Ness was confused as to why Lucas and Sonic were staring each other down. He shouted at the hedgehog to grab his attention, but he never responded.

"Sonic! Can you hear me?!" Ness yelled.

Suddenly Sonic gave Lucas a shock expression. Did he finally snap out of whatever trance he's in?

"T-the chaos emeralds! Why do you have them?" Sonic was taken aback.

"What? Sonic, what're you talking about? What chaos emeralds?" Ness cocked his head to the side.

Sonic didn't even turn to look at Ness. It's like he was having a conversation with Lucas even though the blonde wasn't talking at all.

"Why are you giving them to me?" Sonic questioned.

"Sonic, what are you-

"Tch! Oh I'll give you a challenge. One you'll regret."

"What? Sonic, are you-

Sonic started charging up his dash attack. Ness's eyes widened in fear. He struggled to get up. He was still in a lot of pain. Seeing Sonic charge up his attack made Ness panic. He has to stop him, but his legs are wobbly and he feels sluggish. He's not going to make it in time.

"PK Lifeup!" Ness healed himself fully.

It cost a lot of power points. He wanted to save it for later, but this was more important. He ran as fast as he could toward the two. However, he saw Sonic let go.

"SONIC, DON'T!" Ness bellowed.

Sonic blasted himself toward Lucas and drilled into him. It looked like a saw was cutting into his best friend. Ness stopped and dropped to his knees when Sonic was done killing Lucas. He watched his best friend fall on the floor with his intestines exposed.

Sonic stood up and dusted himself off. He had purple blood all over him. He turned around to face Lucas.

"You shouldn't have given me those emeralds. Now, where's the exit?" Sonic pondered to himself.

Ness couldn't think anymore. All he felt was rage. Sonic didn't even care. He didn't even bat an eye. He killed Lucas. His Lucas… He ran full speed at Sonic and punched the daylights out of him.

Sonic shook his head and snapped out of it. His eyes widened in shock when he saw Ness in front of him.

"Huh? N-Ness is that you?! Y-you're not dead!" Sonic cheered.

"You… I'll kill you!"

"What!"

Ness blasted Sonic with PK Rockin. Sonic flew across the stage. He ended up scraping his right side. Ness ran at him and used PK Flash.

"DIE!"

Sonic took the hit and he couldn't stop crying. His eyes felt like they were on fire. Ness jumped up and used his dair spiking Sonic onto the ground so hard that he flew upwards. He jumped up and used his up air attack causing Sonic to feel immense pain. They both landed on the ground breathing heavily. The hedgehog struggled to get back up.

"NESS, WHAT THE HELL!" Sonic yelled.

"YOU FUCKING KILLED HIM!"

"MARIO? OF COURSE I DID! HE'S EVIL, REMEMBER?!"

"MARIO?! M-Mario? N-no, you killed Lucas!" Ness pointed at Lucas's body.

The two looked at the blonde and saw that he was trying to get back up. He was snarling at them, but because Sonic messed up Lucas pretty bad, the blonde's legs were too damaged to carry him.

"L-LUCAS?! W-what's he doing here? No, I… I killed Mario," Sonic panicked.

"You fucking monster!"

Ness ran at him again. It was hard to see Sonic due to the tears covering his vision. He swung his arm for a punch, but the hedgehog dodged.

"Ness, listen to me!" Sonic begged.

"NO!"

Ness used his strongest PK Rockin yet. It cost a lot of energy, but he didn't care. He wanted Sonic dead. The hedgehog was hit. He screamed in pain and laid there on the floor. Ness walked over and looked down on him.

"Ness, don't do this," Sonic begged.

"You… You killed my best friend."

"I didn't mean to. I didn't know it was him!"

"Why? Why, Lucas?"

"I thought he was Mario."

"Excuses!"

"Ness, why would I kill Lucas?"

"Because! You saw that he was infected."

"No, I wouldn't do that. Not to him. Not to anyone. Whenever I did, it was an accident. Remember Joker? It was never my intention to kill any of our friends."

"Lies!"

"If you kill me, you're no better than Mario."

"I…"

Ness froze. Is he really going to kill Sonic? It's the clone all over again. He was furious, but seeing Sonic on the ground giving him a sincere face made him snap out of it. He dropped on the floor and started ugly crying. He was coughing and gasping for air.

Sonic went over to him and gave him a hug. Ness desperately hugged him back.

"I… Lucas… I… I was such… I was such a bad friend," Ness choked.

"I'm so sorry…"

"He… He was… He was my everything. I… *Coughs* I… *Coughs* I can't…"

Sonic closed his eyes and started crying on Ness's shoulder. He didn't mean to kill Lucas. He really thought he was fighting Mario. Seeing Ness like this broke his heart. He killed Ness's best friend. He actually killed him. He's never felt so guilty in his entire life.

"I… I didn't mean it," Sonic sobbed.

Suddenly the room left cold. He and Ness opened their eyes and saw that they were no longer in the pictochat room. They were in the Final Destination stage. They pulled away from each other and stood up staring at the world in disbelief.

"W-what?" Ness's jaws dropped.

Clap Clap Clap

They both looked up to see Mario hovering over them.

Mario: "Hello, Ness."

Ness: "M-Mario?!"

Sonic: "Wait, y-you're actually here?!"

Mario: "Yes. It's actually me this time."

The two looked to where Lucas was hoping that it was a mirage. Unfortunately no, his body was still struggling to get back up.

Mario: "He's actually dead."
Ness: "Y-you did this!"

Mario: "You guys were under my spell. I created the whole thing. It was nothing but a hallucination. Except Lucas was real and I tricked Sonic into thinking he was me."

Sonic: "I was under a trance? We've been in the Final Destination stage this entire time?"

Mario: "Yes, I even made popcorn while I watched you two suffer."

Ness: "What! You were just toying with us?!"

Mario: "Yes. Isn't it funny?"

Ness: "Y-you tricked Sonic into killing my best friend for your amusement?!"

Mario: "Of course."

Sonic: "You fucking bastard!"

Mario: "Hey, I thought it was a fun show. Wasn't it, Clone Ness?"

Ness: "C-Clone Ness?"

Mario moved out of the way. Sonic and Ness widened their eyes when they saw Nate chained to a royal king's chair. He looked terrified.

Nate: "G-guys… I… I can't move. It… Hurts."

Sonic and Ness: "NATE!"

Mario: "Wasn't it fun, Clone Ness?"

Nate: "Help… Me…"

Mario: "I asked you a question!"

Mario raised his hand at Nate. The clone started screaming in pain. He was causing Nate's body to squeeze and squish into itself. He was compressing him! Ness and Sonic cringed when they heard a bone snap.

Nate: "AAAAAAAAAH!"

Mario: "If you don't answer my question, I'll make that chair squeeze you to death."

Ness: "STOP!"

Sonic: "LEAVE HIM ALONE!"

Mario: "Answer the question. Wasn't it fun?"

Nate: "Y-YES!"

Mario released his power and his body was able to relax again. He started breathing heavily. Tears were falling from his eyes. He looked miserable.

Sonic: "Holy shit…"

Ness: "Mario, why are you doing this to us? Why… What did we do? Why are you so evil?"

Mario: "I'm not evil. I'm trying to make Smash great again."

Ness: "What?"

Mario: "I'm tired of these fucking non Nintendo characters being here when they don't deserve to be."

Sonic: "Nintendo characters? What are you talking about?"

Mario: "Kazuya, Joker, Cloud, and fucking Steve is here for some reason. They changed Smash. It's not the same anymore. It used to be fleshed out and only Nintendo characters were allowed back then."

Sonic: "That's ridiculous. You went through all this trouble just to get rid of the characters that aren't Nintendo?"

Mario: "It's wrong! Shantae, Waluigi, or Geno should be here. Not these stupid play station characters. They don't belong. They don't deserve to be here."

Ness: "So, you tortured me and friends because you didn't agree with Sakurai's game?"

Mario: "I knew you wouldn't get it."

Ness: "Of course I wouldn't! You're crazy!"

Mario: "I should've killed you a long time ago."

Ness: "Why me? Why do you hate me in particular?"

Mario: "You almost ruined my plans. You've always been a pain in my side. Plotting against me and escaping the home I gave you."

Ness: "You kidnapped me!"

Sonic: "And me!"

Mario: "You deserved it! You're nothing but a dog! But it's all good. You're here now to witness the new world."

Sonic: "New world?"

Mario: "The new super smash bros game. Super Smash Bros Legends!"

Sonic: "You can't do this!"

Mario: "I can and I will. In this game there will be no Steve, Joker, and Sora. There will be no Kirby, Sonic, and what's that one game nobody cares about? Oh yeah, no Earthbound."

Ness: "So, you're going to delete me?"

Mario: "You're going first."

Ness: "I'll kill you!"

Ness jumped up and tried to punch Mario, but he easily dodged out of the way. Sonic too joined the fight. He used his homing dash attack. Mario took out his hand and held Sonic like a ball. He then threw him on the ground. Ness watched in disbelief. Sonic laid there desperately trying to get up, but he couldn't. Mario's attack was brutal.

Nate: "SONIC!"

Mario winked at Ness and slapped him across the face. This smack felt worse than Mickey's. Next, Mario kicked him onto the ground. The teen coughed up blood. What is this power? One kick and Ness could barely move. He lied there not knowing what to do. He has room left for one more PK Flash, but it's slow compared to Mario's Godly speed. Even if it hits, it'll most likely make him tear him. It's too risky. He should use the rest of his power points to heal instead.

"P-PK L-Life-

Huh? His body. It won't move. Why can't he move? He felt his wounds close up. Did he use it without realizing? No, he can still feel that he has energy to use another PK Flash. His strongest one too. Wait, he feels great like a good night's rest. Why?

He looked over at Mario who smiled a sinister smile. What did he do to him? His body got up on his own. What! He didn't tell himself to do that.

Mario moved his hand upwards and for some reason Ness's hand pointed at Nate. He tried to fight it, but it wouldn't listen. Oh no… Mario has full control over his body.

Mario: "Well, Clone Ness, this has been a fun journey, hasn't it?"

Nate: "..."

Mario: "But I don't need you anymore."

Nate stared at Ness in horror.

Mario: "Well, Ness, looks like you finally got your wish."

Ness: "L-Let me go!"

Mario: "You've always wanted Clone Ness to die, didn't you?"

Ness: "N-no! Don't make me do this!"

Mario: "What, sudden change of heart? I thought you hated him."

Ness: "STOP!"

Nate closed his eyes. He figured he would die from Ness's hands, but he didn't expect this. Oh well, he's just a clone anyway. He wasn't supposed to be here in the first place. He wasn't supposed to exist.

Mario: "Any last words, Clone?"

Nate: "Yeah. I just want to say thank you, Ness. For forgiving me. I truly do feel bad for what I did to you and your friends. I'm sorry."

Mario: "Aww, how cute. Now die."

Ness: "No, no, no, no! NATE!"

Ness started crying. He tried fighting back. He really did, but his body no longer listened. It charged up a powerful PK Flash and went straight for Nate.

Nate saw the PK Flash heading straight for him. He saw his life flash before his eyes. All those memories of him being with Leaf, Lucas, Tina, Popo, and Toon Link made him tear up. If only he had another chance at life. If only he could restart. He wouldn't have done those things to Ness's friends. Yeah, if only…

Right when Nate was about to get hit, a pink blur flew in front of him. It was a woman riding on a star. Everything in that moment was in slow motion. He watched her create a portal that sucked Ness's PK Flash inside and in an instant it was gone.

Everyone stared at the lady in shock. They couldn't believe their eyes.

Ness: "K-Kirby?!"
