Klaus grinned from ear to ear as he sat with his brother and the Salvatore's. He and Elijah had invited them to dinner under the pretense of making a deal for his last coffin. Klaus had no intention of making a deal, but he did intend to enjoy himself before her tortured the location of his mother's coffin from the two brothers.
They had all just sat down when a member of his staff set an extra place between him and Elijah, just as he instructed.
Elijah frowned as he watched the young woman bring over an extra chair and set down a plate and silverware. "Niklaus?"
"Hmm? Oh, yes, I knew there was something I forgot to mention. I invited one more guess to join us for dinner." Klaus said with a grin.
Damon rolled his eyes. "Let me guess, your homicidal sister? I guess you woke her up."
Klaus laughed. "Oh, no. Rebekah is still enjoying a peaceful sleep. Actually, I think you'll be quite happy to see my guest, Damon."
Elijah pinched the bridge of his nose. "Niklaus, tell me you didn't."
"Oh, brother, you know me better than that. Of course, I did," Klaus said cheerfully.
Elijah shook his head in disappointment. He didn't approve of what his brother was doing with that young woman. He told Elena that he didn't judge her, and he didn't, but he did judge his brother. Elena was a kind young woman, who was hurt and angry. Niklaus was using her, and it wasn't right.
"Alright, this isn't some dinner date. We're here to negotiate," Stefan said.
Soon, there was a knock at the door. "That will be her now. Excuse me, gentlemen. I wouldn't be a proper host if I didn't show my girl in myself."
Klaus went to the door and opened it revealing Elena. "There she is. Hello, sweetheart. I was getting worried."
"Sorry about that. I ran late," Elena said.
Both Stefan and Damon stood up as soon as they heard Elena's voice.
Klaus leaned in and kissed Elena, a move she immediately reciprocated, as he felt one hand on the back of his neck and the other on his hip.
"What the hell?" Damon asked in disbelief.
Stefan could only stare in shock and rage. How could she? She knew how much he hated Klaus, and she sitting her making out with him as though it was no big deal. How long had this been going on? Had she slept with him.
After a few moments, Klaus pulled away and took Elena's hand before leading her to the table.
Elena smirked as she got a look at Stefen's face. That was exactly what she wanted. No, it was better than what she wanted. The satisfaction she felt was wonderful. She could see the rage displayed on his face. He felt betrayed, which was ridiculous, but now he had an idea of what she felt when she tried to pull her off that bridge. She felt a little bad for Damon. She knew this would upset him, but at the same time, she didn't owe him anything. They weren't together, and she'd made it clear to him that they never would be. Maybe this would finally imprint that message onto him.
"Gentlemen, please sit back down. We were about to have dinner after all," Klaus said before pulling Elena's chair out for her. "There you go, love."
Both Stefan and Damon both sat back down while staring at Elena with disbelief, and in Stefan's case, rage.
"You're so sweet," Elena said before turning to Elijah. "Hey, Elijah. Sorry again about last night. I can imagine that the last thing you wanted was to see your brother in that position."
"Oh, no, the apologies are mine. I should be more careful in the future," Elijah said. He didn't like that this was happening, but who was he to deny Elena her revenge."
"Yes, if he doesn't like what he sees, he should knock before entering someone else's bedroom," Klaus said.
"You're sleeping with him?" Stefan asked Elena angrily.
"I would've thought that would've been obvious," Klaus said with a smirk.
Damon gave Klaus the biggest death glare he could. "What did you do to her? You compelled her, didn't you?"
"Now, that's a bit insulting, isn't it? As though I need to compel someone into my bed," Klaus said.
"Plus, I'm taking vervain. Damon knows that," Elena said.
"How could you? He's a monster, Elena. How could you be with him?" Stefan asked.
"Easily. Sure, he's a monster, but he's not the first monster I've been with. At least Klaus admits what he is," Elena said.
Stefan flinched at her words. As much as he didn't want to be affected, he was. "I am what I am because of him."
Elena scoffed. "Grow up, Stefan. Stop blaming other people for who you are. Your humanity isn't off anymore, and it wasn't when you threatened to take me off that bridge. Your choices are yours."
"That's what this is, isn't it? You slept with him out of revenge. You're pathetic, Elena," Stefan snarled. He hoped to get some kind of reaction from her, but he didn't. She looked right through him, like nothing he said mattered.
"I was pathetic. I was pathetic to waste so much of my life on you. That's over though. I will not waste so much as another moment of my life on you. And, yes, the first time, it was about revenge. It gave me satisfaction to screw you over the same way you did me. Every time after that though, I did it for me. I did it because one night with Klaus was better months' worth with you. I can't even begin to tell you the places he took me too," Elena said.
"Elena, I would request that you don't, at least not in my presence," Elijah said.
Damon scrunched his face in disgust. He felt sick. He couldn't believe she'd done this. How could she sleep with Klaus of all people? How could she do that to him. "Is this why you wouldn't help us with the coffins?"
"I told you exactly why I wouldn't get involved in that asinine plan. I'm frankly sick and tired of dealing with the fallout from your stupid plans," Elena said.
"Yes, it's always you who pays for it, isn't it, love? Anyway, shall we eat? The food is getting cold," Klaus said.
"I'm leaving," Stefan said before getting up.
Damon pulled his brother back down. He wanted nothing more than to leave and drag Elena out with him, before demanding an explanation from her, but they'd come for a reason. They needed to buy Bonnie and her mother more time. "We came to make a deal."
Elena snorted. She doubted that was why they actually came. She didn't know why they came, and she didn't care. She'd gotten what she wanted out of the evening. Well, most of it. She'd get the rest when everyone left and she had Klaus to herself. After all, there last night together was cut short.
"Ah, yes, but after we eat," Klaus said before picking up his fork.

Never let it be said that Elijah couldn't be just as petty as his little brother, Elena thought to herself as she watched their siblings stab Klaus with daggers. That had been Elijah's idea of desert. He'd kicked the Salvatores out right after they showed up. Damon had tried to make her go with him, but she was having none of that. The days of her letting a Salvatore lead her around were done. Luckily, Elijah had come to her aid and forced them to leave with threats of bodily harm.
Elena had stayed to watch the show. She might enjoy sex with Klaus, but that didn't mean she didn't also enjoy watching him get his ass kicked.
Elena smirked at Elijah. "So, life lesson. Never dagger you again."
Elijah gave her a half a smile. "You acted to protect your loved ones. That is why I forgave you so easily.
After she was done with Klaus, Rebekah turned on Elena. If it isn't the backstabbing bitch who stuck a dagger in my back. You must have a death wish to show up here, Rebekah said.
"That will do, sister," Elijah said before getting in the middle of them.
"She stabbed me in the back!" Rebekah snarled.
"In my defense, I was caught in the middle of a Salvatore plan. I was trying to lesson the odds of it blowing up. I should've known better," Elena said.
"You'll not lay a finger on my doppelganger, Rebekah," Klaus said before moving to Elena's side now that everyone had stopped stabbing him.
Rebekah laughed. "Well, I hope you will be happy with your blood bank and your hybrids because we're leaving you for good, right Elijah?"
Elijah sighed. That had been his plan, but he didn't think he could do that now. Elena had submerged herself into his brother's world. That had become clear tonight, and he couldn't in good conscience leave her alone there. "I can't."
"What?" Rebekah asked.
Just then, the doors burst open, and a woman in old fashioned clothing walked in. Elena watched as the Mikaelson siblings all looked dumbfounded. Klaus also looked frightened. Much to Elena's shock, the woman introduced herself as their mother and pronounced her forgiveness to Klaus.
Elena suddenly got up. "Okay, this went from entertaining to extremely awkward and creepy. I'm going home." Before she left, however, she pulled Klaus in for a kiss, if for no other reason than to see the look on Rebekah's face. She was rewarded because as she passed her, Rebekah gawked in disbelief.
