When All Was Lost...

Chapter Nineteen

Further in, Crow was backed into a corner by another one of the many members but he had the duel pretty much wrapped up, and Jack knocked around his enemies right and left.

He was right.

They didn't seem strong at all...

That had to be why they were coming at them in such big numbers.

Akarii had finally made her way onto the roof where she was shook by the scene that played before her.

"Ahhhh!" Yusei was screaming as he fell from the building at a rapid pace.

"YUSEEIIII!" she cried, making an attempt to run and catch him.

I can't!

There's no way I'll make it to him in time...

NO!

Suddenly a cord shot from no where grasping his wrist leaving him hanging "by the ropes" you could say...

"Kalin!" relief washed over Akarii's trembling body as she fell to her knees trying to regulate her heart rate.

Thank God...

"Akarii! Don't you worry about Yusei I got this situation handled-go after the guy who made him fall!" called Kalin,"I'd do it myself but as you can see...I pretty much have my hands full..."

"Kalin..."

"Save it Yusei!" Kalin snapped,"Hurry up and climb!"

Akarii took in a few shaking breaths, but she had to calm down...Yusei was okay...for now. Meanwhile up ahead she saw one of the gang members they were facing, and called him out.

"Awww...little princess wanna fall together with her prince charming~" he laughed, and walked toward her menacingly with heavy steps. He was a rather large man...and she was rather small, backing away slowly... but she couldn't go too far...or she would have been the one taking the swan dive over the edge-

"Hahaha...no where to run...princess~"

"Akarii!" she could hear Crow calling for her from the stairs but before he could make an attempt of rescue he was soon stopped in his tracks.

"Don't make a move or I'll see that the girl meets the same fate as your friends over there~!"

"What?" Crow stopped and looked over to find Yusei and Kalin struggling to stay in tact.

"No, Yusei!"

"Kalin needs your help don't worry about me!" Akarii called to him,"Hurry and help them."

"I wouldn't be so sure about 'not worrying about you'" He was a big man who walked with a heavy step...

Clearly the gang leader.

Once he dished out what he had to say he grinned and gave the grates below a good stomp causing a reverberation that knocked the girl off balance.

"Akarii!" she could hear Crow's cry, torn between the predicament of helping pull Yusei up while watching her fall. She was the smallest member of the team.

The youngest.

'The Girl'.

And little girls shouldn't play with big boys...

So that often made her target number 1 for victimizing.

A Big Mistake.

Thinking quickly she released the grapple from her duel disk, snagging the man as she fell, the velocity dragging him down in a sudden motion. He couldn't stop the action that was already in motion leaving him to make one of two choices: yank her back quickly to save himself from falling, or fall into hell together.

Needless to say his choice was the obvious one. He anchored himself quickly and gave the cord a quick snag back to save himself from falling.

It resulted in a heavy slam of her body against the wall, but she was alive, and able to climb back to safety.

"You're reckless, you know that!?" the guy huffed,"Absolutly crazy!"
Akarii chuckled at his accusations, spitting a bit of blood from her busted lip and giving him a grin.

"Yeah I know that." she huffed softly,"...Been told that once or twice."

Now that she had him locked in, a grin held firm to her face while she prepped her duel disk for the game.

"You're that desperate for me to knock you around huh?" he chuckled,"Fine I'll take you on, and once this is over, I am going to enjoy taking you out...Let's Duel!"
