in the passenger seat, the twin sisters, Junko and Mukuro, were lying motionlessly on the floor as lots of bruises from the crash was shown and blood was flowing and dripping everywhere from parts of their bodies that were cut opened from their fleshes or opened out broken bones. There were no signs of either Junko or Mukuro getting up from what had just happened to them, as they were now officially dead. Police cars and ambulances began to arrive soon after.

Two hours later, a member of the Steering Committee received a call from someone on the phone and as he answered the call, he received the bad news.

"WHAT?!" he shouted, shocked by what he was hearing, "Junko Enoshima and Mukuro Ikusaba are both DEAD?!" He grumbled before slamming his phone onto the table in anger as he said, "Dammit…! And we just admitted them both! We need to cover this up, NOW!"

Monday:

Driving out on the road in the morning, the one driving in the driver's seat, Jin Kirigiri, the Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy, said while driving, "You know, there was this idea by the founder of Hope's Peak…to bring together a group of-"

"Remarkable kids with remarkable talents into one school, to see if they can become something more together with their talents?" said the passenger next to him, Kyouko Kirigiri, daughter of Jin Kirigiri and the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Detective, as she turned to him with a smirk and said, "Yeah, I know. I heard the speech you made last year, old man."

"Then you should realize what is at stake here, Kyouko." said Jin, "And why I personally recruited you, to begin with, to attend school there, to be part of the current class of this year. And that is-"

"Class 78, I know." said Kyouko, "Which is why I'm surprised that you, of all people, would want to bet the future of the success of the current year's class of Hope's Peak on…" Kyouko looked forward with a skeptical look and said as she pointed, "…That guy."

Sitting outside at a fancy table at a fancy restaurant enjoying a fancy morning breakfast and having coffee was Byakuya Togami, the soon-to-be Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Affluent Progeny, who also happens to own the fancy restaurant thanks to his rich influence. Accompanying him was his butler, Aloysius Pennyworth, and a few maids who works for him.

"Well, apparently, Kizakura had lots of trouble getting him to join Hope's Peak as a student, so he asked me to take care of the problem and have him recruited personally while he scouts for the others." said Jin, before he gave out a small smile and said, "And besides, Togami may be, admittedly, hardheaded, difficult, and arrogant, but he has potential as a student of Hope's Peak Academy."

Kyouko scoffed and said while crossing her arms, "Please, what he has is a very big ego."

"Did I ever tell you the one time I actually recruited a kid with an amazing amount of good luck into our school for last year?" Jin asked.

Kyouko smirked at that reminder before she said as she corrected, "More like destructive luck, but vaguely rings a bell."

"Then you should know, I'm not afraid of dealing with a couple of few swings." said Jin as he got out of the car and began approaching Byakuya, who stopped drinking coffee as soon as he heard footsteps approaching his way and saw Jin, with Kyouko accompanying him from behind, as he said to him with a friendly smile, "Excuse me, sir. I would like to have a conversation with you if you don't mind."

Sometime later, Byakuya sighed and said to Jin, who was sitting in front of him while Kyouko stood next to her father with her arms behind her back, "Look, I don't care who you are or what it is you want, but I already told you, people, I DON'T want anything to do with your ridiculous school full of commoners!"

Jin chuckled and said, "Oh, no, no, no. You see, I seem to recall you doing everything yourself with your talent. So, how's it been working out for you, Mr. Togami?"

Byakuya scoffed and said, "No other problems to deal with. I have dealt with worse."

"Well, I don't mean to offend, but you've become a problem." said Jin somewhat sternly, "A problem that now I have to deal with, and contrary to your belief, you're not the center of my universe. In fact, I still have other students that I need to recruit for our new class."

"Then why not bother with them instead of with me, then?!" Byakuya spat back as one of his maids served him another coffee to drink. "Thank you." He said to the maid who served him another coffee, before turning back to Jin and continued spatting, "I have no interest in being a part of your ridiculous school project that you and this…whatever school you call…Hoop's Peck-?!"

"Hope's Peak." Kyouko interrupted and corrected.

"Whatever!" said Byakuya as he took his cup of coffee, "And why would I need to guarantee my success in my career by attending to that ridiculous school full of commoners, when I already have plans of guaranteeing my own success!" He then smirked as he said while taking a drink of his coffee, "Besides, I already have plans for my future as I'll be taking over my family's company. I don't need a ridiculous school to help me guarantee success in my career."

"Because, Mr. Togami," said Jin as he began explaining, "It helps improve the talents of individual students such as you, by-"

"Uh-ulgh!" Byakuya suddenly choked, "Ulghk…!"

"…By…learning…to…improve…one skill?" said Jin, suddenly confused by what was happening in front of him.

"Byakuya?" said Kyouko, just as confused as her father was as Byakuya spat out his coffee and began coughing out violently.

"Y-Young Master?!" said Aloysius, confused and worried for his master as he approached Byakuya, "Young Master, are you alright?!"

"Mr. Togami!" said Jin worriedly, "Mr. Togami, are you okay?!"

Byakuya continued coughing out violently until suddenly blood was coming out of his mouth, and then suddenly, as he stopped coughing, he fell off his seat and collapsed onto the ground, becoming motionless as everyone around him was in shock by what was happening in front of them, and the maids screamed in panic as they saw their charge fell and laid there.

"Mr. Togami!" Jin shouted, "Mr. Togami!"

"Young Master!" Aloysius shouted to his master worriedly, "Young Master!"

"W-What happened?!" one of the maids shouted, scared of what was going on with her young master.

"Everyone, stand aside, now!" Kyouko shouted as she hurriedly moved to the motionless Byakuya and quickly turned his body around before checking his pulse around his neck, and Kyouko became stoically silent from the lack of pulsing.

"Father…" said Kyouko stoically.

"What is it?" said Jin, "What happened?"

She turned to her father and everyone else around her with a stoic look on her face as she said stoically, "Byakuya Togami…he's dead."

This news shocked everyone around them as they heard that Byakuya, the current heir to the Togami Conglomerate, had just died.

"N-No…way…!" said Jin, shocked.

"N-No…h-how could this…?" said Aloysius, shocked to hear that his young master had died before his face became angry as he turned to the maids and shouted furiously, "YOU! WHICH ONE OF YOU DID THIS TO THE YOUNG MASTER?! WHICH OF YOU POISONED HIS COFFEE?!"

"Wha…!" the maids looked at each other shocked and horrified before one of them answered, "N-No one!"

As Aloysius furiously interrogates the maids, Kyouko got up and said to her father with a stoic look, "Father, I don't believe he died of poisoning."

Jin looked at his daughter and could tell that she wasn't lying before looking at the dead body of Byakuya Togami, and he knew…something was definitely wrong.

Suddenly, his phone began ringing and Jin picked up the phone to see that it was Koichi Kizakura calling him before Jin answered the phone and said, "What is it, Kizakura? We're a little busy on our end here, just got some bad news!"

"Well, you might wanna save that, because I got some worse news." said Koichi on the line, "Just found the guy named Yasuhiro Hagakure, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Clairvoyant, you told me to look for."

"And?" said Jin, "What happened?"

"Well, you remember that limousine accident that happened yesterday?" Koichi asked on the line, "Where the limousine that carried two girls who're supposed to be one of our students suddenly lost control and got flipped over the highway and crashed down?"

"I do." said Jin before realization hit him and said, "W-Wait…you don't mean…?"

"Yup." said Koichi on the line, "Apparently, that same limousine had crashed onto the fortune-teller that I was supposed to pick up, right where he was doing fortunetelling, and now…well, he's dead."

This news shocked Jin as he put the phone down while processing the news that he just heard before looking at his daughter, who looked back at her father as if she knew what he was thinking. Indeed, there was something going on that was definitely wrong.

Humanity. So eager, so willing to face the impossible, yet blind to the bigger picture. And with amazing talents that can have humanity reach beyond their limits, hope is born and triumphs over despair, even in the worst of odds. And for the students of Class 78 of Hope's Peak Academy, their story together began here in their first week, months before the events that would transpire into what was known as The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History, also known as The Worst, Most Despair-Inducing Incident in the History of Mankind, or the Tragedy for short. And in just one week, strange and separate stories unfolded.

A boy with the worst luck of his life finding his place in a school full of remarkable students with remarkable talent, while a detective, under her father's orders, explores and learns some dark truths of Hope's Peak, and an heir to the family business battles and challenges his arrogance and ego both inside and out, while the people of Hope's Peak met a serial killer hiding within a scared young girl, and so many more from the students of a class known as Class 78. And finally, the twins, known as the Despair Sisters, planning their stage of attack of bringing the whole world into the pit of despair within the shadows, while corrupting others to join their cause in plunging the world into chaos.

I am the Watcher, and where humans see chaos, I see the crucible that would transform these individuals who would cling to hope and survive in the event that would bring them into despair into heroes who would bring back their future and hope to the world filled with despair. At least, that's how things played out in one universe. But in this one…

Saturday, Last Week:

…It's a completely different story, and all it takes…was one discouragement.

In the classroom, Makoto Naegi was looking at the letter of admission from Hope's Peak Academy, saying that they had chosen to accept Makoto Naegi to be this year's Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Lucky Student. It was crazy for Makoto Naegi. Just yesterday, he had been through a series of events of misfortune involving a robber that tried to get away with the jewelry that he robbed only for him to end up being stopped by a simple can which tipped off the motorcycle and put a stop to him, which made Makoto miss the performance show of his favorite idol, Sayaka Maizono. It was only when he got home that Komaru, his younger sister, and his parents enthusiastically showed him the letter of acceptance from Hope's Peak Academy that he felt that all the misfortune that he'd experienced in the day had been overturned by this news. He could even remember the joy that his family showed and their encouragement for him to go and attend Hope's Peak Academy. However, Makoto has yet to respond back to Hope's Peak, still unsure of whether to accept their invitation to attend Hope's Peak or not.

"Hey, Naegi." said one of his female classmates named Maiya Suzumiya, "Whatcha got there?"

"Oh, hey, Suzumiya." Makoto greeted, "Just…a letter of acceptance from Hope's Peak Academy."

Maiya gasped in shock at that before she approached Makoto and said to him excitedly, "WHAT?! Shut up! No way, really?! You got an invitation to be a student at Hope's Peak?! That's awesome!"

"Ah, yeah, I know." Makoto chuckled while rubbing the back of his head, "Heh, weird, right? Just yesterday, I've been through lots of weirdest and unluckiest events, but now I got picked to be a part of the greatest school in Japan. Although, I'm still not sure whether to accept their offer and attend Hope's Peak or not, even though my family encourages me to. I-I don't know if I should or…"

"Are you kidding me?!" Maiya beamed excitedly, "Of course, you should definitely go to Hope's Peak Academy! This is a one-chance opportunity of a lifetime for you!"

"R-Really?" said Makoto, "You think so?"

"Yeah, definitely!" Maiya smiled, "When you attend Hope's Peak, your chances of success for a greater career are guaranteed! Plus, the school is full of people with amazing talent, so you can make lots of great friends there and have great memories with them!" She then grinned mischievously and added, "And who knows? You might even get a girlfriend you wanna go out with and eventually marry!"

"H-Hey, c'mon, I wouldn't try to go that far!" Makoto chuckled a bit before asking, "But, seriously, do you…really think I should attend Hope's Peak? Seriously?"

"Yeah!" Maiya smiled brightly, "Seriously!"

"No!" a passing male student named Ichirou Kurata suddenly said, "No, not seriously!" He looked at Makoto and said in discouragement, "Naegi, don't attend Hope's Peak at all! That place is full of nothing but bad news for guys like you! Lots of very bad things happen there and it's not just the pressure of class or improving talents or whatever, but what terribly happens to students who attend there! There's one of the rumors has it that a Reserve Course Student who died there, was likely killed by another Reserve Course Student before they were killed by a student from the Main Course, and it was a bloody massacre which happened last year! So, if you attend, Naegi, you could end up being either killing someone, or worse, being killed off, whether you're a main course student or not!"

Maiya sighed in frustration before she said to Ichirou, "Oh, c'mon, Kurata, would you STOP discouraging people for at least a few moments, especially when something extremely good happens for our friend Naegi! He just got accepted to one of the greatest schools in Japan and already you're dissuading him from getting a big opportunity like you did with others! And besides, aren't those just bad rumors made up by other people who used to attend Hope's Peak?! The school confirmed that it was just a rumor and that the reserve course students who attended Hope's Peak actually died in two different accidents!"

"Well, I don't believe that!" said Ichirou, "And 'greatest school in Japan', my ass! For all we know, the rumors could be true, and Hope's Peak could be making stuff up just to cover up the whole thing about those terrible rumors! You know, to PROTECT their image and shit?!"

"Oh, my God, Kurata, will you STOP believing in bad rumors and discouraging people?!" said Maiya, "Especially when something good's gonna happen to people that are gonna have their lives changed for the better!"

"I'm just speaking out the truth so that nobody would make any stupid and reckless mistakes they make, because something that's too good to be true can always lead to something bad happening!" said Ichirou, "Trust me, I'd know! Just ask my stupid dad my mom divorced years ago for falling for a scam that got him in debt!" He then looked at Makoto and said, "Look, trust me when I say this, Naegi. DON'T attend Hope's Peak Academy! I suggest you find success somewhere else normally before you even THINK about going to Hope's Peak Academy and doing something STUPID and RECKLESS! Like getting into trouble, or worse, getting killed!"

As Ichirou leaves the classroom to go home, Makoto Naegi, now feeling discouraged to attend Hope's Peak Academy, looked back at the letter of acceptance from Hope's Peak Academy, now with a conflicted look on his face as he took in what Ichirou just said to him and the discouragement he received from his fellow classmates.

"Ugh, Goddammit, Kurata!" said Maiya, "Why does he always have to ruin the mood by discouraging people to do something good?! Just for once, he should at least be encouraging to let people do what they want!" She then turned to Makoto and said to reassure him, "H-Hey, c'mon, Naegi, don't listen to Kurata! You know how he is, he just wanna make people not take up good opportunities and try to get something good for once. C'mon, you got the letter of acceptance, you should go on and attend Hope's Peak Academy. It's a huge opportunity and it'll be good for you!"

Makoto was silent for a moment as if thinking to himself before finally saying out his second thought, "No. No, it's okay. I uh…I wasn't really planning on attending Hope's Peak, anyway." As he got up from his desk and picked up his school bag, Makoto threw away the letter of acceptance from Hope's Peak into the trash can and said as he went off to go home, "I'll just go and find success somewhere else in a normal way."

Maiya looked on at Makoto worriedly as he leaves the classroom before looking at the letter of acceptance from Hope's Peak that was now thrown into the trash can, before she sighed sadly, now knowing she wouldn't be able to change his mind even if she tried, and then went off to go home.

There. That's the moment that changed everything. Because of one single discouragement from a classmate, Makoto Naegi chose not to attend Hope's Peak Academy, and in turn, created a whole new universe. Or in this case, two possible universes that would change, and none for the betterment of their worlds. When Makoto Naegi in this universe chose not to attend Hope's Peak Academy, the world would soon fall into ruin, with the source of the destruction comes from Hope's Peak Academy itself, where Junko Enoshima and her Ultimate Despair caused chaos and anarchy around the world, bringing pain and despair wherever they go, and no one, not even the survivors of Hope's Peak Academy, could stop her and her group from sowing despair, while Makoto Naegi and his surviving family did everything they could to survive in this horrible reality that they live in. At least, that's one possible universe. While in this one…

Tuesday:

In the afternoon, outside on the sidewalk across the house that housed a dojo, Koichi Kizakura, the Former Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Scout and currently a staff member of Hope's Peak Academy, was watching and observing the people training in the dojo. Or more specifically, the one who the school selected to be part of this year's class, Sakura Ogami, the soon-to-be Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Martial Artist, who was packing up her stuff and ready to leave. Koichi, by Jin's orders, came over to her to pick her up and take her to Hope's Peak Academy since nobody could after what happened yesterday with Togami.

Koichi picked up his phone to call Jin as he said, "Headmaster Kirigiri, I just found her. I'm gonna go bring her over to school."

At Hope's Peak Academy, Jin was in his office watching outside through the window at the front gate where some of the staff members, including Juzo Sakakura, the Former Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Boxer and currently front gate security guard, were dealing with and talking to the people of the Togami Conglomerate while Chisa Yukizome, the Former Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Housekeeper and currently the homeroom teacher of the infamously destructive Class 77-B, was looking after the current students of Class 78 who were brought to Hope's Peak: Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Moral Compass, Hifumi Yamada, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Fanfic Creator, Mondo Owada, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Biker Gang Leader, Leon Kuwata, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Baseball Star, and Chihiro Fujisaki, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Programmer. And just arriving at the front gate to provide support for Hope's Peak Academy was Kyosuke Munakata, the former Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Student Council President, who came to provide support after hearing from Yukizome what had happened the last two days.

Jin asked Koichi on his phone, "Anyone else that we're missing on the list?"

"There are a few." said Koichi on the line, "The only ones missing are Sayaka Maizono, Aoi Asahina, Celestia Ludenberg, and Toko Fukawa who I'm currently having lots of difficulty finding. That girl is giving me so much trouble in hiding herself and I can't seem to find her, wherever she is."

"I see." said Jin, "Alright, then, Kizakura, that's enough scouting for today. Until we figure out what the hell's going on and what happened during the murder of the students, we shall stop scouting for more, and until everything is back in order and everyone is safe, school is canceled for the rest of the school days and the students will remain in their dormitories. I'll have the rest of the staff be notified about it, as well."

"Got it." said Koichi on the line, "I'll call you when I get back."

As soon as Jin hung up on the call, Kyouko Kirigiri entered the headmaster's office with a serious expression as she informed her father, "I've interrogated every employee who works for the Togami Conglomerate with the police, none of them seems to know anything about Byakuya's murder."

"I see." said Jin as he got up from his desk and brought out folders full of documents, "Well, this is troubling."

Kyouko nodded in agreement before she said, "I don't believe there were any insiders in their conglomerate who would try and sabotage the reputation of the Togami Family. Everyone there is too loyal to do any undermined schemes, especially the maids who worked for Byakuya yesterday and were, later on, got fired."

"Then, it's likely that it may have been someone from inside our academy that did this." Jin concluded, "Someone who wants to put a dent in our school's reputation, and likely to put us all down."

"It couldn't have been either you or me." said Kyouko, "We didn't even bring anything lethal, let alone ones that could secretly kill in silence."

"Of course not." said Jin, "Which is why we need you to investigate this matter. As much as I want to help you on this, Kyouko, as you can see, as a headmaster, my hands are very tied right now."

"You know those conglomerate people aren't gonna hold you and the rest of the staff forever." Kyouko smirked, "They don't even have any proof or evidence that you're all the suspects."

"Oh, I'm counting on that." Jin chuckled a bit before he handed his daughter the documented folders and said with a serious expression, "Anyway, someone from inside Hope's Peak Academy compromised the recruitment plans for the students of Class 78. I need someone on the outside to find out who it is."

"You sure you wanna take another big swing at me, old man?" Kyouko asked with a smirk.

"Safest bet as I'll ever make." Jin nodded in confirmation.

Kyouko looked at the documented folders for a moment and saw that it was likely information about the scouted students of Hope's Peak Academy for Class 78, including the recently deceased Byakuya Togami, before she looked to her father and said, "Alright, I'll learn what I can and report back to you if I learn anything." She brought out her phone and added as she turned to leave, "I'll keep in touch with you if I learn anything."

Jin nodded and said, "Just try and make sure you come back in one piece, alright, Kyouko?"

Kyouko smirked before she turned her head around to face her father and joked, "Says the old man who lost two pieces."

Jin gave an unamused chuckle and said, "Very funny."

With that, Kyouko turned away and left the office to begin her investigation, while Jin turned around and walked back to his desk to start his own work.

On her way out, Kyouko began looking at the documented folders, on the information regarding the would-be students of Class 78 of Hope's Peak, including the deceased ones, as well as their talents, their background, and everything else that is needed to be known about them, herself included, before she stopped as she stumbled upon something else. Or rather, someone else.

"What's this?" Kyouko wondered as she looked at the informational document of one person she found, "Makoto Naegi, huh? How did this get here?" As she read everything about Makoto Naegi, including his rejection of their acceptance to come to Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Lucky Student, Kyouko said to herself, "Hmmm. Must've slipped in here by accident, and probably must've forgotten about it by father. Still, this is quite…interesting." She then closed the documented folder about Makoto Naegi and said to herself while putting away the folders into her jacket, "I'll hold on to it, for now. It won't help me on my investigation of the murders of the students right now, but at least it'll be saved for future reference, likely to be used later in case I need it." She took a deep breath to keep herself calm and focused as she said while walking off to work on her investigation, "Time to get started."

In the evening that was getting close to nighttime as rain soon poured down from the sky, every student of Hope's Peak Academy, both main course and reserve course, were in their dorm rooms doing whatever they doing, studying, playing games, hanging out with friends, and all other student shenanigans that were going on, while the current students of Class 78 were being watched over by the teachers and staff as they wait for Koichi Kizakura to hurry back with Sakura Ogami.

As they waited, Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Hifumi Yamada were talking amongst each other, while Leon Kuwata was looking as if he was losing out of his mind from being bored to death. Meanwhile, Chihiro Fujisaki was on the laptop, working on programming to control the mechanical crane that was lifting a large magnet that was magnetically holding onto steel beams. So far, the programming of controlling the mechanical crane with the large magnet was working as he used the keyboard to control the magnet that was lifting the steel beams and moving them away from the school building.

"Hey, little buddy." said Mondo Owada as he approached Chihiro, "Nice working there!"

Chihiro giggled and said, "Thanks. I'm actually working on a program that can have the working vehicles work without needing people to be inside the vehicles themselves, while programmers like me can control the working vehicles by computer control, like what I'm doing right now."

"Ha, well, not bad." said Mondo, impressed, "Personally, I prefer riding my bike because of the thrill of it, plus because I'm a biker, but hey, having to do the work without needing to be on something isn't so bad either."

Chihiro chuckled with a smile before it faltered as he asked out of concern while looking at the grumpy baseball star who looked like he wanted to throw something just to clear boredom, "Hey, Mondo? Do you think that things will be okay? You know, after what happened to one of our would-be classmates?"

Mondo thought about it for a moment before he said with a smirk, "Well, personally, I'm kinda glad that the Togami guy is dead because if he did become a classmate of ours, I can't imagine myself standing with that guy. Rich spoiled brats like that dude would REALLY piss me off!" But then his smirk faltered as he said solemnly, "Although, given what's going on right now, it's probably not a good idea to brag about, especially during a time like this. And, honestly, I'm not entirely sure if things WILL get any better anytime soon. For now, we just gotta have to cross our fingers that nothing else bad ever happens."

Chihiro nodded in agreement and said, "So, the best thing we can do is…hope for the best, prepare for the worse."

Behind them, Sakura Ogami arrived at the front gates with Koichi leading the way to the school building to meet up with the other students of Class 78. Sakura had just drunk up her bottle of energy drink and threw the bottle away as she followed Koichi to meet with the students and staff. But then suddenly, Sakura began to grimace as she began to groan as if she was in pain. This caught the attention of the teachers and staff as they looked at Sakura with worried looks, before suddenly, her expression contorted to that of extreme pain as she placed her hand on her chest, and she began to breathe erratically as if she was having difficulty in breathing.

"Sakura Ogami?" said Chisa worriedly.

"Hey, something's wrong!" Juzo yelled to the staff members, "Get a medic here, now!"

As the teachers and staff hurriedly try to help Sakura, Chihiro and Mondo looked on with worry as Leon came over to them and said, "Guys, I think worse just got here!"

"Yeah, no shit!" said Mondo.

Chisa hurried over to Leon, Mondo, and Chihiro before she told them, "You three, hurry and finish what you're doing and get inside the building now! We need to help Sakura with whatever she's suffering from!"

"Ah, right." Leon nodded before he hurriedly went to the school building.

"You go on ahead, I'll catch up!" said Chihiro, "Right now, my program on my laptop is connected to the working crane right now. I just need to disconnect my programming on the crane from my laptop before I can go with you!"

"Okay!" Mondo nodded, "Just hurry while you still can, little buddy!"

Chihiro nodded before hurrying to his laptop as Mondo left to meet up with everyone at the school building. Once Chihiro was on his laptop, he began working to try and disconnect his programming on the crane by typing in on the keyboard with codes that he knows. Once he finished inputting the codes, all he needed to do was press the enter button and the program would disconnect from the crane. But then, he stopped himself for a moment as he looked at his laptop screen and realized something.

"Not good." he said to himself, "If I disconnect now, the electromagnet on the crane will shut off, disabling the electromagnet power and the steel beams that are being lifted will drop!" He turned around to look at the people of Hope's Peak.

Farther away, Sakura Ogami was being helped by the teachers and staff while Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Hifumi Yamada were walking ahead to the building, with Mondo and Leon following behind Sakura. And right above them, was the mechanical crane carrying the large magnet that was magnetically holding onto steel beams.

"I should wait until everyone gets into the school building." Chihiro concluded, "Once everyone's inside, I'll try to get the crane to move the steel beams somewhere safer and then have it lower the crane to put the beams down." And Chihiro did just that, he waited for everyone to get inside the building and readied to move the crane via his laptop once everyone got in, though Sakura appears to be struggling to keep moving the most as she was having trouble breathing so everyone had to move slowly.

"Just hold on…" Chihiro thought, "Just a few more minutes…"

But then suddenly, the magnet holding onto the steel beams suddenly released its magnetic hold on them and the steel beams began to fall down, and directly at Kiyotaka and Hifumi. Sakura, though still struggling to breathe and in intense pain, saw the steel beams falling down toward the two male students, before she, with whatever strength she had, pushed herself to hurriedly run and save the two male students from the falling steel beams. Unfortunately, by the time she got close to Kiyotaka and Hifumi who were screaming in panic from the falling steel beams above them, it was already too late, and the pile of steel beams immediately crushed the three students of class 78, killing them all instantly as blood was spreading everywhere on the ground from the steel beams that crushed them, shocking and horrifying everyone who witnessed their immediate death, including Chihiro Fujisaki who had a look of shock and horror in his eyes.

Confused as to how it happened, Chihiro turned to his laptop only to see, to his utter horror, that the program that was connected to the crane had somehow suddenly been disconnected, causing the electromagnet to power off and dropped the steel beams, which resulted in the death of three students. Chihiro turned back and, once all eyes were on him, began to panic as he said to everyone who looked at him, "N-No, no! No! I-It wasn't me! I-I didn't kill them!"

Suddenly, police officers moved and surrounded Chihiro, armed with guns as they pointed their weapons at him and shouted orders for Chihiro to freeze and hands in the air.

"I-I swear, it wasn't me!" Chihiro cried as he raised his hands up while tears were threatening to come out of his eyes.

Kyosuke Munakata approached where Chihiro was before looking at the laptop that had connected with the crane, before he said as he glared at Chihiro, "Your control of the crane from your laptop would indicate otherwise."

Upon hearing that, all Chihiro could do was look in horror at what he said as tears soon fell from his eyes.

Soon after, inside the school building, Chihiro was placed inside a locked containment cell that was being watched over and guarded by security personnel while all Chihiro could do was sit down on the floor and back against the wall as he contemplated everything that happened, all while he sobbed out tears from his eyes as he thought about what he did, and what caused the death of his classmates.

"This doesn't make any sense…" said Chihiro tearfully, "How could this have happened…? I-I couldn't have slipped…I couldn't have killed them…I-I couldn't…"

At the office where the teachers and staff were, Chihiro would be seen on the other side, Jin arrived to meet up with Kyosuke, Chisa, Juzo, and Koichi as they watched Chihiro from the glass window.

"What's the word on our students?" Jin asked.

"All of them dead, sadly." said Kyosuke, "Although, I had some medical team check on Ogami earlier, and according to their information when they ran x-ray tests, Ogami's lungs were ripped open from the inside with small holes somehow, causing blood to flood into her lungs. In short, she was drowning in her own blood."

"And due to that, because of her lungs being ripped open, she had trouble breathing, which caused a distraction, and without being able to breathe properly, she wouldn't be able to use her strength to stop the steel beams from falling, causing her death as well as the death of Ishimaru and Yamada." Jin concluded.

"You're kidding!" said Chisa, shocked.

"First the Fashionista and Soldier, then the Filthy Rich Kid and Fortuneteller Squid-Head, and now Musclewoman, Discipline Man, and Fatty McFanfic?!" Juzo growled, "That's seven high-valued students killed off, three of them by one of our own students inside 24-fucking-hours!"

Jin looked at Chihiro and asked, "Is Fujisaki still sticking to the story?"

"Yeah." said Koichi, "The little kid's been pretty out of shape in there. No surprise because of what just happened. He won't talk to anyone, not even an adult like Yukizome, and she's usually good with kids."

Chisa looked down saddened while nodding in confirmation before adding, "Chihiro is so traumatized by the death of his classmates that he would even look at me or talk to me. And honestly, I don't think he'll talk to any adult right now."

"Well, maybe not an adult," said Jin, "But maybe he'll talk to a friend."

Kyosuke and Juzo looked at Jin confused while Chisa and Koichi gave out knowing looks.

Meanwhile, in the security room where Chihiro was being monitored via security cameras, the security guards were watching Chihiro who was sitting on the ground with his back against the wall, doing nothing but crying silently on his knees, covering his face from everyone watching him. While the security team felt guilty for the kids, there wasn't anything they could do to help him, and were only there to just do their job. Then, all of a sudden, the security cameras that were watching Chihiro started to become glitchy as the security footage was becoming glitchy and blurry as if the screen was losing the signal.

"Huh?" said the first security officer.

"What the…?" said the second security officer.

The security camera screen glitched for thirty seconds before it suddenly went back to normal, showing only Chihiro sitting on the ground with his back against the wall and covering his face with his knees. This time, though, he was completely silent.

"What the hell happened?" said the first security officer.

"Maybe it was just the cameras acting up." said the second security officer, "The cameras are getting old."

"Hmm, yeah." said the first security officer, "Probably."

The security then resumed back to watching Chihiro through the security cameras, completely oblivious to what had happened to Chihiro, who was disturbingly silent.

Mondo then arrived at the locked containment cell that was holding Chihiro and was being guarded by security personnel before they let Mondo in once they saw Jin and Kyosuke behind him. The containment cell doors opened as Mondo walks in to see Chihiro, who was completely silent, sitting on the floor with his back against the wall, and covering his face.

Mondo knelt down and tried to reach out for his friend as he said with the best friendly smile, "Hey, there, little buddy."

Chihiro did not respond to Mondo as he remained perfectly still and completely silent, not moving a muscle or even looking up at him.

Mondo chuckled nervously and said, "Hey, c'mon, you sleeping or something? You okay, little buddy?"

Chihiro didn't respond.

"Um...you still alive?" Mondo asked.

Chihiro remained silent.

"Look, I-I know it's pretty hard after what just happened..." said Mondo while kicking him gently to get his attention, "...but you gotta snap out of it, man! You're making everyone worry and scared and shit!"

Chihiro did not respond, but he didn't move, either.

"You really can't hear me or something?" said Mondo as he kicked him gently again, "...Chihiro?"

Suddenly, Chihiro fell to the floor onto his side before Mondo quickly caught him, revealing that Chihiro's eyes were rolled to the back of his head, and his body was cold and lifeless, shocking Mondo as he saw that Chihiro Fujisaki was dead in his arms.

"H-Holy shit...!" said Mondo, "CHIHIRO! CHIHIRO! HEY, CALL AN AMBULANCE! SOMEBODY, CALL THE FUCKING AMBULANCE!"

Mondo looked back at Chihiro's lifeless face as Jin, Kyosuke, and the others ran into the containment cell and were horrified upon seeing the body of the programmer, who died of unknown causes, and the biker gang leader was holding the lifeless body in his arms.

"What?!" said Jin, shocked.

"No, how could this...?" said Chisa, shocked.

Seeing this, Juzo looked at the security personnel angrily and shouted, "WHO THE FUCK DID YOU LET IN HERE?!"

"W-Wha...no one!" said one of the security guards.

"Bullshit!" Juzo shouted, "Nobody just dies of a heart attack or something like that! Someone came in here, and you idiots let 'em in and they probably murdered Fujisaki and made it look like a heart attack!"

"W-We swear, we didn't let anyone in!" said the second security guard.

"Oh, fuck that!" said Juzo.

"Enough, Juzo!" Kyosuke ordered, "This is no time to start blaming people! For now, we must investigate Fujisaki's death and figure out how he died!"

"Hey, Chihiro!" Mondo tried calling his friend, "Stay with me! Please, stay with me! Chihiro! Chi-!"

Mondo stopped and gasped as he removed his hand from Chihiro's head and saw blood in it, and immediately, he realized with horror that Chihiro was bleeding from behind his head.

"He was bleeding from the head." said Mondo, shaking, "I-It looks like someone...hit him in the head."

Everyone was horrified upon hearing that, and Juzo became even angrier and shouted, "WHAT?! SOMEONE GOT IN HERE AND HIT FUJISAKI ON THE HEAD?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"

"Enough, Juzo." said Kyosuke, trying to calm down the boxer, before he ordered, "Look, if the killer is still here, we have to find him! Everyone, search the school and look everywhere, no corners are to be left unchecked! Find him before he escapes!"

"R-Right." everyone nodded before leaving the containment cell to begin the search for the killer.

Meanwhile, Leon Kuwata was walking along the hallway with a burger in his hand as he was walking back to his room before suddenly, the intercom speakers that were in the ceiling came to life, with Jin Kirigiri's voice coming out of it as he informed, "Attention, everyone, teachers and staff. A homicide has been committed, and the body has been discovered. Teachers and staff, please report to the location of the body immediately. I repeat, a homicide has been committed and the body has been discovered. Teachers and staff, please report to the location of the body immediately."

"What the...?" said Leon, shocked and confused, "A murder...?"

"And all students," said Jin through the intercom, "Please stay in your rooms. I repeat, please stay in your rooms. Do not go out and explore. Remain where you are and await further instructions. I repeat, do not go out and explore, and stay where you are. Those who're still outside, return to your rooms, and await further instructions."

Once the announcement was over, Leon became worried and confused as to what was going on.

"What's happening?" said Leon, confused, before he shook his head and said, "I-In any case, I gotta do what he says and go back."

So, he hurriedly made his way back to his room, only for him to pass by Mondo, Kyosuke, Chisa, and a couple of other security officers and police officers in the middle of the hallway.

"Mondo?!" Leon called out to the biker.

"Leon?!" Mondo said, shocked to see him.

"What's going on, man?" Leon asked, confused, "I heard the announcement about a homicide being committed, and that the body's been discovered."

"That's right." said Kyosuke, "One of the students, Chihiro Fujisaki, had committed suicide, and was found in the containment cell."

"W-Wait, what?!" Leon said, shocked and horrified, "Fujisaki's dead?!"

"Questions for later," said Chisa, "For now, you need to go back to your room, now!"

"Y-Yes, ma'am!" Leon nodded before he made his way back to his room, and the rest of the people in the group went their separate ways.

Once he returned to his room, Leon took some deep breaths as he looked around the room to find something that maybe he could use to defend himself until he found a baseball bat that was leaning against the wall, next to the dresser.

"Hmmm." said Leon, contemplating before he said, "Ah, screw it! Better than nothing!"

He then picked up the bat, but once he did, Leon noticed that the bat he was holding was covered in blood, much to his shock and horror.

"H-Holy shit." he said, horrified, before looking around and asked, "Did somebody bring a bloody bat in my room, and they left it here without me knowing? Or is it...?"

Just as Leon was about to question, a couple of security guards came into Leon's room to check if the student was okay, only to find him holding a bat that was covered in blood.

"W-Wait, I can explain!" said Leon as the security guards pointed their guns at him and told him to get down on the ground, hands on the floor.

"You?!" said one of the security guards, "You murdered Chihiro Fujisaki?!"

"Wait, what?!" said Leon, shocked and confused.

"You're under arrest for the murder of Chihiro Fujisaki," said the other security guard, "Drop the bat and get down on the ground, now!"

"N-No, wait!" Leon panicked, "I-It wasn't me! I didn't kill him! I didn't kill anybody!"

"Drop the bat and get down, now!" said the first security guard.

"I swear, I didn't do anything!" Leon pleaded, "I didn't kill Chihiro!"

Kyosuke then entered the room, saw Leon holding the bat with blood in it, and said, "Your bat covered in blood would indicate otherwise."

Leon became terrified upon hearing that and, seeing that he was outnumbered, dropped the bat before putting his hands up, while the security guards kept their weapons trained on him.

"Y-You got the wrong guy!" said Leon, "I swear, I didn't do it! I didn't kill him! H-Hell, I didn't even-Urgh...Ugh...!"

Suddenly, Leon began choking and coughing as if something was wrong with Leon, much to the confusion and concern of the others.

"H-Huh?!" said the first security guard.

"S-Something's wrong with him." said the second security guard, before he turned to the fellow security officer and said, "Go get the others, now!"

Before they could do anything, Leon began coughing out blood violently as he fell down onto his knees and coughed out even more blood before he fell onto the ground.

"Oh, God." said the first security guard, horrified, "What's wrong with him?!"

As Juzo and Chisa arrived to see what was going on, Leon began wheezing out as if he was running out of air before he slowly became motionless, and his body became cold and lifeless.

"What the fuck?" said Juzo, "Why'd the punk die so suddenly?"

"I-I don't know." said the second security guard, "It looked like he was having some kind of attack, like a coughing attack or something. One minute, he's panicking, the next minute, he's throwing up blood and collapsing, and the next, he's dead."

Kyosuke, Juzo, and Chisa looked at each other before looking back at the dead body of Leon Kuwata, and then at the bloodied baseball bat on the floor.

Afterward, Jin and the others were in the medical examination room where they brought the lifeless bodies of Chihiro and Leon to the examination table. Mondo had since returned to his room, so Jin and the others were left to discuss what happened.

"It's likely that when the victim tried to take the bat and possibly defend himself from the murderer," said Kyosuke, "And he ended up getting some of the poison on his hands."

"Or it could've been food poisoning." Koichi suggested, "Maybe the murderer somehow poisoned his food or something. Maybe the poison was in the food or the drink."

"No, that can't be it." said Jin, shaking his head, "I already had some people test the food that was left in the dining hall, and nobody else was poisoned by it."

"True." said Chisa, "And besides, Fujisaki's cause of death was a blow to the head, but there's no sign of injury or trauma that would indicate that Fujisaki was beaten with the baseball bat. If anything, the only explanation that would make sense was that Fujisaki was strangled to death by the person who hit him on the head."

"Or it could've been suicide." said Juzo.

"Unlikely." said Jin, "Plus, Chihiro still has a father, if he was gonna go, it wouldn't be willing."

"So, then it was murder." said Koichi.

"And if I had to guess," said Jin, "My money is on the same someone who killed Junko Enoshima, Mukuro Ikusaba, Yasuhiro Hagakure, and Byakuya Togami."

"But then, why the fuck would that killer decide to target those five, then Sakura Ogami, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, and Hifumi Yamada, and then Fujisaki and Kuwata?" Juzo asked, "We don't even know how this killer is doing all of this?"

"Plus, we don't have any definite proof or evidence." said Chisa, "I went to the security room earlier to check the security cameras that were watching over Chihiro when the incident occurred, and it shows him alone and just sitting down with his back against the wall. But, a few seconds later, the footage became blurry and glitchy, and by the time it went back to normal, Chihiro was found dead."

"Leon couldn't have done that, could he?" Koichi asked.

"He's a baseball player, not a programmer like Chihiro." said Jin, "Leon isn't smart enough to hack into anything."

"Plus, as the guards who were guarding the containment room said, they didn't let anyone in." Kyosuke added, "And even if they did, the person would have to get past the security gates, and they would've set off the alarms, which they didn't. Plus, even if he could get inside, the guards would've seen the door open, but none of them said that the door opened, either."

"Not only that," said Chisa, "Leon died too, remember? I saw the kid's body, he was bleeding from the mouth, and looked like he was in pain before he died."

"Which is odd." said Koichi, "Leon was showing no signs of any injuries or wounds that could've possibly killed him, so the poison must've come from somewhere, and I doubt he was just eating poisoned food or drinking poisoned drinks."

Everyone sighed before Kyosuke said, "It doesn't seem like there's any connection between the murders. First, we have Junko Enoshima's, Mukuro Ikusaba's, Yasuhiro Hagakure's, and Byakuya Togami's, all killed and staged to look like the victims were killed in an accident, then we have Sakura Ogami's, Kiyotaka Ishimaru's, and Hifumi Yamada's, killed off to frame Chihiro Fujisaki, and now we have Chihiro Fujisaki and Leon Kuwata, killed and framed as the victims were the culprits. I have a feeling that we're dealing with a serial killer."

"This is turning out to be a very bad week." Juzo sighed.

Jin looked out through the window and thought, "Hopefully, Kyouko has a better idea of what's going on than we do."

Wednesday:

At another high school called Riverbank Girl's High School, it was after school hours as a female student was walking outside the walkway to head to her class which was Biology Class before she stopped as she stumbled upon someone, and that someone was Kyouko Kirigiri.

"Excuse me, hi." Kyouko greeted, "My name is Kyouko Kirigiri, I'm the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Detective, and-"

The girl sighed and said to Kyouko with a look of disdain, "And let me guess, you're a student of Hope's Peak Academy?"

"Yes." said Kyouko, "And-"

"And let me guess, Hope's Peak sent you?" the girl glared, "Well, then, Let me tell you this the last time Hope's Peak came running their nose: I HAVEN'T seen her!"

Kyouko sighed and said while watching the girl walk past her, "Look, Ms. Hoshiko Himura, was it? I'm not here for the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Literary Writing Prodigy if that's what you're worried about."

"Her NAME is Toko Fukawa!" Hoshiko glared at Kyouko, "Not whatever stupid titles your school makes, and I'm in a rush right now."

"I'm here about Byakuya Togami," said Kyouko, "I believe he was murdered."

That stopped Hoshiko as she turned around in shock and asked, "What? By whom?"

"By an employee of the Togami Conglomerate." said Kyouko, "Or at least, someone is trying to make it look that way." She handed her a documented folder of the cause of Byakuya's death and said, "This is the result."

"I see." said Hoshiko as she read the documents, "So then, why did you come to me for?"

"I believe your biology skills would be of good use in determining a proper examination to confirm this case," said Kyouko, "I was wondering if you could take a look at the cause."

Hoshiko sighed and said, "I'd like to help you, but I really have to get to my next class."

"Isn't it supposed to be after school hours already?" said Kyouko, "You don't have any other classes unless you're here for tutorials."

"Okay, fine." said Hoshiko, "But first, can you explain why this is so important? If you want me to examine this cause, then you'll have to give me more reason than that. I know how much the Togami family is involved in the Togami Conglomerate, but what's in it for me? Besides, there are plenty of other biologists that are better than me, why have me specifically?"

"Because Hope's Peak may be in danger, and I need to keep this off radar," Kyouko explained before pulling her sunglasses down and said with a smirk, "After all, if it's an internal matter, then there's no reason to call the police, is there?"

Hoshiko's eyes widened at the sight of her purple eyes and said, "I guess there is none."

Kyouko continued, "Besides, I don't know where I can find another biologist who's a part of the Togami family, isn't that right, Hoshiko Himura?"

"I'm a distant cousin from his father's side." Hoshiko explained, "And yes, the Togami Conglomerate has a lot of influence on the Togami family. I have some of their influence too. After all, it's how I was able to enter a place like this."

"I know, you have an excellent academic record," said Kyouko, "Your family's money can only go so far."

"Yes, well, it doesn't make it any easier." Hoshiko glared, "Anyway, I guess I'll help you out. But, I can't promise you I'll find the results that you like."

"That's fine." said Kyouko, "Just enough is all I need."

In biology class, Hoshiko took a look at the result of Byakuya Togami's death which was caused when he was drinking his morning coffee served by the maids until he coughed out violently and fell to the floor and died. Many suspected that it was poison, but as Kyouko suspected when he died, some doctors and nurses didn't find any trace of poison of any kind inside his body. Still, it couldn't hurt to check the coffee products served by the maids.

Hoshiko checked on the coffee product as she took a sample of it and placed it and observed it on a microscope and said, "Well, as you said, there doesn't seem to be any poison in his coffee. The fact that the doctors and nurses didn't find any traces in the body either is pretty solid proof. If there was poison, the body would have at least had to have a tiny trace of it, no matter how little, no matter how small, or even if it was just a microscopic bit of poison, then the body would have had to show some kind of reaction. The fact that the doctors couldn't find anything is a dead giveaway that he wasn't poisoned."

"Then, what exactly killed him?" Kyouko asked.

"Whatever it was, I can tell you for certain that it wasn't biological at all." said Hoshiko, "In fact, it's not even natural. It looks to me like something small of some kind was inside the coffee, and then it somehow got inside his bloodstream and spread through his whole body and killed him. It was quick and clean. No trace of anything was left inside his body."

"A chemical of some kind?" said Kyouko, "Like a pill or something?"

"I'm not sure," said Hoshiko, "Whatever it is, it's not any sort of chemical I've ever seen. There's nothing that can kill like this that is organic."

"I see." said Kyouko, "Maybe it was an insect. You thinking a tarantula or something?"

"I doubt it." said Hoshiko, "If it were, Byakuya would've spat it out and the poison would've been in his saliva. Not even a tarantula is small enough to not get spit out the moment it tries to get inside his mouth, especially the ones that live in Asia. It's not even possible. And besides, if it were, the tarantula wouldn't have survived long enough in the cup of hot coffee. That, and it's not the season for tarantulas."

"Then, it must've been a bug of some kind." said Kyouko, "Something small enough and not poisonous. And the poison was small enough to not leave any trace, and it wasn't even poison."

"There are still too many options for that." said Hoshiko, "But at least it narrows things down a little."

"Then what was it?" Kyouko wondered.

"I'm not sure," said Hoshiko, "But, whatever it was, it wasn't natural. The only way to make something like this is through artificial means."

"You mean, something mechanical?" Kyouko suggested, "Like nanotech?"

"Sadly, I'm a biologist, not a computer scientist or a ballistic expert." said Hoshiko.

"Still, nanotechnology is based on biology." said Kyouko, "You might be able to find something. It's our best bet."

"I can't make the leap on a hunch." Hoshiko stated, "Not even the smallest living thing can survive in that kind of environment, much less a machine."

"Well, if you want, I can ask one of our Ultimate students if they could try to analyze it," said Kyouko, "He can be a little strange sometimes, but he is the best computer scientist I know."

"Thanks, but I think I'm good on that." said Hoshiko, "Anyway, I think we're done here. You should leave."

Kyouko stared at Hoshiko and sighed as she put her sunglasses back on before she began leaving, but not before noticing a school bag that didn't belong to Hoshiko and asked with a smirk, "You're hiding Toko Fukawa somewhere, aren't you?"

"What?" said Hoshiko, "N-No. Why would I be hiding her here?"

"Because you have to." Kyouko smirked, "She's part of this school, and if I recall, you're her only friend in this school who cares for her, aren't you? Unless this bag belongs to someone else?"

"Uh...well..." said Hoshiko, "Y-You're not wrong, but...it's not what you think."

"Then where is she?" Kyouko asked, "She should be around here, right?"

"She's...uh..." Hoshiko tried to think, "She's not...around. She's busy writing a novel and all. I'm helping her find a quiet place to write, that's all."

"Really?" Kyouko raised an eyebrow, "And when's the last time you two met? It must've been quite a while since she wasn't at the school ground yesterday."

Then, before she could ask any further, suddenly Kyouko's phone rang and she took out her phone saw it was her father calling, and answered it as she said, "It's Kyouko, go ahead."

"Kyouko, I've got bad news and worse news." said Jin, "Are you in a secure location right now?"

"Not currently." said Kyouko before she asked, "Chihiro Fujisaki is dead, isn't he?"

Jin sighed and said, "Yes, sadly, he is."

"I see." said Kyouko, "How's Mondo Owada handling it?"

"He's taking it a lot better than you think, but he's also taking it a lot worse," said Jin, "But right now, that's not what matters. Right now, we've found the connections. It looks like the deaths of Juno Enoshima, Mukuro Ikusaba, Byakuya Togami, Yasuhiro Hagakure, Sakura Ogami, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Hifumi Yamada, Chihiro Fujisaki, and Leon Kuwata are all connected."

"The students of Hope's Peak this year, Class 78." said Kyouko.

"You guessed it." said Jin, "Whoever our killer is, they're going after the candidates for the 78th class of Hope's Peak Academy."

"I see." said Kyouko, "So, then, who else is on the list?"

"That's the thing." said Jin, "Right now, the student we don't have with us are Sayaka Maizono the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Pop Sensational Idol, Aoi Asahina the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Swimmer, and Celestia Ludenberg the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Gambler, though they're still on the list of likely being the next target. And right now, the next target is Mondo Owada the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Biker Gang Leader, Toko Fukawa the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Literary Writing Prodigy, and finally, you."

"Well, under different circumstances, I'd be flattered, and a little relieved that I'm not the only one that the killer is after." said Kyouko with a smirk while looking around the biology class.

"This isn't the time for jokes, Kyouko." said Jin, "Anyway, Mondo is on his way to your location to pick you up, so you need to get yourself off the ground. But first, find Fukawa."

Kyouko smirked and said, "Funny thing is, old man, I already have."

"Wait, really?" said Jin, "Where is she?"

"In Riverbank Girl's High School," said Kyouko, "Don't worry, I'm keeping an eye on her, but I'm afraid there's gonna be, let's say complications. Tell Mondo to hurry and be there."

She then hung up the phone as she approached the closet before Hoshiko quickly blocked her way to the door and said, "I-I'm sorry, but you can't go in there."

"Hoshiko, move, now." Kyouko glared, "Or I'll make you move."

"You can't!" Hoshiko yelled.

"Oh, and why not?" Kyouko demanded, "Is it because Toko Fukawa is in there?"

Hoshiko gasped and said, "W-Well, I...uh..."

"Let me tell you something, Hoshiko." Kyouko told her, "Right now, I don't have time for games, and you are not making this any easier. So, you have a count of three to move aside, or I'm coming in."

"N-No, you can't!" Hoshiko exclaimed as she continued to block the door, "Toko's in danger! If you open that door-!"

"One...!" Kyouko began counting, "Two...!"

Suddenly, the closet door opened and Toko screamed, "N-NO, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!" as she stepped out of the closet before losing her balance and clumsily falling to the floor as Hoshiko and Kyouko gasped and looked down at Toko with looks of disbelief.

"Well, there you have it." said Kyouko with a smile, "Looks like your friend was just fine."

Toko quickly got up on her feet while adjusting her glasses and said with stutters, "I-It's not what you th-think!"

"R-Right," said Hoshiko, "Th-there's a reason she's here."

"Oh, I bet." Kyouko smirked, "You were hiding her here, right?"

"Uh...w-welll...uh..." Toko stuttered, "Th-that's not r-really w-what...um..."

"She came here to find some quiet place to write." said Hoshiko, trying to hide her obvious nervousness, "She couldn't find a nice quiet place anywhere else."

"Right." said Kyouko, not believing a thing they said before she stopped and heard something in the distance as she turned around and looked through the window, much to the girls' confusion.

"W-What?" Toko stuttered, "W-What did y-you hear?"

Kyouko didn't respond as she kept staring through the window until Hoshiko asked, "Kirigiri-san, is everything okay?"

"Toko Fukawa," said Kyouko, still keeping her eyes through the window, "We need to go, now!"

"H-Huh?" Toko gasped, "Wh-Why? Wh-What's going on?"

"I'll explain later." said Kyouko, "Right now, we need to move."

Meanwhile, out on the streets, Koichi was driving his car to head to Hope's Peak Academy with bottles of coffee that he ordered for the teachers and staff, keeping himself sobber, but still feeling a little tipsy from last night's drinks, and he was on the verge of falling asleep again.

"Man, I hate the day shifts," he groaned while driving, "I feel like such a zombie. Man, if it weren't for the fact that the headmaster wants me to work, then I wouldn't be awake right now. I wonder if they'll mind if I stop by and get a soda or something."

But then, he stopped the car as he noticed something that was in front of the building of Hope's Peak Academy. There were multiple cars parked in front of the school gates that belonged to the Japanese Government, and the men that were there looked like they were armed as if ready to break in.

"Oh man, what now?" Koichi sighed, "First, my boss calls me for a meeting, and now, the government is at the school?"

When they saw the cars that belonged to the Japanese Government through the office window, Jin, Chisa, and Kyosuke were a little shocked and worried, especially Jin.

"What are they doing here?" Jin asked, "Why are they here?"

"Maybe it's because of what's going on with the killings?" Chisa suggested.

"Maybe, but, why are they here now?" said Jin, "They've never come by until now."

"Well, they are part of the government." Kyosuke told him, "Maybe it's an emergency."

"Let's get down there and see what they want." said Jin.

Once they got out of the building and headed to the school gates guarded by Juzo, Jin saw the men of the Japanese Government waiting for him and asked, "Gentlemen, what is the meaning of this? What's going on here?"

"Headmaster Kirigiri, I'm afraid there's been a complication with Hope's Peak Academy." said an executive approaching them.

"And you are?" Kyosuke asked.

"Oh, forgive me." said the executive, "I am Executive Shoji Suzuhara, I'm from the Japanese government."

"I'm aware, and I'm Headmaster Jin Kirigiri." said Jin, "But what are you doing here?"

"Well, you see-"

Before Shoji could answer, Jin's phone began ringing, each ringing interrupting what he was going to say, much to Shoji's annoyance, and when he noticed that Jin was going to answer his phone, he asked, "Please tell me you're not going to take that call?"

"I'm sorry, sir, but this could be important." said Jin, "I'll just be a moment."

Back at Riverbank Girl's High School, Kyouko was dragging Toko through the school hallway while trying to contact Jin as she grumbled and said, "C'mon, old man, pick up the phone. Pick up the phone."

"W-Where a-are we g-going?" Toko stuttered, "H-Hey! Wh-where a-are we going?"

"Toko Fukawa, please try not to speak." Kyouko told her, "Right now, I need to make an urgent call."

"H-Hey, c'mon!" Toko managed to break away from Kyouko's hand, "At least t-tell me w-why we're running a-away!"

"Look, you'll know soon enough." said Kyouko, "Right now, you and Hoshiko are not safe here."

Then, suddenly, the noise from the distance became louder as they heard the sound of helicopters and military tanks approaching the school, much to their surprise.

"W-W-What's going on?" Toko stuttered nervously, "W-Who are they?"

"Military!" Kyouko replied.

"M-M-MILITARY?!" Toko screamed.

"Yes, and they're probably here for you." said Kyouko.

Outside, the Japanese military soldiers got out of their military vehicles and readied their weapons as they were all around the school, making sure that their target does not escape.

"Alright, look alive, people!" said their commanding officer, "Stay in your positions, and if you spot our target and if she does anything, do not hesitate! Remember, the orders are to shoot on sight!"

"YES, SIR!"

The commander then called out to the school, "Toko Fukawa, c'mon out! We know you're the serial killer who goes out killing young boys known as Genocide Jack! Surrender now, or we'll shoot! You have nowhere to go!"

Upon hearing that, Toko paled as she began panicking and breathing heavily as she tried to think of a way out, but nothing came to mind.

"Oh god, oh god, oh god!" Toko panicked, "Th-They f-found me! They found out my secret! B-But how?! How do they know about me being my alter ego?!"

Then, Jin answered Kyouko's call and said, "What is it? I'm a little busy right now."

"You're busy?" said Kyouko, "Really? Right now? Are you aware of what's going on in the school district on my side? Some people are after Toko for being a serial killer named Genocide Jack."

"Who is it, the police?" Jin asked.

"Worse," said Kyouko, "The Japanese Military."

"The MILITARY?!" Jin gasped, "Are you sure?"

"I'm pretty damn sure, old man." said Kyouko, "The military is here at Riverbank Girl's High School with guns and tanks and helicopters right now."

"Damn." said Jin, "Look, just stay calm and try to handle the situation and try to defuse it somehow. Mondo Owada is on his way to you. I'm having trouble on my end here."

"What is it, angry parents?" Kyouko asked.

"Worse." said Jin, "The Japanese Government."

"The GOVERNMENT?" Kyouko asked, "What the hell are they doing there?"

"I don't know, but whatever it is, I'm trying to deal with it," said Jin, "Just try not to make the situation worse. Handle the situation on your end and try to defuse it, then get to ground."

Kyouko sighed and said, "Yeah, easier said than done, but I'll try."

After the call ended, Jin put his phone back in his pocket as Shoji asked, "Trouble?"

"Yeah, but it's not your problem." said Jin, "So, anyway, why exactly are you here, Mr. Suzuhara?"

"Oh, well, you see, there's been some concerns about the school," said Shoji, "There's been talk about how the school is becoming a dangerous environment for the students."

"I'm afraid I don't understand." said Jin, "Care to elaborate on that?"

"Well, the students are saying that there have been recent cases of recent murders of students, specifically those who would be students of this year, Class 78, and it has become quite a concern." said Shoji, "Now, the parents are worried that the school has become a dangerous place and are concerned about their safety."

Meanwhile, back at Riverbank Girl's High School, Kyouko was trying to reason with the Japanese Military.

"Look, I know that Toko Fukawa is a suspect in the murder of the victims of young boys, but you can't just go storming in and shoot her on the spot." said Kyouko, "Right now, Toko Fukawa is in my custody, and she is not to be harmed, so there's no need for the military to come barging in. So, if you can please just lower your guns and get the hell out of here."

Toko looked scared and concerned as she listened, wondering if the military was gonna listen to her.

"Sorry, but you're not in charge here." said the commander, "I'm in charge, and right now, you are in the way. I'm gonna have to ask you to stand aside, or we will have to resort to violence."

"You're really gonna shoot a bunch of high school students in a school?" Kyouko asked, "A lot of the students here have their family watching, you know, and not only will the media have a field day, but a lot of the other parents will probably take their children and withdraw their kids from this school."

"We have the orders from the government, and the people's trust," said the commander, "If we have to resort to violence, then so be it."

Suddenly, Toko was hit by a bullet as she was shot in the shoulder, knocking her back against the wall as she screamed in pain and agony.

"HEY!" Kyouko yelled, "DON'T SHOOT!"

Even the commander was shocked to see what happened before he turned to his men and shouted, "Who the hell opened fire without my order?!"

"Not us, sir!" one of the men said, "We're all clear!"

"What the hell is going on?" the commander wondered before he ordered, "Get a medic over here now!"

Kyouko hurried to Toko to check on her as she said, "Fukawa, you okay?"

"N-No..." Toko whimpered, "Th-that h-hurt...th-they sh-shot me..."

"Fukawa, it'll be okay." said Kyouko, "Just look at me and keep talking."

"O-Okay." Toko winced.

"Can you still feel your arm?" Kyouko asked, "Or anything else? Does it hurt?"

"Y-Yes, m-my sh-shoulder hurts l-like hell." Toko whimpered.

"Okay, just keep looking at me and nowhere else, okay?" said Kyouko, "Keep calm."

Kyouko took a quick glance at the wound and said, "Well, the bullet didn't go too deep, it's just barely inside the shoulder. The medic will have to get the bullet out."

Toko slowly turned to her shoulder as she moved her hand away from it and saw blood, and suddenly something deep inside of her was coming, as she could feel herself changing.

"Fukawa, stop looking at the wound!" Kyouko warned, "Don't look at it."

Back at Hope's Peak Academy, Shoji gave out a serious look as he said to Jin and his staff members, "Headmaster Kirigiri, you've done a great service to this country by helping out the students to achieve their talent and helping them to become the next generation, but unfortunately, there are a few things we must discuss about your school, and you are failing to comprehend the severity of the situation. Right now, there have been some complaints about how dangerous the school is. There have been numerous murders happening on the school grounds, and right now, the safety of the students is a big concern."

"Oh, I'm comprehending just fine, Mr. Suzuhara." Jin glared, "You're just not telling us anything that we don't already know. What I don't get is why you're telling us about this now."

Back at Riverbank Girl's High School, Toko began to feel herself about to change into her different personality as she began breathing erratically and twitching uncontrollably.

"Fukawa, keep it together." Kyouko warned, "Keep looking at me and stay calm. Help is on the way, just stay calm and keep looking at me."

"N-No...I-I can't...!" Toko panicked, "I-I can't hold it any longer...! K-Kyouko...y-you need...you need to run! S-Save yourself, p-please! It's the only way...!"

"Fukawa, calm down." Kyouko told her, "Just-"

"P-Please...!" Toko panicked before she screamed out, "GET OUT OF HERE! RUN!"

Before Kyouko could try and stop her, suddenly, she was knocked away from Toko as she landed on the ground, and when she got up, she gasped as she saw the transformation of Toko.

Toko got up looking down on the ground before her face revealed itself as she changed into her serial killer alter ego, Genocide Jack, as she laughed out maniacally with her very long tongue sticking out and her blood-red eyes.

"Upupupupu~" she giggled, "Man, I was starting to feel so cramped inside there, but now, I'm freeeeee! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!"

"Damn it." Kyouko cursed, "Looks like the secret is out. But, what the hell happened to her?"

"MEN!" the commander ordered, "Open fire and take her down!"

Genocide Jack looked at the Japanese Military before she grinned wickedly and licked her lips as she said, "Ooooh~ I can't wait~ So many targets, so many options~ Let's do this!"

As the men opened fire at the serial killer, Genocide Jack began laughing maniacally as she used the scissors as a shield to protect herself from the bullets.

"What the hell is this thing?!" one of the soldiers shouted, "Who is she?!"

"It's her!" said another soldier, "She's the one who killed the young boys and is responsible for the deaths of the students at the school!"

"Damn, so it's true!" said the commander, "Alright, let's get rid of her, and quickly!"

The soldiers kept open fire while Genocide Jack effortlessly dodged their attacks before she quickly leaped toward them and used her scissors to cut the soldiers by the neck, causing them to fall to the floor.

"Ah, yes, the sweet smell of despair is filling the air," said Genocide Jack as she licked her bloody scissors, "And I am loving every second of it~"

Then, a few more soldiers tried shooting her, but Genocide Jack quickly evaded the attack as she jumped on the wall and used her scissors to cut them across the stomach before they fell to the ground, and she laughed, "Ah, ah, ah~ You have to be faster than that!"

Kyouko took cover as she watched the who thing happening as the situation was getting out of hand and there was no telling what else might happen next.

"Dammit!" Kyouko cursed, "This is bad!"

The military then tried firing their tanks while the helicopters used artilleries, but Genocide Jack kept dodging the attacks, jumping from building to building, before she leaped up into the air and attacked the helicopters, cutting them apart as they exploded into flames.

"Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Genocide Jack laughed, "C'mon, you idiots! I'm not that easy to catch!"

When Genocide Jack jumped down from the helicopter and landed back on the ground, the tanks and the men kept firing their attacks, but she used the scissors to block the bullets and then jumped in the air and stabbed the tank with her scissors, causing it to explode, and then jumped to another one and repeated the same attack.

"Ha ha, you can't touch me, you bastards!" said Genocide Jack, "I'm the unstoppable, unbeatable, and indestructible Genocide Jack! No matter what you throw at me, I'll always come back!"

Out on the road, Mondo saw smoke coming from far away as he saw a helicopter falling to the ground and realized that something was wrong.

"What the hell is going on here?" Mondo wondered, "I knew this was a bad idea. Hang on, Kyouko, I'm coming."

He then revved the motorcycle and drove off to head to Riverbank Girl's High School. But then, just as he drove faster, the front tire of his motorcycle got punctured by something as it exploded, causing Mondo to suddenly lose control of the bike and he screamed as he tried and failed to regain control.

"AH, FUCK!"

He ended up crashing the motorcycle and was thrown off his bike and sent flying off to the cliff and he began falling down into the dark forest.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

He fell into the dark forest and landed on and got impaled by spikes as he screamed in agony and pain.

"AH, FUCK!" Mondo screamed as he grabbed the spikes impaled on his body, "FUCK! FUCK! GOD DAMMIT! OWW! FUCKING, FUCKING HELL, SHIT!"

Mondo tried to break free but failed, and soon enough, he was losing a lot of blood and was slowly getting weaker as he tried to stay awake.

"Fuck, shit...!" Mondo cursed, "C'mon...stay awake, man...! You can do this...!"

But then, Mondo was soon slowly dying as he lost consciousness, and after that, all was quiet as he went limp.

Meanwhile, Kyouko kept hiding and watching as the soldiers kept firing their attacks, but Genocide Jack managed to dodge their attacks and kill a few of the men, and soon enough, they were beginning to run out of ammo and all the weapons they had left were knives, handguns, and grenades.

"C'mon, what are you, amateurs?!" Genocide Jack mocked, "You call yourselves soldiers?! Pathetic!"

Then, the soldiers took out their handguns and readied them, and prepared to open fire, but Genocide Jack was quicker than them as she jumped from the walls and cut the soldiers with her scissors.

"C'mon, c'mon, is that the best you got?" Genocide Jack taunted, "I expected a little bit more than that, and honestly, you're disappointing me."

"Hey!" the commander shouted angrily as he brought out his handgun and opened fire, "You want some of this?! C'mon!"

Genocide Jack laughed maniacally as she effortlessly deflected every shot the commander fired with her scissors as she said with laughter, "Oh, ho, ho, ho! Now, now, you have my attention! Now, let's have some fun, shall we?"

"S-Sir!" one of the men cried, "What are you doing?! Run!"

The commander kept firing, but Genocide Jack deflected the shots as she kept moving towards the commander while laughing maniacally and the commander kept firing with fire in his eyes.

"No, stop!" Kyouko heard Hoshiko scream as she ran to try and stop what was going on, "Don't shoot her, please!"

"Get out of the way, girl!" the commander warned, "Move, or you're gonna get shot, too!"

"No, please!" Hoshiko cried, "Please, don't kill her! Please! She's not a monster, I swear! Don't kill her!"

"Move aside, now!" the commander ordered as he roared and fired at Genocide Jack.

"Stop!" Hoshiko begged.

But then, Kyouko grabbed Hoshiko and pushed her away to cover for safety as the commander kept firing at Genocide Jack.

"What are you doing, Kirigiri-san?!" Hoshiko cried, "That's my friend! I'm trying to save her!"

"She's not gonna be saved, Hoshiko." Kyouko told her, "There's nothing you can do."

"B-But, I can't leave her like this!" Hoshiko sobbed, "Please, Kirigiri-san, please help me! I can't just sit back and watch as Toko gets killed!"

"Hoshiko, look around you," said Kyouko, "You'll get yourself killed. Look."

Hoshiko looked around and saw the soldiers dead on the floor and the tanks and helicopters destroyed, and Genocide Jack was still standing as she kept deflecting the commander's shots, and the commander kept roaring and firing.

"Please, please stop!" Hoshiko cried.

"And besides," said Kyouko, "The military weren't the ones who instigated this, nor was it Toko!"

"W-What?!" said Hoshiko, shocked, "T-Then who did?!"

"I don't know!" said Kyouko as she looked over to see the commander was still firing at Genocide Jack, "All I know is that whoever is responsible, they've been planning this the whole time."

"I-Is that true?" Hoshiko asked, "Th-then...who is behind this?"

"I don't know, and right now, it's not important," said Kyouko.

Then, Genocide Jack managed to get a clean shot at the commander as she cut him by the hand to make him drop his weapon, and then she leaped in the air and cut him across the stomach, making him fall to the ground, and then, she walked towards him with her tongue hanging out as she licked her lips, and he could only crawl away as he was bleeding out, but was blocked by a wall as Genocide Jack approached him.

"G-Get away..." the commander begged, "G-Get away, monster...! GET AWAY, MONSTER!"

"Wel, well, well, it has been fun and all~" said Genocide Jack as she got closer and closer to the commander, "But unfortunately, our time together has come to an end~"

"N-No...no, please..." the commander begged, "No, no, please, don't kill me...please...please..."

Genocide Jack grinned wickedly as she licked her lips and got closer, and then, the commander screamed, "NO! NOOOOOOOOOOO!"

But then, just as she was about to finish him off, Genocide Jack's body, and by extension Toko's, was being to swell as her muscles suddenly began inflating, much to Genocide Jack's confusion as she said, "Huh? Wh-what the...?! H-Hey, what's going on here?! H-Hey!"

The commander looked in shock as Genocide Jack was inflating and was screaming in agony as her body was growing, and she was struggling to even move, and everyone watched in horror as Genocide Jack was growing bigger from the inflation of her body and her muscles swelling.

"Toko?!" said Hoshiko, shocked and confused as she screamed, "TOKO, NO! HANG ON, TOKO, PLEASE!"

Genocide Jack kept inflating bigger and bigger as she struggled to move, and everyone kept watching in horror and awe as her body was growing bigger and bigger.

"Oh god, no!" said Hoshiko, terrified.

Genocide Jack tried to fight against the swelling, but the more she did, the more she began to swell and grow bigger and bigger until eventually, she began to burst and exploded into millions of pieces, causing everyone to cover themselves from the explosion of dust and blood splattering everywhere.

When the dust cleared, Genocide Jack, and by extension, Toko Fukawa, was gone, much to the shock and horror of everyone there.

"T-Toko..." Hoshiko whimpered, horrified, "No...n-no...this can't be real...it's a nightmare...a bad dream..."

Kyouko could only look at the spot where Genocide Jack had once stood and saw that she was gone, and Hoshiko, seeing her friend dead, got down on her knees and could only cry in her hands in anguish as she sobbed uncontrollably.

"No..." Hoshiko cried, "God no...Toko...no, no, no...oh god, no...!"

Kyouko could only look on as Hoshiko cried and sobbed in despair, and she knew that this would be one of the most devastating events of her life, and she would never be the same.

"Oh, Toko," Hoshiko sobbed, "Why...? Why...?"

Back at Hope's Peak Academy, Jin looked sternly at Shoji and said, "Declaring a war will not be an option, Mr. Suzuhara. The school is already struggling to survive, and right now, we are trying to find the killer and bring him or her to justice."

"But, Headmaster Kirigiri," said Shoji, "If the students feel as though their lives are in danger, then what choice do we have? What if one of the students is killed during their time at the school? Are you willing to put their lives on the line like that?"

"It's not that simple, and you know that." said Jin, "Look, right now, we have the same enemy. The person who is the murderer killed these students, GOOD students! And if the killer is allowed to continue his killing spree, then it won't matter if the students are at school or not, they'll still be killed, and not only that, but the school will also be targeted, and we can't afford that, because it will destroy the reputation of the school, and there will be no more future for the students. We need to find the killer and stop them before things get out of hand, and that's what we're trying to do."

"Okay, fine, I understand that." said Shoji, "Then I will need you to find that killer for the government and bring him to justice."

"We will." said Jin, "But you're gonna have to give us time."

"Well, that is understandable," said Shoji, "And you can take all the time you need, but I'll have to remind you that this killer must be stopped, and the people need answers, and right now, the people are getting more and more anxious, and the parents are getting worried, and we can't allow the killer to get away with this, especially since the school is involved. So, you have until the end of the week to find the assassin, because if you don't, the Japanese Government will take drastic measures."

"Understood," said Jin, "And the school will find the killer and bring them to justice. I'll make sure of it."

After the Japanese government had left, Jin sighed and ran his hand through his hair, stressed.

"Man, I can't believe that they are forcing our hands." said Jin, "They're going to go to war over the students."

"What can we do?" asked Chisa, "We have to find the killer before the end of the week, or they're going to go to-" Suddenly, she received a call and picked up as she listened before she said with horror, "Oh, no...! Mondo Owada...is dead...?!"

Jin and Kyosuke turned to her, shocked and surprised by the news.

"What did you say?!" said Jin.

"I-I don't know." said Chisa, "Some passerby came and found his body and called the police. He was impaled on spikes."

"What?!" said Kyosuke.

Suddenly, Jin got a call from Kyouko as he answered it and asked, "Kyouko, what happened?"

"Toko's dead, and I'm pretty sure the whole neighborhood heard." said Kyouko.

"Toko, she's dead?" Jin asked.

"Yep, and you're not gonna believe how," said Kyouko, "I'm gonna need backup to clear out the area, and the local law enforcement will have to take over."

"Alright, just keep the area secure, and don't let anyone else in, and the local law enforcement will be there soon." said Jin, "Mondo Owada is dead, too. He was impaled by spikes."

"On his way to me." Kyouko guessed.

"Yes." Jin confirmed.

"Dammit." said Kyouko, "This is just what I need, more bodies and more messes."

"I know, and I'm sorry." said Jin, "The situation is not going well on this side, either. The Japanese Government is not happy with the school."

"They're not the only ones," said Kyouko.

"Just hold tight, the police and the local law enforcement are on their way." said Jin, "We'll have one of them pick you up and get you back."

"Don't bother." said Kyouko, "I intend to continue my investigation, so I'll just meet up with you later."

"Are you sure?" Jin asked, "Because we could really use you."

"Trust me, I'm needed more here." said Kyouko, "See ya, old man."

Then, she hung up, and Jin sighed, "Well, she's not budging."

"I'll get the police and the local law enforcement over there." said Kyosuke.

"Thanks." said Jin, "This is gonna be a long day."

After the whole ordeal and the military left, as police began investigating the death of Toko Fukawa/Genocide Jack, Kyouko walked up to Hoshiko, who was covered in a blanket, and asked, "How're you feeling?"

Hoshiko remained silent for a moment, not answering how she was feeling, before she said, "Toko...she has Dissociative Identity Disorder."

"I know." said Kyouko, "Her other personality is her alter-ego, Genocide Jack, or that's what we know her as."

"It's a mental disorder, a psychosis," said Hoshiko, "Toko has had it ever since she was a little girl, growing up with abusive parents, and I was the only one who knew about it when we became close."

"I know, I figured it out," said Kyouko.

"But the military didn't know." Hoshiko went on, "And I was so scared for Toko, and when they opened fire on her, I couldn't help it. She didn't mean to kill those boys, and she didn't mean to kill all those men, either. She was just trying to protect herself."

"Yeah, and the military should have known better." said Kyouko.

"It's not their fault, it's mine," said Hoshiko, "They were only following orders, and if I hadn't been there, they wouldn't have fired on Toko, and Toko wouldn't have changed, and she wouldn't have...have..."

Hoshiko started sobbing, and Kyouko gave her a hug and said, "Shh, it's okay, just cry. Let it out, it's okay. You're safe, now."

Kyouko then took Hoshiko to a nearby ambulance where the paramedics were and had her treated.

After they left, Kyouko then took out the folder of the information on Class 78, which included profiles of the students.

"Toko Fukawa, huh?" Kyouko wondered, "So, she's Genocide Jack. Well, that's interesting."

Kyouko then took out Toko's profile and saw a picture of her and read, "Toko Fukawa, a student in Class 78 and an author. She's been bullied all her life due to her shyness and was often the target of physical and verbal abuse by others. But despite that, she's still able to write books, and her favorite subject is English. And according to the report, she has Dissociative Identity Disorder."

Suddenly, the image of the photo on Toko's profile, showing her, appeared in front of Kyouko, and suddenly, her body was swollen and inflated, and her eyes were white, and her tongue was hanging out, and she was bleeding all over, and her hair was a mess, and she was screaming and crying out in agony and despair, and it was all Kyouko could see.

Kyouko sighed and said, "The murder of Class 78 is getting out of hand. I can't let the killer get away with this. But, I'm also a target, so there's a chance that he'll come after me. But maybe, if I can't get help from inside of our school, then maybe...I can get help from the outside." She then took out a document that contained information about Makoto Naegi, the supposed-to-be Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Lucky Student until he turned down the offer, and said with a smile, "And I know just the person for the job."

Meanwhile, at Hope's Peak Academy, Jin was at his office, stressed out from the whole situation, before a knock was heard at his door.

"Come in," said Jin.

The door opened, and Koichi entered with bottles of coffee and said, "Sorry I'm late. I was gonna head over earlier, but I got held up with some government blocking my way."

"It's alright, Kizakura." said Jin, "Just shut the door."

"So, any luck?" Koichi asked.

"No." said Jin, "We haven't had any luck finding the killer."

"Well, you're not gonna like what the media has been saying." said Koichi.

"I'm aware." said Jin, "You've tried to tell me that the school has been losing the public's trust. They think the school is a danger zone, and that's why they're planning on sending their children to other schools. I know, but right now, that's not important."

"You're not the one who's having to deal with angry parents, Jin." said Koichi, "And the Japanese government is threatening to declare war and shut down our school if we don't catch the killer soon."

"I know." said Jin, "They already came over and told me."

"Jin, the students are starting to feel unsafe." said Koichi, "Not to mention that they're losing confidence in the school."

"That's because the school isn't safe," said Jin, "Right now, there's a murderer out there, and until he or she is caught, the students are not safe." He then sighed and said, "I just hope Kyouko gives me something soon."

During the night at the local library, Kyouko was on the computer looking through the archived information on Hope's Peak such as the students' and teachers' information for clues and even some recent events that happened last year, which she suspects may have played a big part in the murders of the students of Class 78.

She searched through until she stumbled upon information about a Reserve Course Student going by the name Sato, as she said, "Huh...I knew it. So, the story of a Reserve Course Student who died of an accident was just a cover-up for that Reserve Course Student being killed by a student from the Main Course. This must be the killer's motive. I knew he had one."

She continued to search, and after a while, she found a picture of the Reserve Course Student Sato, a girl who had violet eyes and long, dark-green, wavy hair that reached past her shoulders. She wore the Reserve Course uniform, which consisted of a long-sleeved dress shirt, a red necktie, a black-pleated skirt, and brown shoes with matching socks.

"But the question is, why pick Class 78? Why target us when they could've targeted the one responsible?" Kyouko questioned, "Unless...they're planning something bigger." She then sighed and said, "For now, I'll upload everything I've gathered and send them to him via email."

She typed and uploaded everything to her email on the computer and sent them to a specific email address before she sighed and muttered quietly, "I'm counting on you, Makoko Naegi."

Suddenly she heard footsteps coming from behind her, and she knew that it was the killer who has come for her next. She got up from her seat and said, "You won't win, not against me, and not against Hope's Peak."

She turned around and got in a stance, ready to fight. But before she could react, the mysterious killer charged first and caught her off guard as they punched her in the face, knocking her back against the table and knocking the computer behind her down.

Kyouko tried to recover, but the mysterious killer quickly grabbed her and threw her down on the floor before kicking her in the ribs and stomach, causing her to roll across the floor.

"Damn...!" Kyouko grunted, "Nanotechnology...you're using that as a weapon?!"

The mysterious killer then charged at her and delivered a barrage of punches to her face and stomach before grabbing her by the arm and tossing her towards the bookshelves, causing her to crash against the shelves, making a loud crash, and all the books fell on her.

Kyouko groaned and coughed, and when she looked up, the mysterious killer was gone.

"Dammit...!" Kyouko cursed as she tried to get up and look for the killer, before the killer came behind her and punched her in the back with the nanotech-enhanced gloves, sending her flying across the room and crashing into the bookshelf again.

"Dammit, stop hiding and fight me!" Kyouko ordered.

Then, the mysterious killer charged toward her, and before Kyouko could react, the killer delivered a knee strike to her face, followed by a kick to her side, causing her to stumble back.

Kyouko managed to regain her footing, but the mysterious killer quickly grabbed her and kicked her in the chest, causing her to fall back and crash into a nearby table.

Just then, a call was being made to her phone and she saw that it was her father calling, and she immediately answered, and she yelled, "FATHER!"

"KYOUKO?!" Jin yelled on the other line, "Kyouko! Are you alright?! What happened?!"

"I'm in trouble, and the killer is here!" said Kyouko, "They're attacking me, and they're using nanotechnology to enhance their attacks!"

"WHAT?!" Jin yelled, shocked.

"I can't hold them off forever, and I can't keep running from them, either!" Kyouko shouted, "I need help!"

"Hold on, just hold on, sweetheart, help is on the way," Jin told her.

"Father, wait, listen!" said Kyouko, "The killer is...it's-!"

Before she could answer, Kyouko was suddenly grabbed by the neck as the mysterious killer began lifting her up and choking her, cutting her air supply.

"GAK!" Kyouko choked, struggling to break free from the killer's grip on their hand, which was wrapped around her throat, and was covered with the nanotech, too.

"KYOUKO!" Jin yelled, worried.

"Gak...!" Kyouko choked, "Let...me go...!"

The mysterious killer didn't let go as he continued choking her, making her drop her phone on the ground as it fell out of her grasp.

"NO, KYOUKO!" Jin yelled, worried, "KYOUKO, ARE YOU THERE?! KYOUKO!"

"Gah...!" Kyouko choked as the mysterious killer choked her harder, "Let...me...go...! Gak...!"

The mysterious killer tightened their grip and lifted her higher off the ground, and Kyouko kept struggling and trying to get the killer to let her go, but the killer wouldn't budge.

Then, the mysterious killer snapped her neck, killing her instantly as she fell limp, and the mysterious killer dropped her on the floor.

"KYOUKO?!" Jin yelled, "KYOUKO!"

The mysterious killer stomped on the phone, smashing it and cutting off the call, and then walked away and disappeared.

After the mysterious killer had left, Kyouko's body was left alone in the library, lying on the floor.

At Hope's Peak, Jin looked horrified as he was cut off from the call as his phone was making beeping noises.

"N-No...no, no, no, no...!" said Jin, shaking in horror and fear, "Please, no...!"

He couldn't believe it; his daughter had just died. He tried calling her again, but the phone kept going to voicemail.

"Please, Kyouko..." Jin pleaded as tears ran down his face, "Don't leave me...don't go...please, Kyouko, please...!"

He tried calling her again and again, but it kept going to voicemail, and it seemed like his world was falling apart.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" Jin began crying before he screamed, "KYOUKO!"

As he sobbed, Koichi and Chisa, along with a few other faculty members, entered his office as they all heard his screams and were concerned about him.

"Jin?!" said Chisa, "What's wrong?! Are you alright?!"

"I can't...!" Jin cried, "Kyouko, she...!"

"What is it?!" said Chisa, "What happened to Kyouko?! Tell me!"

"Kyouko is dead." Jin said tearfully.

Chisa was shocked to hear this, and Koichi looked surprised and saddened.

"What?" said Chisa, "How...how did she die?"

"The killer got her." Jin cried, "He used nanotechnology to enhance his strength and killed her."

"Oh, no...!" said Chisa, horrified, "Jin, I'm so sorry."

"Dammit!" Kyosuke slammed his fist on the wall, "And now we have no proof of who the killer is!"

Everyone remained silent while Jin cried his heart out for the loss of his daughter.

Thursday:

It was a normal day at his normal school, and Makoto Naegi continued on with his life like any normal kid would, even after hearing the news of the murder of the Class 78 students reached the public.

He was putting away his books and notebooks in his school bag when his female classmate and friend Maiya Suzumiya came and greeted him, "Hey, Naegi! Are you about to head home?"

"Yeah, Suzumiya," said Makoto, "I have a lot of homework, and I wanna be ready for the exams."

"Ah, that's right, the exams are coming up soon." said Maiya, "Say, can I come to your place so we can study together?"

"Sure, but I can't stay too late," said Makoto, "I have to get plenty of rest. I'm sure you do, too."

"I know, I know." said Maiya, "So, let's go!"

Makoto and Maiya then left the classroom and went to the school entrance, where they met up with their male classmate and friend Ichirou Kurata as he greeted, "Hey, guys."

"Hey, Kurata," said Maiya, "Do you wanna come over and study for the exams with us?"

"I'd love to." said Ichirou, "I got nothing better to do anyway." He then smiled at Naegi and said, "By the way, Naegi, aren't you glad that you turned down the offer of going to Hope's Peak?"

"U-Uh...yeah...I-I guess." said Makoto, "I mean, my life's been pretty uneventful, but I guess that's not a bad thing."

"Yeah, besides, with all that stuff going on with the school, the last thing I wanna do is to get caught up in it," said Ichirou, "Especially when those murders happened."

Maiya groaned and said, "This is why I hate you discouraging people when something good happens to people! You always gotta rain on everyone's parade."

"Well, what can I say, I'm a pessimist." said Ichirou.

"No, you're just a jerk," said Maiya, "Honestly, it's a miracle that you don't have any friends."

Makoto laughed as he and his friends walked out of school and when to his house.

At his house, as Maiya and Ichirou went to the dining room and Komaru was watching her favorite idol Sayaka Maizono and her idol group on TV, Makoto went up stair to get his laptop and bring it downstairs for him to use. But then, just as he was about to, Makoto noticed an email message from someone, and it said:

To: Makoto Naegi

From: Kyouko Kirigiri

Subject: Important

Naegi, I'm sending you this email because there's a case that only you can solve.

"Huh?" said Makoto, confused, before he opened up the email with showed a lot of documents, as well as a video message played by Kyouko before her death.

He then pressed play as the video began.

"Hello, Makoto Naegi," said Kyouko, "You don't know me, and I'm sure you've never heard of me before, but I know who you are. I'm Kyouko Kirigiri, the Ultimate/Super High School Level Detective at Hope's Peak Academy. And I need your help. If you're watching this, then I'm probably already dead by now. But that's not important. The fact is, there's a serial killer on the loose, and they've been targeting the students at my school, specifically Class 78, including myself, and I need your help. The reason I'm asking you is because I believe you're the only one who can solve this case. In this email, there is information that you can look into. They are the proof and motives of why the killer is targeting us Class 78 students. I hope you'll do what's right and help the school. Thank you. Oh, and one more thing: when you go and bring this to Hope's Peak Academy, please tell them this. 'It's all about Sato.' Don't worry about what it means, they'll know. And who knows, maybe you'll figure it out yourself. But in any case, my time is up, so I'm leaving it up to you. Good luck, Makoto Naegi.'"

Then, the video ended, leaving Makoto confused and shocked.

"What?" said Makoto, "Sato? What's that mean?" He then looked at the documents that Kyouko sent him via email and said, "In any case, I should check these out."

He read through the documents and saw the reports and evidence about the students of Class 78 and the deaths of the Reserve Course Student Sato. He then noticed that a student in Class 78 was Toko Fukawa, who has Dissociative Identity Disorder.

"Dissociative Identity Disorder..." Makoto read, "I remember hearing about that. So, the girl named Toko Fukawa has a mental disorder that causes her to develop another personality, which is Genocide Jack. And everyone's cause of death...they seem to have one thing in common...nanotech."

Makoto continued searching through the documents until he saw a picture of a girl named Sato, the Reserve Course Student, who had been killed by a Main Course Student.

"I know what their motive is," said Makoto, "But I still don't know who the killer is and why he's killing them. And what did Kirigiri mean by 'It's all about Sato'? What does that even mean?"

Just then, Komaru came up the stairs and saw him, and asked, "Hey, what's that?"

"N-Nothing, just some documents," said Makoto, "Anyway, I gotta get back to doing homework with my friends." He looked back at the documents and said to himself, "I'll keep looking into it, later. Maybe there's something else I missed."

He closed his laptop and went back downstairs to join Maiya and Ichirou. As they studied, Makoto thought about the email that Kyouko sent him, and he wondered if he should do what she says and try and solve the case. But then, he remembered the time he almost accepted the offer to go to Hope's Peak, and he wondered if he should've done that instead.

"Hey, guys," said Makoto, "I've been thinking…if I'd accepted going to Hope's Peak, how do you think things would've been different? At least, for me."

Maiya thought about it before she said with a smile, "Well, Naegi, I think things would be a bit different for you, but not much. You would still be you, and you would still be our friend, and I don't think anything would change. But I'm just guessing."

Ichirou huffed and said, "Well, I think things would've turned out very worse for you. Especially since you would have been one of the targets of the killer. And I also think you would have died. So, I'm glad you turned it down, otherwise, you would have been one of the casualties in the Class 78 incident. Plus, with the bad rumors about Hope's Peak, I wouldn't wanna go to such a dangerous place like that. It's probably a good thing you turned down the offer."

Maiya looked at Ichirou angrily and said, "Will you please stop being such a pessimist?! Naegi's life would've changed for the better if you hadn't killed the mood for him to accept!"

"I'm just being honest." Ichirou defended.

"Yeah, and you're also a jerk," said Maiya.

Makoto just sighed as he listened to two of his friends bicker with each other, and he knew that his life would have been different if he had accepted the offer, but he also knew that his friends were right. No matter what happened, he would have been happy and content with his life as long as he was with his friends and family.

However, Makoto wasn't going to let this slide, and he still needed to figure out the mysterious killer of Class 78, so he took out his laptop and looked back at the documents Kyouko sent him via email, determined to find out the truth.

As he looked at the documents, his friends continued to argue with one another.

"And I'm telling you, Kurata, as I said before to STOP discouraging people for at least a few moments, especially when something extremely good happened for our friend Naegi! He just got accepted to one of the greatest schools in Japan and you dissuaded him from getting a big opportunity like you did with others!" Maiya argued, "And those bad rumors are just bad rumors made up by other people who used to attend Hope's Peak!"

"And I'm telling you, as I said before, I don't believe that those rumors are false!" Ichirou argued back, "And even if they are, there's always a chance that something bad might happen at that school, and it would've been a mistake for Naegi to accept the offer."

"Okay, now you're just being a hypocrite." Maiya accused, "You were the one who discouraged him from accepting the offer in the first place, and now you're saying that he made a mistake for turning it down."

"No, I'm saying he made the right choice in turning it down!" Ichirou argued, "Like I said last Saturday, for all we know, the rumors could be true, and Hope's Peak could be making stuff up just to cover up the whole thing about those terrible rumors! You know, to PROTECT their image and shit?!"

"Oh, yeah, because that's totally a thing." Maiya said sarcastically, "They're covering up the truth about those bad rumors by lying to the public, just so they can save their own skin."

"Yeah, because that's what big companies and big schools like Hope's Peak do!" said Ichirou, "They lie, cheat, steal, and they cover up their tracks. Like the ones you hear about on the news. That's how it goes, Suzumiya. They don't care about the little guy, they only care about themselves, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to save their asses."

"That is so not true!" Maiya argued, "Those companies and schools are not that selfish! How dare you accuse them of being selfish?!"

"Because it's the truth, and you know it!" said Ichirou, "Plus, big companies and big schools with lots of money in their hands, they can get away with anything, even murder!"

"So, you're saying that Hope's Peak Academy staff is involved in the deaths of those students from Class 78?" said Maiya, "That's ridiculous! They're not even close to the killer."

"They might as well be if they let the Main Course Student get away with everything!" said Ichirou, "Like that one rumor where a Reserve Course Student was killed off by a Main Course Student!"

This got Makoto's attention as he recalled Ichirou mentioning that rumor last week, before he asked, "Wait, Kurata, you mentioned that rumor last Saturday. What did you mean by that?"

Ichirou looked at him and explained, "Well, if you wanna know, there's a rumor going around that a Reserve Course Student from last year was killed off by a Main Course Student, but it was covered up by the school."

"Yeah, and that's total BS!" said Maiya, "That's not true at all. They would've found out who did it, and the police would have arrested them."

"Not unless they wanna ruined their image." said Ichirou before he continued, "Anyway, like I was saying, though I don't entirely know the details, that Reserve Course Student was female, and her death left the only parent that she had devastated, even questioning the school about it. But they refused to tell her only parent the truth, and that parent became so furious, they ended up getting the police involved and demanding justice, but the police didn't find anything, and the investigation was closed off. As for who the student is, I think she goes by the name-"

"Sato." Makoto said for him.

"Huh?" said Ichirou, "Uh, yeah, why?"

As Ichirou confirmed it, Makoto began thinking about it for a moment as he repeated, "Sato, huh? Sato...Sato...!" Then the realization hit Makoto as he said what Kyouko told him in her video message, "It's all about...Sato!" He looked at the email that contained everything as he said, "So that's what you meant, Kirigiri. She was the motive for the killer to kill off Class 78, all for revenge!"

"Huh?" both Maiya and Ichirou said confused.

"Big bro?" said Komaru.

Makoto opened up every file Kyouko left behind for him as he began explaining, "Last Saturday, I received an offer to go to Hope's Peak Academy, and I was gonna accept it. But when you told me you heard about the rumors and how bad it is, I declined. And when I told you guys, Kurata was the only one who discouraged me from going, while Suzumiya encouraged me to go."

"Yeah, I was." Maiya agreed, "So?"

"So, the thing is, when I was looking into it," Makoto went on, "A student from Hope's Peak emailed me this, and I saw an article about a Reserve Course Student going by the name of Sato. Apparently, she really was killed by a student from the Main Course."

"What?!" said Maiya, shocked, "Seriously?"

"Yeah." Makoto confirmed, "But that wasn't all, and neither was this. There was also a video message by Kyouko Kirigiri. A detective. She says she wants my help on the Class 78 murders, and the reason why she chose me is because of my luck."

"Lucky?" Maiya questioned, "Why lucky?"

"According to her, my talent is called the Ultimate Lucky Student, or the Super Highschool Level Good Luck," said Makoto, "That's supposed to be my talent, but I never knew it until I got that offer."

"Wait, wait, wait." said Ichirou, "Back up. First of all, are you sure this wasn't just some scam to lure you into a trap or something? I mean, the Class 78 murders and the rumors aren't a joke. They're real, and there's no doubt about it. Plus, the fact that a Reserve Course Student was killed off by one of the Main Course students is also a rumor, and I don't wanna have a classmate who has the same name as a girl who was killed by a student from the Main Course. And second of all, why would she want you to help her with the murders when the killer could come after you next?"

"The killer won't, because I never came to Hope's Peak Academy, thanks to your discouragement." said Makoto, "Anyway, the reason she wanted me to help is because she's trying to stop the killer, and she believes I'm the only one who can do it, since I have luck on my side."

"But how is that going to help you?" Maiya asked, "Luck isn't really a useful talent."

"I don't know, but I think I might know what Kirigiri meant when she told me 'It's all about Sato.'" said Makoto, "If what I think is right, then that means the killer is using her death to avenge her."

"Wait, what are you talking about?" said Ichirou.

Makoto then went over everything he knew so far and said, "Well, here's what I've gathered." He showed them the files of the would've-been students of Class 78 who have died: Junko Enoshima the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Fashionista, Mukuro Ikusaba the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Soldier, Yasuhiro Hagakure the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Clairvoyant, Byakuya Togami the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Affluent Progeny, Sakura Ogami the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Martial Artist, Kiyotaka Ishimaru the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Moral Compass, Hifumi Yamada the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Fanfic Creator, Chihiro Fujisaki the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Programmer, Leon Kuwata the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Baseball Star, Mondo Owada the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Biker Gang Leader, Toko Fukawa the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Literary Writing Prodigy, and finally, Kyouko Kirigiri the Ultimate/Super High School Level Detective.

Maiya, Ichirou, and Komaru read the files of Class 78 and how they died, Junko and Mukuro died in a limousine accident while at the same time, Yasuhiro was killed by being crushed by the same limousine, Byakuya died of caffeine poisoning, Sakura was suffering from breathing problems before being killed along with Kiyotaka and Hifumi by a steel beam from the crane controlled with the program by Chihiro before he died of a head injury, Leon died of food poisoning, Mondo died losing control of the bike and falling off a cliff, and Toko died from inflation of her body caused by something within her body, while Kyouko's remained blank.

"Kyouko sent me this before she died." said Makoto, "It seems the only motive that the killer has is revenge for what happened to Sato, who was killed by someone from Hope's Peak, and whoever the killer is, he's targeting all the students in Class 78, including her, and now that she's dead, he's likely planning on killing everyone who had something to do with her death."

"Wait, that doesn't make any sense." said Ichirou, "How did she die? And what does the killer have to do with her?"

"Honestly, even I don't know how she died." said Makoto, "But, the truth of how they really died...they all have one thing in common." Makoto showed them a microscopic image was what appears to be a small size robot that looks like an insect.

"What is that?" said Maiya, confused.

"That's...nanotechnology!" said Ichirou.

"Exactly." said Makoto, "Nanotechnology. Nanobots."

"Woah, really?!" said Maiya, "You can't be serious! You think that's the killer's using those to kill those students?!"

"If Kyouko's apparent death is anything to go by, then yeah." said Makoto, "According to her video message, the killer's using nanotech to enhance his strength and speed and use it to kill his targets. Which is how she died."

"But why go after the students of Class 78?" Komaru asked, "If whoever the killer is blamed Hope's Peak for what happened to Sato, shouldn't he go after the academy instead?"

"Normally, yes," said Makoto, "But this killer, I think, is targeting Class 78 for a reason, because they're supposed to be new students of Hope's Peak Academy, which is why Kirigiri sent me this email. It's because she wanted to stop the killer from killing off the remaining Class 78 students."

"I think I get it." said Maiya, "The reason the killer is targeting the students of Class 78..."

"...Is so that it could damage the reputation of the school," said Ichirou, "Which is why they're doing it."

"That's right," said Makoto, "And the reason Kirigiri wants my help is because she's hoping my luck will be useful for stopping the killer and solving the case." Makoto then opened three more files as he said while showing it to them, "And there's only three more left alive."

They looked at the pictures and read the profiles and the names of the last three remaining students, Celestia Ludenberg the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Gambler, Aoi Asahina the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Swimmer, and...

"Sayaka Maizono, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Idol." Maiya read.

"Wait, that's your favorite idol, right?" Ichirou questioned, "The one your little sister likes and watches?"

Komaru gasped in horror as she said, "Oh, no! If the killer is after her, then she's in danger! She could die, and so could the other two! We have to warn her! Big Bro, we have to warn Sayaka and the other girls!"

"Yeah." said Makoto as he closed the laptop, "I need to head out. You guys know where to find them, right?"

"W-Well, yeah." said Maiya, "I know where to find Asahina, Kurata knows where to find Celestia and Sayaka Maizono should be finished with her concert, but-"

"Then you guys find them!" said Makoto after he finished packing his laptop and stuff in his bag, "I need to head off!"

"Where are you going?" Ichirou asked.

"I need to check something!" said Makoto as he grabbed his school bag and headed to the door, "You guys warn the other two! Komaru, you go to that concert and warn Sayaka!"

"Ok, but where are you going?" Maiya asked as she watched Makoto get out of his house and get on his bicycle.

Makoto got on his bike and said, "To Hope's Peak Academy!"

He began pedaling as fast as he could as he headed toward the academy, and he needed to be quick. After all, Sayaka and the others were in danger, and he was the only one who could save them by reporting everything he knew to the school.

After pedaling for a while, Makoto was getting tired and exhausted, but he didn't care. He had to warn the school, no matter what.

Once he arrived at Hope's Peak Academy, Makoto got out of his bike as he carried his stuff with him and was greeted by Juzo who was guarding the gate and glaring at Makoto intimidatingly while towering over him with his size.

Makoto gulped before he greeted nervously, "Uh...hi. Are you, uh, guarding the school?"

"Yeah." said Juzo, continuing to glare down at Makoto, "And what do you want, brat?"

Makoto chuckled nervously for a moment before he took a deep breath and then said to him with a serious look, "Kyouko Kirigiri sent me. I need to see the headmaster, Jin Kirigiri. It's an emergency."

"Huh? said Juzo, raising an eyebrow, "Kirigiri? And she sent you?"

"Yes." said Makoto, "Please, it's important."

Meanwhile, Ichirou arrived at a place where he would likely find Celestia. He was well acquainted with the gambler as he owed her for getting him and his mother out of debt that his idiotic father got him and his family into, especially after his parents divorced. Once he arrived there, he knocked on the door before Celestia came out and greeted him.

"Ah, Ichirou," said Celestia, "What brings you here? Did you come to have tea with me? Or have you come to play a game?"

"I'm sorry, Celestia, but this isn't a good time for games," said Ichirou, "I came here to repay you for getting me and my mother out of debt, and now, it's my turn to repay the favor, by telling you something important."

"Oh? Is that so?" said Celestia, "Alright, then. What is it that you wish to tell me?"

Ichirou sighed and explained, "Some killer is after people who're going to be students of Hope's Peak as Class 78, and...I'm sorry, Celestia. But you're one of the targets."

"Hm, is that so?" said Celestia, "Well, you have my thanks for warning me, Ichirou. But you know, it would have been wise for you to leave out the fact that you knew that I was one of the targets. After all, that would put you in danger as well. Now, since you've repaid me, I think it's time for you to go, Ichirou."

"Yeah, I know." said Ichirou, "By the way, if the killer does come for you, don't die, alright?"

"Do not worry, Ichirou," said Celestia, smiling, "I don't intend to die, anyway."

"Are you sure you don't need me to stick close to you for protection?" Ichirou asked, "You know, I could help, and I wanna make sure I repaid you."

"I'll be perfectly fine," said Celestia, "I can take care of myself. Although, I do have to ask, how exactly does the killer intend on killing me with?"

"Nanotechnology." said Ichirou, "I heard there was a rumor about a Reserve Course Student being killed by one of the Main Course students, and I think the killer is using that as a motive."

"I see," said Celestia, "So, that's what the rumors are about. I'm surprised you would believe something as ridiculous as that, but, I suppose the rumors could have some merit."

"I don't believe them, Celestia, I'm just being cautious," said Ichirou, "Especially since my friend Naegi told me the whole truth, and now I know they're real. So, please, be careful."

"I will," said Celestia, "With that being said, Ichirou, you can go now, and consider your debt to me repaid."

"Thanks," said Ichirou, "See ya."

Ichirou then left, while Celestia closed the door and locked it before she returned to her tea, and said to herself, "Nanotechnology, huh? That's a new one."

Meanwhile, Maiya found the swimming pool gym where she would most likely find Aoi Asahina to practice swimming before she spotted her, about to eat her donut, and fearing that the nanobots are in there, Maiya hurried ran towards Aoi as she screamed, "NO, WAIT, STOP!"

"Huh?" Aoi stopped as she saw Maiya with a confused look, "Who're you?"

"DON'T EAT THAT!" Maiya quickly snatched the donut from Aoi and then threw it on the ground and began stomping on it, before the then went and grabbed the boxes of donuts, threw them all on the ground, and began repeatedly stomping on them until she was out of breath.

After Maiya was done, Aoi looked in bewilderment before she began crying comical tears as she wailed, "My donuts! No, my poor donuts! Why would you do such a terrible thing?! WHAAAAAHHH! My poor donuts! How could you do this?!"

"Ah, I-I'm sorry!" said Maiya, "I'm really sorry, but I had to! It's an emergency!"

"An emergency?" Aoi sniffled, wiping her tears, "What are you talking about?"

"Okay, long story short," said Maiya, "Someone's trying to kill the students of Hope's Peak Academy, and he's using nanotechnology to do it, so I had to get rid of your donuts because you're next. I'm really sorry."

"What?!" Aoi looked surprised, "W-Why would someone try and kill us?!"

"Because the killer's targeting the students who are going to be students of Hope's Peak as Class 78, and you're one of the only ones left alive." Maiya explained, "But, you're gonna be okay! My friends are looking out for the others, and I'm sure they're doing fine."

"R-Really?" said Aoi, "I'm...not gonna die?"

"No, not yet, at least," said Maiya, "But the point is, you need to get to stick with me to avoid getting killed. So, you're just gonna have to come with me and we'll keep looking out for the killer, alright?"

"Um, o-okay," said Aoi, "I'll come with you."

Meanwhile, Komaru, while it took a while, managed to get through security without being spotted and hurried her way to the break room where Sayaka Maizono and her idol group were taking a break from the concert, and once Komaru managed to get into the break room, she noticed the five girls drinking coffee and water and she called out to Sayaka, "HEY, SAYAKA MAIZONO!"

The other four girls screamed as Sayaka looked at her and said, "Um, hi? Who are you? And why and how did you come here?"

"Uh...hi, Maizono!" said Komaru nervously before introducing herself, "Uh...first of all, I'm Komaru Naegi, and I'm a HUGE fan! I love your music and dancing, and I watch your shows all the time! And...and I really, REALLY, want an autograph! Can you give me an autograph, please?"

"Uh, sure, I guess," said Sayaka, "Just let me finish my coffee and water, and I'll give you an autograph."

"Thank you!" said Komaru, "Oh, and, uh, another thing. There's a serial killer who's after the people who're gonna be students of Hope's Peak, Class 78!"

"Huh?" said Sayaka, confused as she was unaware of such news due to her busy schedule, "A serial killer? Really?"

"Y-Yeah, really!" said Komaru, "You're gonna be one of the students, right? So, anyway, the killing has already happened to your would've-been classmates! And you're NEXT!"

"Huh? Wait, what? Seriously?!" Sayaka questioned, shocked.

"YES!" said Komaru, "There's this rumor about a Reserve Course Student who died because a student from the Main Course killed her, and now, the killer's using the rumors and Sato's death as a motive to target everyone who was supposed to be a student of Class 78, including you! So, please, you need to come with me!"

"Hey!" a security guard shouted, "Stop! You can't be in here!"

"Oh, no," Komaru said nervously, "I-I gotta go, now! Just trust me and come with me and my friends, Maizono, or you'll end up like your classmates!" She quickly ran off as the guards tried to chase after her.

"W-Wait, hold on, I'm coming with you!" Sayaka said, running off to catch up with her, leaving her idol group confused about what just happened.

Sayaka ran back and told her friends, "Sorry, girls! But something's come up, tell the manager I left, so, uh, bye!"

She hurried off to catch up with Komaru as her idol group stood there, puzzled by what just happened.

Back with Makoto, he was still talking with Juzo who was hesitant to let him through, "Look, I don't have time for this. I really need to see the headmaster and it's an emergency!"

"Alright, look, kid." Juzo said, "It's getting late, and I have work to do. If you don't get lost, then I'll-"

"Hey, Juzo," Chisa called as she approached the gate, "What's going on? I'm trying to teach my class right now!"

"Listen, I can prove to you why the killer is after Class 78!" said Makoto, "It's Sato! It's all about Sato!"

Hearing this caught Chisa's attention as she recognizes the name of a friend of one of her students before she approached Makoto and asked, "Wait, did you say Sato?"

"Yeah." Makoto nodded, "It's her, and she's the motive for the killer, which is why he's targeting the would've-been Class 78."

"What? Seriously?" Chisa was shocked, "How did you know that?"

"I don't have time to explain." said Makoto, "But I need to tell the headmaster!"

Chisa looked at Juzo with a serious expression and nodded to him, and Juzo nodded back to her before he opened the gate for Makoto and allowed him inside.

"Thanks." said Makoto as he began running off.

"Hey, kid!" Chisa called to him, "Come on, I'll take you to the headmaster!"

Chisa led him to the academy and to the office of Jin Kirigiri, and when they arrived, Chisa knocked on the door, and when Jin opened it, she said, "Mr. Kirigiri, I have someone who wants to see you."

"What is it, Yukizome?" Jin questioned before he noticed Makoto Naegi and asked, "Wait, aren't you-?"

"It's an emergency." said Makoto, "Please, Mr. Kirigiri, it's about the killer. I know why he's targeting the students of Class 78!"

Hearing this alarmed Jin before he told Chisa, "Thank you, Yukizome. I'll handle it from here. You may return to your class."

"Yes, sir." Chisa nodded as she left, while Makoto went inside the headmaster's office with Jin following him.

"So, you know why the killer is targeting the students of Class 78." Jin stated, "Then I think you should start by telling me how you know that."

"Well, here's the thing." Makoto began explaining.

Later that night, Makoto arrived at the graveyard and stopped at a gravestone that belonged to the Reserve Course Student, Sato. He got out of his bike and knelt in front of the grave with a saddened expression.

"I'm sorry, Sato," Makoto apologized, "I wish I could've known you, but I was afraid of going to Hope's Peak Academy because of the bad rumors. But I know what the killer's motive was, and it's all about you. I'm gonna find the killer and stop him."

Then he heard footsteps as Makoto turned around to face a man wearing a suit of metal armor made out of nanotechnology and Makoto said to him, "Hello, sir. You must be Sato's father. You're the killer who's been after Class 78 for revenge on Hope's Peak."

The man in the armor who is Sato's father scoffed bitterly and said under his helmet, "The BALLS Hope's Peak has to send a student here! And have them stand OVER her grave!"

"I'm sorry, sir," said Makoto, "I really am, and I can understand what you're going through, but if you're after the people of Class 78, then you're wrong."

"I'M WRONG?!" Sato's father repeated, angrily, "How could you say that?! You know, what the hell do you even know, brat? You have NO idea what it's like! To have the only family you have left in your life, and then have her taken away by the bastards of this academy! She died because Hope's Peak killed her!" The helmet was removed as nanobots to reveal his face as he said, "She died because of THEM!"

"They didn't kill her." said Makoto, "You're wrong. Your daughter was killed by a student of Hope's Peak, but not without reason! And besides, she was just a student when she died."

"Just a student!" said Sato's father, offended, before he yelled, "SHE WAS MY DAUGHTER! My little girl! She wanted to be a part of Hope's Peak Academy, and they exploited that, and put her on reserve!"

"You think she was on reserve because she was exploited?" Makoto questioned.

"Don't play dumbass with me, brat!" Sato's father shouted, "Hope's Peak filled all of you Main Course Students' heads with nonsense about having talent means you're all better than everyone else, better than the Reserve Course kids who have NO talent, in bettering and perfecting the world with your so-called gifts! They just left out to you how they'd make most talented kids like you leave normal and nontalented people to die, the same way they left my daughter to die, by having you kids doing Hope's Peak's dirty work!"

"And what, that gave you the right to murder them?!" Makoto shouted back, "Byakuya Togami?! Sakura Ogami?! Kiyotaka Ishimaru?!Hifumi Yamada?! Chihiro Fujisaki?! Leon Kuwata?! Mondo Owada?!Toko Fukawa?! Kyouko Kirigiri?! All of them were innocent, and you murdered them! And why would you blame the Main Course Students?! I've never been to Hope's Peak before, and I'm a student myself!"

"Because all of you kids are a part of Hope's Peak and its future!" Sato's father said, "Hope's Peak took EVERYTHING from me! So, I took away from them!"

Flashback:

Byakuya Togami drank his coffee, unaware that the nanobot, controlled by Sato's father, entered his body through his mouth, and then he died in front of his servants and Kyouko and Jin.

"I wanted Hope's Peak to suffer."

Sakura Ogami finished drinking her energy drink before she felt pain in her chest as the nanobots began ripping her lungs on the inside, causing her to cough out and breathe erratically for air.

"To hurt."

Chihiro Fujisaki watches over the program-controlled crane holding magnetically onto the steel beams, unaware that the nanobot pushed the enter button, causing the program to disconnect from the crane and release the steel beams, falling onto Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Hifumi Yamada, and Sakura Ogami who tried to save them, was killed when the beam hit her on the back.

"To witness everything they ever worked for."

Chihiro cried in the containment cell, unaware that a nanobot entered his ear and attacked his brain, causing his eyes to widen in pain before his eyes rolled to his back as he died, while the nanobot escaped by breaking the back of his head.

Leon Kuwata eats his burger, unaware that a nanobot was in it, and entered his mouth, and went down his throat before it went to the spinal cord in his neck, choking him until he coughed and died.

"Build for."

Mondo Owada drives on his motorcycle, unaware that a nanobot was on the front wheel of the tire, and popped it and broke the bike's tire, causing Mondo to lose control of his bike and drove off the cliff.

"Fought for."

Toko Fuwaka was shot by a bullet in the shoulder, which turned out to be a nanobot as it entered her body, and Toko, as Genocide Jack, felt an unbearable amount of pain as the nanobot inflated her body and caused her to explode.

"Hope for."

Kyouko Kirigiri readied herself to fight as Sato's father confront her with his nanotech suit of armor and attacked her.

"All the work Hope's Peak had made...to die."

Then Kyouko began gasping for air as Sato's father choke her with his enhanced nanotech glove before snapping her neck hard, killing her as he dropped her to the ground.

Flashback End:

"Okay, what about Yasuhiro Hagakure the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Clairvoyant?!" Makoto asked.

"What?! That seaweed-headed buffoon?!" Sato's father laughed, "That idiot wasn't even a threat to me, to begin with! If anything, I just killed that fool out of pure dumb luck!"

"Then what about Junko Enoshima or Mukuro Ikusaba?!" Makoto asked, "The Fashionista and Soldier respectively?!"

"What, Bimbo Slut and Soldier Girl?!" said Sato's father, "They would've recruited those two bitches in a heartbeat! Sold them so uh...oh, I don't know, malarkey about having talent means that they're better than everyone else! That's what they do, that's what Hope's Peak always does! To have talented students create a 'perfect' world to their image, or their vision, or whatever, while they let normal and nontalented people die and rot in the gutter!"

"So, that's it?!" Makoto shouted, "You murdered Junko and Mukuro because you could?! And what, you're gonna keep killing students just to make Hope's Peak pay?! You're wrong! You're just a murderer! You can't do that! That's no way to honor your daughter's memory!"

"No." Sato's father shouted, "You're wrong, brat. What I'm doing IS a way to honor her memory. My daughter Sato would've wanted this. Hope's Peak killed her, and now I'm going to kill every single one of them! Besides, their deaths were a favor, and Hope's Peak's death...will be a triumph! And I'll finish it, starting with the last people of students of Class 78! I'll make Hope's Peak pay for killing my daughter, and when I do, her memory will never die!"

"I won't let you." said Makoto, determined, "You're gonna have to go through me if you want to get to Asahina, Celestia, and Maizono."

"Ha!" Sato's father laughed as his nanobots formed his helmet, "I don't know who you think you are, brat, but trust me, I intend to!"

With that, Sato's father, with his full metal nanotech suit on, began charging at Makoto to deliver a punch, but Makoto managed to dodge and run away, but the armored murderer kept chasing him. Makoto ran as fast as he could, running around through the gravestones. He kept running away from the man with the nanotech suit, as Sato's father began following him, chasing him, and trying to kill him.

Makoto ran as fast as he could and he quickly turned around and faced him, as suddenly, a bright light shined from behind him, blinding Sato's father as the light shined brilliantly, and when the light died out, suddenly Makoto charged up at Sato's father and began giving him punches and kicks, surprising Sato's father as for some reason, for someone as scrawny as him, Makoto was delivering strong blows that could rival the strength of the Super High School Level Martial Artist.

Sato's father fell back and landed on the ground, but he recovered and stood up, and charged at Makoto, who was standing near the edge of a cliff, and Makoto managed to avoid Sato's father's attack before Makoto threw a rock at him, but Sato's father grabbed the rock and crushed it into pieces.

Makoto jumped over him and landed on the ground, leaving Sato's father confused.

"What the...?" said Sato's father, "Huh. You're uh...pretty agile."

"You know, my little sister's a fan of Sayaka Maizono," said Makoto, "But honestly, you remind me of a fan who stalked her and ended up killing her idol group, old man."

Sato's father growled before he charged at Makoto to attack, only to suddenly be punched in the face by Makoto with just one powerful punch, knocking him back flying, and crashing into the wall of the cliff before falling to the nearby gravestone, causing the tombstone to break, and his helmet to temporarily come off, revealing his face.

"Wha...?" Sato's father, bewildered and shocked, "How did you-?!"

"Like I said, old man." Makoto smirked, "You remind me of that crazed fan of Sayaka Maizono who was so obsessed that he killed her idol group, and was planning to kill Sayaka and herself after he was done. And just like the guy, you're a delusional bastard who believes his own twisted ideals, and you're so convinced that the academy killed your daughter, that you didn't even bother to realize that it was her fault for going to Hope's Peak's secret program and dying because she had no talent whatsoever."

"Why you?!" Sato's father growled, "Hope's Peak...never cared about Sato!"

Makoto laughed and said, "Honestly, I don't really care that much about Hope's Peak or its secrets, and honestly, I'm not even a student, yet. But, what I am is the guy who's gonna stop you. You think you can get away with what you did, well, I'm the guy who's gonna put a stop to that."

"You arrogant brat!" Sato's father got up, his nanobots forming his helmet again, and charged at Makoto, throwing a punch at him, but Makoto managed to avoid the attack, and the murderer was getting annoyed as he threw more punches, and each one of them Makoto either avoided or blocked, and Makoto tripped Sato's father over, making fall to the ground.

Sato's father got up on his feet and formed blasters in his hand with nanotech as he searched around looking for Makoto as he shouted angrily, "WHERE ARE YOU, BRAT?! C'MON!"

"What's wrong?!" Makoto appeared in front of him with a laugh, "Aren't you supposed to be a killer?! Well, c'mon, then! Kill me!"

"ARGH!" Sato's father screamed in rage as he aimed his blasters at him and opened fire, only for Makoto to suddenly disappear and accidentally shot down the gravestone that belong to his daughter, and the grave was destroyed, shocking Sato's father.

Makoto reappeared on top of the destroyed gravestone and laughed, "Whoops, looks like you missed, old man."

"Sato...no...!" Sato's father muttered in horror before he growled angrily and opened fire at Makoto, who disappeared and then reappeared in another location.

"W-Wha...?" said Sato's father, confused, "H-How're you...?"

Makoto laughed mischievously and taunted, "What's the matter, old man? Aren't you gonna kill me?"

Sato's father yelled angrily as he began firing again and kept chasing Makoto, unaware that he wasn't attacking the real Makoto as he disappeared and then suddenly reappeared. Sato's father growled before dismissing his blasters as he ran to punch him, only for Makoto to disappear, and then reappear.

"Stop moving, you stupid brat!" Sato's father shouted as he threw punches and kicks, trying to hit him, and Makoto kept avoiding the attacks and taunting him, by disappearing and reappearing.

"W-What's happening?!" Sato's father shouted in confusion, "W-What's going on?!" He then gasped as more Makoto Naegis appeared as if..."It's like you're everywhere!"

"Heh, I'll bet it is." said one of the Makoto Naegis.

Sato's father couldn't understand what was happening as he attacked one Makoto to find the real one, only for one to disappear, and try to attack the one who hit him, only for him to disappear as well. Sato's father kept trying to hit all the Makoto Naegis to find the real Makoto Naegi, and as he did, he was completely oblivious that the real Makoto was just standing behind him and watching him.

"What the heck is going on here?!" Sato's father questioned as the nanobots that were in his helmet, were now slowly malfunctioning due to the repeated hits, so he took off his helmet as he growled, "Whatever you're planning, it's not gonna stop me, because my suit can't be weakened, even when you're fighting me! You're not even built to fight!"

"True!" said one of the Makoto Naegis, "But then again, I'm not really fighting you, and your not really fighting me!"

"Just illusions of me!" said the other Makoto Naegi, "You see, that light that blinded you earlier was the result of the animation effect that cause you to see things that aren't right."

"That's why you're not fighting me." said the third of the Makoto Naegis, "Just illusions of Makoto Naegi you think are fighting, when in fact, you're fighting someone else!"

"W-What?!" said Sato's father, shocked.

"And we just have to distract you long enough to weaken you!" said a fourth Makoto Naegi, "Keep you busy, while the real Makoto watches you fight him without you even knowing it, just so the real him can attack you and defeat you!"

"You see, it's like in a game, when the player gets attacked by enemies and keeps attacking, only to find out the enemy's an illusion, and the real one's already been defeated!"

"But the problem is, we're not the real Makoto, but then again, he's not the real Makoto, either!"

"And you'll never find him, and you'll never win."

Then, Sato's father began to growl before he readied his nanotech suit, only for it to suddenly, out of sudden terrible luck, his suit was beginning to malfunction, with the only thing functional is his rocket boots.

"W-What's happening?!" Sato's father cried, "This can't be possible! My suit, it's broken!"

"Hey, you!" said one of the Makoto Naegis, "Looks like you've got bad luck! You may have been able to use the nanobots in your suit to attack and kill those people, but did you ever wonder what would happen if the suit were to break?! Especially if the suit broke from a punch?! The nanobots will start breaking, and your body will suffer the consequences!"

"The only reason your suit hasn't broken is that your suit was still functioning." another Makoto Naegi explained, "But, since it's no longer working, you won't be able to use it."

"So, it's game over for you!" said a third Makoto Naegi.

With no other choice, Sato's father used his rocket boots to try to fly and escape, to get away from this ridiculous nightmare, but then, he suddenly heard a loud voice, coming from above as he looked up to see a plane.

"Huh?!" said Sato's father in surprise, and he tried to fly away, only to suddenly be struck by something, causing him to be struck to the ground, and the nanobots of his suit began malfunctioning, and his body was beginning to suffer the effects.

"W-What's this?!" said Sato's father, panicking, "I-I can't control the suit anymore!"

Then, he fell to the ground, and the nanobot suit stops functioning as all the Makoto Naegis that were surrounding him began laughing at him. Sato's father looked around as all the Makoto Naegis surrounding him laughed at him before he noticed something strange and rubbed his eyes. And when it became clearer as the illusions were wearing off, the Makoto Naegis who were surrounding and laughing at him revealed themselves to be Class 77-B, most of who were laughing at him.

They were Akane Owari the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Gymnast, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Yakuza, Gundham Tanaka the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Animal Breeder, Hiyoko Saionji the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Traditional Dancer, Ibuki Mioda the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Musician, Kazuichi Soda the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Mechanic, Mahiru Koizumi the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Photographer, Mikan Tsumiki the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Nurse, Nekomaru Nidai the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Team Manager, Peko Pekoyama the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Swordswoman and Fuyuhiko's personal hitman and bodyguard, Sonia Nevermind the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Princess, Teruteru Hanamura the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Cook, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Imposter disguised as Ryota Mitarai the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Animator, Nagito Komaeda the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Lucky Student, and Chiaki Nanami the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Gamer.

After they stepped aside to reveal not only the real Makoto Naegi, but also Jin Kirigiri, Koichi Kizakura, Kyosuke Munakata, Juzo Sakakura, and Chisa Yukizome, with security personnel with them.

"Huh?!" said Sato's father in a mixture of shock, horror, and confusion, "W-What's going on?!" He looked at Class 77-B, "W-Who are they?!" Then at Nagito, "And...what's with the hobo kid?!"

"Hello~!" Hiyoko sang, "Misfit Class 77-B, hi~"

"We're the class who was supposed to be seniors of Class 78." Ibuki grinned, "So, hi!"

"Oh, and the hobo's name is Nagito Komaeda." Akane pointed out, "And he's a nutcase."

Nagito laughed and said, "Don't worry, it's all according to plan."

"W-What the heck is going on?!" Sato's father questioned, "W-What's all this about?! W-Why are you kids here?!"

"Well, long story short, Naegi here planned it all out." Kazuichi pointed out, "And let me tell ya, the dude's got some good luck."

"W-What?!" said Sato's father, shocked, "So then, the whole time I was fighting the brat's illusions, I was fighting all of you kids?!"

"Yup!" Sonia smiled, "And thanks to our talents, we were able to beat you!"

"And you never even knew!" Ibuki added, "It's like that one movie when the heroes were being hunted by villains and they had to hide using disguises!"

"I don't think there was such a movie." Mahiru sweatdropped.

Sato's father growled before the adults approached him as Chisa said, "And you're wrong about one thing: Hope's Peak is more than just talent, it's people! We may be proud of our talented students, but they're just like everyone else: they have their flaws, their quirks, their problems, their troubles, and their hopes, dreams, and goals! But it's the people in this academy who make Hope's Peak, and that's what makes it so special!"

"But you, you think you can get away with murdering people just for your sick twisted revenge?! Kyosuke glared, "You're wrong! You murdered innocent students and people, and we're gonna take you down for that before we bring you in!"

"Damn right!" Juzo said, cracking his knuckles.

Sato's father growled and said, "This would never have happened, if your damn students didn't murder my own child, and your damn school didn't cover it all up with lies! You NEVER should've murdered my only family!"

Fuyuhiko chuckled and said, "Well, to be fair, yours did first with mine."

"Huh?" said Sato's father, confused, before the security personnel grabbed him as Kazuichi took what looks to be a remote control that controls the nanobots, as Chisa approached Sato's father and said, "We'll explain what Kuzuryu meant later, but just know that your daughter, Sato, was a very good student and a very good friend to one of my students, and she'll be forgotten: not by Hope's Peak and not by those who once knew her."

Sato's father sighed in defeat before he said, "Then you...honor my child."

As the security personnel took him away, Sato's father shouted one last time to them, "Then honor her!"

Mahiru looked at Sato's father walking away with a sad look as she muttered quietly, "I will."

Then, everyone looked at Makoto as Hiyoko said, "Well, good job, loser! You've got lucky, or whatever!"

"Indeed." Peko nodded, "But then again, I believe in destiny, so maybe you were fated for this."

"Yes, it's been an absolute pleasure working with you, Mr. Naegi." Sonia smiled, "Thank you for your assistance."

"I think we all can agree that this was an unexpected victory." the Ultimate Imposter said.

"But we can't forget the reason why." Chiaki smiled at Makoto.

Makoto laughed and said, "I'm just glad that nobody else has to die from murder again." said Makoto before he remembered, "Oh, speaking of which..." He brought his phone and called Komaru and his two classmates and friends and asked, "Hey guys. How're things on your end? Are the remaining students of Class 78 okay?"

"Yeah," said Ichirou, "Everything's fine. Celestia Lundenberg is safe on my end, Sayaka Maizono's also with Komaru, and Maiya is watching over Aoi Asahina."

"Hey, guys." said Maiya, "Do you...uh...by any chance know a donut shop near where you are?"

"No, not really." Makoto replied, "Sorry."

"Awww, dangit!" Maiya cried, "And here I thought I could buy some for Aoi to make up for the donuts I destroyed earlier. I owe her an apology and everything."

"Well, if it helps, I'll let you know when we find a donut shop near us." said Ichirou, "Though, you're gonna have to pay for it yourself."

"Ugh, fine." Maiya groaned.

"And Komaru?" Makoto asked.

"Uh, yeah, Maizono's fine!" said Komaru while panting as if she were running, "But I'm being chased by security because I broke in!"

"Komaru, how many times do I have to tell you, don't break the law?" Makoto asked.

"Sorry, bro." Komaru replied, "I had to make sure Maizono was safe. Anyway, I gotta go! They're onto me, so, uh, gotta go! Talk to you later!"

"Wait, Komaru!" said Makoto, "Don't run, that'll get you into even more trouble! Komaru!"

Komaru disconnected the call, leaving a bewildered Makoto as Chiaki sweatdropped and said, "Your sister, huh?"

"Yeah." Makoto chuckled, "Anyway, the others are fine. Celestia, Maizono, and Asahina are okay. At least nobody else has to die because of the murderer's revenge."

Everyone sighed in relief at that.

"Good." said Juzo, "Now take your shit and get out of our school grounds, Naegi! I'll see you again when you really enroll in the main campus. Until then, get lost."

"Yes, sir." Makoto nodded as he walked out with Class 77-B escorting him.

Jin sighed as Koichi placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "Still thinking about your deceased daughter?"

"Yeah." Jin nodded, "She's gone, and it's my fault for what happened to her."

"I know how you feel." Koichi replied, "But remember, she's in a better place, now."

Then, they heard clapping as the Japanese Government Executive, Shoji Suzuhara appeared as he said with a smirk, "Well, well, well. Looks like you all did a good job finding the culprit of these murders."

Jin groaned and said, "What're you doing here, Suzuhara?"

"You don't like me, and that's understandable." Suzuhara smiled, "But, I'm not here to bother you, Headmaster Kirigiri, I'm just here to give my condolences for the death of your daughter, and to congratulate you on a successful capture."

"Thank you." said Jin, "But I didn't do it alone. Anyway, that means you'll leave us alone and let us run Hope's Peak like normal, right?"

"Aha, about that," Shoji chuckled, "Not quite. You see, the fact that your students have been murdering each other is unacceptable, and the fact that there's a serial killer who has been after your students is another unacceptable risk that needs to be rectified, so you're going to have to make some changes. Speaking of change, I just had an idea. I was thinking of maybe sticking around and making the changes myself, just to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again."

"You wanna stick around and make changes yourself?" Juzo questioned.

"Why not?" said Shoji, "I mean, it's only fitting, right?"

The headmaster and teachers looked at each other with concerned looks before they turned to Shoji and asked, "For how long?"

Friday:

Shoji Suzuhara, the Japanese Government Executive, was making a speech for not only Hope's Peak but for the whole of Japan to hear as everyone on the news began watching.

"Good day, my fellow citizens of Japan," Shoji began, "It is with great pride that I stand before you today to announce that Hope's Peak Academy will now be under my command and under my watchful eyes, as it shall now be run by the government, and not just a school for gifted individuals, but a school for young talented individuals and normal people alike. In addition, this school will now no longer be called Hope's Peak, and instead, it will now be known as Shōgeki Gakuen, which is Japanese for Shock Academy, in reference to how the academy is now under the command of the Japanese Government."

"Oh, and don't think of trying to run off, or you'll have to answer the authorities. Also, as for the current students and staff of the academy, we'll be keeping a close eye on them and making sure that they have a bright future. If not, well, let's just say that we have ways of making them behave. It is unfortunate that we had to shut the Reserve Course, but it was for the safety of the rest of the student body and the world."

"We know that many people loved the Reserve Course and wanted them to be a part of the school, so we're working hard to re-open the Reserve Course to the public, and it'll be re-opening next year. We are currently planning a new building for the Reserve Course, and we plan to re-open it by next year. So, keep on the lookout, because we're looking for people who can afford the tuition, and when it's finished, we'll be opening it by the spring."

"So, without further ado, I give you: Shōgeki Gakuen: The Academy of Supernatural Talent and Hope. A new age, a new world, and a new era of Hope."

As the cameras continued flashing as he made the speech, Shoji grinned maliciously, showing his true color of greed and lust for the power of controlling what would be his.

He then continued the speech as he said, "No longer will it be called Hope's Peak Academy as it is now under the control of the government, and not only that but this academy, now called Shōgeki Gakuen, will begin accepting talented children, but also non-talented children as well. In addition, the staff, teachers, and even the students themselves will have to do whatever it takes to obey the government, and do as they're told, or they will be punished. It is time...for them to obey me...for that is...their destiny. And the future is ours."

Shoji finished his speech with a smile as everyone began clapping.

Meanwhile, at the old school building, everyone was having a memorial service for the students who would've been Class 78, but instead have died: Junko Enoshima the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Fashionista, Mukuro Ikusaba the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Soldier, Yasuhiro Hagakure the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Clairvoyant, Byakuya Togami the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Affluent Progeny, Sakura Ogami the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Martial Artist, Kiyotaka Ishimaru the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Moral Compass, Hifumi Yamada the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Fanfic Creator, Chihiro Fujisaki the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Programmer, Leon Kuwata the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Baseball Star, Mondo Owada the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Biker Gang Leader, Toko Fukawa the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Literary Writing Prodigy, and finally, Kyouko Kirigiri the Ultimate/Super High School Level Detective.

Everyone was present at the memorial service. including Class 77-B, Makoto Naegi, his sister Komaru, his two friends Maiya Suzumiya and Ichirou Kurata, and the remaining students of Class 78 who managed to survive the murders and were still alive: Celestia Lundenberg the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Gambler, Sayaka Maizono the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Idol, and Aoi Asahina the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Swimming Pro.

Koichi sighed and said, "Class 78 fell before they even had a chance to rise. What a shame. May they rest in peace."

"I never would've thought that this would happen." said Chisa, "I'm sorry for your loss, Jin."

"It's alright." Jin replied, "At least the killer is in jail for murder. Besides, the Reserve Course is closing for the time being until it's fully restored. Though the government taking control of the school isn't going to make things easier, that's for sure."

As the adults talked, Makoto felt a tap on his shoulder as he turned around to face his friends as they had him face the remaining Class 78.

"I think it'd be best to introduce." said Ichirou, "Uh, Naegi, meet Celestia Ludenberg, Sayaka Maizono, and Aoi Asahina. You already know Asahina's talent, but Maizono's an Idol, and Ludenberg is a Gambler."

"And girls, this is our friend, Makoto Naegi!" Maiya smiled, "He's the one who helped us save you and get the murderer caught."

"Hello, there." Makoto smiled, "I'm glad to meet you all."

"To you, as well." Celestia greeted, "Though, I'd wish it would've been under better circumstances. Regardless, it is a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Naegi. I thank you for your assistance. As do we all."

"It's nice to meet you." Aoi smiled, "I'm really glad you helped us."

"I know who you are." said Sayaka, "We went to the same middle school, though we never interacted due to our status, did we?"

"Huh?" said Makoto in surprise, "Uh...yeah. We did. Sayaka Maizono, right? We went to the same middle school. Yeah, I remember you. It's uh, nice to see you again. But I'm glad to see you're okay."

"Yeah." said Sayaka, "Though it would've been nice if our meeting in high school was different."

"I understand." Makoto replied.

"Anyway, it's good to meet you." Sayaka smiled, "I'm really glad to have met you. Thanks for helping us."

"It's no problem." said Makoto, "I'm just glad that the whole murder is over. Although, now we have a new problem."

"Yes, the government taking over." Celestia nodded, "I've had bad experiences with authority figures before, so I'm not sure how this'll play out."

"Same here." Aoi replied.

"Yeah." Sayaka agreed, "But regardless, it's good to have met you. I hope we'll be seeing you in school when we return."

"Yeah, me too." said Makoto, before he turned to Jin and asked, "Uh, by the way, Headmaster Kirigiri, I know this isn't the best time, but...does the offer of me being part of Hope's Peak still stand."

Jin smiled and said, "Of course, Mr. Naegi. But, the thing is, the government might be monitoring us, now. So, I'm afraid you can't attend the main campus. And you can't even take the entrance exam to see if you qualify."

"I-It's fine." said Makoto, "A-At least I can be this year's Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Luckster."

"I suppose." Jin nodded, "However, if you wish, you and the rest of your class will be transferred into our old building and be a part of the Main Course, starting Monday. You'll start a day late, since the academy is closed tomorrow, but other than that, you'll have everything you need."

"Really?" Makoto replied.

"Absolutely." Jin nodded, "Also, if your friends would like, they can also attend."

"Woohoo!" Maiya cheered, "Score! That means I'll get to have a talent and stuff! And Kurata can finally become the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Author that he wants!"

"I never said I wanted to be an author, where the hell did you get that idea from?" said Ichirou with a deadpanned expression, "Also, you don't even have a talent."

"Oh, please." Maiya rolled her eyes, "It's not like I'm gonna be a delinquent or anything. I mean, the worst thing I did was steal someone's lunch money, and that was because they insulted me for wearing my hair down."

"And ruining someone's donuts." Ichirou shot back with a smirk.

"S-Shut up!" Maiya blushed in embarrassment.

Everyone laughed at that before Kyosuke returned with an angry look.

"Kyosuke," said Jin, "Did you find the Steering Committee? Where are they?"

"Ran and gone!" said Kyosuke, "Like a bunch of cowards. They're gone, and they took all the files they could."

"Dangit." said Juzo, "Well, at least it's better than them getting captured."

"So, that means Hope's Peak Academy will now be called Shōgeki Gakuen." said Makoto, "So, what do we do now."

Everyone remained silent before Kyosuke announced, "I'd say we that the fight to Shoji Suzuhara ourselves!"

This shocked everyone as Kyosuke continued, "I don't care who Shoji is, he doesn't deserve control, nor does he get to decide what Hope's Peak should be! We'll take him and the government down, and then, the real Hope's Peak Academy will return, and it will be free, and it will be a safe place for talented children, and non-talented children, and everyone who attends, will have the hopes and dreams of the whole world!"

Everyone looked at each other as they thought about it.

"And besides," said Kyosuke, "We can't hide or be controlled by someone forever and someone must make a stand, so why not us?"

The others agreed as Chisa said, "Alright, then, if you guys are in, I'm in."

"Yeah." Jin nodded, "I agree. I'm not going to let the government have its way, especially Shoji. We're gonna stop him and whoever supports him."

"B-But how're we going to do that?" Mikan asked in a stammer, "W-We don't have anything to fight back w-with."

"You dolt!" Hiyoko yelled, smacking her butt, "We have talent, you stupid pig! We can just use our talents against the government and stop them!"

"O-Owwie!" Mikan cried as she rubbed her bottom.

"Well, then," said Nagito, "I think that settles it, right, everybody? I think we should do this, for the sake of hope. The greater the hope, the greater the despair. And with the government, we can have both. It's only fair, right?"

Everyone else looked at each other as they began to ponder what they should do next.

Uh...actually," said Makoto, "There...is one thing we can use. Or rather, someone we can use." He then took out a folder of the Kamakura Project and handed it to the adults for them to read as he said, "This is the last thing Kyouko Kirigiri left behind that she found, in case something like this might happen. I thought maybe it'll give us an extra edge."

Jin, Kyosuke, Juzo, and Chisa read the file of the Kamakura Project and their eyes widened in shock. In the file they were reading, they used a male student by the name of Hinata Hajime to become Izuru Kamakura, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Hope, a student with every single talent, and a student who is basically the exact opposite of Nagito Komaeda, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Lucky Student.

Curious, Class 77-B joined in to read it, and Chaki gasped as she recognizes the picture of a boy.

"No." she muttered, "It can't be. It's him. Hinata-kun, it's him! This is the guy I've been looking for!"

"Yeah!" said Mahiru, "I think I've seen him before!"

"You guys know him?" Makoto asked.

"Well, some of us do, though only Chiaki interacted with him the most." said Mahiru, "We thought he was expelled."

"He was a Reserve Course Student, right?" said Ibuki, "And we heard that the Steering Committee had him removed from the academy."

"But why?" said Nekomaru, "He seemed like a normal, nice kid."

"Looks like according to the files, the Steering Committee took him and turned him into a test subject for the Kamakura Project." said Peko, "And covered it up by saying he was expelled."

"So, they were lying, then." said Fuyuhiko, "Figures. Well, at least we know what happened to the guy. And the Steering Committee to get away from the government, they must've left him behind, too."

"Well, in any case," said Makoto, "I think we can use him to help fight against Shoji Suzuhara. What do you all think?"

Everyone looked at each other and thought for a moment before they agreed.

"Excellent." Nagito smirked, "This is truly a good turn of events, indeed. With the power of hope, and with the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Hope on our side, there is nothing we can't accomplish."

"You know, for once, Komaeda, you're words of speech about your obsession with hope are actually inspiring." said Kazuichi with a grin.

"Thank you." Nagito smiled, "I try my best."

"So, where is the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Hope now, anyway?" Kyosuke asked.

"The file should tell us where." said Makoto, "So, let's find him."

As Makoto discusses with Class 77-B and the adults, Sayaka looks at Makoto with a smile and a blush on her face.

Celestia noticed this and giggled, "Oh, my. Attracted?"

"Maybe." Sayaka admitted, "But for now, let's find the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Hope, first."

"Yes." Celestia agreed, "And who knows, perhaps the three of us can discuss how attracted we are to Makoto Naegi."

Aoi blushed at that and said, "You mean you're attracted to him, too?"

"Indeed." said Celestia, "I'm not one for love and affection, but I'm not blind, either."

"So, are you going to make a move?" Sayaka asked.

"Not yet." said Celestia, "We must deal with the government first, then we can talk about our attracted love for him."

"B-But we just met him!" Aoi blushed deeply.

"Yes, but he seems like a nice man, so I'll keep an eye on him." said Celestia, "Besides, there is such a thing as 'love at first sight,' isn't there?"

"Y-Yeah." Aoi agreed, still blushing, "I-I think there is."

"And besides, who wouldn't find Makoto cute?" Sayaka blushed, "He's so sweet and nice."

Celestia and Aoi nodded in agreement as they watched Makoto discuss their next plan of action.

I believe that in this universe as in every other, hope never dies. As long as someone holds on to that hope while keeping a good eye...on the bigger picture.

Makoto, Chiaki, Kyosuke, Juzo, Jin, and Chisa found the basement where Izuru Kamakura was likely held before they got through, or rather smash through in Juzo's case, the security and opened up the door, and there, they found Izuru Kamakura sitting on the bed before he looked at the people looking for him.

Izuru remained silent as he gave out a blank yet bored expression before he said, "So, you all found me. And here I thought the Steering Committee would keep this facility secret."

"Yeah, well, they ain't gonna be secret no more." said Juzo.

"Anyway," said Kyosuke, "We're taking you with us. We need your help."

Izuru, using his analytic skills, got the picture of why they were looking for him and seeing that they needed him to fight against Shoji Suzuhara who took control of Hope's Peak Academy with his position as a Japanese Government Executive, before he got up from the bed and said, "So, where's the fight?"

"In the main school building." said Chiaki, "That's where we were before Shōgeki Gakuen came. So, the battle will take place there. But before that, let me introduce myself."

She bowed and said, "I'm Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate/Super Highschool Level Gamer."

"I know." said Izuru, "And I assume that you want me to help fight the government who's taken control of Hope's Peak Academy. And also, since you found this place, then you must've seen my past. You must've known about the Kamakura Project and how I was a student of Hope's Peak Academy before I was kidnapped and brainwashed by the Steering Committee."

"That's...basically it." said Chiaki.

"So, what do you say?" Makoto asked, "Are you willing to help us fight against the government and restore Hope's Peak Academy?"

"You can just call me Izuru Kamakura." said Izuru, "But yes, I am willing to help."

"Excellent." Jin grinned, "Now, come with us, and let's fight together, to restore the school to its former glory."

"Alright." said Izuru as he walked towards the group and followed them out.

"And hey, maybe you'll even find a friend or two!" Jin joked.

"That's doubtful." Izuru replied.

And thus, a new alliance has been formed: a new alliance between Hope and Despair. And with their new ally, they'll fight the government, and save the school, and restore Hope's Peak Academy back to normal.
