Chapter 4
Izumi walked over to where her sister was with her friends.
"Your outfit was wrecked. How the hell did you fall down?" Arisa asked, looking at Tohru.
"Well…"
"What's this? You washed your uniform? Too bad being covered in mud suits you." One of Yuki's fan girls said with a snarky tone.
Izumi cleared her throat looking at the girl.
"Oh… Izumi-kun…" The girl said her cheeks were going pale.
"Should I be concerned that you're bullying my sister?" Izumi questioned, her brow raised and crossing her arms as she looked at the girl clicking her tongue against her teeth.
"No, no." The girl said running off away from them.
Izumi rolled her eyes, scoffing a bit, putting her hands in her pockets. "Why didn't you tell me that they were picking on you this badly, Tohru?"
"Oh um… I…:"
"Tohru you know they're not going to leave you alone." Izumi said, letting out a breath.
"The prince came in late today too, so the girl's suspicious." Arisa said, running her hand through her hair.
"I'm going to change in the locker room." Tohru said softly.
"Want me to go with you?" Hanajima questioned looking at her friend.
"No, that's okay. I'm sure that they won't bother me now that Izumi knows what is going on."
Izumi put her hands on her hips. "Well, if I knew about this sooner I would've done something about it."
Tohru weakly nodded her head knowing that her sister wasn't happy with the whole thing of her being picked on. But it was something that she had grown used to and it didn't bother her as long as it didn't get in the way of her living her life.

"Izumi-san, can I talk to you for a moment?" Yuki said softly, coming up beside the young woman.
Izumi looked over her shoulder at Yuki. "Of course, Yuki-San." She followed Yuki to a room that had no one in it. She pursed her lips together in thought. "Yuki what is this all about?"
"You didn't tell anyone anything about us did you?" Yuki asked rather hopefully that she hadn't said anything.
"I would never. Jerks only blab behind others back. I'm not a jerk to do that to someone else. I'm sure you said the same thing to my sister?"
Yuki nodded his head.
"I'll swear an oath to you. Brand or write it in blood…"
Yuki sweatdropped.
"Oh…" Izumi let out a chuckle. "Mom was a bit… eccentric." She said softly rubbing the back of her neck.
Yuki let out a breath putting his hand on the one side of her keeping his voice low so no one could hear outside of what they were talking about. "You and your sister are nice enough to protect our secret. But they may erase your memories… same as Tohru-san."
"But…"
"I say erase but it's more like a kind of hypnotism. A long time ago our secret got out like it did today. I was in second grade. I was playing in the yard at home. When a girl hugged me as a joke. In the end, everyone had their memories wiped."
Izumi looked up at Yuki with a concerned look upon her face.
"I can't contradict Akito's wishes. Whatever he decides, I can't do anything about it. So I'm sorry. I'm sorry I got you and Tohru-san involved in the Sohma family's problem. That's all…"
Izumi reached out and touched Yuki's hand, stopping him.
Yuki looked up at Izumi seeing a soft dusting of blush appear on her cheeks.
"Thank you for worrying about Tohru and me. It makes me feel glad that someone is as caring as that." She admitted softly biting her lower lip softly. "I'm sure she said we would be fine. And that is what it will be, we'll be fine. Just like always. If I found out a secret that was so important to the person and the head of the family had to be informed. I can't blame you or anyone else. If our memories get erased… can you promise me something?"
Yuki's brows furrowed. He was rather surprised that she was taking this all in stride. Perhaps Tohru and Izumi being raised by their mother made their perspective of life different from others. "This whole thing doesn't disgust you?"
"No, of course not." Izumi said softly looking over at Yuki seeing blush dusting his cheeks. "Wow… he looks amazing with blush on his cheeks. Ugh get it together Izumi… he wouldn't see you that way. He thought you were a boy this entire time. He wouldn't see you as the girl that you truly are." Izumi thought to herself, berating herself.
"Would you like to walk with your sister and I after school?"
"Of course." Izumi said with a small smile. "Thankfully today I don't have to work at the cafe."
Yuki smiled softly.
"And I do hope your cousin fixed that hole in the roof that he made by coming through it…"
Yuki nodded his head. "The stupid cat better of… we couldn't have you two getting rained on if it decides to do that."
Izumi smiled softly. "Are you sure that you're alright with us staying with you?"
"Izumi-san we are doing this to protect the two of you. The weather elements are something to not be out in since it's been so hot lately."
Izumi let out a soft hum as her lips quirked a little bit in thought. "Thank you for this." She said softly.

The three of them arrived back at the Sohma home to notice that it was rather quiet. They went inside slowly.
Yuki looked around with his brows furrowed together. "Looks like Shigure isn't back yet."
"We'll leave our things upstairs." Tohru said with a small smile as the two of them headed up the stairs.
Izumi took a soft breath. "We'll be having a lot of work to make the room home for us." She said softly as they walked up the stairs to the room that was to be theirs. She stopped when she saw Kyo working on the roof.
"Um…" Tohru said softly, gripping her bag tightly to her chest.
"It's just temporary. Have a pro fix it for real later, but that should at least keep the rain out." Kyo said as he finished the ceiling.
"Right…"
Izumi put her bag down letting out a scoff.
"Hey."
Tohru looked up at Kyo. "Yes?"
"When I lose my temper. It's like I'm blind to everything around me. I didn't train enough and I keep losing to Yuki… So um… about this morning… about this morning. I'm sor…"
"I'm back! Yuki, Tohru, Izumi I'm home. You too, you stupid, bungling fight losing Kyo."
"Never mind dammit!"
Izumi let out a breath shaking her head. "Jerk." She said, pushing past him grabbing Tohru's arm. "Let him simmer in his anger. We can't have his anger rub off on us."
Tohru put her bag on top of Izumi's. "Of course…" She said softly before following her sister out of the room and down the stairs.
Izumi grumbled softly as she walked down the stairs.
"Does the way Kyo acts really upset you?" Tohru asked softly.
"When a guy simmers in that much anger and loses control… yes. It's why I hate most of my fanclub girls." She said simply as she walked into the other room.
"I bring good tidings. As long as you keep the secret, you can live here."
Tohru blinked a few times looking up at Shigure. "There's no punishment then?"
Izumi crossed her arms nervously in hopes that there was no punishment for them.
"In exchange you can't tell a single soul about our secret. Okay."
"Sounds like a good exchange to me." Izumi admitted softly.
"There's one more thing. You're supposed to live here too Kyo."
"Hey." Kyo snapped in anger. "Are you telling me to live under the same roof as that damned rat?"
"Whatever Akito decides is absolute." Shigure said looking at Kyo knowing that Kyo couldn't go against what Akito said.
Izumi looked at her sister with a small smile on her face watching her sister move towards Shigure and Yuki.
"Excuse me. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but thank you for letting us stay here again. Izumi and I really appreciate it."
Yuki looked at the two girls, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Sure. No problem.'
Tohru went over to where Kyo sat. "Thank you too, Kyo…"
"What the hell do I care if you stay in this stupid…"
Izumi's hand struck Kyo across the face hard, knocking him to the ground.
Kyo looked up at Izumi with wide eyes holding his injured cheek.
"Izumi…" Tohru said softly, looking at her sister.
Yuki blinked a few times in shock seeing Izumi strike someone so easily.
Izumi shook her red hand out. "You don't have to be such a jerk about it, you stupid cat. Now I can see why my favorite animal isn't a cat but a mouse." She said letting out a huff, her cheeks red in anger.
Yuki's cheeks flushed hearing Izumi's words.
"You didn't have to hit me!" Kyo snapped at Izumi.
Izumi narrowed her eyes. "Oh yes, I think I did. Ever since we got here you've been blinded by anger towards Yuki and then you're rude to my sister and I and you don't even know us. Is it because Tohru accidentally turned you into a cat? Not our fault… It's more your fault than anything."
Kyo narrowed his eyes on her.
"Tohru." Izumi said, turning her attention to her younger sister. "Shall we go through everything that Yuki got from our tent to see if it is all there?"
Tohru cleared her throat and nodded her head. "Right… of course." Tohru said as she grasped her sister's arm and headed out of the room leaving Kyo, Yuki and Shigure to finish wondering what had happened. "Are you sure that you wanted to hit Kyo?"
"He was being a jerk to us, Tohru… I know mom said violence isn't something that we need to use… but he…"
"Mom wouldn't be mad at you for hitting him. I'm sure that she would have done the same thing. But you know you didn't tell me something…"
"What's that?" Izumi questioned looking over at her sister.
"You hate cats, but never told me that your favorite animal was mice."
Izumi cleared her throat shyly. "I can't say no to mice. To me they're cute."
Tohru smiled softly. "I didn't know that."
"Well now you do."
