(Chapter 18: Time for a Test!)
It would soon be the month of June and moreover time for our trio of Naruto, Ami and Sasuke to have their test to show their new sensei in Obito what they could do together, and if the almost predatory expressions they had on their faces were anything to go by…the scarred Uchiha was almost regretting telling them come at him like they wanted to kill him.
(June 6th, 997 S.E, 12:25 Pm, Land of Forests)
It would be a sunny Tuesday afternoon as our trio had flown down to the forested location of their test on Mantabomber's back; geared and ready to go for an assault mission more than a 'friendly' test of their martial and adaptive capabilities; with the Ultimatrix wielder landing and morphing back to normal to the sight of an impressed Obito.
"You three look a bit…overdressed for the occasion." Obito remarked as the trio were dressed in tactical gear and armor
"You did want us to come at you like we wanted your head. So we did just that." Naruto replied as he passed his satchel around for everyone to start taking their weapons
"That's a very good point, but I really didn't think you guys would be this prepared." Obito replied while Sasuke took out a high-powered pistol and Ami a high-powered rifle
"By the way guys, I upgraded the rounds your stuff can fire. Ami's yours can hold 20 and Sasuke you got 12 a pop before you run out." Naruto said as he handed them magazines for their weapons
"What about stopping power, Naruto? That and range is the most of what I'm curious about regarding this new weapon." Sasuke questioned as he slotted the magazine in
"That's upgraded as well, so if it ain't wearing Anbu grade armor; then its getting a hole punched right through it. Plus, I made it so you can shoot from 160 feet away comfortably, and 200 before you really start pushing it." Naruto informed the Uchiha
"I will give credit where its due Naruto. If all else fails, then you definitely have a future as a arms maker." Ami said as she looked at her firearm with nothing but lethal intentions
"Thanks, but there's a lot more goodies than that; that I prepped for today. Since we're dealing with Uncle Obito here, I figured that we needed to bring our A-Game." Naruto told them as he locked his satchel back up
"Speaking of, what or who is our test going to be up against?" Sasuke questioned his uncle now sensei
"Simple, the three of you are going to be taking on a group of rogue ninja for your test…Nothing too bad that the 3 of you can handle. The 3 of you will have the next hour to defeat them, the moment you engage." Obito told them
"Any idea of who or what we're gonna be up against?" Ami asked as she held her rifle in hand
"You will be fighting the group of rogue ninja known funnily enough as the Shinobazu. While they're a bunch of tough cookies to crack, I'm pretty sure they'll still be light-work for all of you...At least they should be all things considered, and if not I will jump in if shit hits the fan." Obito answered back in having figured that said triad would be good targets for his genin
"Those schmucks...the people that call themselves the Ninja Dropouts? Huh, this really will be light work, after all." Ami said unphased and if anything slightly insulted that they were being fed those idiots
"However, you 3 are to work together as a team to take them out. Anything else goes for your test, since I know the 3 of you are capable of being menaces in your own right, but I want to see what the 3 of you can do together…Am I understood?" Obito informed his squad of the stipulation of facing the group of rogues in question
"Sir, yes, sir!" All 3 sounded off
"Good then move out, and get this done quickly." Obito ordered as all 3 nodded and headed into the Forest of Bewilderment to take out their quarry
From there the trio were quick to make their way into the Forest of Bewilderment wherein Naruto had quickly turned into HardLight in order to better track the energy signatures of the members of Shinobazu. The trio continuing towards their quarry with relative ease, as within the span of 5 minutes the trio were able to find their hideout, wherein HardLight nodded to his compatriots as he summoned forth a soccer-ball sized globule of light that he sent out towards the leader of Shinobazu.
All the while said leader of Shinobazu was tinkering with his umbrella; in working installing more modifications too it, yet his modifying his favored weapon would be brought to a halt once the globule of bluish-violet light suddenly exploded into a brilliant eye-searing and eardrum rupturing burst of energy…From there Sasuke and Ami were quick to dash forward and open fire on a blinded and disoriented Shura; who was left at the mercy of being pumped full of bullets that left holes the size of large marbles in his chest, stomach and neck before they ceased their onslaught.
What with Sasuke and Ami then opening up with a volley of surpressive fire against Toki whom they saw rounding the corner with his mechanical drilling arm being used as a makeshift shield to block the bullet-fire from the duo, albeit with multiple holes being made as they continued to pepper him with more and more gunfire. However, Toki wasn't able to protect themselves for long given that they let out a sharp choked gasp of pain from a pair of sharpened claws erupting from their chest, as he looked behind him to see the terrifying visiage of Phantasma staring back at them; who'd use their companions supressive fire to change forms and phase into the hideout and get the drop on him. Hence why Phantasma was able to quickly disembowel the 2nd member of the Shinobazu by slashing both of his claws up and outwards; leaving only piles of blood covered innards plopping to the floor in a slick heap of carnage.
After Phantasma had finished disposing of Toki, he then went intangible/invisible to track down where Monju who was hiding at while his companions ran forward and began to take cover should…with said Shinobazu member running away from the base after heaing multiple loud bangs and a choked death gargle of a scream from his companion. Yet Monju wasn't able to make it too far from the base given that once Phantasma saw them in their sights; that he immediately dived towards the fleeing Shinobazu member who decided that after hearing all the weird yet undeniably fucked noises coming from the base decided to make a run for it.
Unfortunately, they didn't make it so much as 20 yards past their hideout before they found themselves stop in place as they're body locked up as though all feeling had left their body, and their mind shunted and stuffed deep within the recesses of their mind; while deep pitch black cracks apeared in their flesh as their eyes turned a distrubing shade of royal blue. Which signified Monju being fully taken over by the Ultimatrix wielder who walked towards the hideout and called out to Sasuke and Ami to open fire upon him…of which the duo shrugged and did so knowing that Phantasma's possession would make it so Monju too the full punishment while Phantasma was left unscathed.
As such the duo did just that, emptying the clips inside of their respective weapons inside of Monju; making sure to hit every vital organ they could as they fired upon the possessed Monju, who was soon riddled with bullet holes to the point of being rendred a bloodied pincushion of a man…So after Monju was turned into a bullet riddled cadaver, Phantasma exited the last of the Shinobazu and turned into Mantabomber so that he and his compatriots could return to their sensei as one single thought over the swiftness of their test remained in their mind.
'If this is what being an official shinobi is truly like, then this is going to be light-work/finna be a breeze/be a cake-walk' Were the collective thoughts of Team 7 as they flew back to regroup with their sensei
(The next day, Naruto's House, 1:45 Pm, June 7th, 997 S.E)
Meanwhile, the following day had come as Naruto was chilling at his house with Ino; whilst Ami was at one of the ROOT training grounds practicing with the firearms Naruto had made, and Sasuke being busy babysitting for Izumi; left him hanging out with his fellow blonde.
"So let me get this straight. You, Sasuke, and Ami took down a group of rogue ninja by yourselves, as part of your genin test?" Ino asked
"Mmhmm. Honestly, it was a lot easier than what you would think, Ino." Naruto answered back as he had one of his service drones roll in and serve her an iced tea
"Because it was pretty much light work the whole way through. I'm talking about it taking us less than 6 minutes to get in and get out, and call it a day." Naruto further spoke on the ease of which it took to eliminate the Shinobazu members
"It sounds like you guys got to have the most awesome genin test ever. Meanwhile, I didn't even get to do anything even half as cool as you guys! Fucking sucks being on one of the most crappy teams ever!" Ino lamented over her lackluster time with her team
"Hey, in defense of your sensei. Not everyone is gonna start off; ready to throw you into the hellfire, like Uncle Obito. So cut the guy some slack, Ino, I'm sure he's working you guys up to it in no time." Naruto said as Ino took her tea and drank it in irritation of not getting to do anything fun like her fellow blonde
"Still, it wouldn't kill Asuma-sensei to do something exciting for our first outing together. All we did was laze around or he and Shikamaru play shogi…If we aren't going to be doing anything interesting soon, then I will have someone's ass soon enough!" Ino said back angry over the lackluster 1st day with her teammates
'At least Naruto made really good tea.' Ino noted to herself
"Give it time and I'm sure something fun will pop up…I may not be a fortune-teller, but I know that eventually your gonna get your shot. All you gotta do is show that your 'her' and, I'm pretty sure that even Asuma is gonna make the case to go on higher-ranked missions." Naruto replied as his service drone handed him a lemonade
"He'd better, Naruto. I wanted to become a shinobi so I could make my clan proud, and show that I am one of the greatest to ever do it. Not do boring missions all day, and hear Shikamaru bitch and moan about everything being troublesome." Ino said back in having high hopes for her career going forward
"I definitely don't envy you being on a team with Shikamaru…The guy sounds like a nightmare to be stuck with; regardless of how smart he is." Naruto spoke as he and Ino drank from their respective beverages
"I figured you would actually like him; since you two were the biggest nerds at the academy. If anything you two could pretty much be certified for the smartest shinobi in the village...at least you would if Shika wasn't such a total lazy-ass." Ino said in regards to Naruto and Shikamaru being the most intelligent in their graduating class
"Here's the thing, Ino. I respect the guy for being one of the smartest people in our class. Since let's be real, if he really wanted to, he could've graduated early and been on his way to Chunin if he didn't find working just a little bit harder to be 'troublesome'." Naruto replied
"And?..." Ino said motioning for him to continue
"And even with all that brainpower he has to be one of the most cunning shinobi ever. I'm talking someone who could be like his old man and be the next jonin commander if he put his mind too it. I don't like him at ALL, because he's a lazy bum he squanders all that brainpower, all that talent and decides to do fuck all to advance himself…Its a main stay of why I can't like him even if I wanted too, the man does nothing with the gifts he has, and it infuriates me to no end." Naruto replied in irritation of the slothful Nara as a person
Given that the main thing that frustrated Naruto to no end about Shikamaru was that; the man could've been a Chunin and on the fast-track to being a jonin had he actually applied himself and had even the slightest bit more 'get up and go' about doing anything, then he'd be someone he could respect. But instead, Naruto watched someone who so mentally gifted just constantly piss it all away, and for what God given reason he couldn't fathom when said Nara had everything at his disposal to be great, that he instead would settle for mediocrity, which was the antithesis of what Naruto stood for and as such severely disliked in Shikamaru.
"Heck, I'll be surprised if he even gets promoted to Chunin with his attitude. He may be smart, but proactive and responsible to that scale aren't in his vocabulary in my opinion." Naruto replied
"By the time he makes Chunin, we'll have a new Hokage." Ino jested in regards to Shikamaru's lackadasical attitude
"I don't see that happening anytime soon. Between dad being a powerhouse and Shikamaru being a bum…he'll probably break the record for longest-running genin." Naruto replied
"By the way, Naruto. Are things getting any better with your mom and dad, or is it just the same?" Ino questioned her fellow blonde
"Pretty much the same,really. As far as they know, I'm still at the house doing whatever…And I intend to keep it that way for as long as possible." Naruto told her
"At this point, I'm actually surprised that they haven't noticed already. Between your dad being the Hokage, your mom being one of the strongest kunoichi next to your sensei's girlfriend, and Lady Tsunade. That they haven't picked up on your body double." Ino said finding it hard to believe that they haven't noticed by now
"That's one of the neat things about your dickhead brother and sister being the chosen ones….You get to fly under the radar, and anything short of murder you can get away with…Its' honestly one of the best things ever to happen to me the more I think about it." Naruto replied in having taken solace in his being the forgotten child to essentially allow him immense leeway
"And I'm not going to complain about it, since this is a nice bachelor pad you have here. But aren't you a little bit worried for what's can happen when they do find out?" Ino questioned
"Not really. They can't make me move back in with them anyways, since I'm a legal adult. Plus I already snuck in my emancipation papers a long time ago too. So that pretty much means that they can't even use clan shenanigans to rope me back in…Plus other than yell at me, or give me some big to-do-speech about how they want me to come back and be a family with them. What are they really going to do about me living here?" Naruto answered back unphased by the potential fallout
"You really thought all of this through didn't you?" Ino asked as she drank more of her tea
"Of course I have. When you have a craptastic family like mine, and an abundance of time on your hands. Then it really isn't nothing' to come up with an awesome plan like mine. I'm telling you Ino, they can't make me do anything. I'm practically untouchable!" Naruto said with a smug grin on his face
"I wouldn't say your untouchable, Naruto." Ino said back
"How's that?" Naruto questioned
"Because, you still get flustered by titties and ass. Just like everyone else." Ino answered back with a smug expression of her own
"N-No I don't." Naruto answered back
"Really, so you mean to tell me that if I took my top off right now. You wouldn't turn as red as your mom's hair?" Ino asked as almost immediately Naruto did a spit take upon hearing that
"You're gonna do what?!" Naruto asked his face heating up at the thought
"See, you aren't so untouchable aren't you? Besides, I'm a lot of things but easy isn't one of them." Ino said with a small chuckle
"Alright, alright, you got me with that one, Ino. But come one, its titties... You mean to tell me that you wouldn't get excited if a hot girl was willing to bust 'em out in front of you?" Naruto questioned
"I wouldn't go nuts if I saw pair of them. But it would be pretty nice." Ino answered back more than fine in appreciating a nice pair of breasts
"See, you get it too…Nice to see that you aren't a mega-prude like Kurenai is." Naruto said as he took a big gulp of lemonade
"That woman has no right to talk, Naruto. Especially when word around the village is, all it takes is a handful of tequila shots and a few beers. Then the next thing you know she's giving you head in some alleyway." Ino told Naruto who looked near flabbergasted at hearing that
"Wait really?! I thought that was just a myth Masako and them made up just to spite her." Naruto said
"They weren't lying when they told you. She's the top contender for village drunk for a reason…The things that woman will do when she gets alcohol in her system is disgusting. Then the nerve she has to act like a total frigid bitch to people, is the biggest load of crock I've ever seen…Then she wonders why people call her the The Queen of Double Standards." Ino said in regards to the red-eyed illusionist
"D-Do I even wanna know how many rumors about her being an alcoholic skank are true?" Naruto asked his fellow blonde
"Unless you want to vomit; then I would not ask too many questions about it. Trust me, there are some things I wish I didn't overhear when my family comes over… The stories I hear about her are as disgusting, as she is a featherweight drunk as my cousins call her." Ino answered back
"Wow, she isn't even a lightweight?...Dang, just when I thought my opinion of her couldn't get any lower." Naruto said over the red-eyed illusionists' liquor tolerance
"I don't know what you were expecting Naruto? She's total garbage for anyone passing themselves off as a genjutsu mistress; when we have the Uchiha Clan and the Kurama Clan still around. It doesn't help that without her genjutsu, she's basically a lightweight…Hell, even I could beat the brakes off of her without any problems." Ino remarked over Kurenai being the most ain't shit in terms of jonin
"I'm pretty sure anyone from our class could take her on. All you have to do is get her in taijutsu range, and she's downright fucked…I swear I don't know how she made it to jonin, when she sucks so hard, but she must've done someone a huge favor." Naruto replied knowing that Kurenai wasn't anything too difficult to take out all things considered
'Plus with my gear and even my aliens, I could make lightwork out of her; no problem.' Naruto noted to himself
"Whoever she did that favor for, must have put in a good word for her if Lord 4th hasn't done anything about it." Ino said back
"Isn't that the truth. The longer she's a jonin, the more she's practically broadcasting for someone to do her and her genin dirty." Naruto added in agreement
"So what else do you got planned, other than hanging out with your favorite blonde?" Naruto questioned
"Nothing much really, other than this; I planned on seeing Sakura's band play in the village tonight." Ino informed the Ultimatrix wielder of her current plans
"Oh yeah, I forgot Sakura had that going for her…How's that been working for her?" Naruto questioned
"So far, she's been doing pretty well for herself…She even told me that she's managed to get a record deal for her and her band." Ino answered back
"Really? That quick?" Naruto asked in surprise
"Mmhmm. Turns out that after she dropped out, that she was able to really focus on her music….Then about a month before graduation, she came over to my house and told me she managed to land a record deal; after someone heard her and band play on the south-side." Ino told Naruto
"Huh, well good for her then. She deserves it after being shit on by Hayase and her posse at the academy for so long." Naruto replied
"Yeah, she's actually doing something she loves, and I'm happy for her…So I'm gonna go see her in about an hour or two, and wish her the best. Since things have been pretty busy for her since she got her big break." Ino said in regards to her rockstar for a friend
"When you see her, can you tell her I said congratulations when you get a chance?" Naruto said to Ino
"I'll be sure too…Still, I just hope I can get my big break soon." Ino said as she drank the last bit of her iced tea
"Hey, this you were talking about. One of the most ambitious and talented women I know…If there's anyone who deserves one. Then its you." Naruto told her with his patented nice guy smile
"Thanks, Naruto…You always know what to say." Ino said
"Someone's gotta look out and keep you smiling. Who better than me, everyone's friend!" Naruto replied with a broad smile
"Whatever you goofball." Ino said back with a ligh shove and small chortle
From there Ino and Naruto continued to enjoy the others' company until the former of the two eventually had to depart to see her friend off, at the recording studio in the village she and her band were holed up at; with Naruto having hugged and said his farewells to his fellow blonde as she took off. However, the moment she was out of sight…Naruto out of irritation at spotting another familiar red-eyed crow did what came naturally at this point, which was grab a revolver from one of his cabinets and blast the corvid into a pile of feathers and gore.
'Just keep being a creepy stalker, Itachi…See what happens.' Naruto said to himself before holstering the firearm and heading back inside
(3 days later, ROOT HQ, Konoha, 12:05 Pm, June 10th, 997 S.E)
Meanwhile, on the following Saturday; Naruto was visiting with Pakura at the ROOT HQ who had recently finished her tests in order to be cleared and qualified as part of ROOT as one of its operatives.
"Hey, Miss. Pakura, I heard the good news about you passing your tests..Sorry it took me so long to find out and congratulate you. I've been a bit busy lately.." Naruto said as he happened upon the Scorch Release user
"Oh hello, Naruto. I wasn't expecting to see you today." Pakura said to the Ultimatrix wielder
"I was in the area to see how my factories are doing. Since I'm trying to pump out some cool artillery and body armor for our operatives to have. So while I was out and about checking on that, I heard that some new people passed the tests to get inducted into the ranks, and that you were one of them." Naruto told Pakura before he began reaching into his bag
"That's why, I ran to the village to get you this and doubled back, so I could give you my congratulations and stuff." Naruto further spoke before pulling out a container that had a small chocolate cake and handing it to Pakura
"You didn't have to this, Naruto. You allowing me to stay with you, is more than enough." Pakura said to the Ultimatrix wielder
"Nonsense. You are my roommate, comrade, and a good person to be around. So my doing this for you; is the least I could do." Naruto spoke still holding out the cake to her
"Besides, we celebrate our own around here. So go ahead and take it, you've more than earned it for being awesome and stuff." Naruto added
"...I suppose it wouldn't hurt if only just a little bit." Pakura said as she took the small cake from Naruto
"So tell me, how are you liking everything? I know it's been awhile since we've actually sat down and talked, but I do wanna know how you've been doing." Naruto asked knowing it has been a fat minute since they've sat down and talked outside of their small talk as roommates
"To be quite honest, Naruto. I have been doing wonderfully since Lord Danzo has greenlit me to join Root and be apart of active duty. It feels nice to begin serving once again." Pakura said back with an earnest smile
"Not to mention that the new technology you have created has worked wonders so far. I never imagined that ninja tools would advance so quickly, thanks to someone so young." Pakura added as they found a nearby table to sit at
"What can I say, Miss. Pakura. When you have the ability to improve things for everyone around you, then you take that chance and run with it…So trust me when I say that I'm just getting started!" Naruto said with a grin a akin to a mad scientist when having a new idea form
"So I've heard. Between the new armor, weaponry, and other tools you have made in your short tenure. It is more than enough to revolutionize how things are being done so far." Pakura remarked over the gadgets and gear Naruto through his factories had been able to pump out
"I'm glad you think that highly of what I'm doing; since the next project I have is gonna make missions even easier...I'm talking taking things to a whole other level type of crazy!" Naruto said with a widening grin
"What do you have in mind, exactly?" Pakura asked as she started to eat her cake
"To put it simply, I'm working on making mobile assault vehicles. Think about it Miss. Pakura; machines that can be ridden on all terrains imaginable and cut the travel time to missions, rendezvous points, and so forth down by a quarter of the time, if not a 3rd if I can get everything down for the first iteration. Not to even mention packing enough firepower to wipe out a small squadron too…It is gonna be absolutely nuts once I get it up and running!" Naruto explained to Pakura what his next project was going to be
"That sounds rather incredible to be honest. Such a thing would honestly an astounding asset for any hidden village to have at their disposal…You certainly have a keen mind for outrageous inventions." Pakura said between bites
"Thanks, plus it's only the beginning of what I've got planned. The sky is the limit, and I intend to shatter it and see what kind of fun stuff I can make. My home deserves to have the best toys I can give it, so why not go absolutely nuts and make some crazy stuff for everyone…I guess you can say its sort of my ninja way to go over and beyond, for what I can do." Naruto half rambled to the Scorch Release user
"You certainly have shown it…To be quite honest with you, if we were in Suna right now. You would be hailed as a technical prodigy for your advancements." Pakura replied
Seeing as how Naruto's creations of new armor, explosives, weaponry and supplementary gadgets; had worked wonders from what Pakura had heard and seen in turning ROOT alone into a force that was more formidable than any ANBU unit to date. Hence why she knew that Naruto had a bright future ahead of him as something truly special, given that if he could turn ROOT into something even more terrifyingly efficient in the span of months than it already was, then she knew if given free reign over Konoha that it would be a technologically advanced menace within the next 3-5 years.
"If we were in Suna, then I would be busting my butt making sure its something wonderful to come look at. Since I get that its there whole schtick to be this tough-as-nails village in the middle of the desert. However, with how crappy things are over there…that really ain't it for me, as I'd rather not deal with sandstorms on a weekly basis. Which is why I would be making sure everything gets built up to make everything far more sustainable to be in a sand-covered wasteland…no offense." Naruto said while Pakura continued to eat the last bits of her cake
"No it is quite fine….Understand that while I love my home and the people within it. Even I have to admit that living in my former home was less than idea in the best of times." Pakura spoke knowing that her home was less than idea to live in and even moreso under Rasa's reign
"Still, that doesn't mean that it didn't have its good days." Pakura added in still having many fond memories of her home despite its faults
"Hey, if I have anything to say about it. Then maybe one of these days we can clear things up over there, and get that dickhead out of power. Since it was grimey as fuck how they did you over there." Naruto said to the Scorch Release user who wiped her mouth before speaking
"While I would like that very much, Naruto. I am afraid that is very much outside the scope of possibility, given that with my 'death' his reputation has risen to a more favorable position. So as much as I would like to do so, I cannot without risking my home falling into anarchic chaos." Pakura told Naruto having kept up to date with how Rasa had used her death as a springboard to boost his popularity with the masses
"...That is why, unless you can make a miracle wherein Rasa is ousted and my former home and my loved ones aren't caught in a mass revolt against the regime. Then I'm afraid that the idea of doing so will have to stay just that…Even if it is something I would love to have happen to that rotten snake in the grass." Pakura added knowing that the risk for such things were too high
"Well, its still an idea I'll keep in the bank for later, Miss. Pakura…Everyone deserves to get their get back at someone. So if I can make it happen for you, then I'll do it in a heartbeat!" Naruto told her gaining a chocolate stained smile as she finished her cake
"I do appreciate the thought, Naruto, as it is very kind of you. However, I would rather focus on other things that are within my realm of possibility. Such as having help with bettering my kekkei genkai if you wouldn't mind." Pakura said to the Ultimatrix wielder
"Sure thing, Miss. Pakura. We can head to the training yard right now, and work on some new moves to make it even more awesome!" Naruto said as he hopped from his seat
"Thank you very much for joining me, Naruto. You really have been a help to me as of late." Pakura said as she and Naruto ventured off
"Hey, it is the very least I can do for a fellow comrade of the Hidden Leaf. We're all in this together." Naruto replied with his ever vibrant wide as a mile grin
(2 hours later, Hokage's Tower, 2:20 Pm)
On the other side of the village Obito and Kakashi were currently meeting with there sensei to inform them of how things had gone with their respective teams.
"While I am happy that both of your genin teams passed their tests. I do have to ask, Obito…was it really necessary to take them all the way to Grass Country to fight against rogue ninja for their test?" Minato asked in finding the scarred Uchiha's method to be a few notches close to extreme
"Oh come on, sensei, they did just fine. Plus it wasn't like they were any danger, or anything all that bad. I was in Kamui range, if anything went down and to be honest its not like they got banged up to bad to begin with…So with how great they did, and the fact that they took out a group of rogue ninja in under seven minutes flat, as a unit. Then I say this was a net win." Obito answered back in seeing everything as an absolute win
"While that is true that they accomplished their test in an astounding amount of time. I will request that you not make your following tasks as life-threatening. Minato said as both Kakashi and Obito's minds flashed back to the fateful day where their team was changed forever
"I understand completely, sensei. But you do have to admit…it is pretty cool that they're good enough to coordinate and take out enemy ninja together, already." Obito replied unable to fight the grin full of pride at his squad spreading across his face
"No I cannot. If anything, this means that I will be expecting good reports of their progress from hereon Obtio." Minato said back as the Uchiha in questioned nodded yes in response
"As for you, Kakashi…I never thought that I would say this, but I am so sorry that you are stuck with my children. If I knew that they would be this much of a handful for you, then I would have fixed their attitudes earlier…Why they think being a shinobi is a one-man-show, I'll never know." Minato spoke as Kakashi let out a weary huff
'Probably because you let them around Jiraiya of all people…That dickhead has made them have egos the size of the Hokage Tower, and now you wonder why they'd have shitty teamwork.' Obito said more to himself in regards to the 'gallant' Jiraiya's prophecy paying divdends
"...It isn't all that bad. Granted it took Sai getting them to focus on the objective, and actually work together as a team…after nearly an hour of bickering. They still managed to pass, although it gave me the biggest migraine ever for them to finally take the hint, even after they knew what the test was." Kakashi replied groaning at what had to have been the biggest pain in his ass ever in terms of the bell test
"I gotta ask this…but which one of the twins fucked up the hardest? Because I know one of them had to do something really fucking stupid, for it to take so damn long...Hell, even we didn't take that long, and we were a dumpster fire waiting to happen." Obito asked with a snide grin
"I don't wanna talk about it." Was Kakashi's quick response
"I bet it was Hayase wasn't it?" Obito questioned as Kakashi's irritated silence said it all
"...I tried to warn ya, about her being a giant spotlight-hogging diva. But you didn't wanna listen, so have fun dealing with that hot mess…My losing out on a good team my ass." Obito said knowing full well that between the twins it was surprisingly Hayase that was the harder to work with
"I am sorry you had to deal with my childrens'...attitude problems. However, the chance I get; I will have a word with them about working together with their comrades. They may be the prophesied chosen ones, but that is still no excuse to not work with others as a unit." Minato spoke knowing he was going to have his hands full with said jinchuuriki
"Damn, I really don't envy you two…On the plus side, I have my awesome genin team and my kickass girlfriend who I've got a date with in an hour…Man my life is wonderful!" Obito replied with a chipper grin on his face
"We get it your life is going great, you don't have too…" Kakashi said back before a Susannoo arm came quick as lightning to punch him in the nuts
"...Was that really necessary, Obito?" Minato questioned
"What? He was gonna rain on my parade and I said fuck that, and chose violence." Obito answered back with a semi-straight face
'Oh dear God, I've entrusted a genin team with Konoha's strongest gremlin/manchild.' Minato said to himself as with each passing day taking up Tsunade for drinks sounded more and more appealing
"While it is most promising that both of your genin squads have passed. Even moreso that Obito's has passed with flying colors. I still expect consistent reports as with the other jonin sensei's…You two are entrusted with the futures of our next generation, so I expect bi-weekly reports on their progress, am I made clear?" Minato said to both of his students
"Yes, Lord Hokage." Both men responded
"Good…Kakashi, you are dismissed, Obito I want to talk to you about Naruto for a brief moment." Minato spoke as Kakashi nodded before leaving albeit with a potentially bursted testicle
"...Is this a good or bad talk about him? Because, either way, I'll tell you that he's a good kid." Obito asked his sensei
"It is a good talk, more or less. Given that from your report he led the charge and coordinated the plan to take out the Shinobazu, with his teammates correct?" Minato questioned
"Yeah. When they got back, they told me that it was thanks to some weird techniques that Naruto used. Along with some stuff he made for 'em, that everything turned out well. Honestly, you'd be surprised with how cool your son is." Obito answered back in not wanting to spill the tea that his sensei's son could turn into alien monsters
"...That…That is good to know." Minato replied
"Yeah, as some of the stuff he's come up with is pretty phenomenal so far…If anything, I'd say that he's got one helluva future in research and development; when he gets older. Because holy shit, is some of the stuff he makes pretty damn cool." Obito said back in having seen some of his gadgets firsthand
'Now if only he can make me a sick-ass warhammer or battleaxe, that would be awesome.' Obito said in wanting something to that affect or similar
"So I've heard…Iruka has told me that he has made a number of items and such…Even made a small construct to help with clean-up after Hayase's 'incident' a few months ago…Academy halls haven't been that pristine since I attended." Minato remarked
"Honestly, sensei. If your so interested about what Naruto's up too. Then maybe you should just talk to him, and ask him?" Obito advised to the Hokage
"...That is much easier said than done, Obito…My lackluster parenting towards Naruto, hasn't exactly left me in the best position to take an interest in him personally…Now that he's an adult and an official shinobi at that, on top of how much time I've focused on the twins instead of with him. I doubt he'll be the most receptive to me." Minato replied
While Minato wanted to invest more in all of his childrens' lives, he was still self-aware enough about what went on in his family due to the prophecy to his knowledge; to know that he hadn't done the most stellar job with Naruto. Hence why he knew for a fact and especially after his talks with Tsunade that he wasn't in the best position whatsoever to start taking interest in Naruto's life, given that as it currently stood he had no room to stand on to really talk to or even hold a reasonable conversation with his eldest.
"Look, I don't know what to tell you about that, Minato-sensei. That's kind of what you get for focusing on two superpowered jackasses, over the kickass inventor you got for a son." Obito said back unable to help himself from taking a jab at his sensei's parenting
"...Don't remind me. Tsunade, Fugaku, and Dan already do that." Minato replied in having already heard earfulls from those mentioned
"Still, it's the best chance you've got. Because, I'm not gonna tell you what he likes and all that, since that's sensei-student confidentiality and all that. Plus, there's things he trusts me with that I can't tell, because hey I'm pretty much his uncle, so I can't really double-crosss my 'nephew' by telling people things he told me not too." Obtio said to the blonde Hokage
'Plus he'd have my ass, if he found out that I blabbed to Minato-sensei about his weird gauntlet or whatever it's called.' Obito remarked to himself over said possibility
"That is more than understandable, and I would not ask you to do so. It would be wrong of me to ask you betray Naruto's trust as his sensei. Especially, when I should do my due diligence as his father, and do what I should've done a long time ago." Minato spoke
"Good luck to you, because he isn't gonna have a high opinion of you… I mean as the Hokage he respects the hell out of you…You being his father on the other hand, well, you'd have better luck convincing Masako not to be such a chaos gremlin." Obito replied
"Thank you, I know I'm going to need it." Minato said back
"Alright, other than asking me about Naruto. Is there anything else you wanted to talk to me about?" Obito asked
"No, there is nothing…and he's already gone." Minato said as Obito had teleported via Kamui the moment Minato said no
'You've done it again, Minato. On one hand, your eldest is flourishing on his genin team and on the other hand, your youngest are a potential time bomb waiting to happen…At this rate I'm going to turn gray before I turn 45, and be an alcoholic in half that time on top of it.' Minato remarked to himself in knowing that this was going to be a very, VERY long year ahead of him
So with Team 7's Genin test done and over with, what awaits them in the hereafter as now the door to many possibilities and shenanigans are wide open to be experienced?...Well, stay tuned to see what comes next in the all new chapters of, The Alien Soldier!
Alright, that takes care of that as I hoped you enjoyed this chapter and the events of my take on the genin test for Team 7 and all that came out of it, and I hope you guys will stay tuned for all future shenanigans to come next in the future.

Furthermore, sorry about the long wait, but between Helldivers 2, my love for Warhammer40K being reignited and it giving me some fun ideas on where to lead Naruto's character going forward (as I'm taking inspiration from Perturabo, Horus Lupercal, Rouboute Guilliman ,Lion El'Jonson in terms of character traits to draw from as Naruto gets further into being a shinobi.), and working on other future fics such as a Harry Potter story, a possible My Hero story where Deku becomes an incredibly powerful Psyker, and a DBZ X Justice Crossover its taken up a lot of my time, but luckily I'm back in action.
That being said this is, Nomadic Chaos using the power of said chaos to give y'all good stuff to read. What with the next chapter being some stuff going on with our intrepid genin, and Danzo offering them their 1st mission.

Now then onto some of the reviews from the previous chapter.
Kourtney Uzu Yato: Also, yeah Naoya would rather suffocate to death than ever admit he'd been beaten by anyone, as neither he nor Hayase will let him live that particular chestnut down for a very, very LONG time. Furthermore, if Naruto had to be stuck with them he'd probably figure out a way to build a Melta Cannon and just accidentally have it go off on them while they were training, since he would rather get punched full force by Angron on cocaine than deal with his siblings on a genin team if that answers things for you. Also, Kurenai due to fucking up with Yakumo to the point she had to get taken care has her being on thin ice to the point where if she can't clean up her act; then she's legitimately and permanently fired from being a jonin, no demotions or suspensions just straight up discharged from the corps and nothing more to be said. Also, Ino's resentment toward being in the Ino-Shika-Cho will be showing up more and more often throughout the story...since Shikamaru's laziness will get him and the others into trouble sooner or later in a future mission. Lastly, I will be getting into Itachi at a latter date considering that even when he reports to Jiraiya things are gonna go on a further decline for him, and with Orochimaru they are gonna be locked in to improving Otogakure for the better; that much I guarantee.
Volcasarion: Also, don't worry I'm not done yet and glad you liked the fight between them, since I wanted Naruto to get his win in a way that was gonna be meaningful to say the least. Also, when I do the Wave Arc; the thing is that will set in that Naruto takes things more millitantly to where it'll be shown that he takes things of what happens with ruthless efficiency, and if Zabuza or Haku both won't comply to joining...then let's just say with how good he is with machinery; they'll be joining Konoha's military forces one way or another to comply with the Will of Fire, and as for secret operatives; I'm leaving that a secret for now.
God of Wind 200: Naruto isn't a reincarnation, but its neat that you noticed that Naruto's acting like a combination of Azmuth and Albedo, since I thought it would be funny to have his attitude be a combo of that.
