"No," Elena stated calmly as she stood with Bonnie and Stefan in the old house that belonged to Bonnie's ancestors. Bonnie had asked her to help her and Stefan open one of Klaus' coffins by helping her find her mother.
"W…What?" Bonnie asked, caught off guard.
"Bonnie, if you want to find your mother one day in the future because you want to talk to her, I will be more than happy to help you do that, but not for this. I want no part of this, and I want no part of him," Elena said as she pointed to Stefan.
Stefan rolled his eyes. "I guess you're still emotional about last night."
Elena bristled inside at her ex-boyfriend's indifference to what he did to her, but she ignored it. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She wasn't even going to acknowledge his presence any longer. "You shouldn't do this either, Bonnie. I guarantee you that it will not be what you expect."
"Elena, that coffin could be what we need to stop Klaus," Bonnie said.
"Or you could be opening Pandora's box with your plan. Either way, I won't have anything to do with it," Elena said firmly.
"Elena I've been having dreams about this coffin for weeks. I have to open it. I have to trust that my ancestors know what they're talking about," Bonnie said.
"Then you'll have to do without me because the answer is no," Elena said.
"Would you get over yourself, Elena. All that matters is destroying Klaus," Stefan said.
"Elena, why are you being like this? You've been one of the driving forces on trying to stop Klaus," Bonnie said. It was like her friend did a complete one-eighty. She seemed to have given up completely on stopping Klaus, and her behavior towards Stefan came completely out of left field.
"Yeah, I did that to save Stefan, but there's nothing left worth saving anymore," Elena said. Again, she completely ignored Stefan.
Stefan barely managed to stop himself from flinching. Elena's words did cut, however he quickly shrugged it off. It didn't matter what she thought of him. All that mattered was hurting Klaus. That was his only goal.
"Why do you say that? What did Stefan do?" Bonnie asked.
"You can ask him if you want, or Caroline. I've wasted enough of my life on him," Elena said.
"Alright, no matter what your issues with Stefan are, we still have to stop Klaus. We're doing this for you, Elena," Bonnie said.
"No, you may be doing it for me, and I'm telling you I don't want you to. Stefan is doing it for himself. That's the only person he cares about," she said.
"You can thank Klaus for that," Stefan said.
If Elena wanted to acknowledge Stefan, she'd tell him to get over himself and grow up, but why even waste her breath? It wouldn't make a difference. Stefan was never going to admit responsibility or change his behavior. She was done making a fool out of herself by trying to appeal to him.
"What about Klaus?" Bonnie asked.
"What about him? I don't care about Klaus. He's not a threat to me. I am literally probably the only person on this planet that he won't kill. I'm not fighting Klaus anymore. I don't care enough to," Elena said before turning to walk away. She didn't even make it a step before she felt Stefan's hand on her upper arm.
Stefan yanked her arm and forced her to look at him. "You're not going to tell anyone about this."
Elena glared hatefully at Stefan. "Take your hand off of me."
"Or what?" Stefan asked.
Elena's answer was to yank open the coffin next to her with her free hand and take a firm grip of the dagger deep in the heart of an original she hadn't met yet. If Stefan didn't let go, or if he tried to pull her away, the dagger would come out. "Take. Your. Hand. Off. Of. Me."
"You wouldn't," Stefan said, though there was an uneasiness to his voice. Elena had acted much differently today than she ever had in the past. He wasn't entirely sure what she'd do.
"Try me," Elena challenged. She tightened her grip on the dagger.
Reluctantly, Stefan released his grip on her.
Elena let go of the dagger. She did consider taking it out anyway, but she didn't know this original or what he was capable of. It was better not to risk it. "Touch me again and you'll regret it."
"Elena…" Bonnie started.
"I've said all I'm going to about this, Bonnie. Goodbye," Elena said before walking away.

Elena was at home sitting in her living room. She was contemplating whether or not she wanted to tell Klaus that she knew where his coffins were. If it were just Stefan, she'd happily screw him over, but she could be putting Bonnie at risk if she told him. She didn't agree with what Bonnie was doing, but she was still her friend.
Elena soon heard a knock at the front door. She went to answer it and found Damon there.
"Hey," Damon said before making his way inside.
"What do you want, Damon?" Elena asked. She had a feeling that his visit had something to do with what happened earlier between her, Stefan, and Bonnie, and she wasn't interested.
"I hear you've abandoned the 'kill Klaus' fan club. Why?" Damon asked.
"I'm sure you know why? If Stefan told you that much, I'm sure he told you the rest," Elena said.
Damon sighed. "Yeah. Look, he probably wouldn't have done it."
Elena laughed bitterly. "He would've, and even if he wouldn't have, am I just supposed to be okay with it?"
"No, but it worked. It spooked Klaus enough for him to do what Stefan wanted. Klaus has a weakness," Damon said.
"I don't care. I'm not doing this anymore, Damon. I'm not helping you target Klaus. It never ends the way you want it to, and my reason for doing it in the first place is gone. I went after Klaus to help Stefan. Helping Stefan doesn't matter to me anymore. He can go to hell," Elena said.
Damon sighed. "Well, it turns out we don't need your help anymore. Bonnie found her mom without you. She and Stefan went to talk to her."
Now Elena knew she could not tell Klaus. Klaus would go after Bonnie and her mother. She couldn't let that happen. "Great. Why are you here then?"
"To figure out what's going on with you. I get that you're pissed, but Klaus has to be stopped no matter what the cost," Damon said.
"If that's what you want, you do whatever you have to, but I won't have a part of it anymore. I'm done with it. I'm done with Stefan completely," Elena said firmly.
"Why? You forgave me when I forced you to drink my blood," Damon pointed out. He should be grateful that Elena hated Stefan because it paved the way for him, but it just didn't sit well with him. This wasn't Elena. She always forgave when they hurt her.
"I forgave you because despite how much I hated you for what you did in that moment, I knew you thought you were doing it for my benefit. You were trying to save me. Stefan used me as a pawn. But for the record, I'm done forgiving you too. Keep that in mind before doing something stupid next time. Forgiveness has gotten me nowhere. All its done is made you and Stefan think you can walk all over me. It's turned me into a fool. Well, not anymore. I will not let you guys keep making a fool out of me, and I won't pay the price for your foolishness anymore either," Elena told him. She wasn't writing Damon off yet, but she was putting him on notice. She would not put up with his crap anymore. It didn't really matter anyway. Once he found out that she slept with Klaus, he'd hate her too. That was fine. If he hated her for that, he wasn't her friend.
"Elena…"
"You should go, Damon. I've said all I'm going to say about this," Elena said before opening the front door once more, making it very clear that she wanted him to leave.
Damon sighed before reluctantly walking out the door.
