I wasn't planning on rewriting my first fanfic until its 10th anniversary on December 21st 2025. But since I figure the years it'll probably take to finish will surpass 2025, might as well start now.

Resolute, Bith system:

A hologram of Jedi Master Plo Koon and a clone navigation officer appeared before Anakin, Ahsoka and Revan. Obi-Wan Kenobi's new apprentice the Jedi Knight and Padawan had found on Korriban only a week ago.

The teen focused his purple eyes on the hologram as the Togruta addressed the Jedi Master. "Koh-to-ya, Master Plo." she greeted with a smile.

"Koh-to-ya, little 'Soka." he replied. "How's the hunt for the mystery weapon going?" the older human asked him. "We've tracked it to the Abregado system. We need reinforcements." he informed as Anakin folded his arms.

"I'll have to ask the Council, Master Plo. I was given strict orders to protect our staging area." he replied before the hologram started flickering.

"Master Plo, what's happening?" Ahsoka asked in concern before the transmission abruptly ended.

"You heard Master Plo. He needs our support. We have to go help him." Ahsoka stated urgently as she and Revan followed Anakin to the comm room.

"We have to see what the Council decides first. This is an important meeting, Ahsoka. Remember, be mindful, and speak only when spoken to." the Knight reminded firmly as they stopped a few feet away from the doors.

"Don't I always?" she replied, a sliver of annoyance in her tone. "Same goes for you, Revan." he told the other Padawan before receiving a nod.

The three then entered the room just as holograms of Grand Master Yoda, Jedi Master Mace Windu, Obi-Wan and Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine were currently having a conversation.

'That old guy still creeps me out.' the male teen thought with a small shudder.

"This mystery weapon has struck in a dozen systems, and disappeared without a trace." Windu said as the Knight and Padawans stopped in front of them.

"We cannot afford to lose any more ships, my friends." Palpatine warned before noticing the three.

"Ah, Master Skywalker, have you had any success in finding General Grievous' secret weapon?" he asked the younger human before said man pressed a button on the holotable and brought up a hologram of three Star Destroyers and a red star.

"Master Plo was here in the Abregado system when we lost contact." he replied.

"We've had no further contact with General Plo Koon. The absence of distress beacons indicates that his fleet was..." Anakin explained before trailing off when Ahsoka gave him a worried look.

"That his fleet was destroyed, like the others. We are about to prepare a rescue mission." he finished as Revan placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

The Togruta turned her head to look at him before giving him a small appreciative smile. The Padawan returned the smile before he and Ahsoka returned their attention to the others as Palpatine spoke.

"Hasn't clone intelligence reported this weapon never leaves any survivors?" he questioned. "The Separatists are being unusually tidy. They don't want any witnesses." Obi-Wan stated.

"Tragic are these losses, but prevent more, we must." Master Yoda advised.

"All our battle groups will be reassigned to guard our supply convoys." Windu said before addressing Anakin. "Including yours, Skywalker. I'm afraid we can't risk any more ships with a rescue mission." he told the younger man.

"Wait!" Ahsoka suddenly protested, getting everyones attention before continuing. "Just because there haven't been any survivors before, doesn't mean there won't be any this time." she argued.

The dark-skinned Jedi and Grand Master shared a look before Palpatine spoke. "Boldly spoken for one so young." he commented, interlocking his fingers as she winced a bit.

"She is learning from Anakin." Obi-Wan added with a small grin. "Excuse my Padawan." the Knight apologized, giving her a scolding frown before looking at the hologram of Windu again as she lowered her head.

"We will deploy as you've instructed, Master." he said before the transmission ended.

Once the holograms disappeared, the Togruta turned around and started walking towards the door before stopping halfway when her master addressed her.

"Ahsoka!" he chastised with a scowl before she turned and mirrored it. "If anyone could survive, Master Plo could." she argued.

"I don't understand why-" she continued before he abruptly cut her off. "What you don't understand, is Jedi protocol, or your place, my young Padawan." he chastised while folding his arms.

"Perhaps you should take a page from Revan's book." he suggested, earning a raised brow from the teen. 'I don't think being selectively mute is something one would encourage.'

Before the female Padawan could retort, the door opened to reveal Admiral Yularen and an armored clone trooper.

"Admiral." Anakin greeted as the older man and clone walked up to him. "We'll split up our ships to maximize our defense area. I'll scout ahead for enemy activity." the Knight informed him.

"Isn't that risky, with the mystery weapon out there?" the older man asked. "It might be, but I know you won't argue my orders." he replied, giving his Padawan a look near the end of the sentence.

The teen frowned and looked at the ground for a moment before the Knight addressed her and Revan as he walked past her.

"Come on, you two." he said before they followed him back onto the bridge.

"Set those new coordinates, Artoo?" Anakin asked the R2 unit as he piloted his ship the Twilight, away from the Resolute.

The droid gave an affirmative beep and moved towards the droid port in the back of the cockpit just as Ahsoka spoke.

"Master, I should tell you why I spoke up before." she said. "You don't have to explain anything." he replied, unaware of the downcast expression she had from his reply.

Since he was sitting on the chair a few feet behind her, all Revan could do was give her a sympathetic look as the Knight activated the ship's hyperdrive.

Twilight, Abregado system:

A few minutes passed before the ship dropped out of hyperspace in the Abregado system. "Artoo, set up the scanner." Ahsoka told the droid after he moved over to her and console she was sitting at.

"Modulate for incoming... 'mystery weapons.'" she continued, turning her chair halfway in order to look at him and adding a small eye-roll at the 'mystery weapons' part.

Artoo beeped and started making his way to the droid port before stopping and turning his dome around to look at Anakin when he addressed the droid.

"No. Artoo, tune the scanners for life forms, highest sensitivity." he ordered before getting a beep in reply.

"Why would we scan for life forms to spot an enemy weapon probably just filled with, battle droids..." she asked, trailing off at the end and standing up when she noticed the red star.

"The Abregado system." she realized while walking over to the co-pilot chair Revan was currently sitting in and putting her right hand on the top of it.

The Knight gave her a smirk while she gave him an accusatory look. "So it's okay when you don't follow what the Council says!" she said, pointing at him while her tone matched her expression.

"Doing what the Jedi Council says, that's one thing, how we go about it, that's another. That's what I'm trying to teach you, my young Padawan." he explained.

"So you always meant to come out here for survivors?" she asked, a small smile on her face. "Lives are in danger, Ahsoka. We can't just turn our backs on them." he said, a serious frown on his face.

"That's what I said back in the briefing room!" she exclaimed, sounding exasperated and while sitting down in the chair when the male Padawan got off so she could do so.

"I know, but the way you said it was wrong." her master replied as she looked at the console with a downcast expression.

The expression was quickly replaced with a smile when Revan placed a comforting hand on her shoulder again. The Togruta gave him the smile before getting one in return.

"Hurry up, switch on the illuminator." the older human told her as the younger one sat back down at the console behind her.

"We haven't got much time before the fleet misses us." the older man added before she nodded and did as he told her.

Anakin piloted the ship towards the debris field as Ahsoka pressed a few buttons on the console. "The scanners are practically useless." she said before addressing Artoo.

"Got anything on the emergency channel, Artoo?" she asked while looking at him over her shoulder. The droid beeped before plugging into the droid port.

"Now, Ahsoka, we might find something you don't want to find." the Knight warned gently and while giving her a sympathetic look.

"I know, Master, but I have to believe." she said. "How do you know Master Plo anyway?" he asked. "He's one of my oldest friends." she replied, staring off a bit before looking at him.

"It was Master Plo who found me and brought me to the Temple where I belonged." she continued before staring off again.

"Now he's lost, so I thought I could find him." she added before Artoo beeped, getting both her and the humans attention before the console in front of her started beeping.

"Incoming transmission, Master." she informed him before looking at the console. "I think someone noticed we're gone." she added before a hologram of Obi-Wan appeared in the middle of both her and Anakin's consoles.

"Anakin, where are you?" the Jedi Master asked with a firm tone and crossed arms. 'Judging by his tone, I'd guess he already knows.' Revan thought while hoping he wouldn't get in trouble for accompanying the Knight.

"Oh! Hello, Master. Uh, we made a quick stop in the Abregado system." the younger man explained, trying to sound casual.

"For a rescue mission, I suppose." the Master said. "You have other orders." he reminded with a serious frown.

"It was my idea, Master Obi-Wan." the Togruta said, trying to take the blame. "Oh, I'm sure." he replied, tone making clear that he didn't believe her before returning his attention to his former Padawan.

"Well, have you found any survivors?" he asked. "No, you were right. The Separatists don't want any witnesses." Anakin replied.

"All the more reason for you to rejoin the defensive escorts. We need you, Anakin. You're going to miss the rendezvous with the fleet if you don't hurry." his former master informed.

"I know, Master. We're on our way." the Knight replied before the older Jedi ended the transmission. "I'm sorry, Ahsoka." he apologized softly as she looked at the console with a downcast expression.

As he piloted the ship further into the debris field, Artoo suddenly beeped. "What is it, Artoo." he asked as he and the Padawans turned their attention to the droid.

Artoo beeped again before Ahsoka looked at her console and spoke. "Artoo thinks he's got something on the emergency channel." she informed the other two while pressing a few buttons.

"Can he trace it?" her master asked with a small smile before the droid beeped again. "Let's get going." she urged, mirroring his smile.

The male Padawan smiled as well, glad that his friend was feeling better.

As Anakin flew the ship further into the debris field, Artoo turned his dome and projected an image of the star and debris field.

"Are we still picking up that signal?" he asked Ahsoka. "Yes, but why aren't we finding anybody." she replied, worry in her tone as she looked at him.

"I don't know, Ahsoka. I don't know..." he trailed off while continuing to pilot the ship through the debris field.

"Is there anyone out there?" Ahsoka asked over the comm, only to get silence in return.

"This is Ahsoka Tano. Can anyone hear me?" she asked again as Revan suddenly started looking around when he sensed another Force-sensitive nearby.

"Is anyone out there? Come in. This is Ahsoka Tano." the Togruta tried again before addressing Artoo. "Artoo, see if you can boost the reception." she said before getting a beep in reply.

As he did that, the young female let out a frustrated groan as she slumped against her seat. "Patience. We're trying to boost the power. Hang on." Anakin chided gently.

A few minutes passed before they suddenly received a call from Chancellor Palpatine. "Anakin, the Council is furious. Why have you left your post?" the hologram asked.

"I decided we couldn't just give up on Master Plo Koon." the Knight replied. "A noble gesture, Anakin." the older man commended.

"But the Council feels your daring may put others in danger." he added before continuing. "Please, listen to me, Anakin. Return at once." he implored.

"Yes, Excellency." the younger man acquiesced before the Chancellor ended the transmission. "Time to go, you two." he said to the Padawans before Ahsoka looked at him.

"We have to stay." she protested. "Ahsoka, I want to believe Master Plo is alive but-" he started to argue gently before she cut him off.

"I know he's alive! I can sense it!" she insisted while grabbing the co-pilot controls and making a hard right with the ship.

"Ahsoka!" Anakin exclaimed in surprise.

At the same time that happened, Artoo let out an alarmed beep and slid over towards the wall beside Revan who had just barely managed to put his hands on his own console in order to stop his face from colliding with it.

'That was too close.' he thought while quietly sighing in relief.

After a few seconds of Ahsoka piloting the ship, they soon reached an escape pod with Master Plo and a two clones on the outside of it.

'Why are they on the outside of the pod?' Revan thought with a brow raised in confusion.

"There they are!" she exclaimed, pointing at them before looking at Anakin. "Ready tow cable." he replied while flipping a switch on the control panel above him.

The younger human got up from his seat before walking over to a small control panel above the droid part with three buttons on it.

The Padawan then pressed the white button in order to load the cable before giving the togruta a smile and thumbs up.

"Cable loaded, Master." she informed the Knight before he flipped another switch.

The two Padawans then headed for the cargo bay before seeing the cable pull the pod towards the one-way shield keeping the cargo area from decompressing.

The older human male entered the cargo bay just as the cable detached and the pod slipped through the shield.

Once it hit the ground the three hanging on to the pod let go, both troopers letting out a small groan of relief as they landed on the floor.

"Come on, hurry!" Ahsoka said urgently and while jogging over to the Jedi Master. "Are you okay, Master Plo?" she asked, concern lacing her voice as she kneeled down beside him and helped him sit up right.

Before he could get a chance to reply, the Togruta noticed movement inside the pod. "There's someone in the pod." she informed the two human Jedi before Revan waved his hand and used the Force to remove the pod's viewport.

A clone naval officer stumbled out and coughed a bit before Anakin went over and wrapped an arm around his upper back to keep him from falling onto the ground.

The door opened a few seconds later to reveal the ship's medical droid before it walked over to the clone and Knight. "Will they be all right?" he asked the droid after helping the clone sit down and lean against the pod.

"The pressure suits offer some protection, but they require a medical frigate for recovery." it explained while kneeling in front of the clone.

"I will stabilize them, sir." the droid added. "Your men are safe now." the female Padawan assured Master Plo. "Tell me, were there any survivors?" he asked the older human.

"We couldn't find anybody else." he replied somberly. "The hunters must have destroyed the rest." the Jedi Master said, his own tone sombre as well.

"I'm sorry, Master Plo." Ahsoka apologized softly before giving him a hug. The older man returned it before she helped him stand.

The four Jedi then headed back to the door leading into the cockpit before Master Plo spoke when he and the other three entered the room.

"We tracked the mystery weapon to this system." he told them as the two human Jedi headed back to their seats and the female Jedi walked over to hers but didn't sit down.

"That is when we found out it was an ion cannon." he added. "An ion cannon?" Ahsoka asked, confusion lacing her tone.

"A weapon that neutralizes all power to our ships, leaving the targets defenseless." he explained as the radar on the co-pilot's console started to beep.

"There's a massive vessel approaching." Anakin informed them as the togruta sat in the co-pilot seat and the Jedi Master ran over to him before pressing buttons on his console to shut the ship's power off.

"Shut down the power systems before they detect us." he said urgently, still pressing buttons as the female Padawan started doing the same with her console.

Almost immediately after doing so, the ship started to drift before Artoo let out a worried beep. "The droid!" he exclaimed in worry, getting the attention of the other three before Revan got up from his seat and ran over to the droid.

The Padawan dropped to one knee and gave him a small apologetic smile before turning him off. Once done he stood back up and quickly headed back to his seat just as massive heavy cruiser appeared just outside.

"That is one big cruiser-crusher." Ahsoka said quietly, worry lacing her tone. Her fellow Padawan silently agreed with her as the cruiser continued moving closer.

Revan swallowed thickly as he and the others watched as the massive cruiser started to pass above them before turning and heading in the opposite direction.

A few seconds passed before they finally saw the back of the ship, unfortunately any chance to feel relieved was short-lived as the cruiser suddenly started to turn around.

"They're coming back." Anakin said, worry lacing his voice. "Are all the systems shut down?" Master Plo asked, his tone urgent before the medical droid walked into the cockpit.

"Is there a problem, sir?" it asked, gaining the attention of four people with surprised and worried expressions.

"We forgot to shut off the medical droid." Ahsoka said, tone matching her expression before she and Anakin turned their seats back around.

"We've got to get the power back on now!" the Knight exclaimed urgently while he, his Padawan and the Jedi Master started flipping switches and pressing buttons to get the ship running again.

"May I be of assistance?" the droid asked. "No, thanks. Just get in the back and take care of the clones." Anakin ordered.

"That is my programming, sir." it replied before exiting the cockpit. "Come on, we've gotta get out of here." the Knight said urgently to his Padawan.

"I know! I know!" she replied quickly before hearing the engines start up again. Anakin didn't waste a second to pilot the ship back through the debris field and away from the heavy cruiser.

"Artoo, program the navicomputer. Be ready to get us out of here." Anakin ordered the droid, his voice urgent as he flipped a switch on the controls above.

"You forgot we turned him off." his Padawan reminded, voice laced with exasperation. Luckily Master Plo was already solving problem by turning Artoo back on.

The droid let out a surprised beep before focusing on the Jedi as he spoke. "Koh-to-ya, droid." he greeted before Artoo beeped again.

"Artoo, program the hyperdrive." Ahsoka ordered before the droid beeped and turned around. "Anywhere. Hurry!" she exclaimed urgently before he plugged into the droid port.

As he did that, Anakin continued piloting the ship through the debris field before the sensors on both front consoles picked up a large energy source heading towards them.

"Master?" the Togruta asked, worry lacing her tone. The Knight didn't reply as he continued to weave the ship through the debris, Artoo letting out a beep as he did so.

A few seconds later they finally exited the debris field before the female Padawan spoke. "We're clear." she told her master before he pulled down a lever to activate the hyperdrive.

'Glad that's over.' Revan thought, quietly sighing relief and leaning back against his chair.

Resolute:

"Thanks for getting us out of there in one piece, General Skywalker." the clone nav officer whose name Revan learned was Wolffe, thanked the Knight.

The Padawan turned his attention from Ahsoka, who was currently checking on Artoo, to the two older men as they stopped at the bottom of the Twilight's ramp.

"You have my Padawan to thank for that." the Knight replied while looking over at her. "She always said you guys would pull through." he added as she stood back up and turned to face them.

"General Plo said someone would come from us. We're glad he was right." the clone said, relief in his voice as said Jedi walked down the ramp before stopping beside him.

"Skywalker, it is time to give our report to the Council." he told the younger Jedi before starting to walk away. "Right, the Council report..." he replied while following, tone making it clear was dreading the upcoming conversation.

The droid beeped before the older human male stopped and looked over his shoulder. "Come on, you two." he addressed the Padawans, gesturing for them to follow.

"You want me there?" Ahsoka asked in surprise, her tone both quiet and sounding uncertain. "I figured because of before-" she started to add, looking a bit downcast before he gently cut her off while walking up to her.

"Ahsoka, through it all you never gave up." he said, earning a small smile before continuing.

"You did a great job. But if I'm getting in trouble for this, you're gonna share some of the blame, too." he teased jokingly and with a small chuckle.

"So come on, let's go." he said while turning around. "Right beside you, Skyguy." the togruta replied before she, Revan and Artoo followed him and Master Plo.

And there it is. First chapter of the rewrite officially done.
