Chapter 9
"We tried it you're way and now we do it my way." Brooke said.
"The police are looking. You've drove around."
"I don't know what to do." Lucas replied.
"This started because of what you told him."
"He wanted you're approval and support." Brooke proclaimed.
"I know that. I have been trying to protect him."
"I know what it means to be targetted in this town."
"The whispers. The stares. Wanting to crawl out of you're skin and disappear. I never wanted that for him."
"It's bad enough they live in the spotlight with no control over that."
"I didn't want to tell him what i did. I didn't see another way."
"At school out in the world he has to survive without us there."
"I wanted to blend in to be safe." Lucas confessed. The emotion in his voice thick.

"I need him back to me. To us." Brooke sobbed.
Lucas pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.
"He's going to come back to us." Lucas reassured her.
"I'll be here if any of you need anything." Rachel said.
"How's our girl?" Rachel asked in the hallway.
"She's desperate to have our boy home and I am too." Lucas replied.
...
Rachel quietly left. She drove home got inside and felt her heart leap into her chest at the sight of Lennon.
The boy came out of the living room.
"I used the extra key. That you keep outside."
"I needed to get away." Lennon explained.
"I don't want to go home. Can't i stay here with you for awhile?" Lennon asked.
"Aunt Rachel please." Lennon pleaded.
